CASSANDRA'S P.O.V.

I tried to convince myself that I was only shaking in fear on the inside and she wouldn't be able to tell how nervous I was. I knew, from all my years perfecting my craft, that the fear would never show on my face, but it was almost as if she could smell it. Just like the way an animal stalks its prey...it smells fear.

"Hello, Cassandra." she said as she walked by me and thru the front door. Who the hell does she think she is? Walking into my house as if she owns it. But then again, Gemma played her part as the reigning Queen of Charming perfectly.

"Gemma." I responded as I walked into the kitchen to refill my glass of wine. I wasn't sure if there was enough wine in the house to get me through this visit. Jesus take the wheel, I thought to myself as I regained my composure and walked back into the living room where she and my Uncle were seated across from each other. Gemma, in one of the high back chairs, and Joe on the couch.

"You look well, Cassandra." she said to me. "And you've been busy sine the last time I saw you. When was that 5 years ago now?" she asked as if she didn't know.

"Oh, you mean since the day I showed up looking for my biological Father and you practically slammed the door in my face after threatening my Uncle? A threat you obviously made good on even though I left town without ever meeting my Father." I replied angrily, as the memory of that day came rushing back.

CASSANDRA'S P.O.V. - 5 Years Prior

I held my breath as I heard footsteps on the other side of the door. I had been waiting almost twenty-one years for this day. The day I was going to meet my biological Father. I had been to Charming a few times during my life but had always been rushed in and out with my Mother. We would go to my Uncle's rundown home or stay in a hotel just outside of town. We would see my Uncle Joe, my Mother's brother but no one else.

My Mother had been raised in Boston, Massachusetts and lived there almost her entire life other than a short period of time when she lived in Charming, California with her Brother. That was before I was born. That was when she met my Father and began a relationship with him. That is when something happened that neither my Mother nor my Uncle would discuss with me. All I know is a short time after her relationship with my Father ended my Mom moved back to Boston and then I was born.

My Mom died when I was thirteen and I had no other relatives that I knew, other than my Uncle Joe. He somehow made sure I was always looked after but never really taken care of. I was enrolled at a boarding school in New Hampshire and from there attended Carnegie-Mellon before being discovered by an agent. I stopped in Charming on my way to LA and that is why I'm currently on this doorstep.

"We're not looking to buy any Girl Scout Cookies." was said by a woman who answered the door. Nice greeting, I thought to myself as I took in her appearance. Early 50's would be my guess I thought; however, she had the body a twenty-year-old would kill for. She was wearing a pair of skinny dark jeans, a black V-neck tight shirt with a pair of over the knee leather boots. Her long dark hair with blonde highlights fell in waves around the shoulders. There was a scar down the middle of her chest and the all-telling crow tat over her left breast. A tattoo I had seen once before, on my Mother.

"Hi. I'm looking for Clay Morrow. I was told this is his house." I replied, trying to keep a smile on my face. I could see her giving me an up and down once-over. Obviously not happy with the impression I tried to make. My...

CASSANDRA'S P.O.V. - Present Day

...My thoughts were interrupted as I watched Gemma get up from her seat and walk over to the mantle. Displayed was the two Golden Globes I won for my portrayal as a supporting character in a television series.

"My, my Cassandra, you've definitely come a long way from being that naïve girl who showed up on my doorstep. Oh, I'm sorry. That's right, you don't go by Cassandra anymore do you? It's Cassidy now, isn't it?" she asked, in a distrusting tone.

"It doesn't matter what my name is does it really, Gemma? Just tell us what you want and you can be on your way before you manage to spoil the entire evening and dinner my Uncle made for the two of us." I responded. I was determined to not let the reigning Queen of Bikers see me upset ever again.

"Why don't you start by telling me why you're back in Charming . I thought after our conversation five years ago we agreed you wouldn't be coming back to this town. And after what I've seen in the media you're a little too busy to be here between your work schedule and your love life. And isn't awards season about to start? Rumor has it you're going to win Best Actress for your recent role at all the big shows." she said quickly, a little too quickly. She seemed a little on edge. And I could work with that.

"I'm not the same girl you ran out of town five years ago. I've been back here for six months and I've stayed away from my Father. But I'm not sure how much longer I'm going to wait. I want to meet my Father, Gemma. You can either help make that happen or you can stand in my way. I don't think you want to stand in my way." I replied.

I watched her look me up and down again. "Huh." she said as she grabbed her oversized bag and threw it over her shoulder. "She's definitely got a set of balls on her Joe. I'm guessing that's your influence. Probably a good thing because she is going to need to be strong if she is going to be part of the family. I don't know if they'll find you before tomorrow night or not since they already know you're due at the police station tomorrow morning but if they don't, we are having an after-church party at the Clubhouse tomorrow night. Come and I'll introduce you to your Father." she said. She didn't say another word, just gave me a strange look before she turned and walked out the door.

I turned wide-eyed and looked at my Uncle. "Holy shit!" I said. "I'm finally going to meet my sperm donor." My Uncle, looking wary, responded "Clay Morrow is not a man you want to cross. Be careful little one. I really wish you stayed in LA and didn't convince me to let you move to Charming."
