"Are we sure Lunatone is safe?" Flannery asked, while clinging to Lance.
"Don't worry." Lance assure. "Each of my Dragonite are trained to be able to carry a Pokemon egg for hours without breaking it."
"Weird, but useful." Flannery admitted. "How are you doing Milotic?"
"Mi mi." Milotic said in a positive tone as she was held by the second Dragonite who was being ridden by Riley.
"Up ahead." Lance called out.
Flannery looked into the horizon to see a city surrounded by extremely high walls, and a large red creature in the center.
"Ash and Groudon are already there." Flannery said in shock.
"Then we need to work fast." Lance said. "As long as there's still an ocean we're not too late."
Off in the distance
"How are you holding up Walter?" Steven asked.
"It's Wally, and I won't lie. I've been better!" Wally screamed as he held onto Magnemite who was attached to Steven's Metagross. "How are you standing up?!"
"Metal plates in my shoes keep me magnetized." Steven said calmly. "Drake how's things looking?"
"Not great Steven, we've lost sight of Kyogre and Archie." Drake said from his ship.
"But we know he's heading for Sootopolis City." Brendan countered.
"And if we walk into there without a plan, we're goners." Drake barked.
"I've already contacted Juan and Wallace and let them know of the situation. They have moved all residents to higher ground for the time being." Steven said. "But they also said Groudon is there."
"Great, both our plans failed this time." Drake groaned. "Alright kid, you ready to fly?"
"Why does that sound more like a threat than an offer?" Brendan gulped.
Moments later
"I'd this really the safest option? What about Salamence?" Brendan asked.
"Kid, both Groudon and Kyogre are in that city, your best chance of making it in there alive is with Flygon." Drake said. "Now keep your hands at your side, chin up, and keep your mouth shut."
"So my screams don't attract them?" Brendan asked.
"That and you don't swallow any bugs." Drake said, patting Flygon before it rocketed off.
As Flygon dove over the cliffs, Brendan was able to steal a quick glance at the Pokemon in the center of the city. Kyogre had who had to be Archie on his back while fighting Groudon with some person in a red cloak commanding it.
"Brendan?" Flan wry asked as he landed. "Where's Wally?"
"Glad to see you made it too." Brendan said. "Wally's with Steven still, where's Ash?"
"Ash got taken over." Flannery said in dismay. "He's controlling Groudon right now."
"Great." Brendan said. "So any ideas on how to stop them?"
"I had hoped your dad might know something." Flannery admitted. "Is he okay?"
"A bit weak, but he'll survive… I hope." Brendan admitted. "And he didn't say anything about stopping them."
"Mind if I give an idea." A man said walking up. "I'm Juan, the gym leader of Sootopolis City, and in theory the orbs are like any other item."
"Meaning if we can get them!" Flannery realized. "Groudon and Kyogre would stop rampaging!"
"Until they saw each other, then it would be a fight to the death." Brendan groaned. "And the only one that can stop that is Rayquaza, and who knows where they are right now."
Back in the sky
"Steven, why aren't we stopping?" Wally asked.
"Both Groudon and Kyogre have awakened, we need to get Rayquaza." Steven said.
"But Team Sky has Rayquaza." Wally pointed out.
"We don't know that, all we know is last time either that Michael boy or Rayquaza were seen, they were together." Steven pointed out.
"I think he goes by Mikey." Wally piped up.
"Nonetheless, as you know, Kyogre has the Blue orb, and Groudon has the red orb. Both allow a human to control them." Steven said. "Well, about 6 years ago, a team of us worked on creating a simmilar object to control Rayquaza, should the need ever arise."
"And we're going to that project to get it?" Wally asked.
"No, the false orb shattered and the project was a waste, or so I thought." Steven said. "Until you kids came across a shard of it."
"We did?" Wally asked.
"The stone you brought to Wattson that you all thought Pikachu was supercharging from, it was doing the exact opposite. Pikachu was supercharging it." Steven explained. "Wattson wasn't even sure that was it until I took a closer look at it."
"So we're going to give it a boost and call for Rayquaza? But why not do it in Sootopolis?" Wally asked.
"We're going to the highest point in Hoenn, hopefully once we're up there, Rayquaza will hear us." Steven said.
"And that place is?" Wally asked.
"Sky Pillar." Steven answered as the spire became visible in the distance.
High atop Sky Pillar
"So, do we just wait, or sing a song?" Wally asked, as he looked around at the empty area.
"It still needs a bit of a charge." Steven said, pulling out the light green gem.
"I don't think Magnemite is in any condition to give that kind of energy, even if he had a strong enough electric attack." Wally admitted.
"Not to worry, I came prepared. Aggron come out and use Thunder!" Steven called, throwing both a Pokeball and the gem into the air.
A heavily armored Pokemon landed in front of the two, before launching an incredibly powerful burst of electricity at the gem. When the gem finally landed, it was a deep green in color.
"So who will be controlling Rayquaza?" Wally asked, looking at the gem.
"I will be the only one controlling Skydios!" Mikey said, as Rayquaza curled about.
"Is this him?" Steven asked.
"Yeah." Wally sighed.
"Look, we don't have time for these games." Steven said sternly. "You can't expand the sky its impossible. You need to get off of Rayquaza immediately for the sake of all of Hoenn."
"LIES!" Mikey cried out. "I will not fall for your tricks false champion!"
"False champion?" Wally asked.
"Don't, its a weird situation." Steven said. "Now just hand me back the gem and we can settle things peacefully."
"I will never give into peace. I am the leader of the most villainous team in all of Hoenn! Peace is never an option!" Mikey said, getting back onto Rayquaza, the green gem in hand.
"Wait." Wally said. "Groudon and Kyogre have been awakened by Team Aqua and Team Magma, and if they continue their rampage, there will only be sea and land, if you don't stop them, there will be no more sky."
"No more sky!" Mikey said in fear. "They must be stopped! How else can I be the most villainous team ever! Where are they!?"
"Sootopolis City." Wally said.
"SKYDIOS WE FLY TO SOOTOPOLIS!" Mikey cried out.
"I can't believe that worked." Steven said in shock.
"I didn't think it would work, but I had to try something." Wally admitted. "Now lets go, Sootopolis is going to need all the help they can get."
