"You are going to be just fine," Bruce told him, after checking his vitals, " You may be a little tired for an hour still but you'll be back to normal in no time."
"Thank you Dr. Banner," Peter told him, getting off the table.
"Anytime Peter," Bruce told him.
Natasha had left Peter in Bruce's hands and went back up to where the rest of the Avengers were meeting.
Times like this made Peter feel left out, almost like he was just a kid that needed help. He started to walk towards the kitchen instead of meeting up with the rest of them, as he was hungry from not finishing his breakfast this morning and it was now a little past noon.
Finding the kitchen empty he started to make a sandwich to stop his growling stomach. He checked his phone, finding that Harry had been texting him.
"Hey Pete, just letting you know dad is fine. They said he had a seizure so they were wanting to watch him but you know how hard headed he is," Harry had messaged.
"Dad saw what you did and wanted to thank you. He was pretty disappointed that Tony had picked you up before he got to. Hope we can get together soon," Another text read.
"Hi Harry, I'm so glad you and your dad are okay. Any idea of who would want to hurt him?" Peter texted back.
"No idea yet. Dad is running a full investigation and trying to find more security feeds of the attacker," Harry wrote back.
"I hope they catch him. Of course I'd still want to hang out with you Harry. You haven't scared me off," Peter teased.
"Haha good. I just got back in town and I'd really like to still catch up," Harry wrote.
"Tomorrow I'm having dinner with May at the house. Why don't you and join us?" Peter Suggested.
"I'll ask dad, but I think that will work out," Harry wrote back.
"Perfect. I'll let May know to expect you. Say 6pm?" Peter suggested.
"Sounds like a plan. See you then," Harry signed off.
Taking another bite of sandwich he sat back in his chair and let out a sigh. Peter knew that Tony was not going to be happy with him. So Pete decided he wasn't going to tell him.
"It's not like it's his business," Peter thought, "I mean it's just dinner with May and some old friends. Plus I can see if Harry knows about anything more. I mean it could just be a coincidence right?"
After finishing his sandwich he went and grabbed a soda from the fridge and went to his work bench. Peter had the need to do something and tinkering kept his mind focused.
He pulled up a rolling chair to the desk and began working his web shooter fluid as he knew he was going to need some for patrol in a few days. Getting distracted by another gadget he had been working on as well was an underwater respirator for his mask he also grabbed that.
Tony walked in making Peter look up from his work.
"Hey kid, there you are," Tony greeted, "You doing better?"
"Hi Mr. Stark, yes I feel much better," Pete told him.
"Well I guess Happy was wondering if you were staying in the tower again tonight," Tony told the young man in front of him.
Peter glanced at the clock behind him finding several hours had passed since he came into his lab.
"Oh gosh Mr. Stark. I didn't realize I've been up here this long," Peter told him standing up.
"Looks like you're picking up my bad habit kid," Tony chuckled.
"Don't tell Pepper that she'll come kick me out like she does to you," Peter teased.
Tony made a zip motion over his mouth, "Your secret is safe with me underoo."
"So," Tony continued, "You know Norman Osborn?"
"Yeah. I grew up with Harry and Norman was like another father figure for me after my Parents had passed," Peter told him. Pete could swear he saw Tony flinch at his words.
"I see," Tony said, almost melancholy.
"Mr. Stark, I know you and Norman don't get along but could it be that he wasn't working on the supersoldier serum? What if it was for something else?"
"Kid, I know you want to believe the best in people but I don't know if your heart would be the right spot in this situation," Tony told him.
That made Peter upset. Even with the possibility of the Osbournes being innocent, Tony had all but said they were guilty.
"I think I'm going to go home," Peter said after a moment of quiet.
"You know you could stay if you wanted," Tony reminded, hoping Peter would want to stay.
"I know, I just think I need to go home and be with May tonight Mr. Stark," Peter couldn't meet Tony's eyes so he kept his on his lab station.
"Listen Pete I-" Tony started.
"If it's okay Mr. Stark, I'm going to get my stuff," Peter cut him off. Pete was not wanting to continue this conversation so he walked past Tony and out of the room.
Taking refuge in his room at the tower he sat on the edge of his bed just trying to get his emotions in check. Peter had a jolt of anxiety hit him as he had almost never been angry with Tony. It brought up unpleasant memories he had been used by Venom and trying to fight his way out of the med bay. Even so, Peter was still upset with how Tony was handling the situation. It was unfair to Mr. Osborn.
Peter shook his head trying to rid the thoughts as he got up and grabbed his backpack to head down to Happy.
Peter had made it halfway to the elevator before he decided he was going to swing home instead. He pulled out his phone texting Happy to let him know he didn't need a ride but he appreciated the offer.
Pulling on his mask Peter went out on the balcony and swung off into the slowly darkening city.
Tony had gone to go check on Peter after being brushed off in the labs. He had started towards Peter's room before thinking of just going down to wait by Happy so they could talk. Hearing the ding of the elevator Tony walked in. Getting to the lobby he was secretly glad that Happy was still here meaning Peter hadn't left yet.
"Tony," Happy greeted.
"Happy," Tony acknowledged.
"Is there something wrong?" Happy asked after an awkward moment of Tony just waiting by him.
"No nothing wrong, just waiting for Peter to come down," Tony admitted.
"Ah, what did you do?" Happy said knowingly.
"Why do you assume I did something?" Tony asked defensively.
"Because if you didn't do something wrong then why would you need to head Peter off down here?" Happy fought back.
"You know you work for me right?" Tony asked, just as Happy's phone buzzed.
"Well, looks like Peter won't be coming down," Happy told him.
"He decided to stay?" Tony asked.
"Looks like it," Happy told him, "he said he actually didn't need a ride home."
"Oh," Tony said, "Good. I'll just be going then."
"Anytime boss," Happy laughed, watching Tony walking back to the elevators.
