Tony had stormed into the building seeing the Oscorp car take off from the entrance. He just had the most annoying press conference and decided he didn't need to be at the Avenger's Campus to listen to their updates. Then seeing that car had to be the last straw in his book.

"Happy!" Tony yelled as he walked over to the man, "What is Norman's car doing here?"

"Well-. You see-" Happy wasn't sure where to start, He knew Tony was going to be upset knowing Peter had just left with them.

Tony was losing his patience when Pepper spoke.

"Oh he didn't," Pepper had put two and two together looking at Happy for an answer.

"He did," Happy told her.

"What are you two -?" Tony just as soon as he had said it hit him.

"Peter?" Tony asked, looking from Pepper to Happy.

"He came here to talk to you today," Happy told him, "He seemed down when you were busy. He has been here since the morning working at his bench. I guess somehow he got Harry and Norman to come pick him up."

"I can't believe him," Tony muttered.

"And las-" Happy tried to add

"And? There's an 'And'," Tony was frustrated, Peter was not listening to him. Tony in his mind knew Norman was no good and he was tempted to put a restraining order on them to keep their car away from his property.

"Tony, you're being unreasonable," Pepper told him, her mind thinking of how Peter must feel. His childhood friend comes back into his life to find out the mentor he's been working with hates their guts.

"Unreasonable? They could be working for Hydra for all we know! Peter is being stupid!" Tony knew was grasping for straws even with the possibility that Norman was working on a supersoldier serum. He had only been speculating but that was enough for him.

"Hey!" Harry yelled angrily, causing Tony to whip around to see Harry and a hurt looking Peter standing behind them.

"I forgot my backpack when Harry picked me up," Peter explained, sounding like he was about to cry.

Harry had caught the tone in his voice and stepped between Peter and Tony.

"Peter, I didn't know you-" Tony had started.

"Were here to hear you talking badly about him?" Harry cut Tony off, "Don't worry we're leaving. Come on Peter."

Harry grabbed Peter's bag and looked to him to leave as Peter willingly went with him.

"Pete," Tony called after them, getting no response .

"Peter, wait let's talk about it," Tony pleaded.

Harry turned and said, "He is not your property Stark."

With that the two left and drove off leaving the three stunned in place. Happy was silently cursing to himself as Tony put one hand in his pocket and the other was holding his hand to his forehead.

"I didn't know he was there," Tony said, a huge amount of guilt filling his words.

"I think I really messed up Pep," Tony continued.

"We all mess up Tony," Pepper told him, "Now what are you going to do about it?"

Tony took a deep breath and gathered his thoughts before walking over to the elevator to go up.

"I'm going to get him back," Tony told her as they entered.

In the car Harry was fuming and Peter seemed melancholy as they reentered.

"What happened?" Norman asked, seeing the noticeable change in the two young men before him.

"That Tony Stark was in the lobby talking crap about Peter in front of everyone," Harry explained.

"He was doing what?" Norman said angrily, "Why would he do that?"

"Just because we came and picked up Peter dad," Harry told him, "He was saying were working with someone and that Peter was stupid for coming with us."

"That's preposterous!" Norman was now just as angry as his son ," Peter just because we work with the military doesn't mean we aren't a straight and narrow company. I mean just look at Tony and his group of government sanctioned vigilantes. I hear they cause more than half of the destruction on the city alone."

"I think they said hydrant is who we are working for dad," Harry told him.

"Hydra, " Peter corrected, now curious as to what Norman would say.

"Hydra? Is that like a water company," Norman asked, sounding completely confused.

"It's a bad terrorist group," Peter explained, knowing that was just making it sound worse.

"He thinks we work with terrorists!" Norman was livid.

"Peter, you need to quit working for Stark Industries. Obviously their CEO is delusional," Harry told him,

Peter hated how they were speaking about Tony. Sure Tony wasn't perfect but that doesn't mean he isn't a good boss. The way Norman reacted made it clear in Peter's mind that he was not working with Hydra and that Tony was wrong. Peter still felt protective of Tony and the Avengers as they were friends. Not to mention Tony had been like father to Peter the last year and a half.

Peter sighed, "Is it okay if we drop the subject?"

"Sorry Pete, you're right," Harry took a moment, "Hey. Remember when we were younger and Ned tried to learn to skateboard?"

"Yeah, he fell off the very first second and broke his wrist," Peter gave a small chuckle at the memory.

"MJ was the only one to think to call for help," Harry recalled.

The car had pulled to a stop in front of a very expensive looking restaurant. Peter knew Harry had said they would pay but he felt apprehensive going to somewhere so lavish. When he would go out with Tony they at least got something easy and quick because Tony knew Peter wouldn't normally get something expensive and it made him feel awkward.

Harry noticed Peter's apprehension, "Don't worry about it Pete

Peter's time flew by as he caught up with Harry's adventures. Harry told him all about the different states and countries they visited and how he got to see all the different Oscorp locations around the United States. Peter hadn't traveled too much. Sure he had the occasional school trip, but that was the extent of his travels.

Coming out of the restaurant they were greeted by paparazzi and camera crews. Apparently someone in the restaurant had tipped them off .

A chorus of "Mr. Osborn" could be heard above the clicking of camera shutters.

"Let dad take care of this Peter," Harry whispered to Peter. Harry stood tall next to his father as Peter followed his lead standing as tall as he could next to Harry.

"Mr. Osborn, do you have any information about who attacked you?" One reporter asked, sticking her mic out for his response.

"Right now Oscorp is still running a full investigation into this incident and working with our local police department. We are giving the reins to them and they will be updating the public about their investigation,"Norman told them.

"Mr. Osborn are these the two boys who saved your life?" Another reporter asked.

"Yes, this is my son Harry Osborn and his best friend Peter," Norman looked over at the two putting a hand on each of their shoulders, "Peter is almost like a second son to me. If he and Harry hadn't been there I surely would not be here with you today."

There was a flurry of camera shutters and voices running into one another. Peter had been to press conferences before as Spider-Man but this time he was just him and he felt out of place.

"I'm sorry we are late for an appointment," Norman dismissed them, motioning for the boys to get to the car which was waiting for them now.

Peter got into the safety of the car and let out a sigh, making Harry chuckle.

"Didn't like the attention Pete?" Harry poked fun.

"I've never been good with being the center of attention," Peter told him as Norman got into the car.

"Well son, you better get used to it when you're a famous scientist," Norman told him.

"I don't think I'll be a famous scientist Mr. Osborn," Peter told him.

"Please Peter, it's Norman for you," Norman told him,"Will you be okay if we drop you off at home? I just realized I need to grab something from the office before we get something for dinner."

Peter thought for a moment. He wanted to go back and talk to Mr. Stark but his words had hurt him deeply. Tony often spoke his mind to a fault. Peter knew this about Tony and decided to give him the benefit of the doubt. Seeing he had time before he went to help May he still chose to head back to Stark Industries.

"You really want to go back there?" Harry asked astonished, "Even after what he said?"

"I have some stuff to talk to Mr. Stark about. Plus I keep hearing May in my head asking if we cleared the air," Peter admitted.

"That's no problem Peter," Norman told him, "We will see you in a few hours then?"

"Of course," Peter told him, "Just make sure you work off your lunch. May tends to go overboard."

"Oh I remember," Norman said, "I'll bring tupperware for leftovers."

Peter waved goodbye as they dropped him off.

"Dad, I hope Peter leaves this job," Harry admitted.

"I know son, but we all need to make our own mistakes," Norman replied as they drove off.
