In the johto region in ecruteak city a young boy with dark colored skin and black spiky hair was about to go on an amazing journey. This is Daniel and It was his tenth birthday and like all kids he was up late the night before too excited to go to sleep. In the morning though his father's houndoom Doomer decided it was time for him to wake up by pulling off his blankets and licking his face till he woke up.

"Doomer no stop! Down boy down!" Daniel shouted at his father's best friend. The houndoom just looked at him with his tail wagging then pushed him off of the bed.

"Hey what's gotten into you anyway." he said with a yawn still tired he stood up and wiped the slobber off of his face. He sighed and left his room to go wash off his face only for doomer to grab him by his sleeve and pull him downstairs.

"Doomer what's going on?" Daniel said when they got downstairs his houndoom began to push him to the backyard. When they got there Doomer gave him a shove and he fell forward. Doomer then ran over to his father who was sitting in front of him.

"Good boy Doomer thanks for waking him up." Mathew said he grinned at his youngest son. Who stood up.

"Dad what's going on, why did doomer drag me out here?" he asked as his father just smiled and patted his pokemon on the head. He then walked over to his son and smiled.

"Don't tell me you forgot what today was," his dad said, the smile not leaving his face, Daniel just sighed not knowing what was going on until he was tackled by a black blur that knocked him onto his back. When he got a good look at it he saw a houndour with spiky tufts of fur on his head and he was smiling at him. It took Daniel a moment to remember what day it was. He jumped up hugging his new houndour as his dad laughed and smiled.

" Took you long enough to remember. Happy birthday Daniel. '' he says, hugging his son he took him inside and took him to the kitchen where they saw an older boy with dark brown hair cooking breakfast next to a slightly older girl with violet hair. These were Daniel's older siblings Mike and Sera the two of them were both happy for their little brother finally turning ten and getting his very first pokemon. When breakfast was ready they all sat down and his siblings wished Daniel a happy birthday.

"So tell me bro.. What are you going to do now that you have a pokemon?" Mike asked him to think for a moment.

"Sadly the silver conference isn't active this year although I hear that kanto is having their indigo league. Sera said Daniel was still thinking he finally had a pokemon but he didn't really want to be a normal trainer.

"Ok you two i know you're curious as to what your younger brother will do now but he just got his houndour he still has to give him a name first remember." their dad said causing all of them to smile. Naming your pokemon was a tradition in their family. Daniel now had to think up a name for his houndour. After breakfast he got dressed in regular clothes and decided to visit his childhood friend sakura. He told his family he would be back later and headed off to visit sakura. As he walked he looked at his houndour that was walking by his side and smiled. He patted his houndour in the head and he looked up at him and smiled. When they got to Sakura's home he was hoping they weren't busy as he knew they were . His houndour then sniffed the air and ran off into the yard.

" Hey houndour come back!: he shouted at his pokemon as he ran after him. When he ran into the yard he sighed when he saw his houndour growling at a flareon who was growling back he groaned and ran over to his pokemon before picking him up. A red haired girl ran over along with a few other girls each with their own eeveelution. These were sakura's older sisters and their pokemon. Satsuki, sumomo, Tamao and koume. Along with a jolteon vaporeon and a umbreon

" flareon what's going on?" koume said before noticing daniel who waved.

"Daniel, what are you doing here?" Satsuki said though she was happy to see him since he and sakura are best friends. Daniel just smiled and showed them his houndour and the girls all gasped forgetting it was his birthday at that moment a eevee ran out of the house followed by a girl with pinkish hair Daniel smiled happily to see his friends.

"Daniel, I knew I recognized that voice. What are you doing here?" Sakura said while hugging her friend she didn't notice the blush on his face when she hugged him though. The two of them began to talk and daniel introduced his houndour to sakura and her eevee she was so happy that he had finally gotten his own pokemon and remembered it was his birthday.

"Oh yeah I just remembered I have something for you. Hold on a sec." she said before running into her house she came back out a few moments later holding a present. She handed the gift to her friend who smiled. Houndour sniffed the present and poked it with his paw causing the others to laugh. Daniel decided to open his gift and smiled when he saw it was a bandanna for him to wear. Daniel was happy for the gift.

"So Daniel what are you going to do now?" she asked causing daniel to sigh and shrug

"I honestly don't know if the silver conference will take place for another year." he says.

"Then why not travel to the kanto region. I hear the indigo league is being held this year. I know it's a tradition to travel through your own region first but why not travel through kanto for your first journey." she said giving daniel an idea he could go to the kanto region and maybe just maybe if he is lucky find a contest to enter.

" sakura that's a great idea thank you!" he shouted, hugging her. She was at first surprised but then she smiled and hugged him back at their eevee and the houndour jumped and wanted to be hugged as well so the trainers hugged their pokemon. Daniel got up and told Sakura he was heading home to tell his dad and siblings about his plans, happy that he now had a plan and knew where he was going. To the Kanto region when he got home he told his family his plans of going to Kanto. Surprising them.

" Are you sure you want to head to Kanto? You could train here for a year, you know." His father said Daniel just smiled and shook his head.

" No way dad, I want to travel around. I want to camp in the wild, I want to catch new Pokemon and Dour is ready to head out right boy." he said looking at his houndour. Who barked smiling at him his father sighed but couldn't help but smile when he was young he couldn't wait to travel around with his houndour. He looked at his houndoom laying on the couch and smiled. He looked back at his son and patted him on his head.

" ok ok i know how stubborn you can be when you make up your mind. You can travel through kanto." he said causing his son to jump with joy he ran to his room with dour by his side packing up his stuff. And changing his clothes. Once he was all ready he came downstairs wearing an orange shirt black jacket and grey pants. And red and black shoes. When he got outside he wass actually surprised to see his family and some friends waiting out their he even saw Morty the city gym leader.

"Hey morty." daniel said to him morty wasnt just the gym leader he was also a good friend to the family. He smiled and walked over to daniel.

"Cant believe your already ten years old and going on your very own journey now Daniel." moarty said Daniel smiled he looked up to morty and was happy to see him. Morty even handed him a small box Daniel opened it and saw it was a Dark blue colored pokegear the new model as well. Something that daniel would need on his pokemon journey. He flipped it open and saw it already had his familys number and mortys as well. Sakura walked up to him and showed him her pink one. The two shared their phone numbers so they could communicate with each other. Daniels father walked out with his charizard ready to fly his son too the kanto region. The two of them climbed aboard the charizard daniel returning his houndour to its poke ball. The two of them took off for newbark town so Daniel could get his pokedex.
