After getting his pokedex and 6 pokeball from prof elm Daniel headed for the kanto region it took him a while but he was now finally in cerulean city. While in kanto he tried to catch some pokemon but he didn't succeed. While looking around cerulean city he noticed that the gym. Was a water type gym which worried him he heard that the gym would be holding the contest in this city. He was actually pretty excited like he had butterfree in his stomach he sighed and walked into the gym. As he walked into the gym he bumped into another trainer
"Ow watch were your going!" Daniel said to the trainer he had black spiky hair red baseball cap and a blue jacket he also had a Pikachu on his shoulder.
"Sorry i didn't see you there" he said getting up off the ground Dour saw the Pikachu and began to growl at it. Daniel looked at his partner and sighed he really needed to train his houndour better.
"Dour stop barking at the Pikachu you don't wanna get shocked now do you?" he said to his pokemon who listened the trainer looked at his pokemon he then took out a kanto pokedex and tried to analyze houndour.
"No data found on pokemon" it said. Daniel couldn't help but laugh he noticed the other trainer looked surprised so he knelt down and pet his houndour head
"Don't worry houndour aren't too rare in the johto region." he said smiling the trainer looked at him surprised suddenly a voiced called out to him.
"Hey Ash there you are come on we need to meet with brock at the pokemon center." a red headed girl said the boy ash looked at her and gasped
"Oh man i cant believe i forgot sorry misty see ya later kid." ash said running off. Daniel sighed and waked into to gyms lobby up to the front desk he looked around noticing the watery design of the place when he got to the front desk he talked to the receptionist
"Hey i heard that there will be a pokemon contest held here later." he asked the receptionist looked at him then smiled.
"That is correct would you like too enter in the contest" she asked daniel smiled and nodded he had to give her his pokedex so she could register him. Afterwards she gave him a ribbon case and a id card that had his picture on it and told him the contest would be the very next day after finding that out he decided to explore the city a bit as he was exploring he noticed that dour wasn't with him.
"Oh man were did he go?!" he shouted as he scrambled too find his pokemon he ran around calling dours name but couldn't find him he decided too head to the pokemon center too ask around. When he got too the pokemon center he was surprised by the crowd there.
"Wonder if theres some type of event here." he said he then saw the boy from earlier and decided to ask him if hes seen his pokemon as he approached them he saw there was a nother guy in their group a dark skinned man who looked tough
"Hey uh your names ash right?" daniel asked looking at ash who looked up at him
"Oh yeah your the kid i bumped into at the gym." he said smiling his pikachu smiled as well.
"Yea sorry about that but i have a question have you seen my houndour?" he asked ash looked surprised
"Did something happen to him?" he asked looking worried daniel looked down and sighed
"Yeah we decided to explore the city but we got separated at some point. Its weird dour usually tracks me down when we get separated like this but its been too long and I'm getting worried." daniel said ash and his friends looked at eachother and nodded.
"Ok we will help you find your pokemon." ash said daniel smiled
"Oh thank goodness thank you so much oh yeah i forgot my name is daniel." he said introducing himself.
"My names ash this is my partner pikachu." ash said petting his pikachu who jumped on to his shoulder.
"My names misty nice too meet you." the redhead said
"And I'm brock from pewter city." the bigger guy said daniel smiled and they all left the pokemon center to find his houndour.
"Any idea where your pokemon would be?" misty asked. Daniel looked down shaking his head.
"If i had to guess id say his curiosity got the better of him we just got to the city the other day we've never even been too the Kanto region before. We're from the Johto region we decided travel here so i can start a pokemon journey." he said the others nodded and continued to look around. But after a few hours it seemed like they were never gonna find Dour.
"I don't get it my houndour never wonders off this long" daniel said with sigh ash looked at his new friend feel bad for him a as they walked they noticed a crowd forming.
"hey whats with the crowd?" brock asked a person who turned too him
"these people say they have a rare pokemon and will give to the trainer who pays the most." he said the group decided to check this out after making their way too the front they saw a lady with long red hair and a guy with short blue hair.
"come one come all take a look at this exotic pokemon never before seen in the kanto region!" the lady shouted she had a big grin on her face
"this one of a kind pokemon could be yours if the price is just right" the man shouted daniel looked at the crowd wondering what the pokemon could be. the duo then pulled the curtains back to reveal...Houndour!
"huh that's my houdnour!" daniel shouted in surprise dour looked at daniel and began to bark happily seeing his trainer
"huh what do you mean? this isa never before seen pokemon found here." the lady said the crowed looked between the two not knowing who to believe
that's not ture houndour aren't super rare you can find them in the johto region where I'm from. now give me back my houndour!" daniel yelled at them but the duo just grinned
"sorry little boy but you are gonna have to show some proof" the lady said daniel looked down not knowing how to show proof.
"hold on a moment where did you guys find this houndour anyway?" brock asked getting suspicious of them the two looked at him and they began to sweat a bit.
"well we found this houndour here today in fact." the blue haired man said daniel glared at him.
"what a coincidence i just got here today and my houndour went missing earlier." he said looking at dour.
"come on its obvious that you guys took him now unless you want trouble-" misty said but as soon as she got interrupted.
"trouble you say i think you should prepare for trouble." the red head said catching the attention of ash, brock and misty. daniel just looked confused
"and i think you should make it double." the blue haired man said holding a rose.
"to protect the world form devastation. to unite the people within our nation. to denounce the evils of truth and love. to extend our reach to the stars above. Jesse, James" the two said they threw off their costumes revealing their team rocket uniforms underneath.
"team rocket blasts off at the speed of light. surrender now our prepare to fight. Meowth that's right." they finished their motto and a talking meowth showed up. ash and his friends got ready for battle but daniel just stared confused
"team rocket give back daniels pokemon." ash said
"sorry twerp but we will be taking this pokemon to the boss." meowth said.
"no your not dour smog attack lets go!" daniel shouted. dour grinned then spewed smoke from his mouth daniel covered his mouth and ran into the smoke to grab dours cage he was able to grab it and ran back to ash by the time the smog faded.
"don't you worry dour i'll get you out of this cage i promise." he said trying to break the cage.
"sorry but only this key can open this cage." james said holding up the key
"you want to battle for it come on." jesse said throwing a pokeball james threw one as well releasing a ekans and koffing.
"guys i only have dour i don't have any other pokemon."daniel said ash and brock gave him a kind look
"don't worry we will handle this right brock." ash said brock nodded and they each threw a pokeball revealing a butterfree and a geodude. and the battle began butterfree vs koffing and ekans vs geodude. as they were battling meowth snuck around to get dours cage
Hey twerp hand over that cage." meowth said showing its sharp claws. daniel stood in front of the cage putting himself inbetween it and meowth.
"you want the cage not gonna happen go staryu." Misty shouted throwing a pokeball and a big orange star with a red gem came out. as soon as he saw it daniel froze up shaking.
"staryu use rapid spin." misty said and staryu began to spin rapidly and rammed into meowth knocking it into james knocking him to the ground dropping the key.
now's our chance butterfree whirlwind." Ash shouted butterfree began to beat its wings rapidly causing a powerful gust of wind to blast team rocket into the air.
"i was so hoping to give that dog to the boss it has to be rare." jesse said as she was sent flying.
"something tells me we'll be seeing more of that boy." james said
"and he will be seeing more of us." meowth said.
"team rockets blasting off again." they shouted together. back on the ground things were calming down the gang were able to open houndours cage and as soon as he was out he knocked daniel to the ground licking his face.
"dour i missed you to but stop. come on boy." he said when houndour finally stopped he was still smiling
"i'm sorry i lost track of you earlier and this is ash and his friends they helped me find you." he said ash and the others introduced themselves to houndour. he and pikachu got along pretty well
"now then lets get you to the pokemon center so you can rest for our contest tomorrow." daniel said. ash gave hima confusing look.
"contest?" he asked daniel just looked at him and smiled.
