Chapter 14:
His first stop was his locker, grabbing necessary things and placing away unnecessary things, and with that, off to English class. They were learning about Shakespeare, a man Aiden has a far knowledge of, but doesn't find as fascinating as Aeschylus.
The class was right up ahead. No one was in yet, so he places his books at the best spot available, and he left class. As he strolled down the hallway, he saw all the eyes on him, well not all, some couples making out against the lockers.
"Huh, I thought that was only in the movies." He commented to himself. He knew he was the center of attention these days. Was he bothered by it? Yes, he was.
But he realized why he was the center of attention, on his locker was a sticky note. "Hey, what's this?" he asked himself, removing it from the locker door. He looks around, trying to see who placed it there. When he found no one, he opened the note, reading it:
Dear A,
Thank you for standing up against Sebastian, he has been a pain in my neck since I broke up with him.
I want to make it up to you for my approach earlier this week. Meet me on the roof.
G.
'Weird' was all he could think. So, using the small map he memorized, he found his way on the roof. There she was, the dark hair, Hispanic beauty. Gulping, he felt a lump in his chest, one he found complicated to swallow down. But, scratching enough courage together, he took one step at a time, gaining distance with the door, his only escape route.
He went to stand next to her, her eyesight was focusing on the city. "It's a great view up here, isn't it?" she asked. It was indeed, and Aiden agreed. "So, you were the one writing that note huh?".
"Yes. I am sorry for my creepy approach a few days ago. I have a reputation to keep. Being a cheerleader and all." She stated, genuinely looking apologetic. But he wasn't bothered by the whole thing, he just wants to get to know her. "No worries. No harm, no foul.".
"So, I am throwing this party this weekend, you should come." She said, smiling. Aiden frowned, party? Do all teenagers invite kids from their class like this? "Let me guess, a reason to get drunk and hooking up with teenage crushes?" he asked, the O'Neill charm taking obvious effect on her.
"No alcohol. So you have nothing to worry.".
Aiden then smiled again, "I'll consider it.". He turned around and left her there. Why would she invite him to a party? She barely knew him! Guess he'll need to wait and see.
Class started and Stevie was seated next to him. Exchanging notes and theories while working on their classwork. He could feel a pair of eyes on him, he slowly turned his head, yup, she was staring at him, but when she realized he noticed, her eyes averted back to the teacher.
Stevie, being more observant then people give him credit for, only rolled his eyes, it was obvious these two liked each other, why not hook up or something?
Break time was quiet, Aiden eating his lunch while Stevie was catching up with some math homework he forgot to do. All the while, Aiden was concentrating on something else, that girl, she was in his mind, and he couldn't stop thinking about her, was he obsessed? Was he in love? What is it about her that made his brain stall?
