Now, I understand if you would like to know more about the demon ghost thing I described seeing earlier. We will get to that later.

First, let me tell you a bit about what happened when I arrived back at the office and met up with the cop that was waiting for me.

Well, as it turned out, the officer happened to be someone I knew and went to high school with. My old mate, Xander Harris.

Harris was seeking me out due to needing a bit of help with a ghost problem his friend was facing.

He was one of the few friends in my life aware of my supernatural abilities. He didn't persecute me for being weird or fear my abilities due to not understanding them. I cherished our bond for that.

For these reasons, I was quick to offer my services when Xander explained how his friend and her family were being haunted by a spirit within their new apartment.

The next day, I met up with my mate and we rode together to his friend's home.

When we arrived at the large apartment building, I paused. I immediately sensed the infestation of spirits. This spot had been renovated. Turned into an apartment complex called The Hyperion. Nice name. Creepy vibe. From what I could tell, the original structure was burned to the ground. It didn't appear very home-like. It was probably a hotel and a very old one at that.

It was no wonder Harris' friend was seeking out an expert ghost hunter. From this infestation, I was quite certain the resident ghosts were being seen in every part of the building.

I expected this case to be an easy one.

I was so wrong about that.

We entered the building and moved toward the stairs. For some reason, the lift wasn't working, which was just bloody stupid.

This was a five-storey building, why on earth would they let the only elevator break and remain broken?

The owner's probably a cheap asshole, I thought as I followed Harris up. I grumbled all the way to the fourth floor, where his friend's apartment was located.

Nothing out of the ordinary had come up until I stepped foot on the fourth-floor hallway.

I suddenly felt dizzy, like I was drunk and the ground started moving beneath me.

I opened my mouth to try and call Harris but the sounds from my throat were all garbled up. I looked around me and I noticed that the hallway was literally spinning. The walls were slowly moving upward and the floor was slightly slanted as if it was being pulled along with the walls. I looked up at the ceiling and saw that there were cracks on it.

From the corner of my eye, I saw a figure standing in the middle of the spinning hallway.

**At first, I couldn't see the figure clearly, but I did notice it was slowly moving towards me. Eventually, I got a clear view of what the figure was. It was a young woman who had dark shoulder-length hair and was wearing nothing but a bra and her undies.

She was walking in an awkward position. Her shoulders were hunched and her arms were bent towards her body. Her legs were tucked together but her feet were far apart from each other, causing her to walk awkwardly.

However, it was the position of the woman's head that really got to me. Her head was tilted all the way to her sternum, thus her mouth was practically all the way up to where her forehead was supposed to be.

She was moaning loudly as she slowly approached me. I stood frozen, unable to move. As she got closer, I noticed that her eyes were hollowed out. All you can see were her empty eye sockets. Their darkness drawing me in.*

She stopped in front of me and I saw her mouth move, but nothing but moans were coming from her. Her bent arm slowly raised and for a moment I thought she was going to touch me, instead, she raised a finger and pointed at something behind me.

I slowly turned my head and felt my eyes widen at the sight in front of me.

It was the ghost demon that I saw from earlier that nearly caused my accident!

He was standing in front of an apartment door, a sinister smile spread on his face.

I don't know how, but he noticed me staring, and the next thing I knew he was standing in front of me, looking like he wanted to kill me.

"LEAVE!" The demon screamed so loudly that I fell on my arse.

"Spike!" I heard Harris cry.

I blinked and then saw my friend standing above me looking extremely worried.

"You okay, man?" He asked, genuine concern all over his face.

I looked around and noticed that the hallway was no longer spinning and the ceiling wasn't cracked. Everything looked normal.

However, I was still shaken by what I saw and experienced.

The female ghost, although she was creepy, didn't scare me as much as the demonic figure did. I sensed the young woman was trying to warn me about the demonic entity and I had a feeling that I should heed the spirit's warning.

I wasn't sure why the demon was present or why he so strongly wanted me to leave, but I got the feeling that if I didn't do what it said I might not like the consequences.

I took Xander's offered hand as he helped me to my feet. His face looked worried so I tried to assure him that I was feeling alright. It was obvious he wasn't convinced.

Fortunately, he let it go and gestured with his head the room to his friend's apartment.

I nodded and followed.

For the second time that morning, my eyes widened when I realized that the apartment that Harris' friend lived in was the same room the demon was staring at earlier.

This did not bode well for me.
