Sofia looked at her dinner. Everyone was eating peacefully, she saw how amber and her dad were having their conversation about today's event. Today was the dads and daughters day, she had fun that's what she would always say in her head, though it's true she had a few fun memories from today's event though she knew she messed up half of it

Right sofia? Amber asked

Huh? Sofia asked while immediately looking at them.

They all looked at her with concern

Sofia you haven't touched your dinner once is everything ok? Her mother asked sweetly

Sofia if you don't like the food I could have the royal chefs prepare you something! just say what you want to eat her father stated to her kindly

I'm, not hungry she smiled weakly excuse me I must go to my room

After that she left her family, they all looked at one another trying to figure out what just happened

Did anyone of you did something to upset your sister? Miranda asked seriously

No mom James stated he was with dad and amber remember? He stated

Miranda looked at both of them, the two tried figuring out what happened till it hit amber

Oh no! Amber stated in horror

I think I know the reason, but you won't like it she stated

Daddy remember today how Sofia felt before we did everything to cheer her up? Amber asked

Roland remembered the times where Sofia would blame herself about everything she did wrong for the day, she looked so sad and upset

Well yesterday Hildegard said something about daddy just being her step father, I defended her saying that step dads are just as real as dad-dads though I think she's still affected by hildies words amber stated

Miranda and Roland looked at each other in horror. James just sat them in royal flabbergasted

Meanwhile Sofia entered her room, she closed it shut then she began crying, she went to her old trunk she tried finding the most important thing that she hid years ago After a minute or so she took out a sailor hat, she hugged it and poured her emotion out

I miss you dad she murmured, She held the cap and began crying on the floor, she didn't care about anyone or anything at this moment, all she did was remembered the times where she would hang out with her father before he got lost in the sea, even though they were minimum she cherished them a lot.

Her room door suddenly opened, her family looked at her from a far, it broke their hearts to see her crying and grieving. This hurt Miranda the most, she knew how hard it was for Sofia to accept that he was gone, she would wait for him every day for years hoping he would come back Roland couldn't bare to see his daughter suffering so he entered her room, he approached her and took her to his arms

Dad? She asked while looking at him, her eyes were so puffy and red

Its ok Sofia, I'm here let it all out he whispered while trying to calm her down, she continued crying until she finally calm down

Sofia I want you to remember that I will always be your father, even if were not related by blood, just like how Miranda will be James and ambers mother. I don't care about what they say, they can say anything they want but that wouldn't change the fact that you are my and Miranda's child, you and amber and James I love the three of you and I would do anything to make you safe and happy because you are my children I love you Sofia he stated

Sofia smiled, that was all she needed to hear her heart began to warm up again, her dad was right, she didn't care about what Hildegard said, she loved his dad even he wasn't her real dad

Thank you dad and I love you too she smiled and hugged her, Roland hugged his daughter back, then Sofia signalled the three to join in, they didn't resist to say no That was all she needed love and family
