"Good morning, class!." Miss Carney smiled at the children in her Kindergarten class as she began to explain how much fun they would be having that year.
Kelly sat in the back of the classroom as she nervously glanced around the room. She didn't know anybody in her class, and she didn't like feeling alone. She felt that way enough at home.
Dylan was sitting quietly in the corner of the room as he waited for his teacher to tell them they could go and do their own thing. He kept trying to ignore the very talkative blonde boy next to him.
"I'm Steve! I can't wait to be best friends," The blonde smiled at Dylan who just returned a small smile before going back to daydreaming.
"Alright class now you can go and explore the classroom!" The teacher exclaimed as the students all scattered in opposite directions.
A small blonde girl nervously approached Kelly with a smile, "Hi… wanna play in the kitchen with me?"
Kelly nodded her head as she smiled brightly, "Yeah!!"
"I'm Donna. What's your name?" The girl asked as they started playing in the kitchen.
"I'm Kelly." She smiled at her new friend as they continued to play together.
"Can I play with you guys?" Steve rushed over to Kelly and Donna who were now playing restaurant.
"Sure! You can be the customer." Donna said excitedly.
Steve smiled at her and then smiled at Kelly who was looking at him, trying to figure out what she thought of him.
"I tried to play with that kid over there, but he just wanted to look at the books." Steve said in a whine as he pointed to Dylan who was sitting by himself in the corner flipping through a picture book.
