*In the middle of the night Carlos wakes up screaming and runs out of the shelter freaking out and crazily scratching his body*
Whoa, whoa! "Logan says as he gently grabs him* What's wrong?
Carlos: My body feels weird!
Logan: Ok hold on let me look *grabs a stick and puts it in the fire to make a torch to see his frightened friend's body* You're covered in big red spots. You must've been bitten by a bug. Could've happened when you were in the jungle yesterday but it's not your fault. You didn't know this would happen
Carlos: What's gonna happen to me Logie? Will I die?!
Logan: You're not gonna die. These look like mosquito bites
James: Are you sure?
Kendall: What if it's not?
Logan: I remember from my Boy Scouts book on different things that can bite us outside and naturally mosquitoes was on the list cuz everyone eventually suffers from their bites. I don't have any aloe lotion. Maybe rubbing some water from the ocean will help. I think the salt might be soothing. Take off your shirt and put on some swim trunks so you'll be more comfortable
*Carlos does as told and sits down in the shallow end of the ocean and vigorously rubs water all over his body. He starts to calm down but the itching decreases a little. After 2 hours he's bored and tired and lies back down. By dawn they all get up and stretch*
Kendall: You should just rest and relax today Carlos
Carlos: I can't do that. I wanna help with whatever we have to do today
Kendall: There's nothing much we can do today
James: We have a problem. We're out of fresh water. We drank a lot of it last night and early this morning
Logan: That means we'll have to go in that unpredictable jungle again. There might be a river in there
Kendall: You saw what happened to Carlos. We can't go back in there
Logan: What other choice do we have Kenny?
He's right "James says reluctantly" We have to go back in there. Maybe cuz it's morning we'll be safe
Logan: Here's the plan. James you stay here with Carlos. Kendall and I will search for any kind of water source
Carlos: You need a buddy system call. If you get separated and need help you'll have to make a sound to alert each other
Kendall: Like what?
Carlos: A crazy bird sound. Like this: Ca Caw! Ca Caw!
Logan: Ok buddy we'll do that. Thanks
Kendall: Do us all a favor James and try not to upset him again
Logan: If he starts scratching again just bring him back to the water and help him rub the salt on his sores
James: Ok l'll do that
*Kendall and Logan nervously enter the jungle and search for any kind of water source. The heat and humidity slows them down in their search but they don't give up*
Logan: Look at the moss on these rocks. If I remember correctly from one of my science books that means a water source is nearby. This way! *Points ahead*
Ok "Kendall says exhausted and fatigued from the heat" Let's find it quickly. I'm really thirsty *Keeps following him*
*After 30 minutes they hear a loud stream and walk up to it*
Logan: Perfect but I doubt this is 100% clean for humans. I know just what to do to make it safe for all of us to drink *Uses a large bucket to scoop up as much as he can. Then they head back to the beach* I have to boil the water first to filter out anything we shouldn't ingest* I saw this on Bear Grylls
James: That guy is a wackadoodle. I saw him fast asleep and a freakin TARANTULA crawled on his face and he DID NOT react! That's crazy right?!
Logan: Yeah. How you feeling Carlitos?
Carlos: Hungry. Do we have any fruit smackers left?
Logan: I think we have only 2 bags left
Carlos: Oh no! What are we gonna go?!
Logan: Relax. We'll be ok. We'll have to fish
Carlos: Ew! I hate fish!
Logan: So do I but we have to do whatever it takes to survive *Boils the water and waits for it to cool down before pouring it in their empty plastic bottles*
*Soon they all go to sleep*
