Daniel and the others had left cerulean city and where now resting in a forest they knew that it would take them a while too get to amber town for daniels next pokemon contest and daniel was taking the time to train his houndour.

"ok dour use ember now!" he shouted and dour responded with a ember attack small fireballs shot out of his mouth. he was aiming at the sky the fire balls looked pretty strong but daniel wanted the attack to look cool not just strong. he would need to train his houndour and hopefully he would learn to do flamethrower. before he could call out another attack his stomach and dours stomach began to growl.

"guess we are both hungry huh dour." he said Dour nodded and the two of them headed to where brock was cooking and saw he was making a stew ash tossed two pokeballs into the air and brock and misty followed suit. all their pokemon came out of their pokeballs suprising daniel.

"wow these are all your pokemon." daniel said surprised to see all their pokemon ash and the others nodded.

"yep so daniel whats your plan for when we get to Amber town?" misty asked as they helped set up the folded table that brock had in his backpack daniel stood up and sighed.

"we first I'm gonna need to get dour here stronger so we can have more attacks to use in the contest." he said going to his pack back he took out an empty pokeball.

"but first I'm gonna catch myself a new pokemon. i know i cant just use dour all the time so i think its time we got a new friend what do you say dour want to make a new buddy." i said to my houndour he nodded barking at me.

"ok well lunch will take a while so why not go and catch a pokemon." brock said as he got ready to make lunch. dour and i headed out to explore and see what pokemon we could find. as we looked around i saw a few rattata and a weedle or two and pidgey were everywhere but i didn't want to catch any of those pokemon i wanted a special pokemon. it us a while but we ended up finding a blue nidoran and smiled.

"just what we were looking for come on dour lets catch it!" Daniel said getting excited dour ran forward ready for battle. the female nidoran looked at me surprised but got ready for battle it even attacked first charging at dour as its horn glowed a purple color.

"Careful dour that's poison sting!" Daniel shouted to him, he jumped to the side and avoided the attack but this was one aggressive nidoran as it began to fire poisonous needles out of its mouth.

"here comes another poison sting use ember and counter attack!" Daniel shouted holding the empty pokeball dour ember attack wa able to counter the poison sting attack and even damage the nidoran a little bit but it shook of the pain and charged at dour and this time its horn glowed a whites color.

"this is a horn attack dour use smokescreen." shouted. dour released a cloud of smoke from his mouth and the nidoran had to stop its attack cause it was blinded by it.

"ok dour now use bite." i shouted hoping this would be enough to weaken the nidoran dour ran forward towards the nidoran however to their suprise the nidoran winked at them and glowing pink hearts appeared and circled around dour. they the all hit him and his eyes became hearts and he wouldn't attack,

"don't tell me, this nidoran knows attract!?" Daniel shouted in suprise the nidoran then jumped and kicked dour in the face multiple times before he fainted and it ran off. daniel ran over to dour.

"oh man this journey really isn't turning out that great is it pal." he stated to his houndour as he picked him up. Dour shook his head to get rid of the attract and licked daniels face trying to cheer him up. daniel carried him back to the camp sight and lucky for them lunch was ready brock had made them some stew and was feeding the pokemon when he noticed dour and daniel coming back.

"Hey guys i was just about to send ash out too find you." he said he noticed how down daniel seemed to look.

"you ok daniel?" he asked, misty and ash looked at him and he just sighed before setting dour down he headed for the food

"i found a nidoran that i was trying to catch but it caught us off guard and used attract on dour. before running off." he explained. he was actually a bit annoyed first he couldn't catch an pokemon on his way to kanto then he utterly failed his first contest and now he cant even catch a nidoran.

"well nidoran are difficult pokemon to catch" misty said trying to cheer up daniel but sadly it didn't seem like he was gonna cheer up any time soon. as the group ate Daniel decided too look at his pokedex to learn more about nidoran and he was surprised to to see what moves a nidoran can learn.

"man if only i had caught that nidoran i would finaly have two pokemon: he groaned brock went back to finishing lunch and the group was about to eat when they got a uninvited visitor. a female nidoran ran out from the bushes to the group. daniel and dour were surprised he saw the same nidoran that they had encountered earlier however it looked injured.

"hey that's the nidoran from earlier!" Daniel said in surpries he ran over to the nidoran it growled at him though so he took a few steps back he turned to dour who nodded and walked over to the nidoran and managed to calm it down. daniel then gently picked up the nidoran and bandaged her up.

"i wonder why this nidoran was injured you said you didn't deal to much damage to it before right?" misty asked daniel looked at her and nodded.

"yeah if anything nidoran dealt more damage to us then we did to her. so why are you here nidoran?" daniel said the nidrans ears stood up and it bit daniels pants and began to pull him towards the bushes ash and the others followed as they followed they noticed that the nidoran looked really worried.

"i wonder whats doing on?" daniel said when they came out into the clearing the group was shocked to see a bunch of nidorina and nidorino along with a nidoking and queen however they were all in cages. and standing infornt of the cages where jessie james and meowth.

"oh no not these guys again!" daniel shouted he and dour were surprised to see them. however ash misty and brock just sighed.

"was wondering when we'd see them again." ash said calmly

"How are you so calm!" daniel shouted at him even dour barked at ash.

"Oh great its the twerps and they got the new one as well." jessie said

"what kind of trouble are you starting now?" brock said

"oh you know its time to prepare for trouble. and be sure to make it double. to protect the world from devastation to unite all people within our nations to denounce the evil of truth and love to extend our reach to the stars above. jesse, james team rocket blasts off at the speed of light surrender now and prepare to fight. meowth that's right.: they said. while they were saying that the group had snuck past them and were trying to open the cages.

" Hey pay attention its very rude to ignore people!" jessie shouted daniel turned to look at them

"release these pokemon now." he said but team rocket just grinned. and glared at him

"you want them released fine then you'll have to battle us" james said holding his pokeball

"your up dour lets go." daniel said ash stepped up next to him and nodded. jessie and james released their ekans and koffin and the battle began with pikachu using thundershock shocking koffin dour used ember on ekans who dodged the attack and used wrap on him but he spewed smokescreen right in its face then used bite on it causing it to let him go. pikachu knocked koffin into ekans and combined his thundershock with dours ember sending them flying into jessie james and meowth who dropped the key and the gas koffin realesed caused an explosion that sent them flying.

"looks like we are blasting off again."

"Man i hope we dont see them again." daniel said as brock picked up the key and freed the captured pokemon. they got thanked by all the poison pokemon and while they were leaving the nidoran that daniel tried to catch caught up with them.

"hey what are you doing here don't you want to go home with your family?" he asked but surprisingly the nidoran wanted to go with him he smiled and held a pokeball out to the nidoran and it poked it twice then got sucked in.

"alright i got a nidoran!" daniel shouted,

now daniel had two pokemon and still a long way to go before he gets to amber town and who knows what will happen next time on pokemon
