Mon Cher Lucas,
I can't yet sleep and so I take pen to paper as has become my habit when you aren't with me, and I want to feel close to you. I missed you so much while you were away in UC, even though it was for just a couple of days. I feel a little silly because I have been alone for much of the past several years, but now that we are a couple, I feel the loss of your presence. Jack also was feeling it too, as he kept asking where you were. I don't think you will doubt this since you were kissed and hugged by both of us a number of times after you arrived. Jack barely let you out of his sight the whole evening and then insisted that you stay with him until he was asleep.
I so wanted you to stay, but I know that you needed to get back to check in with Gustave and besides it was time for me to prep for school tomorrow.
I am glad you said that you will stop by in the morning and have breakfast with us and walk me to school. I guess I am a little like Jack right now and don't want you out of my sight for long. I hope that you will also be able to join us for an early dinner as planned, so we can discuss the itinerary for the next two weeks. The festival and our families are going to be keeping us very busy.
I will try once again to sleep.
Good night my love.
Elizabeth
