CHAPTER 1:
As Esther and Donald were sitting down to dinner on March 13th, they still had many details to finalize for their upcoming wedding.
"Nice job on the burgers, babe," Esther said.
"Thanks. Likewise, I hope the fries came out good," Donald said.
"Definitely. So, what have we got left to do before the wedding? We only have two weeks left," Esther pointed out, reaching for a bottle of ketchup in the middle of the table.
"Well, I should probably call the catering company and make sure everything is ready to go. Also, I need to call my parents and make sure they got their plane tickets to come into town for the big day," Donald thought out loud.
"Good idea. As for me, I still have to call the florist to see if the flowers will arrive on time," Esther said.
"I'm sure they'll be ready for our big day. So, how will it feel not having Flo as a roommate anymore?" Donald asked.
"Well, Flo and I have been discussing it. I know this sounds kind of weird, but what if we all moved into the same house - you, me, Flo, and Unicycle? That way, we could all still spend time together and maybe save on expenses. Of course, I know we probably want to have kids one day, so we'd have to find a big enough place with extra bedrooms," Esther pondered.
"Hmm… I don't know. How does Unicycle feel about this idea?" Donald asked.
"I don't know; I don't think Flo has talked to him about it yet. I hope he'll be in favor of it, though; I've gotten used to having Flo around, and I'll miss her if we don't live together anymore," Esther said.
"Well - let's see what he says. It probably would save us some money," Donald thought aloud.
The couple then proceeded to have dinner as planned.
The following morning around 11 a.m., Beca, Chloe, and Chicago decided to catch the annual St. Patrick's Day Parade in the city.
"I'm so glad you talked us into this, Beca," Chloe said.
"Of course. You and Chicago deserve a last hurrah before you two become parents," Beca pointed out.
"That day could be any day now. We're really excited about it," Chicago grinned.
"I'm just glad Jesse reminded me to put on my favorite green shirt before I left our apartment this morning. I would hate to be the only one in this crowd not wearing green. Not only that, but we were very fortunate to find that little Joey had a green onesie he could wear today," Beca said.
"Rumor has it that this day is a prime drinking day," Chicago said sarcastically.
"Don't even go there, babe; You know I can't drink while I'm pregnant," Chloe reminded him.
"I know. I was just saying," Chicago said.
About an hour later, Chloe was getting hungry. Beca remembered seeing a nearby deli on the way over and talked Chloe and Chicago into heading inside to see if they served any corned beef sandwiches. Chloe had never tasted one before, so she wasn't sure how they tasted. Beca assured her that corned beef sandwiches were a New York staple and ordered sandwiches for her, Chloe, and Chicago. Beca and Chicago watched while Chloe took her first bite.
"Well?" Beca asked, waiting for Chloe's thoughts on the sandwich.
"This is delicious!" Chloe said with satisfaction.
"Glad you liked it," Beca said.
"Definitely. In fact, I'll probably come here more often for these sandwiches," Chloe decided.
"Well, if you like that sandwich, you should go to Katz's Deli in Lower Manhattan," Chicago suggested.
"Yeah, they're famous for their pastrami and corned beef sandwiches," Beca added.
"Interesting," Chloe mused.
After they had their fill of sandwiches, the group headed back out to the parade crowd until the parade ended.
