It was the dead of night. Blackberry Cookie was trotting around the mansion, keeping everything clean and tidy, not leaving a spot of dirt on a surface. It was nearly dead silent in the mansion; everyone was asleep and the only atmospheric sounds that were audible were the rain and thunder coming from the outside.

Blackberry Cookie started to feel drowsy. She put down her cleaning supplies in the bottom kitchen cabinets and then calmly walked upstairs on her way to her bedroom. The wood footsteps coming from Blackberry Cookie were echoing through the stairs.

On her way to Blackberry's bedroom, sudden cries broke the calming silence that was echoing through the entire mansion, which made her suddenly jolt. She assumed that the ghosts that work for her were probably disobeying to scare Onion Cookie or she most likely had a nightmare again. Onion would sometimes wake up in the middle of the night caused by a nightmare and would sometimes immediately come up to Blackberry Cookie to express what's wrong, but this time, she didn't even walk up to Blackberry Cookie but instead stayed in her room.

Letting out a soft sigh, Blackberry Cookie gently opened the door that led to Onion Cookie's room. The young cookie was lying in bed, tightly hugging her bunny plush, tears were freely falling out of her eyes. Her small figure was trembling while letting out shaky deep breaths.

In deep concern, Blackberry Cookie walked up to the bed where Onion Cookie was laying and crouched to reach her eye level.

"Did a nightmare occur again?" Blackberry asked in a soft and calm voice, trying to not scare the child even more.

The small cookie made eye contact with Blackberry Cookie, feeling a tiny sense of safety that her trusted caretaker was on her side. But there was something else bothering her that didn't seem that it had to do with a nightmare or any paranormal activity.

"M- my tummy hurts so much…! Wahhhh!" Onion Cookie cried out.

Oh…

That made Blackberry understand why Onion Cookie was sobbing while she not getting out of bed. The smaller cookie didn't have a high pain tolerance, which meant that she would form tears in her eyes if another cookie accidentally bumps into her.

"I'm sorry to hear that… Did you eat something that isn't sitting well?" Blackberry politely asked. She gently petted Onion's head to calm her down. Besides, feeling stressed would make an upset stomach much worse.

Without saying anything, the smaller cookie simply shook her head. She hugged her doll tighter in an attempt to ease the discomfort, hoping that Blackberry finds a way to make her feel better.

"C- can you make it g- go away…?"

Hearing those words really saddened Blackberry Cookie. While she was already used to seeing Onion Cookie being terrified of any paranormal activity, just seeing her in literal pain breaks her heart, and she would always try her hardest to make her comfortable and safe.

"I will certainly try. Let me go look for this syrup I have in storage downstairs. I will try to be back soon. I promise… " Blackberry offered, gently patting Onion's head, and then exiting the room.

While holding her candle, she went into the manor's kitchen and quietly tried looking inside the cabinets to find syrup that helps with any sort of tummy troubles. Suddenly, one of Blackberry's ghosts was carrying a bottle that contained syrup. It was bubble-gum flavored and it claimed to relieve any sort of digestive issue.

Blackberry thankfully took the bottle and kindly thanked the ghosts: "I appreciate your generosity."

The maid quietly walked up the stairs and entered the room where Onion was in. The poor child was crying while in a near-fetal position, hoping that the pain would go away.

Blackberry poured the syrup into a small dosage cup and then tried to give it to Onion Cookie.

The smaller cookie looked at the consistency of the syrup and already assumed that it was gonna have an awful taste, most likely causing her to puke it back up. She moved up her bunny plush to cover her face and moved her head back a little bit.

"Try to take it. It'll make you feel better…" Blackberry quietly and politely persuaded, crouching down next to the bed to reach Onion's eye level.

Onion Cookie simply shook her head while still having her face buried on her bunny plush. Even the smell nauseated her and buried her face more into her bunny plush to block out the smell.

Blackberry let out a small huff, put down the dosage cup, and started to think of ideas on how to help this poor small cookie, then something instantly popped up in her mind that could help comfort Onion Cookie. It was something that other cookies did whenever she got sick and it would ease the pain that was bothering her for a long time.

Blackberry then grabbed the nearest wooden chair and placed it next to the bed. Onion Cookie had no clue what Blackberry was going to do, but she trusted her so much that she would let anything happen.

The maid then put her hand on Onion's tummy and started rubbing it in a slow and gentle circular motion. She tried to be light on the pressure to not hurt her even more.

The sudden touch coming from Blackberry Cookie made Onion Cookie flinch a little bit. She slowly moved down her bunny doll so she could see what Blackberry was doing. She made eye contact with Blackberry, staring into her gentle and caring eyes, her arm moving in a circular motion, feeling a bit surprised. It's been so long since Onion Cookie has received this type of comfort.

"Does this make you feel any better?" Blackberry gently asked while still doing her strokes.

Without words, Onion Cookie simply nodded. She started to feel quite comfortable due to the warmth coming from Blackberry's hands, feeling like it was some sort of a natural heating pad. Tears started to slow down, felt a bit better, and no longer felt intrusive pain. She blushed a little, feeling that Blackberry isn't only just a caretaker, but some sort of mother figure. It was very unusual for Onion to receive such love and care from a cookie that isn't related to her.

Blackberry started to sing a small lullaby to help the smaller cookie fall asleep. Her voice was so gentle and soothing that Onion Cookie had completely stopped crying. The warmth from Blackberry's hand and her soft and soothing voice have calmed down the atmosphere. The singing continued until the smaller cookie closed her eyes and finally fell asleep.

Blackberry gave a small kiss on Onion's forehead and left for her bedroom to change into her pajamas. Without any hesitations, she went back into Onion's room, tucked in the bed, and cuddled with the smaller cookie. Onion Cookie opened her eyes and looked into Blackberry's eye, feeling safe in her caretaker's arms. She had a question that she has been wanting to ask for a long time, and she felt that this was the appropriate time to ask.

"I- is it okay if I call you 'mom'? I sometimes feel like you are my mommy to me…" Onion shyly asked, tearing up at the fact that she has found someone to be with at all times with full trust.

Blackberry happily responded: Of course! I may be your caretaker, but I will always treat you as if you were my daughter."

The smaller cookie softly cried into Blackberry's chest, it wasn't tears of sadness, but instead, it was happiness. She has finally found someone to be with at all times.

"I love you, mom…!" Onion cried.

Blackberry noticed that tears were starting to fall out of Onion Cookie and brushed through her hair, telling her comforting words: "There, there, I love you too. Now rest my dear ."

And everyone in the room fell asleep.

End.
