It had been a good day thus far. It was Valentine's Day, a holiday that her boyfriend particularly hated with a passion, but Sakura had been able to keep his mind off of it for just long enough to take him to a cute little cat cafe for lunch before his head shot up, eyes alert, and told her that they had to leave.
"Why? What's wrong?" She asked, raising an eyebrow as he looked around.
"They're coming, I can feel it," he responded seriously, glancing back with a frown.
She tilted her head in confusion for a moment before it finally hit her. She gasped and turned. "... you don't think..."
"Of course they found us, they stalked me for a whole year of middle school." He was irritated now, backing away from the cafe as a rumbling sound grew closer. "Oh shit-"
Now she could see a group of girls turning the corner across the street, and she paled.
"Don't just stand there," he snapped, grabbing her wrist and pulling her along. "Run!"
Sakura did her best to stumble into a run as they raced away from the cafe, a screaming horde of fangirls in close pursuit behind them.
"SASUKE-KUN!" They screamed, raising their arms and trying to go faster.
"Just when I finally have a boyfriend to celebrate Valentine's Day with, and this happens?" Sakura asked herself, frustrated as they skirted around a corner, trying to lose them. She glanced back to see the leader of the group yell to follow them. "Sasuke, what do we do?"
"We lose them in the farmer's market up ahead," he replied tersely, his grip on her wrist slackening enough so that he could grab her hand and squeeze it tighter. "C'mon, there's no way they'll be able to find us there."
She nodded, momentarily stumbling over a pebble and letting out a small yelp.
As soon as they reached the small little farmer's market pop-up, they weaved in-between the groups of people, muttering 'sorry's and 'excuse us's until they reached a small alleyway to duck into.
"Huh? Where'd he go?" The leader asked as they stopped in the middle of the path.
One girl saw a boy with black hair and gasped, "Aha! Sasu-"
When the boy's shoulder was tugged, he turned around, confused, to reveal green eyes.
"Do I know you?" He asked.
"Nope, sorry!" The girl apologized, backing into the crowd again.
Sasuke and Sakura managed to hide behind a dumpster in the alley, catching their breath.
"Whew..." she whispered, heaving a relieved sigh. "You think they're gone yet?"
Sasuke peeked around the edge of the dumpster. When he heard no more yelling, he tentatively nodded. "I think so."
Sakura glanced down at their joined hands with a small smile and a laugh. "Some adventure today's been, huh? Sorry that we had to spend the day like this."
Sasuke looked at her in confusion for a split-second before he understood. Blushing slightly, he turned away with a frown. "It's better than... spending it alone."
"Aw, Sasuke-kun," she cooed, leaning in to kiss his cheek. "As much as I enjoy some time alone with you... this dumpster reeks and I think I've got chewed gum on the bottom of my shoe. Wanna get out of here?"
He nodded, helping her up. Anything to get out of this disgusting alleyway.
