Outside on a tree was a little creature that reminded shin-Ah of his pet squirrel, Ao. It had a very long tail like a lemur would have, and a face with almost a triangle pattern by its ears, and when the light hit it just right, it looked like a cat.
Names weren't his strong suit, but he reached his arms out, and the Ringtail came towards him. On his arm, it was nearly the same length as it.
"Ao?" he tried, but wouldn't it be too confusing to have two Aos nearby? "Seiryuu." Like the others called him, or, would naming a sweet creature the name of his cruel fate be awful?
The Ringtailed Cat curled up in his fur, and Shin-Ah figured there was time to give him a name later.
Just a year or two later meant new friends would walk into his life.
"You have a squirrel and a ringtail?" Yun's eyes were drawn to the somewhat long, definitely thin creature perched on Shin-Ah's shoulders.
"Ringtail?" Shin-Ah slowly spoke, though he could certainly understand that name. Its tail was decorated in ring shaped patterns all down the rather long tail.
"Sometimes called a ringtailed cat." Yun muttered though his face went pink.
So, the little creature had a couple different options to call it, but still no name, just like Shin-Ah; hopefully, both of that would change. And there'd be something warm to call the man and his newest pet, a name borne of love.
