Good Day Readers and welcome to the sequel to The Lost Kingdom! Thanks to all of you for the support and I hope that you all enjoy this latest edition of the Hope sisters. This upload will focus on the Grand Prix/Grand Championship arc whilst next week we'll move onto Dawn of the Duel arc

Chapter 16: - Egyptomachy
"Are you ready Katherine?! Osiris! Attack King of Skies, Zeus! Thunder Force!" Yami commanded. The titanic dragon proceeded to open its' mouth and unleashed the piercing attack, blasting apart Zeus since I had no way to protect him, Hades stared in shock at the event he had just witnessed; whilst I braced myself against the powerful waves that washed over me in the wake of Zeus' destruction. "I set one card face down and end my turn!" Yami declared. The card appeared on the field as the surge of wind finally died down.
Katherine – LP: 4000 – LP: 3800
"I know Kathie managed to stand up to Ra, but can she hold out against Osiris and Obelisk if Yami gets him out?" Jounouchi wondered. A reasonable question I was sure, but I had to remain strong if I wanted to overcome the Gods and have even the slightest of chances at defeating Yami; I wasn't about to give up, especially since Osiris and Obelisk were nothing when compared to the flaming chicken.
"Of course she can, you guys are forgetting that Ra is the strongest of the Gods, if Kathie could handle him then she can handle those two," Kylie insisted. Relieved by the belief that my sister had in me I raised my hand to my Deck. "Don't you dare Summon more than one Primordial!" Kylie yelled. An angry tone in her voice, causing my shoulders to slump down as a frown appeared on my lips.
"I'm trying to Duel here!" I responded. With that I refocused my attention on the man across from me. "My turn! Draw!" I declared. With the start of my Standby Phase, the sealant on Primordial Origin was weakened but for now I had to keep myself as safe as possible from any more attacks from Osiris, I looked at my hand and sighed with relief at what it held. "I activate the Equipment Magic! Helm of Darkness! This card can only Equip to Hades and it turns all Battle Damage to zero!" I revealed. Sliding the card into the Duel Disk the dark helmet was projected and Hades slipped it onto his head.
"Meaning that attacking that Monster would be pointless," Yami stated. I nodded my head as I ended my turn, allowing Yami to take control of the Duel as he lifted his fingers up to his Deck. "My turn! Draw!" Yami declared. He pulled the card free and looked at it; meanwhile Osiris' Attack Points proceeded to rise once more.
Sky Dragon of Osiris – ATK/3000 – ATK/4000, DEF/3000 – DEF/4000
"I activate my face down, Reincarnation of the Dead. This allows me to return one Monster in my graveyard to my Deck!" Yami declared. A card was ejected and Yami slid it into his Deck, that card could be anything, but I knew for a fact that it would be dangerous to let him get anymore Monsters out onto the field, especially ones that could Summon out Obelisk. "I Summon Queen's Knight in Defence Mode and set one card face down!" Yami declared. My eyes widened at those words
Queen's Knight – Attribute: Light, Type: Warrior, Level: 4, ATK/1500, DEF/1600
Sky Dragon of Osiris – ATK/4000 – ATK/2000, DEF/4000 – DEF/2000
"Why would you lower Osiris' Attack Points so much? Even if you can't destroy Hades it isn't like I'm not going to Summon out other Monsters, so why do it?" I questioned. I tilted my head to the side in order to emphasise my confusion, Yami simply smirked in response to my words, so I lifted my head up and proceeded to shrug my shoulders in response. "It's your Deck. And, it's my turn! Draw!" I decided. I pulled the card free and looked at it, before moving it towards the Duel Disk "I activate the Magic card, Pot of Greed. Allowing me to draw two cards!" I announced. I pulled free the two cards and looked at them.
"Katherine's really been backed into a corner. With one of the Gods staring her own and her Primordial Gods sealed for at least one more turn, do you think she can turn this around big brother?" Mokuba wondered. His tone had been filled with worry as he spoke, however I didn't hear Seto give any response to the question that had been posed to him by Mokuba and decided to move on with my turn.
"My turn! Draw!" I declared. I pulled a card free and looked at it before a smile came onto my face since Primordial Origin was now free from Light Sword of Card Sealing which enable me to use it now. "I activate Carer of Springs, Persephone's Effect! Allowing me to Special Summon a Monster in my Graveyard to the field! I Special Summon King of Skies, Zeus!" I declared. Pink petals swirled around the field as Zeus returned to the field and I immediately snapped up another card. "I activate Primordial Origin!" I declared. I slid the card into the Duel Disk.
Yami's eyebrows creased with worry as Yugi's spectral form seemed to be panicking at my declaration, of course he wasn't the only one since I heard Kylie switching between English and Japanese as she yelled things at me, most notably being crazy. Buffeting winds began to whip across the Dueling Field as Primordial Origin appeared on the field and I could feel its' effect starting to take effect.
"By Releasing one of the Three Rulers, I'm allowed to Summon a monster whose name has Primordial God or Goddess in it whose summoning condition has been fulfilled! I Release Ruler of Underworld, Hades to Special Summon Primordial Goddess of the Earth, Gaea! I also Release King of Skies, Zeus to Special Summon Primordial God of the Sky, Ouranos!" I declared. The two Monsters disappeared as Gaea rose up from the Earth and Ouranos rippled across the sky's surface. Osiris seemed to take offense to Ouranos' presence as the red scaled dragon soon began to shriek at the Sky Father who impassively stared at the dragon beneath him.

Primordial Goddesses of the Earth, Gaea – Attribute: Earth, Type: Plant/Rock, Level: 10, ATK/4000, DEF/0
"Unfortunately, you activated Osiris' effect! Summon Lightning Shot!" Yami declared. He looked up at the Monster as Osiris opened his Second Mouth and the power began to gather within his maw, I quickly snapped my fingers around a card and I slid it into the Duel Disk just as the two balls of white-blue flames went flying towards the two Gods on the field but I wasn't going to let that happen.
"My Magic, Olympic Blessing protects my Monsters from being affected by any cards for this turn!" I declared. A shimmering barrier landed over my two Monsters just as the blasts impacted their forms, but the shimmering shell protected them from harm and I breathed a sigh of relief at the fact that my Monsters would remain on the field for now; Yami looked annoyed but relented to the twist I'd managed to pull on him.
"Gaea, please! Attack Sky Dragon of Osiris! Nature's Curse, please!" I pleaded. The Earth Mother raised her hands as the circling rocks and petal spiralled around her before being sent flying towards the red scaled dragon, if this hit then Yami would be dealt a significant amount of damage; but knowing Yami's capabilities, I didn't believe that was going to happen or if it did then I was liable to take some damage as well.
"Trap, activate! Holy Barrier – Mirror Force!" Yami declared. Immediately a reflective and rainbow coloured wall appeared between Osiris and the attack ploughing towards him. "When you attack my Monsters, this bounces the attack back at you and destroys all of your Monsters in Attack Position," Yami explained. However, I had a tactic in place in order to protect my Monsters from being destroyed by this retaliation; Ouranos' effect didn't work until he attacked during the Battle Phase but there was something that I could do anyway.
"I activate Gaea and Ouranos' effects! By removing Zeus and Hades from play, I can negate their destruction no matter the means and so long as they remain removed from play, they're indestructible for once per turn!" I revealed. The two cards were ejected and I slipped my cards into my Deck pocket and shimmering shields proceeded to cover the two Gods on my field as the reflected attack bounce against them. "Unfortunately, I can't continue my Battle Phase if I use this effect. I set one card face down and end my turn," I explained.
"My turn! Draw!" Yami declared. He pulled the card free and I felt my breathing getting heavy as my Millennium Gauntlet seemed to be burning like a fire against my skin, clearly Summoning two Primordial Gods was straining me, especially since one of them was Gaea and I was stood on the Earth. "Katherine, are you alright?" Yami questioned. I looked at the man and saw that he was staring at me with concern building within his eyes at my current state.
Sky Dragon of Osiris – ATK/2000 – ATK/3000, DEF/2000 – DEF/3000
"I'm fine, get on with your turn," I insisted. So long as I focused on my breathing, then I would be fine for the rest of the Duel, but clearly Summoning multiple Primordial Gods was a serious drain on my energy; Yami continued to look at me as if he was unsure about making any moves with me in the current state. "I'm not surrendering Yami, keep Dueling," I added on. Sensing my determination, Yami nodded his head and focused his attention on the Duel.
"I activate my own Treasure Cards of the Heavens increasing our hands to six cards!" Yami declared. This was both good new and bad news, it was good since I would get a few more cards in my hand for usage but it was also bad news since it meant that Osiris' stats would be sent flying up and make it much stronger than both of my Monsters; I pulled out the six cards given to me as Yami pulled out the three he was allowed.
Sky Dragon of Osiris – ATK/3000 – ATK/6000, DEF/3000 – DEF/6000
"I Summon King's Knight in Attack Mode!" Yami declared. The Monster appeared on the field beside his feminine counterpart. "Since King's Knight and Queen's Knight are on the field, I can Special Summon Jack's Knight! In Attack Mode!" Yami declared. The third Knight appeared on the field and I felt a pit of worry appear within my stomach at the likelihood of what Yami was planning, he didn't have Obelisk in his hand, that much I could sense but I didn't know what he was gunning for.
Jack's Knight – Attribute: Light, Type: Warrior, Level: 5, ATK/1900, DEF/1000
Sky Dragon of Osiris – ATK/6000 – ATK/5000, DEF/6000 – DEF/5000
"I then switch Queen's Knight in to Attack Mode!" Yami announced. I wondered where he was going with this as he selected another card from his hand activate. "I then activate the Magic card, Royal Straight," Yami revealed. He slid the card into the Duel Disk and the card was projected, revealing a hand holding a set of poker cards, the ace, King, Queen, Jack and ten. "By Releasing the three Knights from my field I can Summon Royal Straight Slasher!" Yami declared. The three Knights vanished and were replaced by a single one in blue armour.
Royal Straight Slasher – Attribute: Light, Type: Warrior, Level: 6, ATK/2400, DEF/1350
Sky Dragon of Osiris – ATK/5000 – ATK/4000, DEF/5000 – DEF/4000
"I activate Royal Straight Slasher's effect, by sending five Monsters from my Deck, whose Levels go from one to five, to the Graveyard I can destroy all the cards on your field!" Yami declared. He pulled out five cards from his Deck and then reinserted it as the cards were rapidly shuffled. "Level One, Cotton Pop. Level Two, Old Vindictive Magician. Level Three, Giant Soldier of Stone. Level Four, Big Shield Gardna. Level Five, Curse of Dragon," Yami revealed. Each of the cards slid into the Graveyard as Yami declared them.
Immediately a power flew out of the sword that Royal Straight Slasher wielded and it cut through my field, but the effects of Gaea and Ouranos immediately protected them from being destroyed fortunately although Primordial Origin and my face down card were annihilated as a result of the effect flying at me. Soon the power faded away and the shockwaves that had come from effect dissipated away, my Monsters remained on the field, but it was enough to concern me.
"With the effect that prevents destruction used up. I'm free to attack your Monsters and remove them from the Duel," Yami pointed out. He had a smirk on his face as he spoke those words. "Osiris! Attack Ouranos with Thunder Force!" Yami commanded. The red beast charged up its' attack and proceeded to send it flying at Ouranos crashing against his place within the sky, it almost seemed to punch a hole through the sky before Ouranos spiralled in on himself and was destroyed by the attack.
Katherine – LP: 3800 – LP: 3600
"I end my turn with a face down card," Yami stated. I let out a sigh of relief at this fact, but I was concerned by the fact that Ouranos had been destroyed, none of my Primordial Gods had ever been destroyed before not even by Kylie; Yami was the first to obtain such a feat and I felt a little terrified by the prospect of what would happen to Gaea, but I never give up even as the fear curled through me.
"My turn! Draw!" I declared. I pulled a card free and looked at it before lifting my head up, Gaea and Osiris had the same Attack Points so attacking the red scaled dragon would result in their mutual destruction, but of course I had Gaea's effect and it wouldn't hurt to take advantage of it. "I activate Gaea's effect, for every Monster on the field she gains five hundred additional attack points!" I announced. Vines suddenly wrapped around both of Yami's Monsters and connected to Gaea's arms and the energy began to pump.
"Even Osiris!" Yami exclaimed. Admitted, even I was surprised by this fact, that Gaea was able to steal energy from Osiris hadn't been something I had been expecting but perhaps it had to do with Gaea's position within her own hierarchy of the Gods; Ra was one of the eldest Gods in Egyptian myths, meaning he was stronger than Osiris and Obelisk – Obelisk was technically a statue and not the name of a God in mythology – whilst Gaea was the second eldest God in her mythos so it did make a weird kind of sense.
Primordial Goddess of the Earth, Gaea – ATK/4000 – ATK/5000
"Gaea, please attack Osiris with Nature's Curse," I requested. The rock and petal storm soon manifested itself and spiralled towards the red scaled God baring down on my field, capturing it within the storm and shrieks began to echo from the dragon before it shattered into pieces; silence reigned over the crowd at what they had just seen happen with their eyes, in fact even Yami seemed shell shocked by what had happened just now… destroying Osiris was something I was relieved to have accomplished. "I set one card face down and end my turn," I stated.
Yugi – LP: 3200 – LP: 2200
Primordial Goddess of the Earth, Gaea – ATK/5000 – ATK/4500
"Impressively done Katherine," Yami stated. He recovered from his shock and turned to look at me with a small smile on his face. "You managed to destroy Osiris, but you already proved yourself capable of defeating Ra when you faced off against Marik in Battle City. However, I am afraid this Duel is over," Yami stated. I furrowed my eyebrows at this, knowing that Yami couldn't sense the Duel's end like I could and I couldn't do that when I was the Dueling. "My turn! Draw!" Yami declared. The card came free and my hackles went up when I sensed it. "I activate the Magic card, The Shallow Grave. This allows both of us to Summon a Monster back to the field from our Graveyards in Defence Position," Yami stated.
"Primordial Gods cannot be Special Summon without Primordial Origin being on the field. In that case, I choose to return Hecate to my field," I explained. Hectae was ejected from my Graveyard as Yami chose to return Cotton Pop to his field, I didn't know what Yami was planning but it caused a sickening feeling to pool within my stomach as both Monsters appeared on the field with Zeus on one knee and covered in crackling electricity.
"I then activate the second effect of Royal Straight from my Graveyard, returning the three Knights to my field!" Yami declared. Royal Straight Slasher turning into light and split apart into three orbs which turned into the three Knights. "I now activate the Magic card, Brainwashing – Brain Control to take control of Mistress of Magic, Hecate!" Yami declared. A 'what' escaped from those of us watching as Hectae was lured over to Yami's field with a dazed look in his eyes. "Now I Release my Three Knights in order to Advance Summon, Giant Divine Soldier of Obelisk!" Yami declared. The three Knights vanished and the towering god emerged onto the field, staring down at me as silence coated the surrounding audience.
Giant Divine Soldier of Obelisk – Attribute: God, Type: Phantom God Beast, Level: 10, ATK/4000, DEF/4000
"Now I activate Obelisk's effect! By Releasing two Monsters on my field I can eliminate your field and deal Obelisk's attack to you as damage, but first I activate my Trap Dimension Reversion, this returns Monsters that have been Removed from Play to our Decks. With Hades back, Gaea's invulnerability is erased!" Yami declared. I took Hades and Zeus out and slid them back into my Deck as Obelsik reached out and seized poor Hecate and the petite Cotton Pop in his hands, draining them of energy until they vanished. "Obelisk! God Hand Crusher!" Yami declared.
The towering God clenched his fist and threw it down with glowing blue light trailing from it, Gaea tried to protect herself from the attack but it was impossible for her to resist the coming attack and her arms were pushed back as the storming winds whipped around, tearing up my face down card and eventually Gaea was shattered apart. With the protection of my Monster gone, I was hit with the full force of Obelisk's effect and felt the power burst through me like I had actually been punched by the God.
Katherine – LP: 3600 – LP: 0
With my defeat, I proceeded to drop onto the side of my left leg, feeling rather exhausted after such a strenuous Duel, I hadn't felt this bad in… well ever since I'd first Summon one of my Primordial Gods. I took deep breaths as I titled my head back, allowing the power to slowly leave my body and let it be returned to normal as my Gauntlet finally started to cool down; however, footsteps began to approach my position and so I tilted my head down to look at the person approaching who turned out to be Yami.
"That was incredible Katherine, you certainly gave me a difficult match," Yami stated. He held his hand out to me so I took a hold of it and allowed myself to be pulled onto my feet by the ancient spirit. "I can't wait to see how much stronger you become, I hope you'll honour me with another Duel in the future," Yami added on.
"Of course, I had so much fun Dueling against you. I can think of only two people who I've had more fun with," I admitted. Yami quirked an eyebrow at my words, but before I could explain my comment – although it should have been obvious who I meant – a clamour met our ears and I turned around to see my family and our friends moving towards us with a mixture of look on their faces.
"You crazy, insane, reckless, little sister!" Kylie ranted. She got near me, worry plastered clearly on her face and seized a hold of my shoulders, with that grip she then began to shake me back and forth like a ragdoll as she spoke; clearly my actions of Summoning multiple Primordial Gods had panicked my sister to this current point.
"Kylie, please calm down," Mum requested. Kylie stopped shaking me as Dad gently settled his hands on her shoulders and pulled her back, but all that did was cause Mum to step up with her own hands gripping my shoulders and a slightly menacing vibe began to roll off of her. "Katherine, dear. What possessed you to Summon out two of them, especially one right beside her source," Mum growled. I stared at the angry woman with wide eyes as worry rattled around inside of me like a bird in a cage.
"Oh for goodness sake! Chiharu! Kylie! Stop that right now! You two mother hen Katherine so much!" Dad stated. He looked completely unimpressed at the other two female members of the family and how they were reacting; he even went as far as to pick his wife up bridal style – causing Mum to squeak in surprise – and deposited her behind Arthur, before walking over to me. "You did fantastic Katherine. I'm proud of you my sweet angel," Dad admitted. He quickly pulled me into a hug causing me to giggle slightly at his words.
"With this the KHI Grand Prix is over!" Seto declared. The man had appeared on the field and the surrounding audience proceeded to cheer at the announcement and I let a breath of air escape from me. "I'll start preparing a ride for all of you back to Domino City, but I'll need a little time. Until then enjoy Kaiba Land as you wish," Seto insisted. He then turned around and began to walk away from us.
"That boy, honestly," Dad commented. He shook his head in exasperation before turning his attention to Yami. "It's a pleasure to finally meet you, I've heard much about you from my daughters, wife and of course my younger brother. He says hello by the way," Dad stated. Yami stared at my father, perhaps unsure of how to react to the man who was the elder brother of the guy who kidnapped Suguroku's soul. "Don't worry, I don't go around kidnapping souls. Promise," Dad commented. A teasing smile on his face and Yami smirked at those words.
"I'm sure you don't. You couldn't have raised Kylie and Katherine into such kind women if you did," Yami responded. I sighed slightly in relief that the two of them were managing to get along and even Kylie seemed thankful about this fact whilst a faint stain of red spread across her face, causing an eyebrow to be raised by me; a sudden flash of light came and Yugi had replaced Yami now.
"I'm honour to meet you Hope-san," Yugi greeted. He even bowed to our Dad at the end, causing Dad to raise an eyebrow at the boy and a critical looked appeared within them one which was more intense than the look he had given to Yami; this caused a bubble of worry to rise up within me as Yugi rose up from his bow and looked at Dad. "Is everything ok?" Yugi gently questioned. His eyes were filled with confusion and worry at the intense look Dad was giving him.
"So, you're the boy who is Soul Bonded to my youngest daughter," Dad stated. His tone stiff and severe, I groaned out loud at this before moving over to stand in front of Yugi with an unhappy look on my face. "Oh alright Kathie. I won't pester the boy, but he had better not hurt you," Dad relented. I smiled brightly at this before Dad turned around and began to walk off, saying something about needing to talk to Seto and Uncle Pegasus.
"We might mother hen you, but you've got Dad wrapped around your finger," Kylie commented. She had moved over to stand beside me as she said those words whilst I smiled teasingly at my sister. "Well, let's take Seto up on his offer and have some fun before we take off," Kylie insisted. With sounds of agreement from everyone, we ran into the amusement park to finally have some relaxation as I undid the binding on the door linking me with Yugi.

The next day, our plane had been readied and so we prepared to take off which led to goodbyes to the Hopkins, mine and Kylie's family and Otogi at the airport. Kylie was able to come back with us since her work was done and so we all boarded the plane and it took off into the sky; soon we would be back in Domino City.
'And that means our next task will be getting Yami his memories back.' I thought.
