12:14 a.m.
They ambled along the side of the road, in no particular rush, Alex bumping hips with the brunette repeatedly as they talked.
"We'll have to try their pizza one night, Liv. I know you love your pizza," Alex oozed next to her, holding onto her upper arm, and pressing herself to her side.
"One of my favorites, Babe." Olivia smiled before taking in a deep breath filled with salty ocean air and the smell of the wild chamomile that grew high up in the mountains to their right. "Mmmm, that smells so good, Al. You smell that?"
She heard her wife take a deep breath followed by tiny, successive sniffs. "I smell your perfume…I smell…" Alex sniffed a few times once more, "…the ocean…and…" she sniffed a couple more times, "…French fries…"
Olivia giggled. "I smell all that too, but you don't smell that earthy, sweet, herby smell?" She took in another deep breath and let it out, moaning. "It's like nature's perfume."
She felt Alex's hold move now and clench her waist tightly, squeezing firmly, as the lights from their small village began to come into view. Their quaint house was the first one on the winding road that led behind it and up into the hills of the other houses and the hotel, and so their journey was almost over.
"We didn't leave the porch light on, Liv? I told you to leave it on, Babe."
"I could have sworn I left it on, Al. I remember flipping the switch up on our way out. I know I did," Olivia said, narrowing her eyes.
They approached the doorstep, the lack of illumination making it difficult to make out anything within five feet of them.
"Good thing there's only one key on the keychain, right?" Olivia offered, poking around at the spot where the lock was supposed to be.
She felt Alex pushed up behind her, the blonde's hands moving from her waist and around to her belly, placing the flats of her palms on the brunette's lower stomach and squeezing.
"Hurry up, Babe…" Alex whispered against her ear.
Olivia smiled and the key finally slid into the key hole. She turned it and then pushed the door open, met with the hallway light ahead and the faintness of the kitchen light to the left and the bedroom lights to the right.
"I gotta go to the bathroom," Alex breathed.
"Really this time?" Olivia giggled.
"Pretty sure, Liv. Full bladder this time, Babe…" Alex rushed around the brunette now and headed towards the bathroom, talking the whole time. "The moussaka was so good tonight, Liv. And that cheese? Uh, delicious."
Olivia smiled and set the key in the blue ceramic dish next to the phone on the tiny table straight ahead before moving back to the front door and inspecting the switch, flipping it up and down, up and down, and peeking outside to check the bulb. "Looks like a burned-out bulb, Al. I knew I left it on but the bulb is blown, Babe."
"Do we have any bulbs, Liv? Alex questioned from the bathroom, the sound of flushing and then running water now.
"I'll check the cabinets in the kitchen. I think I saw that one had some tools, so there might be one in there." Olivia moved toward the kitchen now, scratching the back of her head vigorously with her fingernails and yawning.
"And I'm kinda hungry, Liv. I know we ate dinner but I could go for a little snack…maybe one of those peaches in the fruit bowl?"
Olivia squatted down and opened a cabinet—the one she knew to have the tools—and moved some things around, coming across a small box of two lightbulbs. "Found one…" She stood now and closed the cabinet, sliding one bulb out carefully and then setting the other one on the counter. She felt her wife's warm body against her back then, hot breath against her left ear, and she smiled. "Feel better?"
"Mmmm hmmm," Alex oozed, kissing the side of Olivia's neck slowly, letting her tongue swipe firmly against her flesh.
"Uhhh, Babe…" Olivia tried, "…let me replace this and you have your peach…" Olivia closed her eyes now, feeling as hot erotic, breathy kisses continued along the back of her neck, moving around to the right side now, sucking softly, the brunette able to feel her own flesh being pulled inward by her wife's mouth. "Al…"
Alex stopped and patted Olivia's hips firmly two times before she moved to get the aforementioned fruit from the wooden bowl atop the counter. "Want one?" She raised her eyebrows holding the light orange fruit in the air.
"I'll just have a bite of yours, Al…if that's OK…" she smirked.
Alex returned the sentiment and proceeded to the sink to wash it. She grabbed a paper towel as Olivia moved back to the front door and unscrewed the old light bulb and replaced it with the new one. Reaching for the switch, she flipped it upward, the front porch being illuminated with a bright glow. "All fixed," she announced, closing the door now, locking it, and bringing the burned-out bulb into the kitchen.
"My wife saves the day," Alex offered before taking a huge bite of the peach, slurping up some of the juices that escaped the corner of her mouth.
Olivia crept toward her now, her eyes not leaving her wife's eyes, her wife's mouth. She placed her hands on Alex's waist, moving down to her hips, and then slid them around to her backside, getting even closer now, inching her face forward, as well. "May I?"
Alex's eyes moved to Olivia's mouth as the brunette opened her mouth and then seductively took a large bite of fruit, then licked the peach from bottom to top, before beginning to chew, her eyes not leaving Alex's focus.
"Mmmm, really good…" Olivia winked.
"Jesus, Olivia," Alex whispered. "Take me now, Baby…"
Alex was already panting, her breaths coming out in shallow bursts, her mouth slightly parted.
Olivia took the peach from her hands and set it on the counter top before she took Alex's face in her hands and gave her a deep, exploring, eye-rolling kiss, feeling her own body respond to the mewing noises and sexy feel of that strong tongue pushing inside of her mouth.
When the kiss languidly broke, Alex panted, her eyes closed. "Everything's locked?"
Olivia nodded, going in for another hungry kiss, this time turning their adhered bodies and backing her blonde wife towards the bedroom.
They hit the foot of the bed and Olivia began to take the sides of her wife's dress's elastic and push it downward, over her breasts, and down toward her waist, her wife trying to do the same, but having difficulty with what the brunette was wearing. Olivia smirked, looking down at her wife's bare breasts and then in one swoop, pulled her own top over her head and tossed it to the side. Olivia grabbed her wife's face once again and adhered her mouth to hers, their breathing heavy.
Olivia moved her hands to her wife's full, milky globes then, squeezing, pinching, earning a low moan from Alex before letting them linger there for a few moments, feeling and hearing as Alex's breath came even quicker now. The brunette moved her hands to her wife's waist then, hooking her thumbs into her dress and underwear and tugging downward, Alex helping her along, all the while their mouths continuing.
Olivia tilted her head back, smiling, her mouth open in pleasure, feeling her wife's mouth now along her neck and upper chest and she moved her hips forward to gain further contact with her wife's body. "Uhhh, Alex…" Olivia moaned. "I need you…"
She felt a tugging at her own skirt now and the ladies stopped only briefly to remove the remainder of their clothing, before pressing themselves to one another once again, their kissing never ceasing.
Olivia let her wife's mouth go with a small, suction-filled pop and then uttered, "Lie down, Al…" She opened her eyes to find blue pools darkened, that dewy, pink mouth parted, those porcelain cheeks flushed.
Alex sat at the foot and backed herself toward the head, Olivia crawling with her the entire way before the brunette straddled the blonde, looking her body over.
"So beautiful, Alex…" Olivia leaned forward then, placing a hand on either side of her wife's shoulders, and pressed her mouth to hers, feeling those strong, feminine hands grip her breasts and toy with her nipples before holding them firmly in her palms. Olivia let out a moan and smiled, biting her lower lip. "You make me feel so good, Alex…" She opened her eyes, feeling her emotions begin to fill them. "Always have."
Alex reached for her face now and Olivia moved in close once again, their mouths moving along the other's once more. Olivia let her right hand begin a path down her wife's body then, lightly tracing her skin—chest, breasts, belly, waist, hip, upper thigh, and moving slowly toward her center, using light fingers to entice the blonde's lower lips. Alex wrapped her left leg around Olivia's waist them, those eyes urging her to continue, her hands now moving to Olivia's backside and clenching firmly.
"You know I love those magical fingers, but…I want your mouth, Liv…" Alex said breathily. "That glorious mouth, Baby…"
Olivia only nodded her understanding and began her way down her wife's naked form, stopping to delicately pleasure every inch of skin she could before languorously settling herself in between her wife's milky thighs, eyeing her sex before looking up and into her wife's beautiful eyes.
She let her tongue dart outward then, before slowly starting at the bottom of her slit and swiping upward, hearing her wife's breath hitch, and watching her eyes close and her head sink further into her pillow as she let out an erotic whine of pleasure.
Olivia smiled and then continued, using her tongue to slowly, lovingly bring her wife to the ultimate brink of pleasure, watching her reaction intermittently, her right hand stroking the smooth skin of her upper thigh and breast.
Alex's breathing was gradually turning into a quickness that the brunette new all too well. Her wife was close. She knew the nuances, the sounds, the air pressure shift in the room and within seconds, the blonde's body froze and she squeaked, her back arching up away from the mattress, before wailing a long, drawn-out groan of satisfaction as her body began spasming with her orgasm, all the while Olivia's mouth never ceasing.
Alex let out a final, long breath, returning her back to the bed, and sighing contentedly. "Jesus…"
Olivia smiled, biting her lower lip, and beginning to giggle as she kissed her way back upward along her wife's still trembling body. Nestling herself to her wife's right and wrapping her arm around her middle, she looked up at her wife's rosy cheeks, only admiring the work she had just done, the satiation she had just given.
"My God, Olivia," Alex said, her eyes still closed.
"Like we always say…" Olivia began.
"That'll never change," Alex finished for her. "Damn right it won't." She took in a another deep, cleansing breath, her body beginning to relax even more.
Olivia closed her eyes now, just enjoying her wife's warm, bare skin, the feel of her in her arms.
"You're always so happy with yourself, aren't you?" Alex's smile could be heard through her lazy words.
"How can I not be? The sounds you make? Watching your body react. The expressions on your face. The way I know it's really good when your back does that curve thing…" Olivia kissed her wife's upper right chest.
"It does do that curve thing doesn't it?" Alex smiled.
"Yeah, Babe. And mine does too."
"Give me a few minutes and I wanna make your back arch, Liv…I promise…"
"We have all the time in the world, Al. Just relax," Olivia said softly.
They lay together, eyes closed, just being.
Finally, Alex spoke. "Sometimes, I think that we're so used to taking care of domestic concerns and necessities and making those a priority, after being mothers and being married for so long, we forget that, when we're completely alone, by ourselves, that we can do what we want. You know?"
Olivia furrowed her brow, her eyes still closed. "What do you mean?"
"The light bulb."
Olivia narrowed her eyes, now looking at the ceiling fan above the bed. "The light bulb? I don't get it."
"Well, the light bulb was burned out and I was kissing the back of your neck and beginning to try and awaken your senses and get you going…and you changed the bulb first. Like that was the most important thing to do at that moment…"
Olivia lifted her body now and propped herself on her left elbow. "Ahhh, so, you're telling me, that you would have been OK if I left the porch pitch black, and then we started to make love, and then maybe you hear a noise? And you get scared and we have to stop. Then I have to get dressed and go and check it out. And then I do and then I come back and the mood is g—?"
Alex placed a gentle finger against the brunette's speaking lips, beginning to giggle. "Shut up, Liv…but you're right…now that you put it that way…"
"Oh, Alex…I know you by now. I knew that if I didn't change that bulb, something would have happened." She relaxed her body against her wife's again, wrapping her arm around her, Alex clenching her forearm firmly before beginning to stroke her skin with her thumb.
"You're right. I would have obsessed about it, Liv."
"See?"
They lay in a quiet comfort once more.
"It's sad about that woman, isn't it? Olivia started.
"It is, Babe. Remember my Aunt Margo? When she came to the beach house when we were engaged and she thought you were a man and your name was Oliver?"
"And she thought you were a doctor? Not remembering it was your brother instead?" Olivia finished.
"Yeah…it's hard to see family members go through that, no matter how mean or nasty they treated you."
"It is, Al." Olivia kissed her wife's shoulder again.
Olivia remembered that particular trip to Southampton all too well. That was the time that Alex's Uncle Don attacked her in the bathroom. Thinking of Aunt Margo brought up the thought of that experience, even though she didn't want it to enter her mind.
"Liv?" Alex asked.
"I'm here, Babe."
And at that moment, Olivia knew that her wife knew exactly what she was thinking about. The brunette took a deep breath and let it out slowly, trying to keep her thoughts in check. If she wasn't careful, that thought and memory would spiral and boulder into more unwanted experiences.
"Think of a happy memory," Dr. Taylor reminded her, more than once in their therapy sessions. "Whenever those thoughts creep in and you don't want to entertain them, think of happy memories."
"You OK, Babe?" Alex asked, now stroking her upper arm softly.
Olivia took another deep breath and smiled before she closed her eyes. "Yeah, Al. I'm OK."
A moment later.
"Uncle Don?" Alex asked.
"Yeah, Al…" Olivia whispered. "How did you know?"
"You're body…it tensed for a moment…stiffened…"
Olivia nodded, "Yeah…" she kissed her wife's shoulder again, "…I know…"
And now she had no doubt that her wife had known exactly what she had been thinking about.
Twenty years ago. Engaged. Alex's trusted uncle attacking her. Shaking with anger, with violation.
Olivia closed her eyes tightly and thought of Theo and his adorably handsome smile and those amazing blue eyes. Isabel and her perfect nose and sweet funny charm. Grace and those big, gorgeous brown eyes and that beautifully regal poise.
Her children.
Her joys.
Her sanctity.
Her loves.
She felt her wife's lips on her forehead then and she looked up and into those mesmerizing blue eyes. Her wife was here. Everything was good. Everything was perfect. She smiled at her.
"I love you, Alex…" Olivia nodded, feeling her eyes fill with tears. "So much…"
"And I love you, Olivia Benson…forever…"
Olivia lifted herself up and aligned her face with her wife's, placing a gentle kiss on that full, warm mouth, savoring the touch, the closeness before pulling away and opening her eyes.
"I'm tired, Babe," Olivia said before yawning widely.
"Me, too, Liv…" Alex said softly.
Olivia sat up now and pulled the sheet from the foot of the bed upward and enveloped both of their bodies in it before laying on her back and feeling as her wife moved closer to her and rested her head on the brunette's left shoulder, holding her tightly.
"Another day tomorrow, Liv…"
"I know, Al…another perfect day…"
"Beach, right?" Alex said almost inaudibly.
"Yeah, Al...beach..."
And within moments, the ladies were asleep, each feeling the love, the closeness, and the security they felt when they were together. Knowing that with each other, they could weather any storm.
