Epilogue

"There you are.." Ross sighed. "I've been looking for you everywhere."

Ross approached his wife of three hours, his breath caught in his throat as he found her standing in her wedding dress, staring at the sun that was beginning to set – a soft smile playing on her lips as her hair swayed along the wind.

She was breathtaking.

When she had walked down the aisle earlier today, Ross could've sworn he had never seen a woman as beautiful as she was today. He had always found Rachel beautiful but she was different today. She was truly breathtaking. She exceeded every expectation, every dream he had ever since he was fifteen. He couldn't believe that after today, she'd be forever his wife - his future, his dream come true.

His voice finally caught his wife's attention as she slowly turned around. She was still smiling at him, though she rolled her eyes when she spoke.

"Well, it's not my fault if the groom was too busy talking with his colleagues that he forgot his own bride."

"So, what? You're stealing babies now?" Ross cocked his eyebrow, gesturing toward the baby boy in his wife's arms right now.

"No.." She smiled shyly, kissing the baby's head gently and cradled him closer. "If you must know, this little guy is a better company than my husband is.. So I'm taking him to enjoy this breathtaking view whilst my new husband ignores me."

"I wasn't ignoring you." Ross frowned, walking closer to wrap his arm around her waist, the baby in the middle. "I was talking to my fellow professors for a few minutes and suddenly you were gone. I missed you.."

"That's cheesy."

"You love it, you marry me."

"-and sometimes I wonder why." She rolled her eyes before smiling toward the baby in her arms, giving him a tickle.

"I'm going to pretend not to hear that." Ross laughed and kissed her again. "He really is cute." Ross murmured, brushing his hand gently through the baby's dark hair.

"He looks so much like his daddy."

Ross grinned. "He really does."

"-which I haven't decided if it's a great thing or not."

"Oh, you're mean." Ross laughed, leaning in to kiss his wife.

"Stop hogging the baby." Monica groaned, approaching the newly wedded couple with her own husband in tow. "-this is your wedding and I don't want to explain to the guest why the groom and the bride are suddenly missing."

"Can you blame me? He's really cute and would you look at those feet." Rachel gushed. "They're so tiny and so adorable."

"He really is cute, I can't really blame you for stealing him." Monica sighed, leaning in to kiss his nephew's temples. "Aside from his blue eyes, he's a spitting image of his dad."

"Well, it looks like the DNA test was never needed after all.." Chandler chipped in. "It sure as hell saves a whole lot of money."

"I can't believe you said that." Monica groaned. "Just don't let Joey hear you."

"Don't let Joey hear what?" Joey came in, a huge grin on his face as his eyes glued to the baby boy in Rachel's arms. "-and really, Rach? You can't just kidnap my son. I was looking for him everywhere. Give him back to me, it's time for him to eat."

"He's hogging the baby again, isn't she?" Phoebe joined the group with Mike. "You should just ask Ross for another one, you know. It's not so hard to make one." Phoebe smiled proudly, her hand laying on her prominent baby bumps.

"I uh.. I'm not.." Rachel sighed, her cheeks flushed as she avoided Ross' gaze. "Your aunt is just being mean." She murmured softly. "I guess I'll see you later, little guy." Rachel kissed the baby's cheeks before handing him back to his dad.

"Come on, son. I got you dinner.." Joey cradled his six-months-old son into his arms and smiled the whole time.

"I still can't believe you're a dad." Rachel murmured as she leaned into her husband's arm, their hands intertwined. "You do a great job with him, Joe. I'm proud of you."

"I'm trying my best." Joey murmured as he gave his son his bottle.

"You're a great dad, man." Ross smiled.

"You really are." Chandler added, a proud smile on his face seeing how his best friend had grown up the past few months.

"We really are proud of you, honey." Monica sighed, reaching out to brush Joey's son's hair. "Not everyone can do what you're doing."

"I gotta do what I gotta do.. He's my son, you know.." Joey smiled at each of the friends, slight tears in his eyes. "I just love him so much." He murmured, kissing his son's head, earning a smile from the baby as he held his tiny finger for his dad to hold.

Joey's entire life changed the moment a woman showed up in front of his door, her pregnant belly was so prominent, no one could've missed it. It turned out that she and Joey had a one night stand eight months before, resulting in an unplanned pregnancy. It was hard looking for a stranger when the woman didn't even know Joey's last name and she had been looking for him everywhere but she couldn't find him.. Until one day, she saw his commercial on the television and finally learned his full name which eventually brought her to the front door of Joey's house.

The woman didn't want a child, but she didn't want an abortion. She was planning to have the baby and then put him up for adoption, but after knowing about his son, Joey stepped up. He couldn't just abandon his own child. So against all odds, Joey Tribbiani became a single-parent.

He became a dad.

Luca Tribbiani was born on a sunny December morning in L.A and he brought so much light to his father's life, Joey decided to change for the better. Joey put his old life behind him and focused on raising his son. There were no more nights with random women, he now had a son who depended on him and on the day Luca was born, Joey vowed to be a better man for his son.

The first few months of being a father were really hard, it was almost impossible for him to raise his son alone without the help of family and friends. So, he decided to give up his dream as an actor, came back to New York, and opened up a small sandwich shop back in Queens - in the same neighborhood he grew up in.

Joey had been staying in New York ever since and the gang had been closer than ever. They offered help as much as they could. Just last week, Ross and Rachel had offered to babysit Luca, giving Joey the night off for himself. Rachel had been so great with Luca that Ross couldn't ignore the way his wife's eyes sparked every time she held the baby in her arms. It was only a matter of time before he and his wife would have a serious conversation about adding another member to their little family and Ross couldn't wait for that day to happen.

".. and now I'm going to find my baby and give her a big hug." Rachel sighed, looking around to find her daughter. "Has anyone seen Emma?"

"She's with my mom, she took her to go potty." Ross smiled, kissing the top of his wife's head. "Let's go grab our daughter, I still owe her a dance."

"-and I still owe Ben another dance." Rachel grinned.

"Of course." Ross laughed, his heart swelled from the way his wife had accepted his son. "Come on, let's go get the kids and we'll dance."

"Yeah, let's go.." Rachel smiled, grabbing her husband's hand and giving it a squeeze. "We'll see you later guys."

"Have fun!"

The sun was finally set and as the sky darkened, the whole venue was illuminated by the strings of lights. A soft music playing in the background as the crowds gathered around the dance floor with the groom and the bride as the main focus of attention.

Rachel kept her gaze on her husband and her stomach filled with butterflies by the way he was looking at her right now. He always had his way to make her feel like she was special - like the two of them were the only people in this world, but the way he looked at her right now was different. It was tender but yet intense. There was a mixed of emotions in the way his hazel eyes shone that made her whole body shivered and her knees went weak. She wanted to capture this memory and keep it in her heart forever.

She almost couldn't believe that two years ago she made a great mistake – a mistake that almost caused her their entire future, but instead of growing apart, it brought her closer to Ross. She had made so many decisions that brought her to today over the years, but forgiving him and giving him – them – another chance was the best decision she had ever made.

Since the day they got back together for the last time, Ross had never failed to show his faithfulness toward her. Not once did he give her reason to doubt him, to not trust him. He continued to show her the mature side of the man he had become and she did the same too. Together, they grew into better people. Together, they learned from their mistakes and tried their best to make things work between them. Together, with the love they shared for each other, they built a family – a home.

And today..

Together, they stood in front of their family and friends as they recited their vows, their promises for each other.

To have and to hold.

For better, for worse.

For richer, for poorer.

In sickness and in health.

To love and to cherish.

'Till death do us part.

There were no words that could've described her feelings when the priest pronounced them as husband and wife. Aside from the day her daughter was born, today was undoubtedly the best day of her life. All the boys, all those horrible breakups, and all the heartaches it came along with were finally worth it because if not for those things, Rachel wouldn't be here today as Rachel Geller, instead of Green.

A loud shriek interrupted Rachel's train of thoughts and she smiled when she found the sources of the noises belonged to a six-month-old baby boy.

Everything worked out well in the end and not only for her and Ross, but for Joey too, Rachel mused as she looked over her husband's shoulder to find Joey swaying along the music, a big grin on his lips as he held his son, Luca in his arms. The baby let out another shriek, gaining the crowd's attention toward him. Apparently, just like his dad, baby Luca loved being the center of attention.

"Can you believe it?"

"Believe what?"

"That." Rachel murmured, nudging her head to the direction where Joey was dancing with his son on his hips, oblivious to the rest of the world. "I mean, he used to steal Emma's baby food and now he's a dad.."

"Right, I still can't believe he ate that gross food.." Ross' laughed as he tightened his grip around her waist. "I'm really happy for him.. Though I can't say I wasn't surprised the first time he called us to tell us that he's having a baby boy."

Ross chuckled a bit as he recalled the day where he received a bizarre phone call from his best friend. They did stay in touch, but it'd be a lie if he said they didn't drive apart. Over the years after Joey had moved to L.A, they'd been trying their best to keep in touch with him, but sometimes their lives got in their way and that day Joey called Ross was the first time Ross had heard of him in over a month.

Ross could've sworn Joey was trying to pull some kind of pranks when he had told him that he was having a baby and he was thinking of moving back to New York. It was only when Ross received an email of the baby's sonogram that Ross truly believed that his friend was telling him the truth.

The concept of Joey being a dad was admittedly something Ross had never thought of before. Joey was a nice guy, but Ross had always thought that he wasn't ready for the whole settling down thing, let alone being a dad and a single-parent. His friend was so carefree and still acted like he was still in his 20s most of the time, but it turned out that Ross was wrong because in the middle of the crisis, Joey grew up and he stepped up for his son.

Ross couldn't be prouder and happier for his friend. Joey might have not found love like the way Ross had with Rachel, but somehow he got the different kind of love – perhaps the best one there was. Having children changed people in so many ways and it changed Joey for the better.

"Yeah.. I didn't see that one coming either." Rachel smiled. "I would never think of Joey as a dad, but looking at him now.. he turns out to be a really great dad."

"He really is.." Ross mimicked her smile before turning the attention back to his wife, his fingers travelled to her cheeks as he caressed them lovingly. "-but let's not let him steal our thunder tonight, this is still our wedding and I want to focus all my attention on my beautiful bride."

"Of course, it's not everyday we get married." She grinned before leaning in to capture his lips with hers. "Hmmm.." She hummed against his lips, their foreheads touched. "I loved being married."

He grinned. "Yeah?"

"Well... it's been only a few hours, you can ask me again in a month and maybe the answer will be different.." She smirked, teasing him.

"That's mean." He frowned.

"I'm kidding, honey.." She giggled, kissing his pouty lips. "-but Monica did mention something about the end of the honeymoon phase and something about wanting to kill Chandler for not taking out the trash when she told him to.."

"Oh, it was his fault. Chandler is an idiot. I know better than not to listen to the wife."

Rachel coked her eyebrow, amused. "Oh, and you do, do you?"

"Of course."

"Hmm.. then what about last week, huh? Remember the leaking faucet? I remember having to ask you three times before you finally picked up the phone and called the plumber."

"That was different."

"Oh, really? How?"

It was the way she was looking at him – as if she challenged him – that made Ross think twice before opening his mouth again. Somehow in just three hours, Rachel had perfected the whole wife look and Ross knew better not to argue.

"-because I was stupid and now I've learned my lesson." Ross nodded. "-and I won't repeat the same mistake again."

"Oh, good save." She giggled, leaning in to kiss him again before resting her head on his shoulder as they continued to sway along the music.

He kissed the top of her head and then resting his head against hers as he once again glanced sideways toward where Joey was now sitting. His friend did look really happy, probably happier than Ross had ever seen before and seeing the father-son moment brought a smile to his lips.

He knew what it was like to love someone the way he loved his two children and he was glad that Joey had that in his life.

Joey deserved that, he deserved to find his own happy ending. It might not be perfect, it might not even be close to normal, but it made his friend happy nevertheless and that was what mattered most. Each of their friends found their happy ending in their own different way, and he found his in Rachel and their children today.

Ross sneaked another glance at the petite blonde wrapped in his arms and he felt his chest tightened with so much love for his wife. He knew that marriage was only the beginning of the rest of their lives. And if the last decade taught Ross anything, sometimes plans didn't go the way you planned it. He knew that there would be so many obstacles, so many fights they needed to get through together. It wasn't going to be easy, but somehow as he held her in his arms right now, he couldn't think of any reason why they wouldn't make it.

Just like their friend, Joey, he and Rachel had changed for the better and he had so much faith in them. This was going to be his last wedding and probably the only one meant to be.
