Chapter 5
April 15th, 1986
Wednesday was the earliest Annie's doctor could get her on the schedule. The appointment is set for 5pm, the latest they could do.
Both girls have cheer practice around that time and Chrissy is now having a slight dilemma worrying about how on earth they can both get out of practice for it. Being captain makes this plan seem twice as impossible to pull off.
What is she supposed to tell Coach Climmons?
The halls are flooded with teens, the air buzzing with loud chatter and gossip. It's a passing period before 3rd period and Chrissy weaves her way through the crowd, heading to the coach's office.
Pausing in front of Coach's door, she smooths her ponytail down and takes a deep breath before she knocks.
"Come in!" A voice chimes from inside.
She steps in the small office hesitantly and gives the coach a small nod.
"Good Morning Chrissy." Coach greets, eyes glancing up briefly before looking back down at a stack of documents laid out over her desk.
"Good Morning Coach… I was wondering if I could speak with you about something?" She asks
"Sure dear, take a seat."
She takes a seat, her fingers fidget with the ends of her pastel pink skirt.
"Um… I… I can't make it to practice today ma'am. There's been a sudden family emergency." The lie slips past her lips easily.
"Oh my goodness! Is everything alright dear?"
"Yeah, just um… My uncle is in the hospital and we were planning to go visit him, bring him some things from his place and just make sure he's alright. I'll still be able to make tomorrow's practice though! I'm sorry! I know it's so last minute but-" She stammers quickly.
"It's okay sweetie! I'm sure we can manage one practice without you. You let me know if there's anything I can do to help you and your family out, ok?" Coach Climmons says with a kind smile.
"I will! Thank you ma'am…I gotta run off to class now." She says, grabbing her pink backpack and hurrying out of her seat towards the door.
"Have a good one sweetie!"
—-
3rd period comes and goes. Chrissy doesn't see Annie until their only class together, Government, which isn't until after lunch.
She has her note ready for her. Just a small scrap of notebook paper with the simple message, 'Free from practice! Used family emergency excuse' scribbled in red ink.
Making her way into the cafeteria she skims over each table, looking for one particular group. She finds them over by the windows on the right, their usual spot.
Clutching the straps of her bag, she walks closer and hears a debate being discussed, quite loudly. A grin graces her lips as she spots just who she's looking for, currently in the middle of explaining something, hands gesturing wilding, to the tall, lanky freshmen with the shaggy dark hair.
"I mean, think about it. Warlocks are basically just magic sugar babies, Wheeler."
She quickly sneaks up behind him and wraps her arms around his shoulders, bending her head down to drop a peck on his cheek.
Startled by the surprise attack, Eddie halts his rant to reach up and hug her arms closer.
"My sunshine! Hi beautiful." He beams up at her from over his shoulder. His smile lines on full display.
"Hi! Sorry, I hope I wasn't interrupting anything."
The table of boys all go hush, giving her little smiles and waves in greetings.
Wheeler, or was it Mike..? the dark headed boy Eddie was speaking to, makes a face and looks the other way.
"Hey Chrissy!" Dustin says cheerfully as he starts to scooch over a seat, making room for her.
"Hey Dustin! You don't have to move for me! I was actually trying to steal this guy for a bit, if you guys don't mind…" She says, her hand coming down to rest on Eddie's head.
"Take him please!"
"Good riddance…"
"Yeah, sure.."
Chrissy laughs as Eddie stands up, hands smacking hard against the table and flips off the boys, muttering a 'fuck y'all too then.'
"Bye guys!" She yells, tugging on Eddie's hand, eager to escape the prying eyes from one particular table.
Jason and his friends watch their little exchange with disgust.
Catching her eyes briefly from across the room, Jason raises his brow and tilts his head, as if he is trying to telepathically question her sanity. 'Are you crazy? Him? Really?'
Challenge why she was so thrilled to flaunt around with 'the freak'.
Seeing her smirk, he lowers his gaze, a look of annoyance clear on his pretty boy face.
Perhaps a few weeks ago this would have bothered her. She would have possibly felt some pang of guilt, maybe even offer him an apologetic smile but things have taken a turn…a nasty, childish turn.
She knows she's being petty at times with him but ever since Eddie had begun openly being affectionate with her at the beginning of the week, she can't find it within herself to be bothered by his ugly jealousy.
She feels the stares, targeted directly at them as they walk hand in hand out of the cafeteria. Hears the whispers of surprise and shock.
"What is she doing with him?"
"So this is why she broke up with Jason… interesting"
"What a slut."
Rolling her eyes she tilts her chin up higher.
"Told you this would happen…" Eddie leans down slightly to whisper in her ear. His hand squeezes hers before he raises it to his lips, leaving a soft kiss on the back of her hand.
"Yes, you did but it's really not so bad. I'm a big girl, you know? I can handle the looks and gossip, Eddie." She declares, meeting his worried look with a grin.
"You like it don't you? My god, I am corrupting you!" He gushes, his free hand coming up to his chest, mocking shock. She lightly smacks his arm, grateful for his silly humor.
"Don't pretend like you aren't enjoying it too! I bet you're just eating up all this new attention, huh? Mr.'I'm so scary and metal! Look at me with this cheerleader on my arm boys!'" She teases up at him, feeling a spark at their playful banter.
Leaving out the back doors, they head towards his van in the parking lot.
"So my appointment is at 5 today and Annie said she can drive me there." She starts softly.
"Oh, that's nice of her… so no invite for me to tag along?" He questions carefully, with a hopeful tone.
"You want to go? To my appointment? Really?" She asks, voice just above a whisper, a little taken aback.
Finally reaching the van, he opens the passenger door for her and moves to let her climb in while he fishes for his smokes out of his jacket.
Turning slightly away from her he lights up and takes a drag.
"Yeah, of course I wanna be there, angel. It's the first one. You really expect me to just go home and wait around to hear how everything went later tonight? Nah. No chance!" He declares, and she's hit by a rush of warmth at his eagerness.
She's astonished at how supportive he's been.
After their discussion over the weekend at his place, he's been so attentive to her and has taken the part of being her own personal cheerleader. It fills her heart up to the brim. She finds herself wondering how in the world anyone could dismiss him and not adore all his little quirks.
Eddie Munson surprises her, still. He's always completely different from what she had expected weeks ago when she had slipped that note in his locker. He's soft instead of hard. Slow instead of fast. At times, he's shy instead of brash.
Then there's Jason Carver. Jason, on paper, was those things but after 3 years of dating him Chrissy knew Jason was the exact opposite. He was egotistical. A narcissist. Always thought of his image first. Desperate to be adored and idolized by those he saw beneath him. If the roles were reversed and it was Jason's child she potentially carried, he would surely blame her. He would worry about himself. He probably wouldn't even ask about her appointment.
It is then that she realizes Eddie is what she had always wanted in a boyfriend, ever since she was a young girl and would watch those cheesy old romance movies. She had once thought her silly little desires were just that, silly. She had grown up, became a teenager, started dating Jason and had learned to hide those little fantasies of hers. Eddie had brought them out from their hiding and held them delicately.
Unable to hold herself back, she leans forward from the passenger seat and grabs him by the front of his vest, her lips crashing with his.
A muffled grunt escapes him, the noise trapped within her kiss. She tastes the smoke from his cigarette and pulls him down closer to her to deepen the kiss.
Pulling away breathlessly with a gasp, he pushes his forehead against hers. His eyes are half closed when he chuckles softly. "Someone's feeling bold today. Keep catching me off guard sunshine."
With a small laugh she runs her hand up the smooth front of his shirt and up to trace his face.
"Sorry about that. I just…I'm just really really glad you're you . That sounds lame, I know, but I'm just so happy you're with me through all this…mess." She finishes gently, looking up into his brown eyes.
"Hey, it's our mess. Of course I got you."
He bends his head down to steal another kiss just as the bell chimes from the building.
Groaning, he flicks his forgotten smoke to the pavement. "Are these lunches getting shorter and shorter? Seriously, it feels like we just got out here!" He curses, throwing his head back dramatically.
He offers her his hand and helps her slide off the seat and closes the door behind her, locking the van up.
"Oh hey, did you eat anything? I think I've still got some snacks somewhere on me…" He says, hand reaching into his jacket pocket, digging around for said snacks.
"I'm good, thanks though." She responds back quickly, looking down at her shoes.
"You sure? I really don't mind-"
"Yeah, it's just the nerves, I think. Just a little… on edge today."
Being completely honest with herself, she really truly has been trying to eat better. To eat more. To let it digest. However, she didn't think she could stomach anything at the moment. Just the thought of trying to eat something, anything, made her stomach turn.
It's tricky. It's like she takes one step forward and then her anxiety consumes her and suddenly she's taking three steps back.
Like Ms. Kelley said, baby steps. It's just baby steps. She reminds herself.
Eddie hasn't pushed her further on the matter or questioned her strange eating habits, or lack thereof, and for that she's grateful. She knows eventually he will catch on, being as observant as he is. More anxiety floods her as she imagines his face, filled with disgust and shock once he discovers the truth.
She's so scared.
Sneaking a glance up at his face from the side as they walk back towards the school, she quietly admires his handsome, devil-may- care grin.
Please don't hate me.
—-
As promised, Eddie drives her to her appointment, following behind Anna's car.
Mötley Crüe plays through the speakers at a reasonable volume, low enough to leave her with her thoughts.
Chrissy nervously wrings her hands in her lap, face turned toward the window.
"I'm really sorry, Eddie." Her voice cracks as tears begin to fill her eyes.
Eddie's eyes leave the road, " Chris… It's ok-"
"This is all my fault. If I hadn't… if I hadn't just jumped on you that night like that.." Her voice wobbles, a choked sob escapes her.
"What? Whoa there- hold on. This isn't your fault, Chris. I'm pretty sure it takes two people to make a baby. Besides, we don't know for sure yet. Maybe it's just… a fluke?" He reassures her.
Wiping at her eyes she turns towards him, her hand moving the play with her necklace.
"A fluke?" She asks.
"Yeah, you know… maybe it's just like stress or something. I mean, I don't really know that much about women's uh.. health, but maybe it's just on a new schedule, ya know?" He tries explaining.
She laughs through her tears, hand moving to cover her mouth.
"God, I hope so." She gushes, still wiping at her eyes.
"It's gonna be ok, I promise." He reaches across the car and holds her hand, his thumb rubbing tiny circles over her knuckles.
—
"I think we're here." Eddie announces, parking the van next to Anna's car.
They share nervous smiles and Eddie leans across the middle console to place a quick kiss on her forehead. Chrissy feels her cheeks heat from the sweet and spontaneous display of affection.
Annie rolls her window down, "Do you want me to go in with you guys or..?" She asks.
"I think we got it from here. Thank you Annie, I seriously owe you one!" Chrissy says.
"We both owe you one dude!" Eddie chimes in.
"Yeah you do, but hey, it got me out of practice! Call me later Chris!"
"I will! Love you!"
"Good luck guys! Love you too!"
They walk through the entrance together, hand in hand, towards the front desk. Chrissy checks in with the receptionist and takes the clipboard of her New Patient forms to fill out.
The waiting room is mostly empty, besides a woman and her little girl, who sits coloring on the floor by her mother's shoes.
Born To Run by Bruce Springsteen is playing through the small radio by the front desk.
They take a seat over by the window in the back. Chrissy signs the forms silently while Eddie's hand beats on the arm of his chair along to the song. His knee bounces, shaking his whole chair.
As she stands to bring the receptionist her signed forms, she notices the educational posters that line the cream colored walls.
'The benefits of choosing Abstinence. The most effective birth control.'
Gag me.
'The risks of unsafe sex and the leading causes to STDs.'
Portraits of families with babies smile at her.
She hands the clipboard back to the receptionist, who gives her a quick smile.
Making her way back over to Eddie she sees him staring at a poster on the wall across from their seats. It's a chart of the developing stages of a fetus.
Eddie turns his focus to the mother sitting a few seats down from them. Her large belly in clear view. His eyes widen comically. Chrissy stiffens and nudges his shoe. "Stop staring!" She whispers forcefully into his ear.
He clears his throat and mutters a 'sorry'.
"Are you ok?" He whispers to her.
"Just nervous. You?"
"Yeah, ditto."
He checks his watch and bounces his knee. "We were on time…"
She reaches for his hand and brings it to her lap. "I'm sure we'll be up soon. They have to process all my information and I'm a new patient so-"
"Chrissy Cunningham?" A voice calls out from the desk.
They both snap their heads up and see a nurse standing by a door. Chrissy squeezes his hand before they stand and walk over to the door. "Right this way you two." The nurse greets them warmly and takes them down the hall.
"Ok, so first I'm going to need to get some measurements done for our file. Can you please step up on the scale for me?" The nurse instructs.
Chrissy goes to stand on the scale and avoids looking down at the number, eyes focused on the wall in front of her. A few seconds pass before she hears the nurse say it softly to herself, "98", writing it down on her notes.
"Now how tall are you dear?"
"Um, I'm 5'2."
"Ok. Got it. Next I will need a urine sample. Here is the cup and the bathroom is right around that corner."
"Oh, I don't really need to go at the moment…" Her face reddens with embarrassment at the silly confession.
"Just a little should be fine. We don't need a full cup." The woman says with a laugh.
Nodding, she makes her way over to the bathroom.
After somehow managing to get a few drops into the cup, she leaves the bathroom and slowly walks back to the older woman. She holds it out carefully for the nurse to take.
"Thank you. We will be in this room right here and Dr. Lolli will be with you momentarily." She says with a tight smile, her eyes lingering on Eddie's grungy appearance a little too long for comfort.
They both enter the small room and Chrissy heads straight over to the examination table. She sits near the edge, crossing her legs by her ankles.
Eddie whistles lowley to himself, looking around the room, his hands stuffed in his pockets.
He stops in front of a diagram of a plastic baby in, what looks to be, the uterus. Its head is facing downwards, towards the bottom of the makeshift uterus. His hand reaches out to touch it when suddenly the plastic baby falls out and smacks the ground.
"Oh shit! Shit! I got it!"
He scrambles to pick it up and tries forcing it back inside the slot. His tongue peeking out to the side of his mouth, fully concentrated on his work.
Shocked, Chrissy watches with wide eyes filled with amusement, covering her mouth to contain her giggles.
"Shh! No, it doesn't go that way… put the head the other way." She instructs him in a hushed voice.
The fake baby falls back out of the slot. Eddie grunts a chain of curses, grabbing the baby once again off the floor.
"Eddie!"
"I got it! Gotcha little guy! Now just…go in here… and stay!" With a final push the baby clicks back into place.
"Knock knock!" The door opens, causing both the teens to freeze.
A middle aged woman with curly reddish brown hair walks in holding a clipboard in her hands. "Hello, I'm , pleasure to meet you two." She greets them with a polite smile.
"Hi!"
"Hi…"
"You must be Chrissy."
"Yes, that's me." She says nervously. She clears her throat, feeling it dry up.
"It's good to meet you." sticks out her hand and shakes her hand with a quick and small squeeze.
Turning towards Eddie, Dr. Lolli reaches her hand out to shake his as well.
"You must be her husband-"
"Uh, hi and no-I'm just.. Just Eddie? Nice to meet ya!" He offers nervously, stuttering.
"Well, it's nice to meet you too 'just' Eddie." She says with a teasing smile.
The older woman motions for them both to sit before sitting herself down on a tall stool.
"Alright, Ms. Cunningham, I see that you are here to confirm if you are pregnant or not?"
"Yes ma'am." She responds softly, her voice waivers.
Nodding, the doctor looks down at the file in her hands. Her eyes skim down the page for a moment. "Hm, well, it looks like you are indeed pregnant."
A gasp fills the quiet room.
Chrissy releases her breath, unaware how long she was holding it in. She feels a chill cover her whole body.
She feels numb.
Looking up she meets Eddie's eyes. His face is unreadable at first until a soft look takes over his handsome features.
clears her throat before continuing. "I see on your chart that you're 17 years old…I take it this was not a planned pregnancy?" She questions, looking at them both with kind, sympathetic eyes.
Unable to speak, Chrissy shakes her head, looking down at her hands in her lap. Tears begin to fill her eyes.
"Alrighty dear, I'm going to need you to go behind this curtain here and change into this for me." She passes her a thin medical gown.
Chrissy climbs off the table onto her shaky legs and goes to change quickly.
"Excellent. Please sit on the very edge here and place your feet on the stirrups, I will just need to do a pelvic exam." She explains in a gentle yet professional voice.
Chrissy nods silently and scooches to the edge of the table. A blush heats her cheeks as she suddenly feels very exposed in front of Eddie, who stays quiet and averts his eyes around the room.
She closes her eyes tightly as she feels 's gloved hand reach below and up into her lower regions.
"Alright, now I will need to do a blood test just to check your hCG levels."
After a series of exams are completed the doctor pauses, looking over her notes.
"When was your last period dear?"
"Um… I think maybe it was almost over a month ago. Maybe near the beginning of March..?"
"Ok. It looks like you are right around 4 weeks then. Very early on. Typically most women attend their first prenatal exam around 6 to 8 weeks but that's perfectly fine. Never hurts to act fast. Tell me, have you been experiencing any tenderness in your breast or fatigue?"
Chrissy nods. "Yes. I've been more tired than normal and there has been some..soreness.. there." She gestures to her chest.
"Now, for office policy reasons I do have to discuss a few serious things with you.. Are you aware that your BMI is extremely below average for your height and weight?" She asks carefully.
"I uh…Yes. Yes ma'am." Her voice rises in pitch. Guilt and shame settles in her chest. Eddie's ring cladded hand reaches for her trembling one.
"If you are considering going through with your pregnancy I highly recommend following this list of what prenatal vitamins you should be taking and what foods to avoid. No raw fish or deli meats. You'll need to eat a fairly good amount of healthy choices like vegetables and some fruits." She lists off, passing Chrissy and Eddie the printed chart.
"Alright dear, now I'm going to perform an ultrasound to determine the stage of gestation, and then we can discuss how you'd like to proceed." Chrissy turned to the doctor, her eyes beginning to fill with unshed tears.
"Ok." She turned to look at Eddie and tightened her hold on his large hand. He gives her a reassuring smile, but she can tell that he is still trying to process everything the same as she was.
After turns off the lights she turns on the larg, bulky ultrasound machine that sits near the corner.
"Now this may feel cold.." She warned before squeezing a bit of the gel onto Chrissy's stomach. Chrissy felt her heart begin to beat furiously inside her chest. How was this happening right now?
placed the wand of the machine on top of the gel on Chrissy's belly, and began moving it around in small circles.
The young teens watched the screen of the ultrasound machine quietly. The screen was mostly black, and Chrissy wondered what exactly she was looking at.
Noticing her confusion, Dr. Lolli began to speak.
"This right here," she said, her fingers tracing the grayish white band that was outlining the black expanse of the screen, "is your uterus." She continued moving the wand around Chrissy's abdomen for a few moments.
Suddenly, a tiny white speck appeared on the screen.
Pointing to the screen with a gloved hand the doctor turns to Chrissy. "This here, is your baby. Very tiny right now. It's about the size of a poppy seed at this stage." She notes with a light tone.
"Oh-Oh my god." Chrissy gasps. Her eyes widen as she gazes up at the monitor. Her breath catches in her throat and she feels a fuzzy sensation in her chest. She feels Eddie's fingers trembling in hers.
"Wow. That's it?" He asks the doctor, his voice sounding far away in Chrissy's ears.
She peeks a look up at his face and sees his eyes intensely trained on the screen. He looks completely mystified and his eyes look slightly glassy. She desperately wonders what he's thinking.
"Yes, that's it. Everything looks good so far. Now let's see if we can detect a heartbeat. It might be too early still but let's just try." She says, turning on the doppler machine.
A few silent seconds pass before a swooshing sound fills the space. The sound is rapid, and has goosebumps rising along Chrissy's skin.
"Ah, there it is! Sounds good and strong." The doctor notes, looking at the screen.
"Holy shit." Eddie whispers to himself.
Dr. Lolli chuckles and smiles at his reaction.
"Fascinating, isn't it?" She asks, smiling at them both now.
Chrissy is left speechless. She feels herself nodding but can't stop looking at the screen. It's like the tiny white dot and the drumming heartbeat have her in a trance.
This is really happening.
That's my… my baby. She thinks, feeling dizzy.
"That's wild." Eddie says, a tender look on his face and he catches her looking at him. Something in her chest flutters at seeing his big eyes brimming with tears.
She's not aware she's crying until Eddie reaches to her face and brushes away a few stray tears.
"Let me grab some tissues for you two." Dr. Lolli says as she turns off the machine and moves around to find a box of tissues. She passes them each a few.
Chrissy wipes away the gel from her belly and pulls the bottom of the medical gown back down to cover it.
The older woman stands to turn the lights back on and goes back to her seat in front of them with her notes.
"So Chrissy, how are you feeling dear? I know that was probably a lot for a first exam.." Dr. Lolli asks her gently.
A sniffle escapes and she covers her face feeling overwhelmed and a little embarrassed by her tears that don't seem to dry up any time soon.
"I'm sorry, I'm just… I don't know. That was a lot. I wasn't expecting that." She exclaims, still using the tissue to wipe under her eyes.
Eddie places a hand on her back, trying to sooth her with small rubs.
Dr. Lolli nods her head, a clear look of understanding on her face. "You have a few options. As I mentioned before, you're around 4 to 5 weeks along. You have about 12 weeks to decide whether or not you want to terminate the pregnancy."
Chrissy nods, and she feels Eddie's hand go still on her back.
"Now, if you do decide to continue but feel you aren't able to raise the baby, there is always adoption. We work with a wonderful organization that can help you to facilitate that if that's what you choose to do."
Chrissy turns to look at Eddie and sees his eyes fill with panic. His lips go tight in a grimace.
She makes a mental note to ask him later what he thinks about adoption but from the looks of it he doesn't seem very fond of that option.
pulls out some pamphlets from her desk and hands them over to them both. "Like I said, I completely understand that this is a lot of information to take in all at once. You do not have to make any decisions today but please look these over."
They both nod and Eddie helps Chrissy off the table and over to the curtain in the corner to change back into her clothes.
"So, how does 3 weeks out sound? I can squeeze you in for another check up around then or you can contact my staff if you want to push it out farther and wait till we're closer to that 12 week mark."
"Let's wait just a bit. I think I need more time." She answers softly.
"Of course dear! No worries at all. I'll make a note to my receptionist."
—-
Three pamphlets and two black and white sonogram prints lay in Chrissy's lap.
Three possible options.
Abortion, Adoption or a baby.
"What if we just gave it up to a nice-" She starts but is cut short.
"No. Absolutely not." Eddie says, rather aggressively.
He shakes his head and releases a deep breath. "Sorry, I just… those organizations she mentioned? They're shit. The system is actually pretty fucked."
She's stunned by his passion, the distaste written so clearly on his face.
"Were you in it before… before your uncle?"
He nods silently, eyes fixed on the road, knuckles turning white from his grip on the wheel.
"I'm so sorry, I had no idea Eddie."
"It's all good now. I just can't imagine having a part of myself out there and them wondering why they weren't enough, ya know?" He says with a shrug, acting nonchalant but his tone says otherwise.
"Yeah, I get it. I don't know if I would be strong enough to carry it and then to just… hand it off to someone else." She admits softly.
Casting a glance her way from the road, "Ok, so no to if… actually, that's crazy. Never mind."
She bites her lip, brow furrowed, confused. "What's crazy?" She asks him.
He hesitates before answering. "Chrissy, I meant what I said. I don't want you to worry about me."
"Eddie, please ." She pleads. She knows why he's being stubborn, hell bent on it but she doesn't want to be the only one to make a huge, life changing decision like this on her own.
" You were the one who said it takes two people." She points out.
She watches as he runs a hand through his wild hair, messing up the fringe, his eyes still focusing on the road.
He's silent as he drives them to a nearby park. With a start, Chrissy realizes the deserted park is the very one Anna had taken her to after finding out she was pregnant.
How funny.
The sunset paints the charming little park in golden and pink hues. As breathtaking as the scenery around them is, the tension in the van is a stark contrast.
Eddie draws his lower lip between his teeth. He leans forward and crosses his arms around the steering wheel, almost slumped over it.
"I don't wanna be selfish, Chris. I can't be." He breathed, voice strained.
"Selfish? What are you talking about?"
"I know this is going to sound crazy and maybe I am crazy for thinking this but… I've always wanted to be a dad." He admits, anxiously toying with one of his large rings. "My childhood wasn't the best, my dad was a piece of shit who got locked up and my mom passed when I was really young which left me in the foster system for a while until my uncle could legally adopt me. I've always had this soft spot, I guess you could call it, for taking in the strays. Taking care of them." His voice softens.
"I just- I just want you to know that if you don't want to keep the baby then that's ok- I totally get it! I could take him or her myself, no questions asked, no judgment. I swear. But…If you decide you don't want to have the baby at all- that's ok too! It's your body, your decision and I really don't want you to feel like you ever have to do something you don't want to d-" He stutters.
"Eddie, wait! You-you would really do that?" Chrissy asks tentatively, worried she misheard him.
He turns towards her and she sees his eyes have that same glassy look from earlier in the doctor's office. "Yeah, of course."
She reaches for his face, cups his cheek and kisses him softly. She feels him smile around her kiss.
Pulling back to meet his eyes, she asks, "Is it crazy to feel like that appointment completely changed my mind? Like, I woke up this morning feeling like I already knew which choice I was going to go with and now… I think I want to keep it too." She admits, the corners of her lips curve upwards.
"Honestly, me too. Now that I think about it, I kind of feel like that doctor knew what she was doing. I bet she was really trying to sell us on keeping it, huh?" He jokes and drops a sweet kiss on her nose.
"Really?" She asks with a chuckle.
"Oh yeah! She just had to pull out that monitor and let us hear the heartbeat. I'm not fooled!" He exclaims, attacking her neck with kisses.
Chrissy laughs at his teasing, thankful for his brighter mood. She's sure her sulking and constant crying is becoming annoying to be around.
Shaking the nasty thought from her head she sighs and tilts her head to the side, giving him more access to her throat. Her fingers comb up into his hair and hold.
She doesn't want to worry anymore. She just wants to hit pause and live in these little fleeting moments they have.
"I love it when you kiss my neck." She breaths.
"Is that so?" He teases, lips close to her ear. She shutters, her thighs clench.
"Mhmm."
Suddenly, his lips leave her neck and she groans from their loss.
She feels him reach for her lap and grabs the ultrasound picture. He brings it up close to his face, eyes studying the black and white image. "A poppyseed." He says softly to himself. His eyes hold a look of complete wonder. She watches him place the picture up in his sun visor, the little mirror holding it safe.
"It's crazy." She says, as she moves the pamphlets off her lap and onto the dashboard.
"We're crazy." He offers back with a chuckle.
He looks behind them into the back of the van and then back at her, an idea brewing in his large eyes. A smirk plays on his mouth. "Wanna move this back there?" He tilts his head, mentioning to the back.
"Here? But… but we're at a park." Her cheeks heat up at the thought of someone catching them.
"We've done it in worse places angel." He reminds her with a wink, his voice husky. He seems to enjoy this. Teasing her endlessly. Making her squirm in her seat, making her panties wet.
She rolls her eyes, laughing and follows him to the back of the van.
—-
Moments later and a few layers of clothing missing, Chrissy finds herself panting.
A curly mop of brown tresses between her fingers and brush her bare thighs. She's wearing nothing but the pastel pink skirt she wore to school today. It seems the scary, 'bad boy' has a thing for her light colored skirts.
Callused fingers hold her thighs apart and she savors the chill of his rings against her skin.
"Fuck, you taste like strawberries baby." He gasps, head popping up to trail kisses along the inside of her legs.
"Strawberries?" She asks breathlessly with a laugh.
He moans his response against her. His free hand strokes himself and she wishes nothing more than to assist but as he has mentioned in the past, he only wants her to enjoy her pleasure.
What a gentleman.
Before, she was never given near this amount of attention or care from Jason. Eddie has made it his new personal quest to learn every little detail about her body. He strives to study the art of her pleasure. She wishes to do the same. She wants to learn his too. Pass with flying colors.
She's already come twice now and she's beginning to feel impatient. Needy.
"Eddie." She whines, hips lifting off the plaid blanket laid out under her. His jacket acts as a pillow for her head. With a hard tug she pulls on his hair, causing him to pause. His large dark eyes look up at her with such an intensity. Waiting.
"Come up here… Please… Daddy." She says slowly, blushing furiously, testing the new word.
His eyes widen, face turing a bright red hue and mutters a ' fuck me' under his breath. Long lanky limbs scramble up her body before his mouth attacks hers.
Eddie kisses her hard and traps her moan in his mouth. She reaches down and slides her fingers over his hard cock. Her thumb smooths the leaking precum around his tip and she smiles as she feels his whole body shutter above her.
He's so responsive to her. She loves it. So much.
His lips move down her throat towards her chest and she helps guide his head with her dainty hand. He licks and nips at each nipple, making sure to give the same amount of attention to each breast. Her breath hitches, "Easy! They're sore." He apologizes softly and moves back up.
His fingers glide over her soaked folds, teasing the center before slipping a finger inside.
She releases a breathy moan. "More."
He grunts against her neck. He adds two more fingers and pumps into her, the wet sound echoing off the metal siding of the van. She faintly hears the lyrics of some song by Dio playing but she's long forgotten about the track he picked for them this time. Another mix maybe…?
"You ready for me baby?" He asks, breath hot against her skin.
Nodding, she watches as he moves to grab a condom off the floor, tearing the wrapper with his teeth. "Eddie, what are you doing? We don't really need that anymore.." She trails off.
He pauses and looks up from his task, seeing a hint of amusement on her face. "Yeah, I guess you're right. Really no point now." He laughs to himself, feeling foolish for a second.
He tosses the condom over his shoulder and hovers over her. Chrissy reaches up and pulls his head down to her and kisses him hard while wrapping her thighs around his hips.
A sigh leaves her lips as she feels him push into her. She whispers his name, clutching his back. He starts at a slow pace, his forehead resting against hers, dark eyes squeezing shut.
"Fuck baby. Did you miss this?"
She moans and nods, clenching around him as his thrusts speed up. He kisses and sucks marks into the side of her neck. She squirms, her hips lifting up to meet with his in time.
"Bite me." She breaths.
He chuckles against her. "Yes my queen."
A sharp nip follows immediately and she lets out a high pitched noise.
"You love this. You love me leaving marks all over you for everyone to see, huh?" He says, his voice rough and she's so lost in him that she can't stop chanting 'yes'.
Maybe everyone at school is right. Maybe she is crazy. Maybe she is a slut, for him. Is it so wrong though? Is it really such a crime to love this? She loves the way he makes her feel and she's quite certain she is addicted to him but she no longer cares.
Sweat drips down from his forehead and lands on her shoulder. It's musky and hot in the van but she loves this too.
"Please… daddy.." She whines, thighs shaking around him. His dark eyes look into hers, his panting breath fans across her face, his hips snapping into hers.
She sobs from underneath him, speared on his cock, and never felt more at home somewhere in her whole life.
He's close, she knows this because he starts chanting and moaning things in her ear, things that make her feel tingly and warm. "You're so fucking beautiful. Can't believe you're real- this is real. Taking me so good baby. Such a good girl."
The praise makes her come again, drunk-like and in a daze. Her pussy squeezes around his cock and she closed her eyes tightly, "Oh my god- Eddie!"
His pace picks up and he's thrusting deeper and deeper into her until he's spilling into her. "Gonna fill you up. Fuck! You're gonna look so sexy- carrying our baby- I'll give you as many babies as you want- take care of it-take care of you." He rambles, completely lost.
They're both panting harshly and Eddie's arms shake around her from trying to keep his weight off of her. His hair acts as a curtain, falling around her face. She brings her hand up and runs her fingers through it, starting from the slightly damp roots to the ends that hang close to her.
Looking up she catches him staring down at her, chocolate eyes studying her face.
"What's that look for?" She asks, feeling self conscious but curious.
"Nothing, I just like looking at you. You're interesting to look at but like, in a good way." He says matter-of-factly, peppering her face with soft kisses. Her chest flutters and she giggles, causing her to clench around his cock, still pulsing inside her. They both moan at the sensation.
"Interesting? I don't think anyone has ever said that to me. That's a new one." She jokes, snuggling her head into the crook of his neck, her hand running up and down his damp back.
"Hey, I said it was in a good way." He reassures her, breathlessly, still recovering. "I'm also just hoping I didn't freak you out…with what I said there at the end.." He admits sheepishly, slipping out of her and rolling onto his side.
He's adorable when he's like this. Actually, she finds most of everything he tells her during their throws adorable and utterly fascinating.
"Yeah, that was pretty…interesting." She throws the word back at him, relishing in his reaction, the way his whole face turns a bright scarlet shade and how it spreads down his neck to his chest.
"Don't kink shame me!" He pleads, hiding his face with his hands, laughing. The sound echoes through the darkness of the van and she loves it, loves this, loves him.
She loves him.
Fuck.
