AN: Hi, hello!
I've decided to dedicate this fic to the lovely Eddissy server that I'm apart of. Without their wonderful minds, advice and inspiration this fic would not be here. I would still be just a reader who refreshes the tag waiting for more content.
Also, big shout outs to Lyannas-loves, Rogue-Imp. and Nikki for this prompt and for reading all my silly drafts! ?
Fair warning, I haven't written fan fiction since middle school and Twilight was the fandom…. Yikes! This was half-assed proof read because I'm too impatient and wanted to get this posted asap so be nice. I'm sensitive! ?
Chapter 1
April 11th, 1986 - 3 weeks post Spring break.
This would happen to her.
The universe, God, would play this cruel joke on her, she thinks, as she holds the little stick in her hand.
Perfect, golden girl, Chrissy, is tainted. Spoiled, from one moment of self indulgence. An act of rebellion against her ever-demanding parents. An act against her shallow, fake peers. Against Jaso- she stops the train of thoughts.
Breathe.
Inhale.
Exhale.
She's going to be sick.
A sense of panic creeps up and through her body.
She feels tears well in her eyes as she studies the two other sticks that lay on the countertop.
What is she going to do? How ironic is it that she gets pregnant after losing her virginity?
She's only 17, almost 18 but so young. Too young.
How does she tell Eddie? Should she tell him? What would he think? This changes everything.
This changes EVERYTHING.
She quickly discards the results into the trash, flushes the toilet and wipes the tears that leave their mark down her cheeks.
She's suddenly hit with the urge to run.
Her room feels suffocating, as if the four, pastel pink, walls were slowly caging her in.

Chrissy wrings her hands together nervously as her friend Anna pulls into her driveway. She had told her parents they would be going out.
Anna Hill has been her closest friend since elementary school, practically a part of the Cunningham family. Her parents do not question the two, believing, trusting they are every bit the squeaky clean church girls they were raised to be.
Chrissy opens the passenger door and slides into the seat, hardly sparing Anna a glance.
"Well hello to you too." Anna mumbled.
A Wham! song fills the small space of the Hill's family car. Chrissy feels as if she's under water and the lyrics sound far, far away.
Everything around her feels unfocused.
"Are you finally going to tell me what's going on or why you asked me to um… oh I don't know…buy you freaking pregnancy tests,Chris?" Anna says as she eyes Chrissy with a look of concern. The car pulls off into the neighborhood. No destination in mind.
Releasing a breath, Chrissy peeks over at Anna. She suddenly feels so very small. Feels tears making their reappearance.
"Anna…I- I'm pregnant." The words whispered. She shudders, looking out the window.
There's a brief pause.
"Really? Oh my god- wait! Are you… are you really sure? Does Jason know?"
"Yes! Well no!" She interrupts, too quickly.
"Anna, listen to me. You have to promise me, I mean it! Promise me you won't say anything. No one on the squad can know. Not your parents, not mine, not…". She breaths deeply before continuing.
"It's complicated and I'm freaking out and honestly on the verge of jumping out of your car right now." She gasped.
"Ok, I promise Chris…" Anna reassured.
More silence passes between the two as the sound of Uptown Girl plays softly in the background. A sad smile, small twitch of her lips really, at the impeccable timing.
They drive through the suburbs of Hawkins. Gloomy clouds slowly moving above and Chrissy can't help but feel the weather is fitting. Fitting to the storm of emotions stirring inside her chest.
She tries to find some source of comfort from her closest friend and her favorite song.
Maybe the universe is showing her pity after all.
How funny.
"I'm sorry Chris. I love you and I know you must be feeling terrified right now but everything will be alright. You're not alone in this, ok?" Her best friend gently assures her.
—
They eventually pull up to the local park. Anna puts the car in park and looks around for any one they may recognize from school. Her grip on the steering wheel tightens slightly as she turns back to Chrissy.
"We don't have to talk about it if you don't want to."
"No, I… It's ok. I think I need this." Chrissy realized, feeling some of the pent up tension release.
"You… you said no earlier when I mentioned Jason…"
Chrissy blushes and hesitates before whispering, "It's not Jasons. We've never…" A pang of guilt, shame fills her stomach.
Anna's gasp makes her curl inward on herself. Breaking eye contact, she looks back out the passenger window, suddenly afraid to see her friend's reaction.
"Do you remember over spring break how I was constantly sick and stayed home? Well… I wasn't sick. I was with… with Eddie." She trails off quietly.

March 21st, 1986
Day before Spring Break
He should be here by now. He got her note in his locker, didn't he?
A strange mix of excitement and anxiousness consumes her. She's thought of this little meet up more than she cares to admit.
Chrissy Cunningham, secretly meeting, Eddie "the freak" Munson, in the woods behind the school. Almost as scandalous as her recent developing attraction to the long haired metalhead.
She found him utterly fascinating; enthralling. No, alluring.
She can't remember exactly how or when it started.
During passing hours in the halls, walking with Jason, tucked against his side, arm hooked across her shoulders, they played the golden couple for all to see.
Further down the hall, a beast of dark curls walked among the mere mortals of Hawkins high.
She's only really known of the tall, lanky, 19 year old from Jason and his teammates, who only referred to him as "freak" or "trailer rat".
Jason would whisper to her, " stay away from him babe. He's bad news. He's going nowhere." Their friends had claimed he was mean, scary and that he sacrificed animals to the devil himself.
She, on the other hand, found his antics to be amusing, inspiring even.
So much pressure to be choice, to be accepted, yet Eddie did not seemed bothered in the slightest.
How did he do that?
She found she admired his passionate expression very much and secretly wished that she too could act so… so free.
She also liked the way she would sometimes catch him looking at her, as if he knew her, really knew her. The look in his dark, expressive eyes, shyly looking at her, as if she was a long lost friend.
A small smile would bloom over his face when she met his glance.
One time, feeling brave, she smiled back.
A rosy blush painted his cheeks and he had quickly looked away, grinning.
Yes, she found she liked this very much.
Chrissy wanted to feel brave again.
A sound from behind her makes her jump slightly, pulling her from her thoughts.
Taking a step back and bumping into something hard.
"Hey, easy there!"
There he was, in the flesh.
