My dear Elizabeth,
At long last, the eve before our wedding day. I am so glad that we left town and went to Benson Hills for a quiet dinner. For one, you were banned from the Queen of Hearts and Café by the decorators. They tried to ban me as well but since I am living at the Queen at the moment that was vetoed by me. And secondly, I didn't want my lovely bride to be making dinner and taking the spotlight off of our big day ahead. There will be plenty of time for cooking later. I have even been taking lessons from Gustave. He is trying to be patient with me; I have graduated to scrambled eggs now.
Julie understood our need to sneak away as it has been a busy week. Jack always loves Julie's visits so I am sure they had a grand ole time. By the state of your living room, I would say…. that is an understatement. I assume she will be the one enlisted to clear the "fun".
I will be so happy to wear your wedding gift tomorrow. Every time I fiddle with my cufflinks, I will be thinking of you…in other words, often. I am so glad that you like your wedding gift too. The necklace and earrings are going to look stunning on you tomorrow. I know that it was more extravagant than we agreed on, but I saw it and I knew this was yours. Besides, I hope that someday we might be blessed with a daughter and if so, that on her wedding day she will wear her mama's necklace set.
I just wanted to think about you before retiring for the night and make an entry for our journal. I love you beyond measure and can't wait for our wedding. I will be the one upfront in tails with a big smile on my face.
With all my love,
Lucas
