Although it was the day after their wedding, Yuuri eventually decided that he couldn't spend the whole day in bed. Tempting as that sounded, he was looking forward to going to see the Palace of Versailles with his new husband.
Having made up his mind, Yuuri threw off the blanket covering them decisively. Victor protested, "Muzh moy, what are you doing?"
"It's already past noon. We should get going if we want to see the palace today."
Victor smiled indulgently at his husband. "Whatever you want, zvezda moya. Although I wouldn't have minded spending more time in bed…"
Yuuri turned his back resolutely, trying desperately not to let himself get turned on by those words. Truthfully, he would have also been happy to continue spending the day together locked in their hotel room. He just couldn't stand the idea of coming all the way to Paris on their honeymoon and then doing nothing more than having sex. Rallying his will, he started to walk around the room, aiming to find his glasses first. Luckily, they were quickly located by the door where they had been abandoned upon their arrival.
Once he could see more clearly, Yuuri pulled his travel bag over and knelt down in front of it, rifling through for clothing. As he did, he heard the sound of his phone notification. It was set to vibrate, since he hadn't wanted it to disturb anything the previous day. He pulled out a pair of underwear and put them on, then scanned the room. If he remembered correctly, his phone had been in his back pocket when they had arrived…so all he had to do was find his pants. Ah, there, by the bed. He walked over and scooped them up, fishing his phone out of the back pocket. Allowing the pants to fall again, he unlocked the phone.
His eyes widened in shock as he saw the number of notifications. Most of them came from Twitter, but there were also some sent directly from his friends. He opened his message with Phichit first.
'Hey, Yuuri, what's going on with Victor's post? I just want to make sure, but is everything ok with you?'
Yuuri furrowed his brow. Post? What could Victor post that would make Phichit ask that? He had assumed that his new husband would have posted something sentimental about their wedding, but it seemed that was not the case. He looked up at Victor suspiciously.
The Russian man seemed to feel the gaze on him, as he met it immediately. The beginnings of a smile died as he saw the look on Yuuri's face. "Rodnoy, what's wrong?"
"I'm not sure yet. Phichit says you posted something online about us?"
"Oh. That. Of course I did. I'm just excited about us being married! Why wouldn't I post about it?"
"That's what I thought, but…Phichit seems to be concerned about it." Looking away, Yuuri flicked open his Twitter app, knowing his husband's penchant for that site in particular.
"Wha…concerned? That's ridiculous, I only ever post about how much I love you!" Victor huffed.
Yuuri ignored him as he navigated to Victor's account. He read the most recent tweet. Read it again. Sighed deeply as he pinched the bridge of his nose.
"Yuuri, what's wrong? Don't you think that's a nice tweet?"
Unsure whether to laugh or be mad, Yuuri read the tweet aloud without looking at his partner. "'As of today, Yuuri and I are no longer engaged!' Vitya, what a terrible way to tell people we're married!"
Victor sputtered, "Why? It's true, isn't it?"
Sighing as he finally looked back up, Yuuri asked, "Do you know how to do anything without being dramatic?"
A smile spread across the perfect lips that Yuuri loved so much. "Do you really need to ask that question at this point?"
The laugh Yuuri had been trying to repress was finally forced out. "No, I guess not. But Vitya, can you please make another post? Something about our wedding?"
Victor beamed. "Of course, luchik! I'm happy to make as many posts about it as you want! Should I use one of our wedding pictures the photographers sent as a preview? Oooh, how about the sun and moon one?"
"No! Vitya!" As a laughing Yuuri tried to keep his new husband reigned in, he thought to himself that this was all his fault. He had known before they got married just how crazy this man was. But still, it was more than worth it.
