"Chloe!" Lucifer screamed as Michael stabbed her with his weapon, a staff made from The Tree of Life.
Chloe didn't hear him, all she felt was white hot pain.
"No, no, no, no!" Lucifer sobbed. This was his fight, not hers.
"I warned her, she shouldn't have been here." Michael already dropped his weapon, seeing his brother crying made him feel regret.
"We all make our own choices." Chloe wanted to cry, but she had no tears. She didn't regret anything, no way was Michael winning this fight, even if it meant her death. She lifted a hand near Lucifer. "I love you." Was her last words before she saw darkness.
"Mmm. This sandwich is amazing!" It was just like home. She was having a picnic lunch with her late father in Heaven.
"I remembered how you like it." He and Chloe lived together at her childhood home, it was just like old times. They came here to eat lunch, John Decker wanted to show off the town he lived in. "Tuna fish, your favourite."
"It is actually ham." Chloe corrected. "Tuna is mom's favourite." They already had egg sandwiches the day before, Chloe raved about the taste.
"Is it? Oh well, you never complained, you always ate the leftovers."
"Only because you made them with love." Chloe missed her dad so much. "So how's Grandma and Grandpa Decker?"
"Mom is busy with helping St Peter greet the newest guests, while your grandpa is spending time having scotch and brandy with your uncles."
"Just like old times." Her grandma was always reading the bible, unlike Chloe who was a atheist, Grandma Decker was very religious. Her grandpa was as well, but always liked to relax with a scotch on Saturday nights with the boys. "So how's things?"
"Good. The Silver City is beautiful as always, my colleagues are always visiting, I'm always never lonely." John's former partners as well as former cops died while John was a rookie. He sighed. "Monkey, why are you up here?" His little girl.
Chloe sighed and put down her sandwich.
"I was hurt." She couldn't remember why. All she remembered was the pain. "All I remember is I died helping someone." Heaven, Chloe couldn't believe It really existed. "It's so peaceful up here."
"Yes it is." John took Chloe's hand. "Monkey." The nickname he always called her since her miraculous birth. Him and his wife always were told it was impossible. "You have to go back."
"Go back? Why?" She was happy. Both jumped when they saw a comet crashing.
"Your ride is here." John already knew. He waved to a injured and exhausted Lucifer. He looked at a teary Chloe. "We'll see each other again. You, me, your mom. We can eat egg sandwiches by the lake, just like when you were a little girl."
Chloe's memories came back.
"Trixie. The War." Michael and Lucifer's fight for Power. Chloe died getting the Weapon to throw the fight in Lucifer's favor. Michael killed her in retaliation. "I don't want to leave you." She missed her dad for years.
"I'll be here. Go. I'll see you again.''
Chloe woke up in a hospital room. When her eyes cleared, she saw a overjoyed Trixie.
"Trix?" Her daughter was crying with tears of joy. She saw her friends, Linda and Maze standing by the bedside. "Where am I?"
"The hospital." Linda tells her. "The doctors spent hours fixing you up." She wasn't at the fight, Charlie needed her. But when she found out what happened to Chloe, she called a babysitter and came rushing over. "You were very close to dying."
"You can thank Lucifer for saving your life." She wanted to beat the crap out of him for putting Chloe's life on the line. "He flew your ass here. You should have seen everyone's faces." The angels, they were forced to wipe their memories.
"How long was I out?" Chloe barely remembered anything.
"A few days. Only family is supposed to be here, but being a demon came in handy." Linda lied and said she was Chloe's sister, and Trixie was too young to be here alone. Maze used her mind tricks to get everyone to let her in.
"Oh." Chloe was so tired. "I'm gonna take a nap." She was so tired.
"Okay. Get some sleep mommy." Trixie only called Chloe mommy when she was worried or scared.
Chloe closed her eyes.
She was walking in a white...somewhere. The last thing she saw was Rory's face. Rory was apologizing for taking Lucifer away from Chloe.
"Hello?" Why wasn't she in Heaven? That was the last place she seen the last time she died.
"Hello Chloe." Amenadiel, now God was greeting Chloe. "I'm here to take you home."
"Home? You mean Heaven?" She shook her head. "It won't be the same without Lucifer." She spent decades missing him. She got married when Trixie was sixteen, Ella, her good friend from the Police Department introduced her to one of her brothers from Detroit, he moved to LA to open up his own car repair shop and he and Chloe hit it off. He passed away three years ago of a heart attack. Chloe missed him, but knew he was happy in Heaven.
"I know." Amenadiel knew. He takes Chloe's hand. "Let's go."
Chloe woke up to see sunshine on her face.
"Morning!" A chipper voice calls out. "Mom, it's after ten, you promised to take Charlie to the science museum."
Huh? Chloe blinks to see a young woman standing by the window.
"Trix? Where's your sister?" Rory was usually the one to wake her up.
"Sister? Mom, you been dreaming again. C'mon. Maze is already here, she's getting impatient." Trixie flounces out of the room.
Chloe looks around her bedroom. Huh? This wasn't her room. This place looked so unfamiliar. When she looked at the nightstand, her eyes widened. She hurriedly gets dressed.
"About time Lazybones!" Maze teased. "I couldn't wait, so I ordered." She points to a bag. "There's pancakes in there, eat up, we have to meet with Linda at the museum soon."
Chloe didn't understand what was going on. Where was Maze's ring?
"Is Eve coming with us?"
"Eve?" Mazikeen shook her head. "She's Upstairs." She pointed up. "Cain and Abel got their walking papers. Her and Adam are making up for lost time." She takes out her phone. "Once you're done eating, take a shower, you smell like a hospital."
What? Chloe was even more confused. Never less, she goes upstairs to shower.
She tuned out Maze who was yapping about some guy she caught in New Mexico, some criminal that was on the run for years for embezzling money from a posh school. The last thing she remembered was saying goodbye to Rory who was apologizing for separating her parents.
"I understand now! Mom, don't change anything! It's supposed to be like this!" Chloe already knew what she was talking about. Lucifer returned to Hell to help the lost souls in Hell. The last time she saw him was when she was pregnant with Rory. She missed Lucifer everyday.
"Decker! Are you listening!" Maze was clicking her fingers at her.
"Wha? Sorry." Chloe was so confused.
"Don't blame you. You had a hard week. Being a lieutenant is hard." Mazikeen was a bounty hunter, she worked for several law enforcements across the country, the police lieutenants were one of the most stressed out people she ever seen. "Trix had to go to class, but she promised to meet up for lunch." Once they pull up to the museum, she tips the driver. "C'mon."
When Chloe walked inside, she saw her friend Linda with her son.
"Aunt Chloe!" A little boy runs into Chloe's arms.
"Hi Charlie." Chloe forgot how cute he was. She hugs him back. "Hey Linda. Where's Amenadiel? He and Linda co-parented together.
"Doing his Heavenly duties." Linda smiles at Chloe. "Come on, you promised to take Charlie to the park later with Trixie." Chloe was still confused, but she follows Linda anyways.
After a fun filled afternoon, they pick out bouquets for Dan and Charlotte.
"Daddy. I miss you everyday." Trixie was in college, but she missed her dad like crazy. He was killed in a line of duty by a madman. She and Chloe already said goodbye to John Decker, he died before Trixie was born. "I hope you and Charlotte are happy." She found out the truth about Lucifer, but still maintained a scientific mind. She and Chloe place the flowers down. "Mom, is he happy?"
"When he sees you again, he will be. Until then, you know he's content that you're alright." She places her arm around her adult daughter. "Lets go home." Ella was throwing a party at the Decker house.
Chloe was shaking her head at Trixie, she and Mazikeen were throwing back jelly shots. Both were drunk, Trixie was celebrating passing her finals. The house was bumping, Ella's husband Officer Carol Corbett were acting out as the DJ.
"Having a good time?" Azrael rarely came to Earth, as the Angel of Death, she was always busy. But she was taking a break, just for tonight. She was the only angelic sibling that Chloe liked other Amenadiel.
"I guess." Chloe declined to drink, she was stoned cold sober. Why, she had no idea. "I thought you never came to parties."
"Too many died, just for today, Earth can relax." Azreal didn't care for alcohol, instead she was drinking a pop. "You nervous?"
"Should I be?" Chloe did everything she ever wanted. Except one. "I'm going to take some fresh air." She goes outside to sit under the stars.
"Lucifer." She teared up. "How long as it been for you?" For her it's been decades. For him, it was most likely eons. "If this is Heaven, then why aren't you here with me?" She sighed. "Rory, she said it was important that we don't change the future, but it's over now." She died surrounded by her friends, she and Rory were alone when she took her last breath. "Michael is happy, why aren't you." The picture on the nightstand was of a now human Michael carrying a little girl on his shoulders. Seeing the golden wings, she had to assume it was his daughter. She sighed. "Rory, she said it was important that everyone was saved. But what about us. You suffered so much." Lucifer was stuck in Hell trying to console every soul downstairs. According to Maze, many went to Heaven. She teared up. "You don't have to be alone, I'll go wherever you are." She waited long enough.
"Decker! Come inside!" Mazikeen calls out. Her wife Eve came down to Earth to party with everyone else.
"Coming!" Chloe missed everyone, especially Trixie. She goes inside.
"Mom. Mom!" Chloe blinks and sees a little girl shaking her awake.
"Rory? What time is it?"
"It's time." A eight year old Rory climbs off the bed. "Hurry, the buns are almost ready to come out of the oven."
Smelling a delicious cinnamony scent, she gets out of bed to have a shower. Once she goes downstairs, she couldn't believe it. "Lucifer."
Lucifer was wearing a black silk robe, his pink apron was covering the front. He smiled at Chloe when she walked in.
"Morning Detective." He was holding a glass jug with orange juice. "The buns will be ready soon, sorry I missed the party last night, Gabriel lost her music sheets again and all of us had to go Earth to find them. Sisters." He shook his head. He was startled when Chloe threw herself in his arms and started kissing him. "Morning to you too." He was presently surprised. "I should leave town more often." He kissed Chloe back with the same passion she showed him.
"Don't you dare." Screw the souls in Hell. Lucifer belonged to her. "Where's Rory?"
"School. I already sent her with the buns I made last night. Trixie drove her." He looked confused at her. "What's wrong?" He saw Chloe staring at his ring.
"Are we married?" She wasn't sure if Lucifer believed in marriage, but she secretly looked at Pinterest blogs about weddings before Lucifer went away. If so, where was their wedding pictures?
Lucifer puts down the jug.
"You must still have flashes from the accident." Chloe's near death, the massive blood loss caused a near fatal brain bleed, thankfully the doctors saved her life. "We been together for years. Our baby, Trixie, we both raised them together." .
"A second chance." She hugs Lucifer again. "What about the souls." Rory made it clear that everyone needed to be saved.
"I'm not the only one." He and a few of his siblings all took turns watching over Hell. "Elaine, she acts as a ferry." Lucifer and Michael made up, wasn't easy, but when Elaine and Rory were born, both didn't want their children hating each other because of them, so both forgave each other. Michael agreed to become human, he figured it was a suitable punishment. "Why, what's up."
"Nothing." Chloe met God, the last thing He ever said is to always have faith.
"Well then eat up, I have to bring these to my patients. Le Mec's and Worthington's appointments are today." Le Mec, being a French citizen, preferred French pastries, but loved Lucifer's cinnamon rolls. Mary grew up rich, but wasn't allowed to have sweets growing up.
"Not alone you're not." She been to Hell with Lucifer, a few minutes up on Earth could be months downstairs. "I'm coming with you." No way was she staying alone again.
"Well then get dressed. We have all eternity."
