He feels like crap, and he is pretty sure he looks like one as well.
"Dude, you look like shit." Kaminari piped up as he plopped down on the bench he was sitting. From where he was sitting, Kirishima merely sunk down further into the bench and sighed. What he wouldn't give right now to get some much need shut eye.
"Thanks for the reminder." Admittedly, he wasn't in the best of moods today. "It was horrible. Didn't get much sleep last night to catch up on a paper due earlier."
"That's rough," His friend sympathized, placing a hand on his shoulder in comfort. "But, hey, look at the bright side."
"There's a bright side?"
"Yep." Kaminari said, popping the 'p'. "You get to see your favorite barista you love so much."
"I-I don't know who you're talking about." A flush made its way around his face and he sputtered out embarrassedly as he was suddenly snapped out of his worn-out form.
"You know who I meant." Kaminari waggled his eyebrows teasingly.
"I-It's not like that, bro." Kirishima protested though he knew his friend won't be fooled by his words. "I don't have a crush on Bakugou!"
"I never said anything about you having a crush on him." Kaminari said and then he grumbled into his hands in defeat.
Okay, maybe, he does have a tiny bit of crush on Bakugou.
But that's not a problem he'll have to focus on at the moment. It's just a crush, it'll go away eventually, right? For now, though, he has to make it out alive for all of his classes today. Hopefully, it's also something which would soon come and pass on its own.
Sadly, he turned out to be mistaken. The tiredness he was feeling didn't get better, not at all. In fact, it just worsened. Somehow, his head had suddenly started to throb almost as if it is about to split open any time soon.
"A-Are you okay?" At the voice, his eyes whipped up to meet the concerned gaze of a shy blue haired man who he is pretty sure he had seen around before in the coffee shop.
"Yeah." Kirishima replied and proceeded to make his way towards the growing line. The guy, Amajiki as he had noticed from the nametag, gave him a small nod and scurried off to the counter.
As the line started to dwindle, his ears registered the faint sounds of a conversation going on between the blue haired man and Bakugou. Even though he was unable to make out due to his aching head.
"Oi, what's wrong with you?" The booming voice of the barista brought him back onto earth. "You're acting all lifeless and shit."
"I'm fine. I just didn't get much sleep because of a paper." He blinked the drowsiness in his eyes to respond even with his throbbing headache. "I want coffee right now. Maybe a Cappuccino, to go. But anything will do."
At his response, Bakugou fixed him with a very strange look, almost alarmed as the gaze of his blazing ruby red eyes pierced the depths of his soul.
"Hah?" Bakugou said, not too softly. "The fuck did you just say?"
"I want coffee." He replied curtly and almost rolled his eyes. He doesn't really have the energy to deal with the other's attitude with his current state of tiredness. He is only here for coffee, after all.
"That'll be 330 yen." was the robotic reply he received. The air was tense when he gave Bakugou the money and he released a terse breath.
"Thanks." He received the takeout bag from the blond and muttered a soft 'goodbye' before leaving the room.
When the redhead got back home, he was able to be revitalized as his grogginess was cleared up through the Cappuccino. Still, he wonders if he did the right thing because something feels so unnerving. The coffee did its job but he still feels so empty….
Deep down, he knows what could fill the emptiness. It's something he didn't know he would miss so dearly until now- Hot chocolate.
"Shit. I was wrong."
```
The weather is incredibly unforgiving on an incredibly grueling day wherein his classes had run later than expected.
Luckily for him, he happened to come prepared with an umbrella on-hand. However, that doesn't mean that he likes the rain any more than he did more than he does at this very moment.
The thought of his comforting bed seems so enthralling and it draws him in, spurring him into action as he broke into a sprint.
His sprinting came into a halt when he collided into the back of another figure with such force that they both tumbled down onto the ground.
"S-Sorry." He managed to collect himself and proceeded to pick up the fallen bag of the person he bumped into. "Are you okay?"
"Idiot, what do you think?" A voice he knew all too well called out and his head snapped up to meet a similarly familiar face.
"Bakugou." Kirishima's eyes lit up at the sight of the barista who seemed to be currently off his shift. Come to think of it, it's the first time they ever get to interact outside the coffee shop. A random encounter on a rainy day isn't exactly a setting he expected such meeting to take place, but he isn't complaining.
He extended his hand to the other to help him up. As he did, his eyes drifted along the of blond's form to survey the other for any possible injuries when his attention was piqued by something- Bakugou is soaked to the bone.
"You don't have an umbrella on you!" Kirishima exclaimed in concern.
"Ain't that fucking obvious." Bakugou rolled his eyes and stood up, slapping away the hand that was offered to him.
His mind seemed to have a mind of its own as he grabbed the other's arm, throwing caution to the wind.
"Let go." Bakugou said, making a move in trying to wriggle his way out of the redhead's grip on his arm, to no avail.
"No way, dude." Kirishima replied, keeping his grip firm even with all the struggling Bakugou is doing. "I can't let you walk around with no umbrella."
"And why the fuck not?" The blond questioned challengingly though he did pause in his wriggling for just a moment.
"You'll catch a cold." Belatedly, he realized that he wasn't even holding his umbrella and they are getting themselves more and more drowned by the rain as time goes by.
"I won't catch a cold! What do you take me for, an idiot?" Bakugou scoffed. "And it's not like it's your damn business if I do catch a fuckin' cold."
"It is." He promptly replied. "We're friends, after all."
"Since when?" Bakugou sharply replied.
"You can't just say that man." Kirishima winced though a part of him couldn't exactly say that the blond's words were far from the truth. As much as he wants to be friends and maybe something more with the other guy, he doesn't know much about the man in question as much as he'd like.
"Whatever." Bakugou said. "Just fucking let go of my arm already so I can get the fuck home."
"Not until you allow me to help you." Kirishima tightened his grip on the other's arm as Bakugou continued to fight to escape his grasp.
"Is that so?" Beside him, Bakugou appeared to be taken aback a little though he did not allow it show much in his expression.
"Yes." His boldness surprised even him, but he knows that he can't allow the blond to head home in his state without any sort of protection from the rain. "You're stuck here with me until you let go of your pride and allow me to help."
At his words, a moment of silence occurred as Bakugou seemed to be registering his words and trying to decide the best course of action.
Until finally, the blond halted entirely in his attempts in escaping from the redhead's hold on him. He slackened in Kirishima's hold as he breathed out the word "Fine."
"Really?" He blinked at the response he had gotten from the blond, not really expecting for Bakugou to comply to what he said.
"Don't wait for me to change my mind." Bakugou huffed, turning away from him for a moment. "So how the fuck are you going to help me?"
"You can take my umbrella." He stooped down to retrieve the fallen umbrella from the ground to offer it to the blond.
"Forget it!" Bakugou snarled. "I don't want to be in your fucking debt if you catch a cold."
"You won't be." Kirishima assured firmly and resolutely. "Besides, I can just find a nearby convenience store to buy an umbrella."
Bakugou didn't respond as he reluctantly accepted the offered umbrella. Kirishima was about to revel in his success and turn away from the blond, but his arm was suddenly yanked back and he found himself under the same umbrella as Bakugou.
"Get in, idiot." Bakugou sounded almost flustered, refusing to meet his eyes. A pink adorable flush present on his cheeks. "We'll stop by the convenience store so I can get myself an umbrella."
"Got it." He exclaimed cheerfully and did not argue any further, knowing it's the most help the blond would accept from him.
The rain falls as harshly as ever as they started their journey towards the nearest convenience store.
"Sorry." Kirishima piped up in the silence that had transpired between them. Bakugou is being weirdly quiet the whole time they are sharing an umbrella. "Am I taking too much space?"
"You're not." was the curt reply that he shortly received.
The silence then stretches on without any of them saying anything. Normally, his talkative self would be rattling off about random subjects but it's enough to just have the warmth of the blond's body heat, right beside him and under the same umbrella.
"Fucking finally." Bakugou grumbled in relief as a convenience store came into view and he promptly went inside to make his purchase.
"I guess I'll see you around next time?" Kirishima said after the blond had re-emerged from the shop, brand-new umbrella on hand.
"As if your ass would stop showing up at the coffee shop." Bakugou muttered though his words didn't seem to have the bite it normally had.
"I mean you're right, but you didn't have to put it that way." Kirishima rubbed his neck sheepishly and his attention was fully drawn at the next thing which fell from the blond's lips.
"Kirishima." He looked up to meet the gaze of Bakugou who stared at him with an expression almost akin to acknowledgement. "…Thanks."
"No problem." He beamed in response as he waved the blond goodbye. To his surprise, Bakugou actually returned his wave.
He did not let the rain wash away his smile the whole time he was walking back home.
Who knew that good things can come from rainy days?
```
The next time he entered U.A. coffee shop, Bakugou was right by the register as per usual. At his arrival, a co-worker of his, a black-haired man with a wide grin, nudged the blond barista on his arm.
"Your special customer has arrived."
"Fuck off." Bakugou said not too softly and a few customers threw him some disapproving looks in response.
"Kirishima."
"Yo." He raised a hand in greeting. "Busy day today, huh?"
"Yeah." Bakugou mumbled. "You want your usual right?"
He nodded and dug into his pocket for his wallet for the money. However, before he could even bring the bills out of the leather case, Bakugou stopped him-
"It's on the house." The barista muttered. "This way, I'm no longer indebted to you."
"What? You don't have to!" Kirishima shook his head, going over to reach for his wallet again.
"Will you shut up?" Bakugou replied in frustration. "Just fucking-let me do this for you"
Kirishima wanted to argue. He really did, but the barista's expression is unwavering to the end. So, he sighed, knowing that the other would be stubborn to the end and let the other express his gratitude in his own way.
"Okay." He said and didn't miss the way the blond smirk almost victoriously before returning to normal scowl.
"Hey, Bakugou."
"What now?" Bakugou growled as he started preparing the redhead's drink.
"Do you want me to keep you company on your lunch break?"
"Why?"
"I want to." He replied and Bakugou flushed at that. "You don't have to if you really don't want to, but -"
"Fine." The blond interrupted him with his response. "Just don't fucking be too annoying or I'm ditching you."
"You won't be." Kirishima grinned brightly. "Bro, you like me too much to do that."
"Tch." Bakugou clicked his tongue. "Leave me alone and let me do my damn job."
The redhead didn't notice that Bakugou hadn't denied what he said until he was halfway towards the table.
When he did, he flushed bright red 'He didn't mean it like that.' Kirishima reminded himself and a part of him deflated at that. The reminder rang through his head throughout the blond's lunch break. However, as they spent time getting to know each other, he decided that it didn't matter- Not when Bakugou had cracked a little smile at his retelling of one of his gym sessions as he took his break.
They are becoming friends and that's enough for him.
