To say that Omega was "irritated" was putting it lightly.
A few hours ago, Sonic, tiny baby Sonic, and the Rookie had just defeated Eggman and his reality warping gem. Eggman's Empire was brought down, the Resistance saved the world, and tiny Sonic went back to his dimension. Or time; the way the two-tailed fox explained the situation was convoluted at best.
And then clean-up had started. Omega was going to go look for Eggman, since the doctor had mysteriously disappeared after the fight with the two Sonics and the rookie. Unfortunately, Shadow had stopped him.
"Omega, where do you think you're going?" The black hedgehog asked. Omega rotated his head 360 degrees to look at his teammate, while continuing to walk away.
"I'm going to look for Eggman. His presence is no longer in this fortress, therefore I must look for him elsewhere," Omega curtly replied. Shadow raised an eyebrow and crossed his arms, prompting a confused look from the machine.
"Was there a factual error in my statement?" He asked. Perhaps there was some sort of signal that blocked his sensors, preventing him from locating Eggman. Omega quickly walked up to Shadow, reminding the black hedgehog of a kid in a candy shop.
"There is an error. You're going to help with the clean-up," Shadow says, pointing his thumb towards the giant fortress behind them. Omega's shoulders sag in disappointment.
"Clean-up has nothing to do with destroying Eggman," Omega says, pointing a claw at the hedgehog.
"You're right. Now come on. We've got a lot of work to do before we can start returning this world to its former glory."
"Clean-up has nothing to do with destroying Eggman," Omega repeats.
"I'd say that we need about two years before the forest that used to be in this area can fully regrow. There's also the lake that Eggman drained in order to actually build the damn fortress."
"Clean-up has nothing to do with destroying Eggman."
"There's also the matter of the robots left over from the war. Who knows how many Eggman robots are left over. It could take weeks to eradicate Eggman's robots," Shadow finishes with a sly grin. Omega perks up, having heard his three favorite words in the same sentence.
"I will gladly assist in the eradication of Eggman robots!" Omega declares, opening up his torso, arms, and shoulder pads to reveal an unnecessary amount of firearms, rockets, lasers, and a chainsaw. He's never found a way to use it effectively, but he's definitely going to use it someday.
"Good," Shadow smiles.
It was only after the fact that Omega realized that Shadow had tricked him into helping with loading giant pieces of rubble into the garbage trucks. Any robots that he did find had already been deactivated, presumably when the two Sonics and the rookie had destroyed the Mega Death Egg Robot. Disgruntled and extremely annoyed, Omega lifted one of the MDER's arms and threw it to one the various dump trucks surrounding the Eggman's ginormous machine.
"That's another arm down," One member of the clean-up crew announced, tapping the truck on the side and letting it know it was okay. "Thanks for all the help, Omega–" The worker was cut off when Omega turned his head and glared, making sure to increase the brightness on his eyes.
"Okay then! Don't mind me, I'm just gonna…" She vaguely motioned to the right, and scurried away. If Omega was capable of laughter, he might've chuckled at the sight.
Hours had passed, and Omega was deep inside the remains of the MDER, clawing his way through wires and reinforced armor. His claws scraped through the metal like butter, and if it was too much for his hands to handle, he'd just switch to his flamethrower.
As he continued to dig his way through, Omega noticed a subtle pinkish-purple glow coming from the side. He changed directions and scraped away the metal walls, eventually reaching a too-small laboratory that Omega can barely fit inside. His chassis was scraping against the desk in front of him and the computer screen's on the other side.
And in the center of the desk, was a purple gemstone with black stripes, glowing with a strange power.
The Phantom Ruby.
Omega was confused. Sonic had claimed that the Phantom Ruby was destroyed when they performed the Triple Boost, and yet here it is, with not even a scratch on it. Reaching into his memory files, he located the video of Tails explaining how Eggman made multiple prototype Rubies. Perhaps this was simply another one? But, that conflicts with another file that states Infinite had destroyed all of the Phantom Ruby prototypes, not including the one the Rookie used to get rid of the illusory sun. Maybe Eggman kept a spare one, so that he can use it against Infinite if the jackal went rogue.
Regardless of the reason, the Phantom Ruby was much too dangerous to be kept lying around in some sort of facility. Omega awkwardly reared back his fist, elbow joints cracking the screen. Omega turned around, trying to get a better view of the gemstone, and for his fist to get a better trajectory. Once he found a suitable angle, Omega turned on the propulsion system inside his forearm, and threw his metal fist forward with all his might.
Admittedly, punching a highly unstable, dimension warping gemstone was probably not the best way to destroy the Phantom Ruby.

There are only two times when Omega has ever gone offline, and both times he's woken up he was thrust into rather strange scenarios. The first time, he attacked his two future teammates under the belief that they were robots made by Eggman. The second time, he's been told that Eggman had taken over the world, and the final battle had already started without him (how rude).
Somehow, this was even stranger than those times, and he's fought a jackal that can bend reality.
Omega was inside a room made with black walls, lit up only by his red lights and the floating purple candles. The wall is made of a black, sleek material, sort of like marble, but his sensors suggest otherwise. And most curiously, this room had two humans, one that looks like a half-breed of a mobian and human, but mostly leaning towards the human side, and one white skinned human-like creature.
The first human was a woman, exhausted and covered in her own blood. Her clothing was in tatters, and the large white cloaking was wrapped around her arm. Omega scanned her quickly, revealing that she was missing about half of her right arm, and would most likely die of blood loss in a few hours.
The human male was dark-skinned and wore an olive colored cloak with black pants. He was rather large and muscular, and also had glowing crystals of different colors stabbed into his body. Preliminary scans show that he was somehow absorbing power from the crystals. The crystals themselves reveal a decent amount of power inside, but nothing that came close to the Chaos Emeralds. The power they radiated didn't even appear to Chaos Energy.
The human/mobian hybrid was a pale looking one, wearing a white sleeveless jacket and pants. His hair was braided into a scorpion's tail, one that looks like his actual tail. He also had wrist blades that looked like scorpion tails. He had a grin on his face
And lastly, there was the white humanoid creature. Unlike the others, Omega turned his body to completely face her. She wore a black dress with red trimmings and a high collar, with a vertical slit that exposed some of her bust. Scans showed that she had a lot more energy than the others. And the last, most important thing Omega noticed about her.
"Your hair is stupid," Omega bluntly said. This got a chuckle out of the dying woman, and a snarl from the scorpion hybrid. Even the white creature was smiling.
"You dare mock our goddess?!" The scorpion hissed, pointing his gauntlet at the E-Series.
"Calm down, Tyrian," The large man said. "We still have a job to do." He turns his head towards the woman in the white cloak, whose small smile turns into a fearful look. The scorpion hybrid scoffs and turns his back to Omega.
"Your next, robot!" The scorpion hybrid scowls, and lunges towards the woman.
He swings his blades downward, aiming for her neck. Instead of the sounds of ripped flesh, he's greeted with the clanging sounds of metal.
"What the hell?!" He cries in confusion, upon seeing the E-Series now standing in front of the bleeding woman, claws interlocked with the blades. Omega quickly closes his fist, snapping the blades and breaking the scorpion hybrid's right hand in the process.
"Annihilate!" Omega exclaims, and punches the scorpion away, sending him crashing into the walls.
The large man's facial features morph into one of surprise, and quickly turns into a frown. With a roar, he charges toward Omega, fire and electricity being emitted from his hands. The E-Series robot quickly retracts his hands, replacing them with his rotary cannons and starts firing wildly. The man makes no effort to dodge, and the explosive rounds strike his chest, ruining his coat. Omega notices that the man is surrounded by what looks like some sort of energy shield, but only appears when the rounds explode on contact.
Fire and lightning are thrown towards Omega, who easily tanks the blows. The machine activates his thruster, and meets the large man (who is probably twice his size) head on. The man grunts, sending waves of electricity into the robot. Omega doesn't feel a thing however, and pushes back again. The man then ignites his entire body, but it is interrupted when Omega slams his head into his nose. This causes the man's grip to loosen, allowing the E-Series to piledrive the man into the ground.
Omega then grabs him by the face and repeatedly slam him into the ground. He then throws him, turns his hand into a cannon, blasting him skyhigh.
A roar is heard from the otherside of the roam, and the scorpion hybrid returns, hands and eyes now glowing purple. Omega is stationary, and lets the scorpion get multiple free attacks on him. Sparks are sent flying, and the scorpions blades are filed down to at least half their original size. Meanwhile, the only damage done to Omega are scratches to his paint job.
Omega swings his claws, creating large gashes in his skin and sending blood flying. Before the man could retreat, the machine grabs his throat and starts spinning his torso around. Omega discharges electricity, causing the scorpion hybrid to cry out in pain. The robot pins him to the ground with one hand, while the other grips his tail. With a loud crunch, Omega twists half of the tail off.
Omega's torso is hit by a large fireball that sends him back a few feet. The large man has returned, his body covered in small pieces of rubble. As he lobs another set of fireballs and lightning bolts, Omega lifts the scorpion and uses him as a shield. Surprisingly, he is still conscious.
Omega tosses the scorpion away as the human slams his fist his head. Omega is surprised by the sound of metal creaking. There's probably a dent there. The onslaught of punches continues, and the E-series decides to answer in kind with his own attacks. They continuously slug each in the chest and head, with large purple bruises appearing on the human, and misshapen and dented metal on the robot.
Omega notices that the man had yet to falter, despite the fact that the sound of multiple broken bones could be heard. An x-ray does indeed reveal broken bones and torn muscles, but that somehow did not stop him from continuously assaulting the E-series. Omega deduces that he might have some sort of ability that stops pain. However, it does not negate damage. That should also mean that poison is a viable win condition.
Omega activates his thrusters and slams into the man, forcing them both backwards. Then, he digs the scorpion's stinger into the open wounds on the man's chest. After a hard squeeze, the stinger bursts, releasing the neurotoxins into the blood streams.
"What the fu–" The large man doesn't finish as Omega kicks him in the crotch, and then tries to grab his neck, only for the right arm to stop half way. Really? He needs to get a better mechanic…
Instead of picking him up and throwing the large man away, Omega takes a few steps backwards, and maximizes the power in his thrusters, throwing his entire body weight and sending the man crashing into the walls.
The white creature has yet to make a move, Omega notices. The only thing she did the entire battle was watch as her two lackeys (at least, he assumed they were her minions) were utterly humiliated by Ome– Oh damn, did he chip a claw?
The white creature stood from her seat, and approached the E-Series. Omega turned back to the white-cloaked woman, who looked like she was hyperventilating. She locked eyes with him, a pleading look in her eyes. Omega turned his head to look at the creature, a look of amusement and curiosity in her eyes.
Before the creature could talk, Omega opened a hatch on his shoulder, and quickly fired two projectiles that had struck the creature's left eye and an elbow. Once it registered the attack, the projectiles exploded, leaving only the lower body of the creature instact.
"Unknown white creature: Destroyed!" Omega said, giving the woman a thumbs up. The woman cringed, trying to get up while clutching her arm.
"Actually…" She said hoarsely, jerking her towards the pair of legs. Omega turned behind him, and saw that the flesh of the creature was regenerating, as well as the clothes.
"How many times have you destroyed the unknown creature?"
"About… seventeen times, maybe? Doesn't matter, she keeps coming back up each time I rip her head off. Not even my eyes work against it." Omega was going to have to ask about the eyes at a later date. With little warning, Omega picks the woman up like a sack of potatoes with his working arm and books it. He's not one to run away, but he's not gonna waste all of his ammo on a woman that can't be killed.
Before he leaves, Omega opens his back, and he fires two missiles at the roof. The entire room begins to cave, and the regenerating body can only watch with a hateful eye as Omega flees with the white-cloaked woman in his arms.
"Place your arms around my head," Omega orders. The woman glares at him. "I only have one arm…"
"Then place your arm–singular–around my head," Omega snaps back, causing her to flinch slightly. Regardless, she does as he says, making sure to grip Omega's head tightly.
"Now what–" She is cut off when Omega increases power to his thrusters, drastically increasing his speed. Nowhere near as fast as Sonic or Shadow, but much faster than the black creatures that had begun to chase them.

The admittedly short robot roughly puts Summer down on the shores of the Land of Darkness, after seeing it absolutely wreak havoc at Salem's castle while also clowning on Tyrian, Hazel, and Salem herself. If Summer still had two hands, she'd probably record the entire thing and send it to Ozpin.
"You have thirty-two broken bones, including five ribs. Also, you have multiple lacerations on your arms and chest, non-lethal doses of neurotoxins in your bloodstream, as well severe third-degree burns." The robot said, causing Summer to blink. She'd been running from Tyrian and Hazel for three days, but was that really how much damage she took?
Summer struggled to get up, and ended falling to her side, hissing at the pain. The robot made no attempt to help her.
"Do you have any way of contacting medical personnel?" The red and black robot asked. Summer quickly nodded her head. "There's a scroll in my cloak."
"How will a piece of paper assist in contacting medical personnel?"
"No, a scroll, the device!" Summer hoarsely exclaimed, before going into a coughing fit. The robot's eyes flicker, almost like it was blinking, and walks towards her. Unlike the Atlesian Knights, this robot had a certain fluidity to his movements, even a bounce that made him look alive.
It rummages through Summer's cloak, and opens the scroll.
"How do I use this device?" It asks, drawing a deadpanned look from Summer.
"What do you mean?"
"I have no reason to use a device such as this. I have my own built-in communication device."
"Give me the damn thing," Summer grumbles, reaching out and almost instantly regretting it.
"You are physically incapable of using the device," The robot says.
"Just… just tap contacts and call Ozpin, and turn on the face camera," Summer tells it, hissing under her breath.
It does as she says, clumsily tapping the screen and trying to break it with its large claws.
They wait for a few moments in silence. Summer notices the strange character on the robot's left shoulder. Before she could ask what it stood for a voice came from her scroll.
"Summer?! Oh gods, Summer!? Who the hell are you?!"
"I am E-123 Omega! The ultimate E-Series robot, created by Dr. Eggman!"
"What the hell did you do to my wife?! Answer me!"
"Who is your wife?"
"Can you turn the phone towards me?" Summer said in a raspy voice. She heard the voice on the other side hitch.
"S-Summer…?"
With an unreadable look, Omega awkwardly turned the phone into his working hand, so that it faced Summer. Her eyes shimmered, letting out tears that she had been holding in for days.
"Hey, Tai…" Summer said with a cheeky smile on her face.
"Oh gods… Summer… You're okay, you're okay, you're okay…" Taiyang Xiao Long repeated multiple times like a mantra.
"She is suffering from multiple injuries as well as severe blood loss. In addition, she has also lost her left arm–"
"WHAT!?"
"–and will most likely die if she does not receive medical attention soon. If you have any sort of medical vehicle, or a form of fast travel, it is imperative that you send help immediately if you want her to survive," Omega bluntly stated.
"Y-yeah, of course. I'll get Oz–" A crack is heard, and Taiyang's face disappears from her scroll, replaced by a black screen.
"...What happened? Omega, what happened?"
"A disruption signal originating from 225 miles east has disrupted the call. I am sending jamming waves as we speak in an attempt to prevent them from locating us. Also, my claws were designed for tearing and dismemberment, not to handle small, fragile communication devices." Summer was surprised by just how much sass was in the robot's voice.
"You broke my scroll?"
"Yes," It said, crushing said device in his hands.
"...Aren't you going to apologize?"
"You are the one who told me to hold the device."
"Now you're just deflecting the blame…" Summer groaned. She was not going to get into an argument about who broke the damn scroll. She knew she was getting help, and she would be able to see her babies again.
Surprisingly, the robot stays with her, pacing around the beach until something its leg locks up, making him faceplant into the ground. Summer frowns when she hears a shattering sound; one of Omega's eyes had broken as he fell.
"You're hurt…" She states as Omega struggles to pick itself back up.
"Impossible. I am unable to detect pain." Omega says, punching its leg to make it work.
"Whatever, that still doesn't change the fact that you need repairs."
"I'm perfectly capable of conducting repairs on myself."
"Really? For god's sake, you only have one working arm!"
"I have done repairs on myself before."
"And how well did that pan out?" Summer asked. Based on Omega's silence, it probably didn't go too well. Hell, the silence reminded her of a child trying its hardest not to look guilty after sneaking too many cookies from the jar.
"Look, when I help, I promise I'll get somebody to help repair you."
"Will they also resupply my ammo and upgrade my explosives?" Omega asked.
"I'll. try to see what I can do."
"Very well. I shall accompany you to the medical facility, so that my weaponry can be twice as explosive!" It exclaimed, trying to raise its broken hand.
Despite herself, Summer laughed.
"Hey, do you mind if I ask you a question?" Omega looks at her quizzically. "Why did you decide to help me back there? If you didn't, you might've been able to get away. You might not have gotten damaged if you just, I dunno, ran away." Omega is silent for a moment, digging clenching and unclenching its fist multiple times.
"Approximately 86% of women have given birth to at least one child," Omega says. He refuses to elaborate.
"Omega, you're a terrible liar," Summer says with a laugh.
