For as long as Lena could remember, Lena always had the same dream once a week. She would walk down the corridor surrounded by eight different colored lights. She would reach the corridors end and see a bunch of eggs. These eggs were huge and multicolored lately they've been shaking like they're going to hatch. And then at the end of the dream they would all fall.
Every time that happened Lena would wake up. This night was no difference and Lena would lay in her bed just reading a book. Tonight it was Sun Tzu's art of war Lena liked to think that she was philosophical. Finally around 6:00 a.m. her brother Johnny would wake and she always knew because Johnny was pretty loud.
When Lena was quiet and thoughtful Johnny was always boisterous the life of the party and full of energy. Lena quietly joked sometimes that he was full of Monster Energy drink instead of blood. Like she did every morning she ran off into the bathroom to do her morning ablutions before he could ruin the bathroom. Why their dad made them share she would never know.
It was slightly odd for a single man to be raising two children a boy and a girl. But their mom was sick very sick. Johnny and Lena visited her once a month at the psychiatric institute she stayed in. Munchausen's by proxy they called it Lena still had the scars to prove it. But not Johnny, Johnny was their mom's Golden boy.
Having finished her morning ablutions Lena went and cooked breakfast like she did every morning. Living with two boys one learned if they wanted to eat quality food they had to make it themselves. Lena however left the dishes for her father they'd long since had massive arguments about who did the cleaning. In the end however it was decided if Lena cooked someone else cleaned and it was their dad's turn.
Quickly making up a stack of pancakes, sausage links and scrambled eggs with cheese. Lena set them on the table with a bowl of fruit that she knew only she would touch. Just as she finished setting up the table her father walked into the room. Bob O'Neill was just as boisterous as his son but just as clever as his daughter.
Bob O'Neill was a great big tall and fat man. Standing at just over 6'2 and weighing in at 330 lb no one missed Bob O'Neill when he walked into a room. People always said that Lena took after her dad they had the same eyes they had the same hair but personally Lena thought she looked more like her mom. Lena was curvy in all the ways that Bob was large. As for her brother Johnny was every bit as tall as their father though he was rail thin like a bean pole.
After finishing their breakfast and hugging their dad Lena and Johnny ran off to school. Lena went and sat in the back with her friends. While Johnny set up front with his friends. Personally Lena thought Johnny could get better friends she'd rather preferred to call them bullies if she was honest. But no matter how she tried Johnny just didn't want to hear it.
As for her friends there was Luke, Damien, Harmony, and Daniel. Luke was a total nerd with a goth exterior he never went out without wearing head to toe black but he was also the best social justice hacker that nobody knew about. Damien was on the varsity basketball team but if you really got to know him he was a total goofball a real heart of gold. Harmony was the mom of the group everyone loved her and harmony was queen of the school dance troup. Lastly Daniel was the new kid a total Wizkid in biolabs if there was anything to be known about animals or plants he knew it.
As for Johnny's friends there was Justin, Xavier, Mary, Blake and Beth along with Johnny they were the most popular kids in school. Justin was everyone's go to hyperactive ADHD kid with a dark side a different girl every week all with their heartbroken. Xavier was on the football team and he could bench press a tractor most people would say but he was arrogant and everyone knew it. Mary was captain of the cheer squad she was also a total witch with a b. Blake was King of the drama club and him and Justin went hand in hand when it came to the same issue a different girl every week all with her heart broken. Lastly there was Beth student body president earth goddess of the hippies and total sociopath she didn't want anybody unless they were dating someone else and she was good at stealing boyfriends too, Lena would know.
All of them used to be great friends having grown up on the same street. Lena remembers the last birthday they all went to together it was her brother Johnny's and there was a bouncy castle. Just as they were getting ready to pull up to the school Lena heard in her head "it's time". Everyone's cell phone started to go crazy and next thing everyone knew they were falling into a big black hole.
When Lena woke up the very first thing she saw were a pair of big glowing red eyes.
So naturally her first instinct was to scream "Aaaaaahhhhhhh".
What she was not expecting was for the creature sitting on her to do the very same thing. Upon closer inspection it seemed to be a gray and purple furred claw with a head attached covered in the same gray and purple fur with a pair of big red eyes. The creature didn't appear to have a mouth and Lena really did not want to know where it was. Honestly having calmed down now Lena thought the creature was kind of cute.
What she was not expecting was for the creature to speak "sorry about that I'm Tsumemon and you and I are going to be partners isn't that exciting" the creature said with obvious glee in it's voice.
