mention of psychological attack
In this story Bakugo has green eyes and Izuku has crimson eyes

Kendo stared at the massive building that stood before her, gleaming in the sun. The school lay on the other side of a metal gate that served as the entrance to the Yueii grounds.

It was early in the morning, and birds chirped a tune, inviting brave ones to undergo the arduous path of becoming a hero.

The girl stood mesmerized and transfixed on the giant academy that could help her dream become a reality.

Every step she took, her heart throbbed and rammed into her ribcage at high speed. Deep down, the girl knew she had nothing to worry about, as with the help of her old power, All might training, and the pulsating powerhouse of a quirk that now courses through her vein, there was nothing the exam could throw at her.

Nonetheless, even with all the encouragement her mind could supply, the knot in her stomach tightened bit by bit. Sweet poor down her forehead and back. Her worried only subsided when her eyes landed on the exam papers. It grounded her, brought clarity to her haywire mind, as her white nights spent studying finally paid off.

Just over one and a half hours later, Kendo had finished most of the questions and moved on to the final one. The test focused primarily on math and sciences but didn't shy away from subjects like Japanese and history. The questions range from essential primary school to university level. While not easy, there wasn't anything groundbreaking.

Until the final question

It was an essay question, and it was open-ended. Likely to encourage more thought from applicants since there could not be a wrong answer. There was just a tiny problem.

The question was directed to her.

Kendo, what would be your response and tactic of facing off against something so impossible and mighty at the same time that it can strip away your physiological barriers, leaving you stranded between pure unadulterated terror and your primate instincts.

Please elaborate on your answer. And if you believe that something like this couldn't exist, provide reasons why.

Her eyes widened ever so slightly, and she had to double-take to ensure she read it right. Looking around, not one student seemed disturbed, so they either somehow knew how to respond or didn't have the question in the first place.

All might have explained that Nezu was one of the only people who knew the true nature of One-For-All. Still, she didn't imagine the chimera

would add a question to her test, especially when it was something so weird. The question gave no point, so despite what her gut was telling her, she ignored it and chose to go back and check previous answers.

Plus, if she finishes the question, her answer would be simple and state that something so powerful couldn't exist.

Right?

The rest of the second hour passed relatively quickly. Soon enough, Kendo was moving through Yueii's massive auditorium. She was directed to the front, right at the end of the row, near a boy with blonde hair, periwinkle blue irises, and eyes that are shaped so that they're slanting downwards towards the far sides of his face. The boy was sleeping, so she didn't disturb him, instead settled in her seat and waited for the presentation to begin.

The lights dimmed suddenly, the background noises and conversations quickly following. Present Mic stepped out onto the stage, the lights in the room focusing only on him.

"FOR ALL OF YOU EXAMINEE LISTENERS TUNING in, WELCOME TO MY SHOW!" He yelled out the greeting, shocking most applicants with his volume and making the blonde squirm in his sleep." EVERYBODY SAY HEEEY!"

The tall, slim man only received silence back, but that didn't seem to bother him in the slightest.

"What a refined response; if no one is up for a conversation, I'll just give you the rundown of the practical exam."

Instead of listening to the speech she had already heard a hundred times in the past, a smuggle video appeared on the internet two years ago, and ever since, she had watched it hundreds of times. She chose to focus on the slip of paper that stood before her. The letter "F" is printed on the front and a set of rules on the back.

"My mate over there needs to learn how to tone it down." A nonchalant voice spoke from her right, pulling her out of her thoughts. She let out a small chuckle before extending her hand toward the now-awake boy.

"Yeah, he is quite intense; what can I say? By the way, nice to meet you, my name is ItsukaKendo." A polite smile stretched across her face.

He accepted her handshake with a firm move, and for a second, she could have sworn something buzzed across her skin, but just as it came, it was gone.

"Name's Neito Soot; nice to meet you, mat-'

"... -break a leg, everyone, and PLUS ULTRA!" The hero's voice echoes throughout the room, cutting Neito's introduction short as everyone, including the two, quickly makes their way toward the buses waiting to take them to their mock cities.

A short ride to the exam ground later, Kendou stood before a gigantic gate, pressed between hundred kids. The long-awaited entrance exam she had trained for almost her entire life was finally about to begin.

The Battle Against The Machines was about to commence.

"Alllright, my listeners!" the voice of Present Mic screams from somewhere up high, hidden in one of the towers that surrounded the mock city.

"Here's your countdown!"

Her muscles brace against one another as One For all bursts forward.

"TEN!"

Hand the size of baseball gloves slump firmly around her body, ready to spring into action at any moment.

"Nine!"

Amber lighting cracked to life as her body was bathed in bottomless energy.

"GO!"

Once the announcer spoke from the intercom, signaling the beginning, most kids looked up at Present Mic with confusion, some laughing as if he said a joke.

She dashed.

The pavement shattered under her, and she was already speeding throughout the city in less than a second. Using her new strength, she bounces ten feet into the air and slams down onto a three-pointer before Mic confirms that the test has already begun. Metal creaked and broke apart, the machine exploding from the impact, creating an awful screech as metal scraped against the pavement.

But Kendo doesn't hear it. Her attention was only on her that stood in her way of achieving her dream. By the time the person behind her destroys their first robot, she'd already racked up six more points from cutting some two-pointer heads off.

She only has ten minutes, and common sense leads Kendo to even think of stopping her rampage for a second.

Only ten seconds had passed...

An odd number of silhouettes were hidden inside a glass dome that towered over all cities. They examined the ensuing exam below them and observed the participants in City A, B, C, D, E, F, and G.

Each one was gazing at a multiple split-screen TV that showed different angles and participants doing their best in the war against machines.

"Oh my, this year seems to have a much more interesting batch of contestants than the last, don't you gentlemen think so?" Spoke the figure who remained situated at the front, a vicious grin stretching across his face as he watched his creations humiliate some of the participants but also be destroyed by others more capable.

"They're alright," answered one of the two, seemingly leading them as he answered as truthfully as possible, "when I gave my presentation, not many of 'em stood out to me in particular."

"Don't be so harsh now, Yamada; it is clear that these happy-go younglings are far more powerful than anything we had in a long time." Principal Nezu answered with joviality as he flashed a creepy smile at the blonde, who slightly flinched.

Nezu smiled at that. Learning that the humans under him feared him was a good sign he was doing his job well enough.

"Aizawa, I've noticed that you seem less talkative than usual. Has anyone caught your attention?" addressed Principal Nezu, directing his question to the male who remained encapsulated in the darkness. His onyx eyes moved on to the quirked animal.

"Sorry to tell you, Nezu, but even though they have more powerful quirks than the usual bunch, Hizashi is right. They are just as clumsy and make many mistakes as any other contestant who tried to pass this exam." He shifted in his seat, his leathery jacket shaping itself to fit him better.

"For example, contestants cataloged rank three by points has been doing a good job racking up point, but you can clearly see that she is already out of breath not even five minutes after the practical exam begin. Yet instead of taking a small break or helping other contestants that might be in danger, she instead continues to force her body to work until it collapses from exhaustion." Aizawa's voice was rough and uncaring, but he was absolutely right, and Nezu was smiling like a child on Christmas Eve.

"The same could be applied to the second in points, and even though she doesn't seem to show any sign of exhaustion, that does not mean that her idea of covering almost half of city E in her vines is any good since any robot that isn't stuck in that part of the city won't be affected by her attack. That indicates that her "attack" is more for show instead of a tactical one." The multiple screens now focus on city E, half of it covered in green vines that sprouted from every crave and covered entire buildings.

Watching Aizawa's analytic side almost always brought joy to the principal since he was one of the only intelligent monkeys he could hold a conversation with. So it should not come as a surprise when he asked the following question; his eyes shone with glee.

"What about number one?"

To the untrained eye, they would see nothing change, but Nezu, on the other hand, after years of dealing with homo sapiens, was quick to catch signs of all kinds of human emotion, and his right hand, while better at hiding, was no different.

Something finally piquet the interest of the normally apathetic man. And the chimera already knew what.

"He is too god damn perfect."

The loud hero's drink sprayed from his mouth as his eyes almost bulged out of his socket at his college comment. A disapproving frown overlooked the dark-haired man, but nonetheless, he continued his analysis.

"In only six minutes since the exam started, he had amassed enough points to more than double the one in second place, and the only reason he doesn't have more is that there are almost no robots left in the city for him to eliminate." Even though it was a bit strange to see Aizawa compliment someone, he could only nod at the analysis.

"Even ignoring the amount of speed that far surpass almost everyone taking the exam, he also does not think, just pounces like a machine or a wild animal, but while I criticize the candidate in the third place and second place for that, his moves while wild and erratic are all somehow planed, this is something only an individual who practices for years non-stop could achieve."

This...is why Aizawa was his favorite human, and for someone to impress the man so much that he actually praises them was genuinely fascinating.

This year's fresh meatwas really of high quality.

"Once again, Aizawa, you prove yourself worthy of being second in command of U.A, but I might have one more test for our number one that would truly show us the true extent of power he possesses." With an irritating ring, a metal pole sprouted from the ground, and on top of it, a comically oversized red button lay undisturbed.

"So let's see how you fare against Typhon, Bakugo-san."

Before anyone could object, the hand of the principal clam down onto the button, and the world shook.

The participant stood on all fours as he sniffed the ground, trying to track down the machines that lurked in almost every part of the city. The male was tall and had a muscular build covered in thick and shaggy hair, pronounced cheekbones, a long tail, and his most distinctive trait, sharp jagged teeth. His name is Jurota Shishida, and his Quirk Beast gave him the characteristics and qualities of a wild beast while also possessing superhuman strength.

His ears perked as his nouse finally picked up the familiar scent of burning oil.

Found you

It only took a few seconds for him to find his target, to which he eagerly jumped into the air and pounced on the machine's weak neck. Of course, as he expected, the metal that formed the machine bent like it was plastic, and not a moment later, three points were added to his score.

31 points!

A slight smirk spread across his face as another robot came rushing from around the corner, but right as he began his attack, a long muscular tendon shot through the air and pierced the robot core shutting it down.

"Well, well, well!" called out a voice from above, belonging to a male, instantly grabbing Jurota's attention as he looked up." Thank you for keeping the machine occupied long enough for me to step in and completely annihilate it."

The thief that stole his points descended with the help of long flesh-like pillars sprouting from the concrete, creating something similar to a staircase.

"'Buddy' you just stole my robot." His eyes narrowed at the individual, but they seemed unaffected by it as they continued their speech.

"Stole? Now that is just preposterous. I, a hero in the making, could not do such a villainous act." Their speech was almost identical to the heroes in the cartoon. Like bizarrely identical. Their costume was also quite similar to All might latex suit.

"Plus, you can find other robots that yo- HEY, where are you going?"

Jurota deciding he had heard enough, turned his back on him and ran in the other direction. The thing is, yes, the boy was annoying, especially for stealing his points, but he wasn't the one to blame for the boy's irritation.

You see, as he was researching the school entrance exam, multiple sources stated that there is a high number of robots in each city, some tabloids saying the number was even over two hundred, yet he barely found any. No, that was not true. He did find them, but they were nothing but broken and shredded metal. A complete carnage, with the culprit nowhere to be found.

Suddenly out of the ground, a wall of flesh burst to life, stopping him in his track.

"Has no one taught you to not leave in the middle of the conversation, young man."

No fucking way.

For a second, he almost didn't believe it but looking back, he came back with his points thief, who was slapping his feet on the ground condescendingly.

"I will have you know that I will not be dis-"

RUMBLE

The street beneath him cracked, and something burst to life. He could do nothing as he watched breathlessly as dust kicked into the air and the foundation of the entire city slowly crumbled under the weight of the giant.

The boy realized he could do nothing to the robot that escaped just Mount Etna, so instead, he hid near a broken wall in a hunched-over posture. He was on some street near where the robot erupted from, and although not close, he could still overhear the monstrosity. As the second went by, his disgust with himself grew, but it wasn't really his fault.

He wasn't supposed to face something so terrifying in the first hero exam.

Then out of nowhere, something in the air changed. A vicious aura tainted the air, and even though he tried to listen for the robot's whereabouts, something entered his auditory range.

Step, step, step

A couple of seconds later, he realized where he was hearing were meticulous footsteps. Jurota frantically looked around, and his eyes quickly landed on a looming figure only 20 meters away from him.

His hand began to shake, quickly followed by his entire body. The boy had no idea why but his all body simply stopped working. He couldn't move, he couldn't talk, and he couldn't breathe. His eyes widened along with his dilated pupils as his face pale, realizing that air wasn't traveling into his lungs.

No matter how much he tried to regain control over his paralyzed body, it didn't work. And the figure keeps coming in his direction.

A gasp escaped his lips as a strong hand touched his shoulder. Tears were streaming down his face as his legs felt like jelly.

He barely dared to look up at the person, but when he did...he chastised himself for not being a coward.

Two green eyes pierced his soul. They were empty, so empty that he could see in those green orbs. They were void of emotions, no fear, good, wrong. Nothing.

Then the figure spoke, and his voice was crude and hindered by his metal mask.

"You should probably run."

And like a burning fire burst through his veins, like an eternal curse was lifted, he regained all control in a second and could do nothing but agree with the green eyes person.

But, the hand tightened around his shoulder as he was to book it out of this exam.

"And please, don't pray for any deity for help; you never know who is listening."

With the grip on his shoulder finally gone, he didn't waste a second and ran through the street. Nothing matters anymore but getting as far away as possible. Not the pain in his wrist or his slowly fading mental psyche.

It didn't matter that somehow the terrifying individual had heard his prayers.

And he definitely didn't stop as an explosion erupted right behind, burning with a light that predated their cosmos.

Giichi was not having a good time. When the robot broke through the ground, he got a little excited, thinking of the glory he would receive once he defeated the titan. However, his excessive pride and ambition restricted him from reasoning, becoming a victim and enslaved by his ego.

He fought with everything he had, throwing torrents of flesh at the robot, using his quirk to trap his hand so the boy could deliver.

The robot's eye glared up at the enemy from above as the boy fired attack after attack. And at first, it works; he manages to trap it for a few seconds, but that all changes when another set of arms breaks through the black carapace, ripping away the flesh off his hand.

Released from his prison, Typhoon lifted his upper limbs into the air before swatting the boy from the air like an insect.

Bones broke away from the pressure, and a pained yelp escaped the boy's lips as he had a second to brace himself before his back collided with a metal pole. The sound was sickening, but the scream that followed was far worse. Giichi howled in pain as his back burned, and he could do nothing. Thankfully fate seemed kind as his subconscious swallowed

him up and away from the torture.

Other contestants could only look in horror. Everyone expected the exam to be challenging, but something like this wasn't an exam anymore. It was a hunting ground.

"Come on, he didn't even last 1 minute." the chimera reflected his disappointment like a 5-year-old whose toy just broke, "and the others are hiding away; where is the heroism in this new generation."

As he was talking, a package of rice crackers was put on the desk nearby by a metallic hand before it disappeared into a wall. Nezu didn't waste a second ripping the plastic they were wrapped in, sending pieces of rice on the floor. The carnage unfolded before him, and the rat only laughed as he stuffed his face with rice crackers.

So nothing new that Aizawa wasn't used to.

Hizashi, on the other hand, the more emotional of the two, quickly put his foot down, trying to stop the madness.

"Please, for fuck sake, stop the entrance exam," started Hizashi, heading straight into the topic, "you had your fun, but people are already getting hurt!"

"That's not my concern," answered Nezu without a drop of empathy, dismissing the man's plea as he bit into another cracker "all of them decided they were ready to face my exam and didn't take into consideration they might get hurt; that on them not on us, so instead of whining why don't you enjoy the show."

Listening to Nezu speak, Hizashi could barely contain himself and his bitter anger, but he restrained himself, knowing that continuing the argument would only bring joy to the sadistic rat.

The red-eye of the robot scan the ground, and due to infrared, contestants hiding beneath buildings were not safe. Picking up half of a building, Typhoon got a clear view of a few opponents left hiding like insects inside the large building.

Some tried to run; others froze in fear, but none could escape the monstrosity that loomed over them. Yet it seems fate was on their side this time as the sound of footsteps caught the attention of the robot sensors.

Turning his head, Typhoon could see and sense one of the contestants walking toward him. The robots easily deduce that this one seems far more confident than the insect below him, so in a precise motion, he put power in his legs and jumped into the air, the street under him cracking like a stick.

The sentient robot was well over hundreds of tons, so once he collided with the ground, a quarter of the city will most likely be gone.

But the robot would never touch the ground again.

The pavement under the boy with radioactive green eyes cracked, and in seconds was face to face with the airborne robot.

"CLOSE YOUR EYES, AND DON'T YOU FUCKING DARE LOOK UP."

His voice echoes like thunder, and like peasants before a king, the people in city C obliged.

All hell broke loose.

To what people might have first believed, Giichi was not dead or unconscious. I mean, sure, he blacked out for a little, but now he was awake. He was aware of his surroundings but couldn't move even if he tried. The pain was absent, but he was pretty sure if adrenaline didn't course through his body like wildfire, he would be screaming his lungs out. Opening his eyes, he barely moved his head from left to right to check if that monstrosity was still near him, but Giichi was alone. That gave him a boost of energy that provided enough power to his frigid body to move his arm so he could pick himself up. But a voice froze him in place.

CLOSE YOUR FUCKING EYES, AND DON'T LOOK UP

The voice was thunder against his ears. It made him feel like an ant worker when commanded by their queen, and he abided immediately.

An explosion burst into the sky, and for a second, there was silence before the wailing. An ensemble of bellowing screams drilled into his brain as he could do nothing but clench his teeth. The roars bloated the air, and light swam behind his eyelids. The blast's shockwave hit him like a train, throwing him into the air, but while terrified, he didn't dare open his eyes even as his back hit something solid once again, making him grunt in despair. He would die out of fright any second, a pathetic whimper escaping his lisp that went unheard over the cacophony of light plucked at his limbs with razor wires.

But he never realized that while the experience was horrifying and painful, if he didn't listen, his ego got the better, and he opened his eyes.

His mind would have broken like a twig.

-/-

Every camera set up in City C short-circuited just as the number one participant and Typhoon were about to clash. The images fuzzed and glitched before the cameras went out, blackening the faculty's view of the events. Nezu was furious.

Although Hizashi couldn't see it, Aizawa had worked for too many years with the rat to know when he was getting more impatient.

And in all honesty, a rile Nezu was far more dangerous than any villain out there. When the cameras did flicker back to life, though, that is when the absolute shitshow begins.

Typhoon was gone, not a single screw left of him, pulverized to the atom. Tens of millions of dollars evaporated in less than 1 minute, yet, for Aizawa, it was worth seeing the dumbfounded expression on his boss.

-/-

The exam was over, and medical personnel was quickly sent to all cities, but many went directly to city C as it had the most injured.

Buildings topple over, trees burn to ashes, and cars leveled or crushed. The contestants that weren't injured fled to safety, leaving the ones with wounds or even unconscious behind.

The chimera didn't care about their act of cowardness since he had already decided that from city C, only two would have a chance of joining his school classes. First was Giichi, who, although pathetic compared to his Typhoon, still showcased that his skill in using his quirk was decent and, under his subordinate guidance, could be refined into an excellent hero to add to the high number of top heroes to finish U.A. If he survived his injury, that was.

The second one was, of course, Katsuki Bakugo, or number one as he started to call him. It was a shame he didn't see the power of the quirk that destroys his favorite creation, but Nezu is sure he will get the chance to watch it in action.

With the ability to eradicate something like Typhoon from existence while also setting in ruins an entire city, he would be stupid to not let him in his school.

Plus, now that he thinks about it, Bakugo...this is not the first time he heard that name, has he?

Hello and welcome to another one of my chapters, and wow, 5k words. I didn't believe I would write this much.

I hope you enjoyed this chapter, but before I go, I want to mention some things.

First is the role of Jurota Shishida in the future, and although he will not appear for a while, his role in determining what will happen to U.A is critical.

Second, as you might have noticed, the heroes in training are not acting very heroic, which will be a significant point of the story I am trying to write. The only person to have been a true hero at the moment was Izuku, and well...yeah, not happening anymore.

Last but not least, Katsuki Bakugo finally shows and does not show at the same time the power that lies beneath.

With that said, I want to thank you again for reading. Don't forget to leave a comment with any questions you have about the story, and I will be happy to answer them. It is my favorite part of the day.
