Chapter One: Gifts To Friends
"Special delivery!" Steven shouts happily as he holds out a wrapped in green box to Peridot as Alexis is standing nearby in the Crystal Gems house.
"Oh. Wow. Thanks. It's a... a rectangle." Peridot says as she rips open the box and pulls out an electronic device before Steven takes the gift ribbon and puts it on Peridot's hair.
"And a tablet!" Steven says happily before he takes the tablet and turns it on as Alexis walks over.
"You can use your fingers to work it." Alexis says as she shows Peridot how to work the machine.
"Like my old finger screens!" Peridot shouts happily.
"But now you have the Whole Worldwide Web to hang out on." Steven says.
"We figured it would keep you occupied when you're bored." Alexis says.
"Worldwide? Ha! I had the ability to search and retrieve data from across multiple star systems." Peridot says proudly as Alexis rolls her eyes slightly while smiling.
"Hmm. impressive. But I can do you one better. TubeTube." Steven says as he opens up the app on Peridot's tablet.
"Why was this documented?" Peridot asks as the group looks at videos.
"You can log your thoughts on the internet too. You just have to keep it under 140 characters." Steven says.
"Cool huh?" Alexis asks.
"That's so many people!" Peridot shouts happily as she watches a cat video.
"I can make you an account so you can start logging as soon as you want. But you can thank Al-" Steven then gets cut off by Peridot.
"Peridot Thank you so much Steven. I really, really like this, but it's a shame it doesn't come attached to your body." Peridot says before she runs over to the cabinet and begins rummaging through it.
"It's alright Steven. She's... still adjusting in some cases." Alexis says.
"I know you enjoy being around her but I do wish she'd take more notice to you." Steven says as he looks at Alexis.
"As I said it's alright." Alexis says as she looks down slightly.
"I'm gonna leave the profile stuff blank for you to fill in later. There." Steven says as he sets up Peridot's profile before she runs back over.
"Gimme! Behold! My innovation! I've harnessed the power of your interlocking fabric strips." Peridot shouts happily as she takes the tablet and uses some tape and velcro to attack it to her waist.
"Yeah I guess you have. Nice job Peridot." Alexis says as she smiles.
"Why thank you. I told you my intelligence is high for this type of stuff." Peridot says as she blushes slightly.
"Good thing I grew out of those shoes." Steven says as he looks at a destroyed pair of shoes nearby.
"Yeah but at least she's happy too." Alexis says as she smiles at Steven.
"To have tech again. It feels good when everything is at your fingertips." Peridot says happily.
"Yo. You guys look like you're having fun." Amethyst says as she walks in.
"Oh Amethyst. What do you think?" Peridot says as she shows off her handiwork to amethyst.
"You look like a square." Amethyst says.
"Amethyst." Alexis says as she looks at Amethyst.
"What? She does." Amethyst says.
"It's a rectangle." Peridot says.
"Anyway you three ready to go or what?" Amethyst asks.
"Yep." Alexis says as she nods.
"Yeah." Steven says.
"Go?" Peridot asks.
"We're heading out and we wanted you to come along with us." Alexis says as she smiles at Peridot making her blush.
"Hang out? Oh yeah. That's a friend thing to do. So where are we hanging out friends?" Peridot asks.
