Good Day Readers and welcome to the sequel to The Lost Kingdom! Thanks to all of you for the support and I hope that you all enjoy this latest edition of the Hope sisters. This upload will focus on the Grand Prix/Grand Championship arc whilst next week we'll move onto Dawn of the Duel arc

Chapter 5: - Competitive Hearts
I took a deep breath as I walked with a determined stride towards my first match of the KHI Grand Prix, Yugi had kept me abreast of developments during Jounouchi's Duel. I found that I was placed into A Block as well but at the opposite end to Jounouchi so I wouldn't face him until the Semi-Finals, but now it was time for me to face off against my first opponent and it was someone that I was determined to trounce after the gala last night.
"Well, well, I guess it's time for you to put your money where your mouth is," Vivian gloated. I glared at the Asian woman who was my opponent, we were stood in front of the Blue-Eyes Train station, I pulled my Deck out and proceeded to remove my three Primordial Gods from the stack. "What are you doing?!" Vivian demanded. Her Deck was already extended towards me and she was glaring at me.
"I won't need my ultimate cards to stomp you," I retorted. Vivian's eyebrow began to twitch as I extended my Deck towards her and tucked my Primordial Gods safely away in the pouch; she took my Deck and I took hers, we quickly shuffled them before swapping back to our true Decks. "I'm going to make sure you suffer a humiliating defeat," I snarled. I slotted the Deck into my Duel Disk as I moved to head down to my position.
"Ha, like a little girl like you could be a challenge for me. If it had been Yugi-kun or Kaiba-kun, then I could show them my amazing Duel tactics and make them my love slaves!" Vivian explained. In response, my body turn as rigid as stone and I felt my arms start to tremble, I could scarcely believe my ears and whipped around to glare at the harlot. "And then we'd call ourselves the 'Strongest Duelist Couple' and be known all around the world. Doesn't that sound just lovely?!" Vivian squealed. Her face was red and her eyes were closed
"Like I'm going to let you anywhere near Yugi!" I bellowed. Vivian focused her gaze on me, it's fire boring into me, but I didn't care about that fact and instead I took off down the steps onto the platform beneath with Vivian mimicking me but on the opposite side, we came to a stop across from each other and turned to face off.
"Duel!" We both declared. I pulled the first five cards out as Vivian did the same, I quickly looked at the cards and strategies were already beginning to form within my mind based upon what I knew about Vivian's Deck from the times I watched Kylie Duel against her; I wasn't going to lose against this bitch, there was no way that was going to happen. A Blue-Eyes Train rushed between us, whipping my hair in the breeze that came and now doubt doing the same to that damned woman, soon the train left my vision.

"I'll go first! Draw!" Vivian declared. She pulled the card free and only gave it a passing glance before setting the object on to the card reader. "I Summon Kung Fu Nyan-Nyan in Attack Position!" Vivian declared. Now, there was a familiar Monster, it was a part of the combo that Vivian used in order to bring out her ace Monster. "Turn end," Vivian declared.
Kung Fu Nyan-Nyan – Attribute: Earth, Type: Warrior, Level: 4, ATK/1700, DEF/1000
"My turn! Draw!" I declared. I pulled a card free and looked at it before moving it forward. "I activate a Magic card from my hand, Angel's Charity!" I declared. I flipped the card around so that Vivian could see the artwork before I slid it into the Duel Disk. "I can draw three cards from my Deck and then discard two," I explained. I plucked two cards free and slid them into the Graveyard. "I then Summon Bringer of Discord, Eris in Attack Mode!" I declared. I set the card onto the Duel Disk allowing the woman to be projected.
Bringer of Discord, Eris – Attribute: Dark, Type: Demon, Level: 4, ATK/1700, DEF/1600
"Next, I set two face down cards, ending my turn!" I declared. I set the two cards and looked up at the woman I was facing, my strategy was already set in motion all I needed to do was wait for it to start; suddenly a familiar voice entered my ears and I looked over at the bridge were we had been before and smile brightly, I saw all my friend except Rebecca who was dueling and Seto who was managing the tournament, Yugi and my family standing there and I was just about to call out to them.
"AAAHHHH!" Vivian shrieked. The sudden shock of her offensive sound nearly made me bite my tongue. "Yugi!" Vivian squealed. I snapped my head over to her and started death glaring the woman. "Are you here to support me?! I'm so happy!" Vivian squealed. I felt my eyebrow start twitching as panic pulsed into me from Yugi.
"Hey! Yugi is here to support m-!" I began to snap. But the damned bitch just cut me off as she continued to talk to Yugi about defeating me. "HEY! YUGI ISN'T INTERSTED IN A SLUT LIKE YOU!" I roared. This pulled Vivian's attention back to me as I glared at her with all the anger I felt at how familiar and flirty she was acting towards Yugi.
"Huh? And you think Yugi would prefer you? You can't hold a candle to my beauty or wit!" Vivian smugly stated. She even flicked one of the pieces of her hair for emphasis, I couldn't say anything to those words without revealing my feelings about Yugi to her, that wasn't something I wanted to do until I had confessed properly to Yugi.
"Do your best Katherine! Don't lose to that tramp!" Anzu cheered. I looked over and saw my sister giving me a thumbs up as Mum smiled gently at me whilst lifting Yumiko up so that she could see properly, Yumiko herself looked slightly scared at she stared at me – probably my outburst – as the other men were all gathered around Yugi who was staring wide eyed between the two of us.
"You got it, Anzu!" I responded. Vivian returned to her proper place and proceeded to declared that she was fired up all of a sudden and proceeded to Draw her card before activating Kung Fu Nyan-Nyan's special Effect, which increased its' Attack Points by three hundred points so long as she was in Attack Position and didn't attack on the previous turn.
Kung Fu Nyan-Nyan – ATK/1700 – ATK/2000
"Next I Summon Master Jiangshi in Attack Position!" Vivian declared. The masked man, another part of her combo to bring out the Dragon Lady. "Then I'll use Kung Fu Nyan-Nyan to attack Bringer of Discord, Eris," Vivian declared. I was surprised that she didn't use Master Jiangshi in order to deal the most damage possible… but apparently, she didn't have the sense to do such a thing.
Master Jiangshi – Attribute: Earth, Type: Undead, Level: 4, ATK/1750, DEF/1000
"You're really stupid! Trap card, activate! Gravity Bind – Supergravity Net!" I declared. The card rose up. Revealing the Trap card and it began to glow with a pulsing white light. "When this card is on the field all Level Four and higher Monsters are unable to attack!" I explained. When I finished, a faint white pulsing light appeared on both of Vivian's Monsters as Kung Fu Nyan-Nyan froze in mid-air during her attempt at a flying kick, of course my Eris was also bound down.
"I'll end my turn," Vivian stated. Her tone had changed and her eyes seemed to be focusing, at least she was damned well taking me seriously now as an opponent, Anzu cheered for my move whilst Otogi brought up the cost that I had to pay due to Gravity Bind's presence on the field, but the certainty and confidence from Yugi showed at least three people knew that I knew what I was doing.
"My turn! Draw!" I declared. I pulled a card free and I was pleased to finally start the strategy I had put into place. "Now the Special Effect of Being of Youth, Hebe activates!" I declared. A green glow surrounded my body and I felt my strength become even more potent that before, but this was only a part of my move. "As long as this card remains in the Graveyard, I regain two hundred Life Points on each of my turns!" I explained.
Katherine – LP: 4000 – LP: 4200
"Since I gained some Life Points, Bringer of Discord, Eris' effect activates! You lose five hundred Life Points! Curse of Apple!" I revealed. Eris cackled madly as she threw her Golden Apple at Vivian, scoring a direct hit on the bitch's head and sent her stumbling backwards for a few glorious moments, Vivian regained herself and the Golden Apple returned to the madly cackling deity of mischief.
Vivian – LP: 4000 – LP: 3500
"Yeah! And with that, you don't need High Level Monsters to inflict damage to your opponent," Yugi commented. I proceeded to set one card face down and ended my turn, turning the reins of the Duel over to Vivian; I just needed to be prepared for if she tried to do anything do disrupt my strategy, I kept my gaze firmly on the opponent I was facing.
"How dare you… How dare you make me lose face in front of Yugi!" Vivian yelled. As she did a Blue-Eyes Train cut between the two of us and quickly sped away, a smirk was spread across my face at her distressed words. "My turn! Draw! I guess I really am the Goddess of Victory herself," Vivian commented. I wanted to gag at that, my sister was closer to some kind of goddess than this woman. "Magic card, activate! Cyclone!" Vivian declared. The card was projected onto the field. "This card can destroy either one Magic or Trap card. Naturally, the one that I want to destroy is Gravity Bind – Supergravity Net!" Vivian declared.
The spiralling winds burst forward and rushed forward to strike Gravity Bind, Jounouchi seemed worried about this move as the winds started to move closer, but I had already suspected that Vivian would attempt to destroy Gravity Bind. It was exactly why I'd prepared for the inevitability of the attempt to disrupt my strategy.
"Trap card, activate! Magic Jammer!" I declared. The card rose up, revealing my copy of the card. "By discarding one card from my hand, I can negate the activation of a Magic card!" I declared. The winds shot forward and struck the Cyclone on the other side, causing the winds to dissipate and protecting Gravity Bind from destruction.
"You seem pretty determined to ensure I can't use Level Four or higher Monsters to attack. So, I'll Summon Revenge Anger Panda in Attack Position!" Vivian announced. She slapped the card onto the Duel Disk and I felt my body tense up, Vivian had found the way around Gravity Bind and was going to attack now that she had a way. "I activate Revenger Anger Panda's Special Effect! For every Monster on the opponent's field, it can increase its' Attack by five hundred points!" Vivian explained.
Revenge Anger Panda – Attribute: Earth, Type: Beast, Level: 3, ATK/800, DEF/1600
Revenge Anger Panda – ATK/800 – ATK/1300
"It's still not strong enough to threat my Monsters!" I pointed out. Of course, this meant I couldn't risk bringing out more Monsters until I was certain that I could clear that panda off of the field and keep my strategy continuing to move onwards towards the successful defeat of Vivian, the woman probably didn't even realise what I was doing right now.
"I'm surprised, I hadn't expected Vivian to be so easily overcome by Katherine-san," Otogi commented. Honda proceeded to ask him what the game designer meant by that. "Vivian is meant to be one of the strongest Duelist, certainly not on Kylie-san's level but still powerful. I've heard some rumour about her before, she used beautiful tactics and attacks to completely destroy her opponents. During the Asian Tournament, she defeated the supreme Clan of the Nine Dragons. Had Kylie-san not faced Yugi-kun in Duelist Kingdom she would be the Queen of Duelists," Otogi explained.
"Vivian did say something about that during Battle City," Kylie commented. I set my face into a harden expression, this woman wasn't worthy of even facing my sister let alone holding a title equal to Yugi's one, I was going to stomp her flat and prevent her from even attempting to approach the young boy ever again.
"Turn end. How will you escape? You can't win against me no matter what tricks you use. My Panda will get stronger with every Monster you bring out and soon I'll get rid of Gravity Bind, leaving you wide open to my attacks," Vivian arrogantly declared. I allowed a sneer to appear on my face at the words she spoke. "Why not give up and surrender? Little girl," Vivian mocked.
"Two things Vivian! One: I am sixteen years old, so stop calling me little girl! I'm just short! Two: I made a promise to my sister! I never give up!" I snapped. I reached my fingers towards my Deck and prepared to pull the card free. "My turn! Draw!" I declared. I pulled the card free and quickly looked at it as Hebe and Eris' combo Effects activated, causing Vivian to get aggravated at me as she turned bright red.
Katherine – LP: 4200 – LP: 4400
Vivian – LP: 3500 – LP: 3000
"I then activate my face down card! Trap card, Magic Torch!" I declared. The card rose up and a blazing torch appeared and flew over to smash into Revenge Anger Panda. "Magic Torch destroys one of my opponent's cards and inflicts five hundred points of damage onto you!" I explained. Revenger Anger Panda exploded and some burning pieces flew into Vivian, causing her to scream slightly.
Vivian – LP: 3000 – LP: 2500
"I then Summon out Being of Sleep, Hypnos in Attack Mode!" I declared. The sleepy deity appeared on the field, curled up on his side as he easily snored away, completely unconcerned about the battle raging around up and Eris rolled her eyes at her sleepy being's almost incessant laziness, but it was a necessary move for me to make.
Being of Sleep, Hypnos – Attribute: Dark, Type: Angel, Level: 3, ATK/600, DEF/1700
"I then activate the Magic card Harmonic Bond! This card allows me to add the Attack and Defence Points of Monsters with the same Attribute to a single Monster! I give Eris' Points to Hypnos!" I declared. This would increase Hypnos' Attack Power making him more of a threat and he would be able to be an actual threat to Vivian's Monsters.
Being of Sleep, Hypnos – ATK/600 – ATK/2300, DEF/1700 – DEF/3300
"Being of Sleep, Hypnos Attack Master Jiangshi! Lethe's Curse!" I commanded. The sleepy being jumped up with the energy that surged through him and then extended his hand and blew on it, sending a massive cloud flying towards the robed man, he began to cough heavily before collapsing to his knees and shattering into pieces, taking more of Vivian's Life Points with it as well.
Vivian – LP: 2500 – LP: 1950
"I end my turn!" I declared. With that, the effects of Harmonic Bond faded, thus returning Hypnos' points to their true value, which meant if Vivian brought back Revenge Anger Panda, then my Monster was likely to be attacked and destroyed which would take a good chunk of my Life Points from me, I was just glad for using Eris and Hebe in the manner that I had to reinforce my Life Points.
Being of Sleep, Hypnos – ATK/2300 – ATK/600, DEF/3300 – DEF/1700
"How dare you! How dare you! My turn, draw!" Vivian declared. She pulled a card free and looked at it before turning to look at me and selecting a different card. "I activate the Magic card, Resurrection of the Dead to revive Master Jiangshi!" Vivian declared. The Monster reappeared on the field and Vivian selected the card she'd drawn this turn. "I activate a Magic card, Luminous Clouds. This card will use Master Jiangshi and Kung Fu Nyan-Nyan on my field as Releases to Special Summon Dragon Lady!" Vivian announced. The two Monsters shattered into pieces and a pillar of white appeared before morphing into Vivian's ace Monster.
Dragon Lady – Attribute: Light, Type: Warrior, Level: 7, ATK/2500, DEF/2100
"Once per turn, this Monster exchanges its' battling so it can destroy one Magic or Trap card on the opponent's field," Vivian explained. It was obvious that she would aim for Gravity Bind even if I had another card on the field; Dragon Lady pointed her weapons at my field and both swords glowed blue, the same glow surrounded Gravity Bind moments before it shattered into pieces. "And then, I'll activate the Magic card, Mystic Eruption. If a Magic or Trap card was destroyed in this turn, the player will be inflicted with one thousand points of damage!" Vivian declared.
Katherine – LP: 4400 – LP: 3400
"Turn end. Well? Have you got a taste of my strength? It's hilarious that you're called the Chess Mistress in the first place! You'll lose in the next turn! I'm more suited to stand beside Yugi!" Vivian mocked. She then started to cackle like she was some kind of evil witch, but eventually I couldn't hold it in anymore and burst out into loud laughter, silencing Vivian as I wrapped my arms around my abdomen as I tried to reign it in and get my breath back.
"Hahahahaha! Strength! Oh Vivian, you just save me work! I now don't have to go out of my way to destroy Gravity Bind, thanks for that," I responded. Vivian blinked owlishly, completely confused by the words that I had spoken just now and the grin on my face. "It's you who's going to lose Vivian! My turn! Draw!" I declared. Hebe and Eris' combo Effects activated once more, further helping me usher Vivian to defeat.
Katherine – LP: 3400 – LP: 3600
Vivian – LP: 1950 – LP: 1450
"But you are unable to defeat my Dragon Lady!" Vivian responded. However, I was prepared for that fact and I activated the card I'd just draw, Treasure Cards of the Heavens, increasing my hand – and Vivian's but it was necessary – I smiled seeing the cards that were in my hand; it was all I needed in order to achieve victory in this Duel.
"First, I activate Resurrection of the Dead! Bringing back Deity of War, Enyo back to the field!" I declared. The grizzled woman leapt onto the field, although she would be sticking around for long, not for the plan that I had; I reached my fingers over and proceeded to wrap them around the card that would secure me victory in this Duel.
Deity of War, Enyo – Attribute: Earth, Type: Warrior, Level: 4, ATK/1800, DEF/1700
"I then Release Being of Sleep, Hypnos and Deity of War, Enyo to advance Summon Master of War, Ares!" I declared. The two Monsters turned into orbs of light and shot into the sky before turning into the newly Summoned Monster, a towering man with gleaming bronze skin, broad shoulders and rippling muscle across his body; gleaming bronze Grecian armour covered his body in a breastplate, pauldrons and a helmet with a red plume of hair with a skirt made of leather wrapping around his waist, a sword and shield were in his hands and burning red eyes pierced out from the thin helm slit.
Master of War, Ares – Attribute: Earth, Type: Warrior, Level: 7, ATK/2300, DEF/2200
"Thanks to Enyo's Special Effect, if she's used to Summon Ares, his Attack is raised by five hundred points and then I activate the Equipment Magic Chariot of War and Equip it to Ares, increasing his Attack Points by a further seven hundred points!" I revealed. A red glow surrounded Ares as a brutal war cry escaped him, a golden chariot shot onto the field draw by horses which were a gleaming black colour and Ares leapt onto the object.
Master of War, Ares – ATK/2300 – ATK/2800
Master of War, Ares – ATK/2800 – ATK/3500
"But… but even if you defeat Dragon Lady I'll still have Life Points left!" Vivian retaliated. Her face had gone rather pale as she stared at the Monster that I was prepared to attack her with, I smirked at the desperate stench that was coming from the previous arrogant woman; honestly, Jounouchi was more of a challenge than this woman had been, I'd so easily led her through this Duel that it was almost hilarious.
"You clearly forgot about Eris' presence!" I retaliated. Vivian's pale face seemed to go even more pale so that she was almost ghost like as she stared at me. "Master of War, Ares! Attack Dragon Lady! Sword of Battle!" I commanded. Ares seized the reigns of his chariot with his shield hand and cracked the reigns, spurring the horses forward as Ares prepared his sword, once close enough and slashed through the armoured woman, rendering her into pixels.
Vivian – LP: 1450 – LP: 450
"Now then, Eris eliminate this woman! Discord Wave!" I commanded. The mischievous goddess raised her hand and cackled madly as she unleashed a blaze of green energy directly towards the previously arrogant woman, once the wave hit Vivian, her eyes widened in shock and she proceeded to slump to her knees.
Vivian – LP: 450 – LP: 0
Everyone began to cheer at my victory and I turned to the stairs, running up the steps to meet up with my family and friends, they turned to look at me and I saw Yugi smiling at me as I rushed up to them. Some kind of impulse must have overwritten any common sense in my brain, because in the next moment I found myself hugging Yugi tightly, completely not caring at the scene I was probably causing.
"Sorry!" I squeaked. I pulled away from Yugi once I realised what I was doing and felt my cheeks starting to turn a brilliant red colour, silently damning myself for acting so ridiculously just now, I closed my eyes in order to take calming breaths so that I could force myself to calm down before I did anything ridiculous or embarrassing.
"Right clear off the lot of you! Let me handle this!" Kylie insisted. Footsteps soon echoed but I kept my eyes tightly squeezed shut as I tried to keep myself calm down. "Kathie, is there something you have to tell us?" Kylie asked. I opened my eyes and found that only my sister and mum were standing around with, Yumiko conspicuously missing from our group. "Spill it," Kylie pushed.
"I'm in love, completely and utterly in love with Yugi," I admitted. There was no way I'd be able to escape from the interrogation, mum and Kylie were far too perceptive for me to be able to dodge the question that they were throwing at me; Kylie smiled before ruffling my head and mum bent down to press a kiss to my forehead, reassuring me without any words.
With that we caught up to the others and saw on one of the screens that were dotted around the theme park that the second match of B Block was over as well. However, the image soon changed to show the third match of A Block, that person was going to be Jounouchi's next opponent, so it was necessary for him to watch the match, the participants were someone called Fortune Selim VS. Sieg Lloyd.
Unfortunately, we basically learned nothing as on Sieg's first turn, he wiped out all of Selim's Life Points with one card and we barely saw anything through the storm of rose petals that were kicked up.
