Saturday at eight in the morning Harry was in the town of Hogsmeade with dozens of students. At least that's what it looked like at any rate. In truth all of students were sleeping off a draught given to them by the professors. In their places were the polyjuiced aurors. Amelia Bones was at his side and polyjuiced to look like Hermione Granger. Hermione had not been happy but the idea of the head of the DMLE beside him rather than her made it a bit easier to swallow. The two were now walking through the town window shopping.

"I hope you know what you're doing." It looked like Hermione and sounded like her but the mannerisms were a bit off.

"I do." Harry grinned, "Don't be pouty."

"I am not pouty." She declared.

"You are." Harry chuckled, "I didn't take your offer and you're pouty."

"Not too many people would turn down that offer." She frowned, "It was generous."

"It was but…" Harry didn't get any further since the popping sounds of apparition filled the streets.

"You know what to do." The voice of Lucius Malfoy called out, "Be quick about it."

A chorus of torture curses were shouted by the group in front. A few aurors that had volunteered were struck by the curses and went down screaming. The rest of the 'students' looked to be frozen in fear. Harry was about to throw a curse when he saw something that made him pause.

"Nagini is here." Harry frowned, "I've got to kill it."

"Wait, Tonks is closest." She tapped an invisible badge on her chest, "Big snake coming your way Tonks. Cut her up."

"Tell her to morph into me." Harry told her, "That way he'll come find me and not her."

"Morph into Potter before you do it." She added.

"Got it." She replied before Harry saw her, in his own shape, locate and kill the snake with a series of cutting curses.

Harry then moved to stop the group. A stunner took out one of the frontline death eaters.

"Potter!" the man in the mask yelled.

"Lucy!" Harry yelled back, "Long time, no see. I wish it was longer."

"New objective." Harry could hear the sneer, "We'll take Potter to the Dark Lord."

"No need, Lucius." The hissing voice of Voldemort announced his presence, "I have bigger issues with the boy. Your arm Lucius."

"My Lord." Lucius bared his mark and allowed his lord to call in the rest of the death eaters.

"Kill everyone in Hogsmeade and then we'll take the school." Voldemort snarled, "Your friends will pay for your insolence Potter."

Amelia touched her badge again, "All auror's, target one has arrived. Take them all down."

She then dodged the first of the killing curses Voldemort sent out. Harry dodged the second and began flinging spells back at the man. Amelia planned on joining him but Lucius Malfoy took her attention instead.

"You filthy mudblood." He snarled.

"You don't seem to be under the imperious curse." Amelia grinned and blocked his first spells.

"Idiot girl, don't believe everything you hear." He smirked, "I have no weaknesses. I can throw off that curse easier than Potter can."

"Good to know." Amelia grinned as she felt her Polyjuice begin to wear off, "Just so you know, I'm not Granger."

"What?" he asked and she was able to petrify him.

"Amelia Bones, at your service." She grinned as she began to change.

More death eaters arrived as she stunned him, tossed one of the special portkeys on his body and he was whisked away. The captured ones were being sent to a special cell. In the cell block were several retired aurors and the trainees. They were tasked with stripping the captives down and replacing the clothes with prison issue and putting everything on the person into an evidence bin. Then the captive was placed in a cell.

Her next opponent was Greyback, a killing curse took him down. She cut his head off for good measure. The next three were stunned and sent to the ministry. Before another could step up everyone was blown over. She got her bearings, jumped back up and stunned three of the closest death eaters who were still struggling. Potter and Voldemort were nowhere to be seen.

"Boss, I think Harry apparated him away." Tonks rushed up.

They heard the sound of a faraway explosion and could see the two men again fighting far down the valley.

"Harry has got him contained for now, let's keep this group from escaping." Amelia stated, "If he gets away, he won't have all his followers to help him."

After Harry dodged that first killing curse, he started with just the wand spells he should have known. He did over power them but they would expect that fear driven spells would be. What they wouldn't be expecting is how long he could keep it up. After a while Harry noticed that the buildings were taking damage. He ran forward and used a shield that pushed a great deal of wind before it. It would block spells but Merry said it could also unbalance an opponent. When it did so Harry got close enough to grab him and apparate them both away. They didn't go far, but it was far enough down the valley that no one would see him switch to wandless except Voldemort. He wouldn't survive to tell anyone.

"Afraid I'm going to hurt your little friends?" Voldemort laughed.

"No." Harry stuck his wand into the holster Amelia had given him, "I'm just tired of playing."

"Are you planning on punching me?" He laughed harder, "You can do nothing to me without your wand."

"Actually, I was going to share the prophecy with you." Harry repeated the memorized lines.

"You have no power I do not know." Voldemort sneered and sent the killing curse again.

Harry stepped out of the way of the spell and sent back a few wandless cutting curses. Voldemort was shocked enough by that small display that he didn't move quick enough and one of them nicked his shoulder.

"That's first blood to me." Harry grinned and started throwing more curses.

Voldemort got over his shock quick enough and started fighting back. Soon enough the spells were exploding all around them. Flame whips, dirt storms, tree splinters, rocks and several other things they could use from the environment around them were flung through the air. Both were beginning to tire when Harry had a thought and pulled his wand out as he was still fighting with his left hand. At the next killing curse Harry sent a disarming jinx and the wands connected. Voldemort concentrated on sending the spell thread back to Harry while Harry used a wandless cutting curse with his left hand that cut off Voldemort's head. The remaining body fell with a dull thud and Harry hit his knees breathing heavily. Several pops nearby had him pulling up his wand again. However, it was Amelia and the aurors so he dropped his hand and lay down in the grass.

"Harry?" Amelia knelt by his side.

"Just tired." He waved and tried to sit back up, "Maybe a few injuries too."

"Maybe a few." She agreed, "Shack, whats the verdict."

"Dead." He called back.

"How sure?" she wanted to know.

"Head removed from the body sure." Harry answered her.

"Very sure." Shacklebolt answered having not heard Harry.

"Up you get Harry." Amelia stood and held out a hand for him, "Poppy let us set up a field unit in Hogwarts hospital."

"Ug." He let out a grunt as he was pulled to his feet.

He stumbled a bit but was caught on his other side by Moody, "Where's your want Potter, any of us could be polyjuiced or a turncoat and you'd be helpless."

"It's right here at your stomach." Harry poked him a bit.

"Smartass." Moody grumbled but nodded anyway.

"Tonks, come port Harry to Hogwarts." She called.

"Yes Boss." She turned from where she was helping a few others bagging Voldemort's body.

She reached for Harry's arm but he kept out of her reach. She grinned, turned her hair red then pink again before he nodded and allowed her to grab his arm, then the two of them disappeared in the swirl of the portkey.

They were met by wands in their faces and Tonks again did a bit of metimorphing before they dropped them.

"Hey Remus, fancy seeing you here." Harry went to hug the man but fell on him more than actual hugging.

"Hi Harry." Remus just picked him up and carried him into the private room and sat him on the bed.

He helped Harry remove his clothes as Poppy bustled around him healing the injuries and giving him potions. Once that was done, he put the pajamas on and finally fell back into the bed.

"I'm giving you dreamless sleep in ten minutes." Poppy stated and left the two alone.

"How are you doing?" Remus asked.

"Fine, he was nothing but a rabid dog needing to be put down." Harry sighed, "He wasn't fully human you know."

"He did seem pretty… snakey." Remus admitted.

"He split his soul." Harry explained, "We had already killed six pieces of him before today. Today the last two pieces of his soul was sent on."

"We who?" Remus asked.

"The goblins, Dumbledore and I." Harry answered.

"Dumbledore was killed in the battle." Remus let him know.

"He was dying." Harry told him, "I'm sure I'll have more emotion for it later, but the curse on his hand said he would die by summer anyway."

"Your parents would be very proud of you." Remus ran a hand through Harry's hair, "So would Sirius. I'm pretty proud of you myself."

"Thanks." Harry yawned as Poppy came back through the door with a cup in her hand.

"I'm staying to keep watch." Remus settled back in his chair.

"Shouldn't you be resting too?" Harry asked.

"I was on a mission for Dumbledore." He shook his head, "I was supposed to be finding out when the attack was going to happen. I got back in time to help Poppy with the first injuries. I tried to come help but Minerva said I didn't know the plans and I could mess something up accidentally."

"Good, I'm glad you didn't fight." Harry downed the dreamless sleep potion and dropped off.

It took several days before Harry was allowed out of the Hospital. His first stop was the room of requirement. Hermione and Remus were with him, neither being ready to let him out of their sight.

"You're still here." Harry commented.

"You still need to talk to me." Merry replied.

"It worked, we won." Harry took a seat on the chair across from the portrait, "Didn't get to use the new transfiguration though."

"I've heard it was quite impressive." Merry grinned, "Many are wondering where you found some of those spells."

"Family magic." Harry replied, "At least that's what I'm going to call it."

"Technically it is family magic." Merry grinned, "You are my grandson, several times removed of course."

"Is that why you chose to help me?" He asked.

"No, I chose to help because you needed it and were willing and capable of working for it." Merry grinned, "I am related to a good portion of your fellow students. I would not help many of them."

"You're Merry Potter?" Hermione asked.

"No." Merry chuckled, "I came well before the name Potter was started."

"The Potter name goes back more than three hundred years." Remus stated.

"I was old when the young ones created this school." He grinned.

"You must be as old as Merlin." Harry grinned.

"I'm exactly as old as Merlin." He agreed.

"You are Merlin, aren't you?" Hermione asked.

"You have the mind of a Ravenclaw." Merry grinned, "However, you must either promise to keep my secret, or Harry will obliviate you for me."

"I won't tell." She shook her head, "I've kept all Harry's secrets, I can keep yours as well."

"Me too." Remus volunteered.

"Can we continue training?" Harry asked.

"For as long as you come to Hogwarts, we can." Merlin agreed.

"Even if he becomes a professor himself?" Hermione asked.

"Even then." Merlin laughed.

"What exactly did you teach him?" Remus asked.

"Why don't you show him Harry?" Merlin asked.

"I'm restricted, but I think the self-transfiguration would be ok. It's more concentration than power." Harry grinned.

"Good idea." Hermione snickered.

"You beat You-Know-Who with self-transfiguration?" Remus asked confused.

By the time Remus finished asking a green-eyed owl sat in Harry's place.

"You taught him to be an animagus?" Remus turned to the portrait and then turned back to ask a question but it stuttered to a stop when he found a yellow-eyed eagle sitting where the owl had been, "That's not possible, you only get one form."

"He's not an animagus." Hermione laughed, "He can transfigure himself into an animal, but there are no animal instincts, no taking any traits, and no remaining the same animal. It's similar to an animagus but harder because its new every time."

"How long have you been training him?" Remus turned to the portrait.

"Just since the first of October." Merlin smiled, "He's a quick study."

"How did self-transfiguration help you defeat Voldemort?" Remus asked.

"We only spent a week on that." Harry grinned, "The rest of the time was spent on wandless, wordless casting. Once we left the village, I only used my wand for one spell. The rest were wandless."

"Which spell?" Merlin asked.

"Disarming." Harry explained, "Our wands are brothers. When we cast simultaneous spells, they lock. Then I used a cutting curse to take off his head."

"Good, that's about the only way to ensure they're dead." Merlin agreed.

"You can do wandless magic?" Remus sounded doubtful.

"Anyone can." Merlin told him, "Little babies do it all the time."

"That's accidental magic." Remus deadpanned.

"It may not be controlled, but it's still wandless." Merlin argued then turned to Harry, "He's a closet Ravenclaw isn't he."

"He is, but usually he can stop himself from questioning everything." Harry replied.

"He avoids it by sounding doubtful." Merlin chuckled, "He's really saying prove it to me."

"Sorry Moony." Harry grinned as he stood, "A show will have to wait, I'm starving."

Merlin waved until they left the room. A second man entered the portrait.

"I told you he was worth the effort." The new man said.

"I didn't argue it." Merlin grinned at the red headed man, "I never bet against a Gryffindor when it comes to war."

"That's why you always backed me." The man grinned.

"Of course, it was." Merlin chuckled, "Betting against Godric Gryffindor is as stupid as betting against his descendants."
