Hi, I just really love this movie, and I don't know why I taught it could be a Darvey story.
I have most of it already written, so let me know what you guys think :)
Again it was 5 o'clock and Harvey is at the school where Avery studies. From the outside, all seems really calm, like always, but as soon as he gets inside, the chaos starts. Parents and kids talking aloud while a group of mothers talks in the corner.
He says hello to some of them between the school door and Avery's classroom, where the little girl seems a little too impatient waiting for whoever would pick her up that day. As soon as she sees Harvey she runs to her daddy, and who sees that scene could swear the girl hasn't seen her dad for months, when in reality they see each other every day.
"Dad, finally", the girl says as soon as she gets to Harvey before even saying hi to him and he smiles,
"Finally what? Your class finished exactly five minutes ago!" Harvey laughs and says hi to Avery's teacher before taking the girl aways from the class.
I thought mom would come pick me up today!" Avery says walking with her dad.
"Your mother has a late meeting today and since you would be staying with me this weekend, I thought you could sleep in my house today, too." He explains to the girl.
"We had a sex ed class today!" the girl blows out
"You had what?" he stops walking right outside his car where his driver was already waiting for them.
"A sex ed class! We learnt where the babies come from! Hi Ray," the girl says to the driver and enters the car like it was any other day. "It's not like I still believe the stork drops every baby to their parents, daddy!" And then she was inside the car.
`Who the hell had this brilliant idea to teach a primary school where the babies come from?" He asks the driver, who just smiles at him. "She is just seven!"
"It can't be this bad. They are all kids after all!" Ray answers his boss, even if he already knows Harvey won't agree with him.
As soon as they were all inside the car, Ray drove off the school and Avery turned her attention to her iPad and all the games the girl downloaded there. The rest of the way to Harvey's condo they went in silence and after dinner Harvey let the girl watch a cartoon while he finished reading some case that he bought home with him that day. Around nine, Avery was almost sleeping when he decided it was time to put the girl to bed.
"Lets go to bed Avery, it's already time for you to sleep" and just like every other day, even if the girl was almost sleeping on the couch, she is wide awake now.
"Just one more dad, please," the girl begs and if it was Friday, he would have caved and let her watch TV until she was already sleeping and he had to carry her to her bad, but been Thursday he knows her mother would be really mad if she finds out he let the girl watch tv past her bedtime.
"You know if your mom finds out she will be mad at me!" He explains and closes the folder before turning off the tv.
"She won't find out, dad, please!"
"You know she will. One look at you tomorrow and she will know!" She gets up to brush her teeth before going to bed. Just like Harvey, she knows you can't really fool her mother.
"Dad, would you tell me a story?" she starts again when she is already in her bed.
"Weren't you the big girl who doesn't want a story anymore?"
"Not a fairytale, dad!" she says, and she sounds so like her mother that Harvey has to laugh before anything else. "You never told me how you met mom!'
"That you can ask your mother!" he says before dropping a kiss to her forehead. "Time to sleep, Avery!"
He is almost out of her bedroom, after turning off the lights, when he hears the girl talk again.
"Since you're not married to my mom, will you get married someday?" her voice was a little low this time, and he turned to her again.
"Where is this coming from, Avery?"
"Stella's parents got divorced and now her dad is getting married again!" the girl explains.
"You know me and your mother never got married, right?" He was back at her bed, sitting down near her. It surprised him. Even more, since she knows he and her mother are friends, they dated, they had a daughter, it didn't work out and they explained as much as she could understand at such a young age. "It can happen someday. Your mother can also find a boyfriend and decide to marry him."
"You dated other women before mom?" He is quiet for a moment. He dated a ton of women before and after her mother and even if it usually doesn't work out, he is considering how much he can explain to his daughter.
"Yes, I did!" He says after a moment.
"Tell me about them! And about mom!" And she is back trying to be awake after her bedtime.
"Let's make a deal!" He smirks at the girl, who rolls her eyes. "I'll tell you about three of my past girlfriends."
"Will you tell me about how you met mom?" She interrupted him.
"Okay, one of them might be your mother! Starting tomorrow!"
"Starting today! Please, daddy!" She was way too excited now. "Tell me how you met mom!"
"You'll have to find out if one of them is your mother and each one!" He explains to her. "But we will start tomorrow. Now good night Avery!"
"Good night dad!" the girl answered before closing her eyes.
Harvey left his daughter to sleep and less than five minutes later, when he was back in the living room with his case file in hand, he starts to wonder if telling Avery about three of his past girlfriends will be really a good idea.
Again let me know what you guys think, reviews will be really appreciated.
