I have worked at the community radio station as long as I could remember.
I had sat at my desk for many years, well I can guessed it had only been years...
Anyway, that is not what our story's about. our story starts a couple years back, with a charming scientist. at his lab. alone. if you've been a long time listener, you probably know who I'm talking about. but if you are not... what are you doing here?
The perfect scientist sat in his lab doing normal science things. Beakers boiling over bunsen burners, liquids changing colors, all the usual things for a science lab.
At that very moment the scientist was transferring liquid from one long tube from one to another, something about getting rid of the air bubbles.
While he was doing that tedious task, he had left the radio on in the background, it had been humming and hissing incoherently for the past hour. but he did not mind. he had just needed something in the background just to keep him from falling asleep.
But then the radio stopped its strange noises, and the scientist stopped, startled by the absence of noise.
but before he could try to change the channel, A unfamiliar silky voice filled the room. Almost suffocating.
"The voice was describing him. what he was thinking and doing in between news and traffic reports. the scientist thought" The voice claimed.
"The voice didn't seem to address their descriptions with their own opinion. they just kept going, like he was in a trance".
The scientist was taken aback by the man on the radio.
"How could have he know what he was doing?" the radio man said
"There was no cameras in his in his room. Well, not of his knowledge".
The man in the lab coat slowly pulled a chair over sitting down cautiously, like the radio could blow up at any moment.
The man sat there and listen to the radio for the remainder of his shift, until the man signed of
"thank you for listening. and as always, goodnight night vale, good night."
the radio had gone back to static.
"night vale..." the man thought. "sound familiar".
