Three days had passed since Rin's punishment, but the gossip that spread throughout the three palaces did not end there. Supposedly, after she and Sesshomaru had consummated, the empress had learned of the royal decree, stripping the consort princess of her other worldly possessions and her temporary banishment from the Northern Palace. To say she wasn't pleased was an understatement, but it was soon learned from the servants that Rin's punishment would soon be lifted.
Of course, it was only thanks to the empress's involvement that this occurred, especially considering they were related. But there were no complaints from Sesshomaru, not that he would dare defy his mother, especially in front of them. And before long, another decree was issued, one which would continue the consummation between all his wives before the next full moon cycle.
On that third day, Sesshomaru arrived at Kanna's residence in the Imperial Harem, but upon entering her room, he found the young woman asleep in her bed. A heavy smell filled the air, and he covered his nose with the sleeve of his golden robes. That scent. He recognized it.
There was no doubt in his mind that Rin or perhaps one of the other concubines had slipped a drugged incense into Kanna's bed chamber, thus not only disturbing his royal duties for the evening, but also aiding him from avoiding it entirely.
After handing the scented incense jar to his eunuch, with orders to have Advisor Naraku examine it, since he was far more acquainted with such, he turned on his slippered feet to leave. But a thought struck him, and he turned his gaze further down the path of lighted lanterns. The evening was far from over, and deciding to dispel the rumors of his involvement with Rin, and sparing the harem of further drama, he clutched the golden ball chain in his hand and smirked.
At this current moment in time, he now had a way to diminish his nightly affairs with the other women, and it was all thanks to Advisor Naraku. The spider demon, who is both knowledgeable in magic and certain medicines, created an item that would not only help him escape his royal duties to his harem, but would also trick the women into believing they had slept together.
A hallucinating drug that lulls the person into a deep sleep with fake imprinted memories. And the best thing about this item was that the effects worked fast, as he had already tested it on a few of his trusted servants. After visiting the rest of his harem, he would then pay Kagome a visit. It was time that the two of them had an important discussion.

I'm sorry to make this chapter short. Recently went through a breakup with my bf, and I'm completely heartbroken. I'm having trouble maintaining my motivation, and I think from this moment forward, I'm going to write short-straight to the point chapters in order to finish this story. I know that if I put this story on hold... I might never return to it. Long chapters stress me out enough as it is... So, I'm going to try and finish the story with frequent short updates.
