A/N: Another old fic I found! I've tried to edit this one, but if I do too much, it might take away from what I've already written. So please ignore any cheesy happenings in here!
This is extremely AU… basically a rewriting of the entire saga…
PROLOGUE
On the beautiful planet of Naboo, a fine young woman was twisting her face in a look of immense pain. The cause of this pain was something beautiful. This woman, Jobal Naberrie, was giving birth to her second daughter. With one final scream, a beautiful girl was born.
Any Force sensitive being in the galaxy would have felt immense joy for some unknown reason. Jobal and her family—despite not being Force sensitive—were also terribly happy.
The joy that could be felt through the Force was the joy of the Force itself. The Force was overjoyed that this babe was in the galaxy, alive, healthy, and strong with the Force. For this child is strong enough to become a Jedi; however, she wasn't gifted with power that would have made her an extraordinary Jedi. This shouldn't have caused the Force to spread its joy. And it wasn't. No, this child was a key part of a much bigger plan. She was to be the soulmate to the Force's own child.
"What is her name, Jobal, dear?" the Force asked, echoed by Jobal's husband, Ruwee.
Jobal, not hearing the Force, answered her husband, "Padmé Amidala." At this, the child opened her eyes, revealing the most beautiful brown globes to ever grace the galaxy, and smiled, a gorgeous, toothless grin.
Five Days Later
All beings in the galaxy felt joy, for some odd reason unknown to all, except one newborn child on Naboo, who smiled and giggled at the knowledge that the Force was making everyone happy because it's child, her soulmate, was being born on some remote world far beyond the outer rim.
Delara
A World In Wildspace
The people of Delara were all happy, like every other being in the galaxy, yet they knew why the Force was happy, even if it wasn't conscious thought. The Prince of their world was being born today. He was the son of suns, they all knew it, for Princess Shmi was unwed, and it was unbroken Delaran tradition that nobody had such relations until their wedding night.
In The Palace of Delara
The Royal Palace was in disarray. Servants were frantically scrambling to get everything prepared for the arrival of the Chosen One.
Delara Palace
Shmi's Bedchambers
Shmi had never known pain such as this. And yet, she knew it should have been worse. She knew the Force was making the pain lessened because she was delivering its child. She gave another cry of pain and began crying tears of joy as she heard another cry join hers, the Chosen One was now in the universe. Shmi fell against her pillows and watched as her sister, Shleah, washed her son. Shleah turned, wrapping the babe in a cloth, and handed Shmi the boy. Her son had his eyes open; they were the bluest eyes she had ever seen; they were absolutely gorgeous, and the beautiful grin that split his face… Oh! He was going to be such a heartbreaker!
The boy, as if sensing her thoughts, giggled, and tried to wiggle out of the cloth. It was then that Shmi realized she was grinning like an idiot, and so was her sister.
"Well, what's his name, sis?" Shleah asked.
"Anakin," Shmi breathed, "Anakin Skywalker."
"A beautiful name for a beautiful boy." The only response to that was Anakin's laughter.
Across the Galaxy
Jedi Temple, Coruscant
The wizened Master Yoda opened his eyes, exiting his meditation, a smile on his old face.
"Born is he," he spoke to himself, "begun it has."
In Hyperspace
Jedi Starfighter
Eighteen-year-old Jedi padawan Obi-Wan Kenobi gasped as he was thrown out of his meditation.
"The Chosen One is born," he said to himself. "I must find him." Exiting hyperspace, he dove into the Force, asking it for guidance and plugged in the coordinates the Force gave him. Jumping back into hyperspace, the padawan resumed his meditation and thought he heard someone say something about the Guardian and the Chosen One.
"And so, the Guardian goes to find the Chosen One." The Force smiled.
Two Days Later
Jedi Temple, Coruscant
Qui-Gon Jinn was completely astonished that his ever-obedient padawan had not arrived back on Coruscant. His first reaction, after astonishment, was worry. Something had happened to Obi-Wan. Then, his brain started working: Obi-Wan was fine, he would know if something was wrong. The next emotion, after relief that Obi-Wan was fine, was back to astonishment. Obi-Wan never disobeyed an order. Why now? Then, Qui-Gon became angry, and released that anger into the Force. He would go to Yoda; something was telling him that the Grandmaster had all the answers.
When he arrived at master Yoda's quarters, he was surprised to see his own master, Dooku, sitting with Yoda. Yoda opened his old eyes and smiled a welcome at Qui-Gon.
"Your padawan, safe he is. Following orders from the Force, is he. A good padawan, Young Kenobi is."
"He received orders from the Force?" Qui-Gon asked.
"Yes, my old padawan, it seems that you are training none other than the Guardian," Dooku answered. Qui-Gon's jaw practically hit the floor.
"Th—The Guardian!" he exclaimed, disbelievingly.
"Yes," both masters answered in tandem.
"Do shut your mouth, padawan. It is unbefitting of a Jedi Knight," Dooku teased.
Qui-Gon's jaw clamped shut. "And to think I almost left him at Agricorps…" Qui-Gon muttered to himself. The other two Jedi merely laughed.
The Next Day
Naboo, Theed City
Doctor Leyla Orphus was examining the results on little Padmé Amidala Naberrie's blood test as she made her way to her patient's room. The babe was eight days old, and it had been time for her first check-up. The blood test results said that she was completely healthy and that she was Force-sensitive. Doctor Orphus walked in to Padmé's room.
"Jobal?" Dr. Orphus asked.
"Yes, Leyla?" Jobal stopped playing with Padmé and looked up at her longtime friend.
"She's completely healthy. And… she's—erm—Force-sensitive," Leyla managed to spit the last part out, devastated to have to encourage her friend to split from her baby. To her surprise, Jobal smiled.
"I knew that, somehow. I believe Padmé was born for something far grander than being a Jedi. She will be a very important Jedi, I know this," Jobal told Leyla, making the doctor smile.
"Are you going to take her to the Temple?"
"Yes as soon as I'm space worthy."
"That won't be for another four days," Leyla stated.
"I know. Hopefully Sola won't get too attached to her younger sister by then," Jobal replied. Leyla laughed, and soon enough, Jobal joined her. Unnoticed by both women, Padmé smiled as she felt her soulmate touch her mind with his for a brief moment.
Same Day
Delara
Obi-Wan Kenobi exited hyperspace after spending three days in it. His eyes widened as he saw that he was in Wildspace, five days hyperspace journey from Coruscant. He shook his head to clear it and entered the atmosphere. His comm suddenly began to crackle as he realized he was being contacted by the planet.
"State who you are and your business here."
"I am Jedi Padawan Obi-Wan Kenobi, and my busine—"
"You have permission to land at the Royal Palace," the comms officer interrupted.
"I have no idea where that is!" Obi-Wan exclaimed, slightly overwhelmed that simply his name and rank got him access to a palace.
"Sending coordinates now."
"Thank you!" he did not receive a response as the comm shut off.
Delara Palace Landing Platform
Obi-Wan set his ship down with a quiet thud. He opened the cockpit and climbed out to meet what he guessed was the King and some family.
"Hello, I am Obi-Wan Kenobi—" he began.
The King interrupted him. "You seek my grandson."
"I am here due to the will of the Force," Obi-Wan replied.
The King smiled. "You do seek my grandson, the Chosen One."
"Oh, yes, I-erm-do believe that is why the Force sent me here," Obi-Wan answered awkwardly.
The King laughed. "Come, Guardian, I will take you to see him." At Obi-Wan's shocked face he added, "He is three days old, he is not ready for space, come."
"Guardian?" Obi-Wan asked, dumbfounded.
"Yes, you have been called to guide the Chosen One. That makes you the Guardian.
At that, Obi-Wan passed out.
Two Hours Later
Obi-Wan woke and found himself in a lavish bedroom. He looked around in amazement before shaking it off and entering meditation so he could make sense of everything he learned from the King. He opened his eyes when the door opened, admitting the King, who was holding a newborn child in his arms.
"My grandson, Guardian," the King introduced.
Obi-Wan took the boy into his arms and was surprised to see the child open his beautiful blue eyes. The boy smiled at him and grabbed Obi-Wan's padawan braid. Obi-Wan smiled back at the boy and gently pried his braid from the boy, who only giggled in response. Unbeknownst to Obi-Wan, a bond had formed between himself and the boy as soon as he touched the baby.
"His name is Anakin Skywalker, Guardian," the King told Obi-Wan before he left, leaving Obi-Wan and Anakin alone.
Two Days Later
A feast was held in honor of Anakin and Obi-Wan, for they were leaving later that night, Anakin was always in Obi-Wan's arms, or he cried up a storm if he wasn't.
Later That Night
A sleeping Anakin was kissed goodbye one last time by his mother before Obi-Wan got into his starfighter and took off.
Two Days Later
Naboo, Lake Country, Varykino
"But Mommy, why you takin' Padmé away?" A young Sola Naberrie asked her mother, Jobal.
"Because deary, your sister is special, she's going to grow up and be a very powerful Jedi Knight," Jobal answered.
"Okay, Mommy. I'm gonna miss her though…"
"I know you will, Sola," Jobal hummed, sadly. "Say goodbye to Padmé, dear."
Six-year-old Sola took Padmé into her arms and carried her into her bedroom telling her parents she needed to say goodbye in private. Clutching her precious sister to her chest, Sola looks Padmé in the eyes and vowed to her, "I am going to go into politics so that I can help you whenever you should need it, okay baby sis? I'm gonna be on Coruscant for you."
Padmé smiled at Sola and Sola knew that Padmé was telling her that she believed her and knew she could count on Sola. Sola returned Padmé to their mother and Jobal boarded her ship and left for Coruscant.
Three Days Later
Jedi Temple, Coruscant
Obi-Wan Kenobi and Jobal Naberrie landed their ships at the same time on the Jedi Temple landing platforms. Master Yoda was waiting for them both. Both babes were handed to him. Padmé and Anakin both looked at each other and smiled when their eyes met.
Obi-Wan and Yoda both gasped softly as they felt the two babes bond themselves together, their minds meshed together to form one. Jobal, not realizing what was happening, simply thought the sight was adorable before she turned and left, before she started to cry at the loss of her daughter.
"Anakin."
"Padmé."
Both Obi-Wan and Yoda were once again taken aback when the two newborns voiced the other's name in the Force. Both realized these two were beyond special and needed to be kept together. It then struck Obi-Wan that he, as the Guardian, would be training two padawans at the same time.
'Oh dear.' was his only thought.
A/N: Alright! Prologue is out of the way! I hope you like it so far. Next chapter is a bit of a time jump… just remember that this is an AU and is very different. To be honest, I'm not too huge of a fan of this one, but I still think it's good enough to share. I think this is the first story that I actually planned in detail before starting to write. Haha. Anyway, thank you!
