I still found it annoying, Strange is both smart and powerful, no way Spider-Man can really beat him, and I say this as someone who's favorite superhero of all time is Spider-Man, and also my 4th favorite character of all time behind Aragorn, Legolas and Luke Skywalker.
Guest 3: I wasn't impressed by any of it, and what they're doing with the Black Panther franchise shows money always rules over decency and common sense in the minds of these idiots.
Chapter 5- Trying to save the boy
Knull was currently in Acropolis of Athens, an ancient Greek monument, but he did not care for its significance, and with a scoff, destroyed it using his dark energy tendrils in that very moment.
Now nothing was left of this great monument except lots and lots of ruins.
Strange was handing, feeling nothing but pain and agony, feeling something spread through him.
"The Multiverse is about to be consumed by darkness, and you're just hanging around?"
Strange actually chuckled a bit, turning his head to see Stephen, who used his magic to cut Strange down from the restraints, but his humor dropped on seeing Strange was pale, with bloodshot eyes.
He supported Strange, opening a portal to Kamar-Taj, where some healers saw the condition of Strange and rushed to help him, but he waved them away, for they could not do anything about the power of Knull and his Necrosword.
Wong noted Strange's condition, but Strange said. "We must go to the Compound."
Wong nodded, opening a portal as the three walked into the Compound, where the Avengers, Defenders, Frank and May had also grouped up with the X-Men and Silver Surfer.
Logan noticed Strange, as did the rest, and he asked. "What happened to you, Doc?"
"I thought I could slow him down. I failed."
"Guessing that pasty look of yours isn't just you feeling bad about it." Tony commented.
"He's been touched by a force of darkness and evil, the likes of which doesn't recognize the concepts of good and hope." Stephen spoke to them in a very grim tone.
Wong then regretfully informed them all. "Strange will not live out the day."
Their expressions turned from neutral to horrified as Colleen asked. "What?"
"But….." Wanda trailed off. "You…you…."
Strange looked at her sadly, Matt muttering. "This can't be!"
"It can't be happening! It shouldn't be happening!" Danny said.
"Oh no!" Storm sighed sadly too.
The Sorcerer Supreme, their friend and ally, one of their most powerful defenders, was dying, it hit them hard.
"Stephen, you should rest." Steve told him immediately.
"And let the Multiverse succumb to darkness? No offense, Cap, but that has to be your worst plan yet. Just because I'm down, doesn't mean I'm out yet. With our divine reinforcements gone, you need all hands on deck."
"I will be there to aid him if I must." Wong volunteered.
"And they will not be alone." Stephen sides with them
"Thought you would be protecting your Earth." Steve admitted to the Earth-2002 Sorcerer Supreme.
"Thankfully, Knull's forces only spread through worlds in the Multiverse that pose a serious threat. My world does not have the luxury of the Avengers or Justice League. Earth is safe for now, Clea and my Wong will ensure it is protected."
Then a breach opened as Frank walked in with Spider-Man, Peter, Miles, Miguel, Spidey and Pavitr as well.
"Hey there", Gwen waved at them.
Spider-Man looked at May, then the rest. "So, he has been possessed by an evil being, right?"
Seeing their looks, Peter sighed. "Yup, that'd be it."
"Then, I'm guessing we've to free him then", Miles noted.
"Well, I am sure he can be freed", Matt commented. "Since it used him to come to this world and covered him, there must be a link."
"And by severing it, we can save him", Miguel realized.
"Oh I'm up for it", Spidey said.
"Besides", Miles started. "You mess with one of us-"
"-you mess with all of us", Spider-Man, Peter, Miles, Miguel, Gwen, Spidey and Pavitr finished together.
"All of us together saying it really gives a good feel", Pavitr had to say.
"Its gonna be hard though, that thing won't just stand there and let us reach through to him", Gwen pointed out, and none could disagree there, so this would be a hard endeavour.
"Still, we have to do it", Steve said, all looking at him. "Fight this second wave, and save Parker." He looked at himself, then Stephen, Wanda, Hulk and Surfer. "The five of us shall battle Knull. The rest shall battle his army."
"Oh yeah, let's kick some ass", Gwen quipped.
"Save", Spider-Man pointed out. "Save some ass."
"Save that ass", Tony quipped.
"Save one, kick the rest", Steve said before looking at all of them. "We have to stop him."
Knull was on top of the Great Pyramid of Giza, and raising his Necrosword, he brought it down, splitting the Great Pyramid of Giza apart, slicing it down the middle, briefly appearing in the temple where the Ennead Council gathered.
He sneered at the statues as they crumbled before appearing outside, watching the Great Pyramid of Giza collapse.
Like with the Acropolis of Athens, nothing was left of this monument but lots and lots of ruins.
With that, he flew East towards India, where he would destroy the Srirangam Temple in South India. This temple was dedicated to Lord Vishnu, the God of Preservation in Hinduism, and apparently the Supreme God too according to one sect of theirs.
He continued flying, reaching closer to his destination, when Stephen appeared in his way, making him slow down his speed, and then halt, looking at his opponent.
"Shall I slay you as I bring mockery to these deities these mortals so foolishly worship, or, shall you flee from death as these "Gods" have?"
"Oh, I don't think so." Stephen clapped his hands, engulfing them both in light, one that brought them to the evacuated and empty New York, which Knull noticed as the light faded, leaving both of them to face each other.
Glaring at Stephen, Knull snorted and then mocked his opponent and his worth as well. "It does not matter where we engage, this world is riddled with Gods, and if I can't find any, then there is a whole Multiverse full of them awaiting me. This is just a pitstop, as you humans would say, to the grand feast that awaits. You can't stop the Void! You can't stop ME!"
Then he snorted in derision at Stephen. "You are no God."
"No, but that does not mean I do not have the power of Gods!" Stephen boasted as he channelled the power of the Vishanti.
Stephen rotated his arms with Eldritch energy coating his hands. Tao Mandalas of white, green, and blue formed around the Sorcerer, creating a triangle with him at the center. "Omnipotent Oshtur," the image of a woman's head appeared in the white, "Eye of Agamotto," in blue was the head of the first Sorcerer, "and the Hoary Hosts of Hoggoth!" A roar came from the green as a tiger's head materialized. "Ageless Vishanti, by your will, by your might, I ask of the...CAST THEM DOWN!"
The three circles converged into one big gold Mandala in front of Stephen and unleashed a stream of raw magic energy that shot towards Knull, who lifted his Necrosword, trying to block it.
And for the first time, he struggled, staggering back a little with gritted teeth, Stephen pushing him back with all of his might.
The Symbiotes shot down from the sky, while Knull removed the Necrosword and in the split second fired pitch black energy instead, both of them struggling against each other with gritted teeth.
The Heroes arrived to battle the Symbiotes, Storm flying in the air as lightning struck various Symbiotes, incinerating them instantly before summoning powerful winds that sent some flying outside the atmosphere in that very instant too.
Logan leapt down, his flaming claws in full display as he sliced down three Symbiotes, then roared loudly before slicing some more.
Beast leapt as well, using a sonic device to take out one Symbiote, as another one touched Rogue, only to screech as she took its life, the Symbiote shrivelling up and dying due to her powers.
Bobby froze another Symbiote while Piotr ripped one into two halves using all his strength, and threw them into opposite directions where Beast again used his sonic device to take down both halves, which were gone with screeches of pain as well.
Kitty simply passed through one Symbiote and it got disrupted as it too shrivelled up, while Nightcrawler teleported another Symbiote near Beast and he took out with the sonic device as well.
Steve flew into the air, wrapping some Symbiotes and green and blue constructs before turning them into flaming infernos that killed the Symbiotes, while Tony flew next to him and used his repulsors to kill a group of some more, Rhodes firing his flamethrower around too.
The clash of energies between Stephen and Knull was getting louder and louder, both of them trying to overpower the beam of the other as the beam struggle reached its crescendo.
"TAKE COVER!" Matt cried out on sensing what was about to happen.
There was a huge blast of energy that destroyed several buildings nearby, and Stephen was sent flying off by many feet, rolling away, as Knull staggered back.
Pietro saw debris about to fall on Danny and Colleen, and ran them out of harm's way, before seeing the same happening to Natasha and Yelena, and saved them as well.
An Eldritch whip wrapped around Knull, but he simply pulled, seeing it was Strange, and tossed him to the other end, seeing how he looked.
"So pathetic, still trying to battle the inevitable in a condition like yours."
He stood over Strange and brought the Necrosword down on him, but Wong opened a portal underneath and Strange fell into it, Wong closing it immediately before Knull could follow.
Knull glared at Wong as a full-power Unibeam from Tony hit him right in the chest.
And it didn't do a thing!
"Your attempts are annoying, yet amusing. I am unsure whether to praise you, or to kill you."
"How about shutting up?!" Tony asked when Steve landed to battle Knull, having a sword made out of green energy construct, but outlined by blue energy as well.
They charged each other, Steve swinging as Knull blocked with the Necrosword, then swung at Steve who blocked with his sword as well, the blades drawing against each other and some shockwaves being released.
The two backed before Knull struck out and Steve blocked with his sword and was pushed back by a few feet as well.
Steve got up and both charged once more, clashing their blades and causing powerful shockwaves as Knull brought the Necrosword down, Steve blocking with gritted teeth as Knull slowly overpowered him.
Matt and Elektra turned as Venom leapt at them when Spider-Man swung in and kicked him away.
They landed on a building as Spider-Man started. "Eddie this isn't-"
Venom grabbed Spider-Man and tossed him to the other side as he groaned, before rolling to avoid a punch and flip kicking his face, sending him back.
Venom webbed Spider-Man and pulled him towards himself. "We are Venom!"
He hurled Spider-Man away and charged him but Spider-Man rolled to avoid and kicked his back, sending him falling off the building.
There, Peter swung at him and kicked his face as they both fell into a building. Peter leapt and kicked him twice, but the third time Venom grabbed his foot and tossed him to the other side, making him groan.
Peter said. "Fight it, Eddie!"
Venom simply roared as Peter realized this wasn't as simple as that. "Looks like I'll have to talk less and fight a bit more."
He kicked Venom hard and he was sent flying out of the building, where he clung onto another one nearby, and saw Miles, who leapt and hit him with a sting as he screeched in pain, then Miles flipped and kicked Venom, sending him back.
"Yeah, you like that, huh?" Miles taunted, before Venom kicked him away, though the sting was affecting him still, and then Miguel swung nearby, slicing at Venom twice as he screeched, before kneeing Miguel's gut.
Miguel dodged the next blow and spinning, elbowed Venom's face, then tried to strike again but was hurled away. However, he grabbed Venom with a web and pulled him down as well, making Venom screech when Gwen kicked him while swinging.
She swung away but Venom grabbed her foot with a web and tossed her onto a building, cracking it as she groaned in pain. "Oh boy!"
He leapt upon her and brought his fists down as she rolled to avoid, and fired webbing on his face, making him screech.
Venom ripped the webbing off and grabbing her foot, hurled her to the other side. However, she tripped him with some webbing in time.
Then Pavitr swung at Venom from above, kneeing his face as they were sent into the building. Venom flipped Pavitr over and punched his face thrice, making him groan.
As he tried to punch again, Pavitr fired a web and kicked the fist back, then actually grabbed Venom's throat, before flipping him over, and then he punched his face thrice, until Venom grabbed him by the throat and slammed him down hard on the ground, breaking it before slamming Pavitr again and throwing him down.
Spidey suddenly swung in and kicked his chin so hard he was sent flying up onto building, and he swung once more but Venom grabbed and tossed him away.
Then Spider-Man grabbed him with webs from behind and pulled, Venom struggling against as he tried to pull Spider-Man instead, but Spider-Man roared and managed to pull Venom, then kicked him down with a leap.
As Venom staggered up, both Spider-Man and Peter gave him an uppercut on the chin, sending him flying off onto another building, where Gwen and Miguel quickly webbed him up together, and Miles hit him with another sting as he screeched in pain.
All of this together finally knocked Venom out while they turned to see Spidey and Pavitr supporting each other.
"Now this was a hell of a fight", Spidey quipped.
"Yeah, huge fight, its something", Pavitr muttered too.
"Let's go save our friend", Spider-Man said and they nodded before swinging away together.
Knull grabbed Steve and hurled him to the other side, when Hulk leapt in and punched his face, making him stagger. Hulk punched him two more times, before Knull blasted him away onto the ground where he groaned in pain.
Knull leapt upon him but Hulk dodged and grabbing Knull, slammed him down. Knull tried to get up but Hulk kicked him so hard he was sent crashing back by a few feet.
Then Hulk charged, only for Knull to strike him point blank with his dark energy, as Hulk screeched, being sent flying off into the air at that point.
Knull flew up into the air, and landed on another building when Silver Surfer rammed his board onto his face, staggering him, and spinning, struck him twice with the board, again staggering him, then flew off but Knull grabbed him and tossed him to the other side effortlessly.
Surfer leapt and punched Knull twice before hitting him with the board once more, and was about to strike again when Knull kicked him back.
Then Knull struck out with dark energy as Surfer held up a force field to defend himself, gritting his teeth while trying to hold Knull's power back.
But it was in vain as the force field shattered, but Surfer fired a blast of Cosmic energy back at Knull in time, both of them trying to overpower each other, trying to make their beam win the clash.
Then an explosion of energy happened as Surfer was sent flying back while Knull simply staggered back by a bit, and then Surfer flew at Knull, ramming into him once more, before trying to strike him but Knull dodged with ease.
Suddenly, Surfer's hand glowed with powerful Cosmic light, and Knull screeched in actual pain, this damaging him quite a bit.
But then he grabbed Surfer by the throat, and grabbed his board too, dark energy spreading from the hand of the Dark God older than the entirety of the Multiverse itself into the board.
Surfer could only watch in horror as his board that had been with him for a long time, exploded into a million pieces.
Knull squeezed harder as the former Herald of Galactus lost consciousness, and he let go, letting Surfer crash onto the ground and form a giant crater.
Suddenly, Hulk leapt at Knull once more and punched him twice, sending him back by a few feet each time, and as Knull fired a blast of dark energy, Hulk put his arms in the way to block, gritting his teeth as he was sent back by a few feet but held on.
Knull stopped, Hulk trying to smash him but Knull dodged and sliced Hulk's shoulder with the Necrosword, making him grunt before the wound healed, though Knull kicked him back as well.
Hulk dodged the next swing, then tried to punch Knull who also dodged, before Hulk brought both fists down upon Knull, actually managing to smash him down once more.
Knull struck forth and the Necrosword stabbed through Hulk's shoulder, making him grit his teeth before Knull pulled out, though the wound healed soon, and he rammed into Knull, once more sending him back.
Then he leapt towards Knull with both fists raised but at the very last moment, Knull fired a giant blast of dark energy at the Green Goliath point blank, sending him flying up into the air before crashing hard onto the ground, forming a huge crater as Hulk lay there, groaning in pain.
Thor was in a realm where most Gods were covered from Knull right now, and could see the entire battle from his spot as well.
However, seeing his friends struggle against this while he sat, he could not take it.
"I'm going down there!" Thor said as he got up immediately.
"If he kills you though, it will only increase the power of Knull as well as his Necrosword", Persephone pointed out to Thor, who had to concede to that as well, sadly.
But he wasn't going to give up either.
"I know what can happen if I die, I understand the risks", Thor looked at Persephone, Hades and Horus firmly. "But that won't stop me from helping my friends."
The three shared looks, then Hades shrugged. "Well, its your choice, we were just warning you is all."
"If you wish to go, we will not stop you", Persephone assured as well.
"So we all wish you well", Horus finished.
Then Loki walked next to Thor. "A fight against God-slaying monster older than all of us combined, and you think I'll let you go without me? You wouldn't last five minutes."
The two brothers shared a smirk when Merlin walked to them, not fully well but healed mostly, rubbing his chest.
"I'm going to go too", Merlin said.
"You are not very well, Merlin", Thor put a hand on his shoulder to support him.
"I am not going to Earth, all of us there against Knull would be too dangerous", Merlin pointed out as the brothers shared a look. "I shall go to Middle-earth."
"Your old home", Loki realized, Merlin nodding.
"And I won't be going alone."
Knull stood on the rooftop once more when Wanda hovered near him, glowing with her magic, of which she fired two blasts at Knull, actually managing to stagger him back.
While Wanda's powers were not exactly light-based, her character was, plus her love for Parker was fuelling her to try her best to free him, and that, combined with her power, could affect Knull at least.
She fired a giant stream of energy at Knull that he blocked with the Necrosword, and she gritted her teeth, firing harder, but couldn't do much, as she backed off.
"Who would have thought that my host would mate with Chthon's pet. What a curious fate Peter Parker possesses."
"You don't get to say his name!" Wanda roared as she blasted Knull, whose own shadow rose up as a shield.
"Why wouldn't I? As little you mortals mean to me, I owe the boy for my freedom. He may live, while else dies, another to bask in the dark of the Void, any child would be so blessed."
Wanda screamed, blasting harder as Knull blocked and there was another explosion that sent debris falling here and there.
Wanda then formed some runes and covered Knull with those, trying to crush him and absorb all power, but Knull roared as the runes shattered, staggering Wanda back, and he then grabbed her by the throat.
Knull opened up, revealing Parker inside him, his face pale and veins darkened, as his eyes were a pitch black void of darkness. He dangled Wanda over the edge of the building, smirking cruelly, and she could only watch in horror and grief.
Knull mocked both Parker and Wanda as well as the love that they shared.
"The little Witch. The great love. The keeper of his heart. I wonder, can you feel him? Can you feel him fighting with all his futile efforts to save you? No? Such a disappointment, but I can feel him, scratching, clawing his way to save you, and it is fierce." Then he watched until Wanda lost consciousness in his strong and powerful grip. "Maybe he will feel your death."
He let go as the unconscious Wanda plummeted below.
Pietro saw and tried to run to save her, but a Symbiote from behind leapt at him, trying to latch onto him as Pietro fell to the ground, struggling against it.
"Peter?" Gwen Stacy cried out as the clock mechanism broke, throwing Harry Osborn away into a corner, the pieces of the mechanism falling onto him.
Gwen was falling with pieces of the clock mechanism falling down alongside her.
Peter looked down and leapt after her to save her.
He'd do it! He was Spider-Man, he always saved everyone, right?
A web shot out of his web-shooter, looking like a hand reaching out. Gwen closed her eyes in that moment, knowing what was going to happen.
The webbing grabbed Gwen as Peter held on, but the sudden stop in the fall sent a crack through her body, breaking her neck as her head hit the ground. Pieces of the clock mechanism fell around her.
The clock now said- 1:21.
Peter secured the webbing and leapt down, standing next to her limp body. He took off his mask, looking at her, not knowing his fatal mistake yet.
He held Gwen in his arms, bridal style, the webbing leaving her, and went down on his knees, trying to wake her up. "Hey. Hey. Gwen?" No response. "Hey. Hey! Gwen?" Still no response.
Peter stroked her face lovingly. "Hey. Breathe. Hey, Gwen. Hey. Hey. You're okay." Why wasn't she opening her eyes?
Peter's hand shook as he stroked her hair, a lump entering his throat. "Gwen?" He was almost sobbing now. "Stay with me, stay with me. Stay with me, stay with me. You stay with me."
And then some blood trickled down her nose, as Peter saw it, his eyes widening. "Gwen. Gwen!"
It hit him at last. But it couldn't be!
"No, please, please", Peter was sobbing now as he held Gwen's dead body in his arms. "Please"
His face was buried in her neck as tears rolled down his cheeks.
"I can't do this without you."
"Leave Gwen out of it."
"You don't give people hope. You take it away."
"NOOOOOOOOOOOO!"
Peter leapt into action, jumping after the unconscious and plummeting Wanda as he pushed falling debris out of the way.
Don't fire a web, he commanded in his head, don't make the same mistake again.
Parker wouldn't lose Wanda! He wouldn't let the terrible fate that befell him and Gwen befall Parker and Wanda.
Don't fire a web! Don't let this girl fall, not this time!
The debris was his friend, he had to rely on that, as he used it to give himself more momentum, launching forwards.
And he did it! He caught Wanda just in time, and flipping in the air, fired a web up above to steady both, holding Wanda tightly.
Peter landed on the ground, holding Wanda bridal style as pieces of the building fell around them.
Wanda opened her eyes, regaining consciousness as she saw she was in Peter's arms.
He had saved her now.
"Are you okay?" Peter asked Wanda in concern and relief.
"Yeah, I'm okay", Wanda nodded, relieved that she was alive, and then she noticed Peter's face, he was holding back tears.
"Are you okay?" Wanda then asked, concerned about him due to seeing the pain on his face.
Overwhelmed with emotion, Peter nodded, managing a bittersweet smile on his tear-stained face. Now he was okay.
Wanda, due to her powers, felt what Peter was feeling, and tears rolled down her own cheeks as Peter's darkest memory played in her head.
Lifting up her hand, she wiped Peter's tears, as he looked at her appreciatively while she smiled at him encouragingly.
He'd faced his worst demon, and prevailed over it.
Maybe he did give hope now.
Pietro vibrated and at last managed to rip the Symbiote apart, then got up to see Peter putting Wanda down and sighed in relief.
Suddenly, the entire sky darkened, and they looked up to see Symbiote Dragons descending to battle them.
"Oh boy, why Dragons?" Falcon groaned.
"I wish I knew", Bucky sighed. "I hate it when our opponents are Dragons."
"We all do", Falcon said.
Thor's IW entrance soundtrack plays
Suddenly, the Bifrost struck a building and Stormbreaker flew out, cracking with lightning, striking many Dragons on the head as they screeched in pain.
Stormbreaker flew back towards the Bifrost which faded, revealing Thor, who caught it, Loki next to him, both looking up at the Dragons as Thor narrowed his eyes at how the Dragons looked, now realizing the connection between himself and Knull.
"I know now what Knull was saying before", Thor said to his brother, Loki turning to him.
"What would that be?" Loki inquired.
"I defeated 2 Dragons that looked like this back in the sixth century", Thor revealed to his brother. "My human worshippers named one as Grendel, and the other was considered to be Grendel's mother. They must have been Knull's. I did not think much of it at the time, only as mere Dragons for my young, arrogant and battle-lusting self to battle and then vanquish."
"You know brother, you might have been arrogant back then, but your intentions clearly were still noble", Loki said, confusing Thor until his next words. "Your lightning was not only powerful but also seen as the Light of Nobility that Knull is weakened against."
Thor gave his brother an appreciative smile as they grasped each other's shoulders, while Rhodes flew near them. "So, you two are back?"
"I could not sit back while my friends risked everything to save the Multiverse from the darkness", Thor said to him.
"And I couldn't let him do it alone", Loki added, as they shared a look.
"Today we shall vanquish even more together", Thor said before he flew up and sliced at one Dragon, making it screech in pain while firing lightning at another as it was thrown back.
Loki fired a blast of magic at one more, throwing it back, then many Lokis appeared and all blasted it together, making it screech as it fluttered wildly.
In Middle-earth, Gandalf sliced two Symbiotes with Glamdring as Radagast struck one down with his staff, Aragorn twirling Mjolnir and killing three while Bill slammed Stormbringer on the ground, the lighting killing some more Symbiotes.
Suddenly, there was a bright light, and when it faded, Merlin appeared. With him were Balthazar Blake, Veronica and Dave.
"Middle-earth", Merlin whispered, looking around at the sight with a fond smile.
"We're back at last", Balthazar noted, as both had come back here after so, so long.
Veronica told them both. "Take it in later, we've an army to battle."
"Right."
"It is good to see you two here, my friends", Gandalf said fondly as they shared a smile.
"This is like an educational visit, along with saving a world from invading goop aliens", Dave commented, then wondered. "How did this become my life?"
They chuckled as another army of Symbiotes charged at them.
Gandalf, Radagast, Merlin and Balthazar Blake walked forwards as one, the four Istari who had not fallen now united to defend Middle-earth once more.
Gandalf raised his staff as a bright light struck many Symbiotes, making them screech as they were taken out, and Merlin slammed his staff onto the ground, the Symbiotes all being torn apart from the inside by his spell.
Radagast also slammed his staff to the ground, plants rising as vines and striking some Symbiotes, sending them flying off.
Balthazar held up his palm as blue flames gathered in his hand, then he slammed his palm down, and the fire travelled until it surrounded a group of Symbiotes, then the blue inferno engulfed them all, leaving nothing but ash remaining as the dying screeches of the Symbiotes were heard by all of them.
Dave held out his hands, firing some fireballs as they hit and killed Symbiotes, before he combusted two of them effortlessly, Veronica telekinetically tearing one more apart with her own powers as well.
Aragorn twirled Mjolnir and slammed it to the ground as lightning killed another group of Symbiotes, and he hurled it, the hammer flying and killing some more as Bill twirled Stormbringer and struck many more Symbiotes with it, his power and the lightning killing them as well.
Knull stood on the building, when Storm struck him with powerful lightning, but it didn't do much. Before he could retaliate, Steve and Arthur landed, the former holding his green energy construct sword with the blue energy outline, while the latter had Excalibur as well.
Arthur then leapt with his sword as Knull deflected and pushed him to one side. He then blocked two strikes from Steve on his other side and pushed him back too before turning to deflect sword strikes from Arthur.
Arthur ducked to avoid another swing as Knull turned and deflected a strike from Steve before they leapt back on either side of him.
Together, they charged him with swords but he blocked both of theirs simultaneously before pushing them both back.
Their duel continued like that as Knull deflected some more of Steve's strikes and then jumped back as Arthur leapt at him with his Excalibur, dodging the blow.
Arthur leapt in the air and spun as he leapt at Knull but he struck the Excalibur with his Necrosword and the force was enough to send Arthur flying back and crashing on the ground, Excalibur falling away as he lost consciousness.
Steve then charged Knull and they clashed swords thrice before ending up in a deadlock, Knull taunting. "Your Light may be vast, but I shall cover the entire Multiverse in darkness."
He pushed Steve back, but Steve wasn't going to give up. "I can do this all day."
Steve charged Knull, but Knull blocked. Knull backed to avoid another strike, when Steve struck, the shockwave from the clash destroying some ground nearby.
They backed, Steve jumping backwards before charging Knull again, as they clashed, though Knull was not really bothered from the way he looked at least, and Steve knew it, but he would keep trying till the end of this. Knull jumped back at one point as Steve's strike broke the building.
As he struck again, Knull blocked, and then he struck Steve's sword with the Necrosword in an upwards motion as Steve was sent up into the air, Knull too flying up after him.
The two clashed in the air, Knull easily having the upper hand as Steve was forced to block, and then Knull sent Steve down with a strike on the construct sword with his Necrosword.
Steve formed machine guns of both green and blue constructs and kept firing at Knull, who destroyed the bullets with his Necrosword, then struck down at Steve, who raised his sword to block but it was obliterated right there and then, Steve falling down onto a building, rolling away, cuts on his face as he groaned in pain.
He looked up as Knull landed, once more opening up to reveal Parker with the pale face, blackened veins and a void of darkness behind the eyes.
Raising the Necrosword, Knull brought it down on Steve-
Only for Spider-Man to jump in the way as he grabbed the Necrosword with both hands, looking at Parker's possessed and unconscious form.
"Spider-Man doesn't kill people."
He wouldn't let the possessed boy kill his own idol, he could never get past something like that.
However, his strength was no match for that of the Dark God older than the whole Multiverse, and he went down on a knee, gritting his teeth.
Knull pulled the Necrosword back, making Spider-Man fall forwards before Knull stabbed him in the abdomen with it. Spider-Man gasped, blood pouring down his mouth before Knull hurled him away.
Spider-Man lay on the rooftop, also going pale with bloodshot eyes like Strange, as he realized what was happening to him.
Still, gathering enough strength, he staggered up a bit.
Down below, the Agents of SHIELD and Frank walked in, surrounding May, who they'd brought in with the hope that she could reach through to Parker, and were acting as her bodyguards.
Suddenly, Carnage leapt out of nowhere and kicked Yo-Yo from the back, sending her falling down before flipping and tripping Daisy, and then dodged the shots of the others, smacking Mack and Melinda away, then kicking Bobbi and Hunter off too, before spinning and getting behind Frank, and slamming him down after lifting him up.
Fitz and Simmons fired at him but he dodged and tripped them both too, then turned to May who was crawling back, staring at him in horror.
Carnage laughed madly, two of his fingers extending until they pierced May, impaling her as she screamed in agony. He retracted the fingers, preparing to kill May, when suddenly Daisy hit the psychotic Symbiote from behind with her vibrational blast, making it screech as it fell down to its knees.
The other Agents and Frank fired their flamethrowers at it, damaging it even more before Pavitr swung down and kneed it on the face, making it screech before slamming it down thrice by grabbing its head.
Then Carnage glowed red as Pavitr flipped away, Wanda lifting up Carnage and glaring at it, the Symbiote screeching still.
She pressed her fists and the Symbiote was destroyed on a molecular level. Carnage was no more!
Then Wanda hovered down near May, Pavitr and Frank helping her up.
"Wait", Wanda aimed at May's wounds, and red energy seeped into them, making May sigh in relief as she was healed. "You okay?"
"I will be when we get him back", May said, as they looked ahead.
"We got her, go", Wanda told the Agents, who nodded and split up, while Peter landed near them, supporting Spider-Man, who held his abdomen in pain.
"I think I'm in a lot of pain", Spider-Man said, and they noticed his face.
"I don't think I can heal that", Wanda said regretfully, while Miles, Miguel, Spidey and Gwen swung near them as well.

Some of the League were getting overwhelmed now, as Kal managed to hurl one Dragon out of the Earth, only for another to slice his shoulder with its talons, making him gasp.

Clark destroyed some Symbiotes with Heat Vision when 3 Dragons breathed fire upon them all, making them dodge.

The X-Men were getting overwhelmed too, as Jean's hand glowed, and she pointed at the Dragons, disintegrating three of them effortlessly.
The Phoenix Force was slowly coming out, it seemed.
Earth-199999
The whole Earth was surrounded by the darkness now that spread throughout the Multiverse, Knull standing on the highest building of New York, feeling his Symbiote engulf whole worlds, returning darkness to the Light riddled Multiverse.
The Dark God of the Symbiotes laughed.
He then looked down at the Spider-Clan, Wanda, May and Frank, and hovered near them, laughing once more. "You think you all can stop me now? I shall slay you all."
"Peter", May said, knowing he was somewhere inside Knull. "No matter what happens, I'll always love you."
Knull laughed even harder. "Of course, you think your love shall save him, huh?"
Parker's eyes opened, as he found himself in a dark space, the Void, suspended and restrained via black webs holding his arms and legs.
He began to pull, when Knull appeared in the Void before him. "You may be a mortal, but you get the privilege to live as gratitude for returning me to power."
As Parker tried to resist, Knull said. "I could not trust my own creations, my war with the Celestials and Gods spanned across existence. I lost my sword, my Dragons, and then my freedom, but you, Peter Parker, you returned to me everything."
Parker roared at Knull. "I am nothing for you! I shall get out of here, and you will pay for hurting my loved ones!"
That enraged Knull, and his claw-like fingers stabbed through Parker's side, making him scream. Then the Void began to shake, confusing both.
Outside, Wanda blocked a blow from Knull, then he swung the Necrosword at her, but it stopped.
All noticed this, Spider-Man grunting. "I know you're in there."
"And we need you to fight back!" Peter said as well.
"Take this son of a bitch down", Frank snarled as well.
"Come on, we know you can do this!" Pavitr cheered.
"Take this Dark God out!" Gwen urged him too.
"Come on, man, we believe in you", Miles said too.
"Only you can defeat him", Miguel said as well.
"Come on, show him what you have, we are the Spider-Clan!" Spidey cheered too.
"Peter, remember what Ben said?" May asked, as she, Spider-Man and Peter said together. "With great power, comes great responsibility."
Parker continued to resist and pulled. "You will never have me."
Knull looked at him in disappointment. "You are alive at my mercy...I see it was wasted."
He raised his Necrosword.
Knull screamed as tendrils of dark energy shot towards Wanda, Spider-Man, Peter, Miles, Miguel, Spidey, Gwen, Pavitr, Frank and May.
Wanda tried to hold them back with her shield, gritting her teeth.
Back at the place where the Council of Godheads was, the Gods looked down at the battle.
"Should we not go and help?" Horus now wondered too. "Whether we die or not, they need us."
"We can't increase his power", Hades pointed out.
Lord Shiva and Lady Parvati looked down, then looked at Lord Krishna, who stood with a blank expression.
"Do you have something in mind?" Lady Parvati inquired.
"I believe you do", Lord Shiva realized.
Lord Krishna could feel the love that Wanda, May, Frank and the whole Spider-Clan, as well as the Avengers and Defenders had for Parker, all different kinds of love, and the love Parker had back for them as well.
And he could feel something else coming.
This feeling made him smile, as he said to everyone. "Today, love shall have victory."

He looked down at his hand, raising it up. And then a bright light glowed from his hand.
On Earth, a bright light glowed up in spite of the darkness covering everything, and Knull looked up at that in shock while Wanda's shield shattered as she staggered back.
Steve looked up too, surprised.
Stephen helped up Surfer as they too looked at that light in surprise.
Thor and Loki shared a look, wondering where this was coming from.
All the Gods watched at the light radiating from Lord Krishna's hand.
Knull snarled, his dark tendrils shooting towards Wanda, Frank, May and the Spider-Clan at full force.
A giant ray of light came down from the bright light that was glowing above, and wrapped around Wanda, Frank, May and the Spider-Clan, forming a protective shield around them as Knull's tendrils were actually burnt and he screeched, staggering back.
Krishna looked at his hand blankly, the light now glowing even brighter.
Knull screeched louder as the protective light around them glowed brighter, making him stagger back.
The ones under the protection were just as surprised though, looking at the shield that had formed around them.
Steve looked down at what was going on, and actually had to smile.
Krishna looked at the light with a very slight smile, as it got brighter.

Another bright ray of light shot down from above, Thor and Loki watching it with narrowed eyes.
The light added to the protective shield around Parker's loved ones, making it glow brighter as Knull tried to strike with his dark energy again but it was burnt.
By now, almost everyone was watching what was going on, seeing this divine light forming a shield and protecting Parker's loved ones.
The ones inside shared looks of surprise, but of the good kind. Whatever was happening, they were thankful for it.
Soon, another ray of light joined the protective shield, and soon, another one, making the shield glow even brighter.
Knull roared, firing pitch black energy at it once more, but couldn't penetrate it while it seemed to push him back.
Krishna glared downwards then.
Suddenly, a lot of the Symbiotes that were nearby fell at Knull's feet and another ray shot at them, incinerating them as Knull was nothing short of shocked.
He tried to blast the protective shield again but failed, as divine light from the shield snaked up his tendrils and struck him, making him screech in pain due to the divine light while his tendrils faded.
Pavitr could tell this was divine intervention and joined both hands, closing his eyes as he held up his joined hands to his forehead.
Thor and Loki shared a look and laughed, knowing this was the Council.
The light from Krishna's hand finally faded.
Knull fell down, feeling damaged from this divine Cosmic light.
Wanda, Frank, May and the Spider-Clan looked around as the shield around them then faded, while the bright light from above faded too.
"What did you just do?" Horus asked Krishna. "If you could have done this, why didn't you do it before?"
"I did not do this, Lord Horus", Krishna smiled while shaking his head. "It was the love that they all had for Parker, and Parker had for them, that did this."
That answer confused Horus before Krishna pointed out. "Due to the various other forms of mine, and my own various other roles, people forget that I'm also considered a God of Love. Not like Kamdev or Cupid, but all kinds of it. Romantic, motherly, fatherly, brotherly, all of it."
They realized what had just happened as Hades asked. "So, did you just convert all of that love into this divine Cosmic energy?"
Krishna's smile was answer enough as Horus said to him. "You are the greatest!"
Shiva and Parvati exchanged a smile, then looked at Krishna, who looked down. "However, at day's end, it is not I who shall stop Knull."
Knull looked at Parker in rage. "Looks like it is time for you to die, so I can kill them."
Then a very familiar voice called out.
"PETER!"
And this is done finally. Strange and Spider-Man are dying, yes, poor both.
Hope the battles against Knull as well as Venom and Carnage were enjoyed.
So, here's what Lord Krishna did- the love that Wanda, May, Frank and the Spider-Clan as well as the rest had for Parker, and the love Parker too had for them all, he used his power to convert that love into actual divine Cosmic energy, and formed a shield to protect Parker's loved ones from Knull's assault and also weakened him to some extent.
Plus due to how powerful he is, he didn't need to be on Earth to do this either.
So, you can say love is helping save the day, in a way that is not cliché or cringy either.
But at day's end, someone else must stop Knull, and you'll see who soon.
So, while divine intervention happened, it was only due to the feelings of the Heroes, and this divine intervention did not fully save the day or beat the bad guy, just gave a little push against Knull is all, but that's what's needed I say.
The efforts of the Heroes are not downplayed by this either I'd say.
