After Itachi left, I continued working on Fire Chakra Transformation Fuin and Leaf Sticking Exercise. It was dawn when I stopped and looked at the improvements.

You gained 5 CHA.

You gained 3 Dexterity.

Fuinjutsu: Fire Chakra Transformation Fuinis Leveled by 14.

Leaf Sticking Exercise is Leveled by 9.

"Increases to the level of Leaf Sticking Exercise really slowed down a lot. I could gain a level in a second before, now I keep the leaf sticking for a whole day and it still improves by 9 levels. I am afraid I am going to have to level up to speed things up." I sighed and opened Status.

"Dexterity is finally in two digits. I only have 25 levels to master Leaf Sticking Exercise. I thought the Skills level would increase more since I can keep a single leaf indefinitely but it seems like if I want to improve the Skill fast enough, I will need to level up after hitting 40 CHA and keep 6 leaves sticking instead."

I stood up and dusted my shorts then made my way to the dining hall. There were already some kids there sitting at a table and talking about things. When one of them saw me, others turn to me too and looked. I raised a brow at them. The one who first saw me walked to me and said, "Want to play a game? We will stop when it's breakfast time.

I hummed, "What game are you going to play?" Then I used observe on the kid.

Daisuke

o Rep: 35

o HP: 60

o CP: 750

Daisuke came closer and whispered, "There are rats in the cellar. Savage beasts. We are going to fight with 'em. Wanna come with us?"

I raised a brow at him. "You know it's dangerous right? I think we should let ninja deal with it instead. I looked at Daisuke but his chin was set. I sighed 'They are going to go no matter what I do short of snitching them to Hana. I am no snitch so I should go with and protect them when necessary.' I shrugged. "Okay but if there are too many of them I will scream." I said and watched as Daisuke's rep fall by 5. 'I guess it was the wrong thing to say.' I sighed. "I am just kidding." Rep came back. "I will play with you but we need weapons. If we get bitten we might get sick."

Daisuke nodded. "We saw Hana move wood to the cellar. We just need to get them."

"Okay. Let's go and be done with it before breakfast is ready." I said while looking at the other kids. There were four of them except Daisuke. When they heard me, they too stood up and we started walking towards the cellar.

While walking, I expected Rena to come and kick our asses but she never came. So in a few minutes, we were in front of the door to the cellar. Before I could say others I will lead them one of the kids came forward, while elbowing my stomach ineffectively and said, "I will lead us. I am the strongest here." I snorted and looked at the other kids' faces but it seemed like they thought the same. Except for Daisuke that is. The kid looked at me crossly and said "What is it, dancer? You have a problem?"

'To think I wanted to protect this kid.' I sighed and used Observe on him.

Kota

o Rep: -50

o HP: 90

o CP: 1050

'Damn. This kid hates my guts.' I chuckled to myself and turned to Kota. "No. You can take the lead but I expect you to engage first if you do. And don't expect me to save your ass."

The kids started whispering amongst themselves and Kota was grinding his teeth so hard I could hear the sound they make. "I will," Kota said between his teeth. Then pushed me a little, "Stay back. Babies have no place on the battlefield."

I tilted my head. "What battlefield?" Kota didn't answer and went inside. I shrugged. "Alright, let's go."

There were lamps inside but it was still pretty dark. We found wooden blocks close to the door and all of us held one of them each. We came to the center and started waiting for our fearless leader to give a command. He was on the other hand, just looking around and waiting. It seemed to be the right thing to do since rats are started making noise shortly after.

Kota started walking towards the voice and a rat jumped on his face. He caught unprepared and fell with the rat on his face. The other kids freeze on the spot but I acted fast and caught the side of the rat with mywood.Rat flew outside of my vision squawking.

Kota stood up with no thanks and brandished his makeshift weapon. Then another rat showed itself. This one was bigger but still was a normal rat. Kota ran towards it and swung his weapon at it. Rat squawked and dodged back and bared its teeth. Kota tried again and this time, managed to hit the rat's head. Rat squawked and fell limp. Kota jumped excitedly. He then turned to me and gave me a winning grin. I sighed. "Careful, it's behind you." He jumped and swiped the rat away. Then something I didn't expect happened.

Rat after rat started showing themselves, baring their teeth to us. "Kids, I think we should get out of here." I whispered so not to aggravate rats anymore."

Kota chuckled. "What is it baby, afraid of a few rats?" He said screaming and that did it. All at once, rats started attacking us. Kids held the line and I helped them whenever they were about to be overwhelmed. In just a few long minutes, most of the kids were spent. They seemed to be ready to fall in any second.

I was thinking of screaming when the door opened and Hana got inside. She looked at us and the rats then stomped a few times and yelled. "Kids! Out!" The kids got out quickly which made Hana and me the only ones left. Hana looked at me angrily. "Didn't I said out?"

"I thought you might need help," I said nodding. Hana shook her head and pointed to the place where rats were just about a second ago. I frowned. "Did they ran away from you?"

Hana shook her head. "They ran away from us." She then turned to me. "I am guessing you were the one to keep the kids safe." I nodded hopeful that I won't get yelled at but that was not the case. "Why the hell are you here?!"

I sighed. "Hana… -san. The kids were going to come here either way. I just wanted to make sure they are safe."

Hana put her hands on her waist. "Did you tell them how stupid doing this is?"

"I tried something of the kind but they didn't seem like they would listen and I just thought we would be okay you know? Never thought they would be this numerous."

"Alright. You go eat your breakfast, I will deal with the rat corpses." Hana said while shaking her head. I nodded and after dropping the wood on the pile, got out. As soon as I was out, I took a look at the screens.

You Gained Skill: Blunt Weapon Mastery

Killed Rat. 1 Experience * 23

You gained 1 Speed.

A NOTE FROM COLLATOR

After breakfast, Sara and I made our way to the academy. When we arrived, there were only a few people. I split with Sara to get to my desk, sat down, and started working on creating the new explosion seal using part duplicates. For this one, I was going to use duplicates for Chakra Storage Fuin and Chakra Containment Fuin. I started working on it and immediately understood how hard it is to create new fuins. 'I have a bad feeling about this one.' I sighed and focused on my work.

I was done in a few minutes and was holding a new fuin I created. I quickly looked at the Skill description.

Bloated Explosion Fuin Level 1/20

o Bloated Explosion Fuin is fuin used to create explosive fireballs.

o Special Explosion Fuin explosion radius 10 meters.

o Increases the effectiveness of all fuin parts by 1%.

o Decreases the time it takes to write this fuin by 1%

'Bloated Explosion Fuin and it has a lower max level. It seems this one is a dud.' I put the seal on my pocket. Just as I was about to start grinding Chakra Storage Fuin with the hopes that I could make them catch up to Fire Chakra Transformation Fuin and increase the overall power of my Special Explosion Fuin, I felt a hand on my shoulder. I looked up to see Sasuke looking at me with a smile. "Don't start again. I am tired of waiting for you here."

I looked around. Iruka-sensei wasn't in the class yet. I turned back to Sasuke and asked, "Did something happen, Sasuke-kun?"

Sasuke momentarily looked perplexed the way I addressed him but composed himself quickly. "My brother wants you to teach me how to make Special Explosion Fuin."

I raised a brow. "Are you sure you want to do this? It will take away lots of your time and the fuin you make probably won't be as effective as the ones I make." I frowned. "Why did Itachi-san decided for you to do this anyway? He told me he wanted to learn it himself."

Sasuke nodded. "He was going to be the one but my father wanted me to learn it instead. He said Itachi nii-san didn't have the time."

"Well if you decided to do it, I don't mind. Now I will guide you once… Wait a minute." I looked around to find Naruto talking to some kid animatedly. "Naruto!" I yelled. He turned to me and after I gestured for him to come, he walked to us.

Naruto looked at us smiling. "Arata, do you want to hear how I pranked a genin?"

I raised a brow. 'So he started already.' I sighed and pinched my nose. After a while, I smiled, "Naruto. Did you see the explosion yesterday?"

Naruto nodded excitedly. "It was like BOOM fssh BOOM! It was awesome! What happened? Will you give me one of them?" I shook my head. "Then what?"

I pointed at Sasuke, "I will teach Sasuke how I make them. Do you want to learn too?"

Before Naruto could answer, Sasuke butted in, "I don't think it's logical to teach Naruto how to make explosives. He doesn't seem like the responsible kind."

I nodded. "Yes, but I won't teach him right now anyway. I will first teach you calligraphy." Sasuke raised his nose slightly. 'Uh oh.' I used Mentoring and saw Sasuke's current level in Calligraphy.

Sasuke Uchiha

Calligraphy level 4, training levels left for today: 1.

Sasuke smirked and said, "I am already decent with Calligraphy. There is no need to work on it."

"Then I am decent too!"

Naruto Uzumaki

Calligraphy level 2, training levels left for today: 2.

I nodded and took off two papers and two brushes. "Here. Write your names. I want to see how decent you two before deciding on what to do."

Naruto nodded easily and took the brush but Sasuke was a bit stressed by the fact that his calligraphy might not be as good as he thought.

"Done!" I took a look at Naruto's writing and saw lots of mistakes. I sighed and wrote what he did wrong. It took some time but when I finished, I caught Sasuke looking at me writing rather than writing himself.

I sighed and gave the paper to Naruto. "Try to correct the mistakes I wrote on the paper." He nodded and took off with the paper. I turned to Sasuke. "Come on, write your name, so I can see your level." He nodded and wrote his name, the best he can, I could tell. After he finished, I inspected his writing and saw a few mistakes but not even close to the number of mistakes Naruto had in his writing.

I wrote his mistakes too and he took the paper and looked at it. "There aren't as many mistakes as Naruto's. Does that mean I am close to learning fuinjutsu?"

I shook my head. "You are closer than Naruto but you still have a long way to go. But don't worry. While you work on your calligraphy, I will work on improving the fuin. So when you are done, I will teach you the improved version."

Sasuke nodded and went away with his paper in hand.

That left me and myself alone. I was about to start my fuin training when I saw Sara coming. She was walking towards me with two girls in tow. One of them Sakura, the other Ino. I leaned back and smiled at them. "Sara, did something happen?" Sara stopped in front of my desk and smiled cutely. So I pinched her cheek much to her dismay. After that, I turned to her secretly smiling friends. "Ino, Sakura. What is it?"

Ino came forward smiling but eyes on my hands. She then said, "Sara said you killed a lot of rats today. Is that true?"

I chuckled and nodded, "I wasn't alone though. There were others with me. And things were going bad. Luckily Hana-san -the orphanage matron- came and saved us. Why did you ask?"

Ino just shrugged and they went as they came; silently.

Chapter

After the academic classes, we assembled in the backyard. There, Mizuki was waiting for us. He stood in front of the group and started talking, "Today we will do something different." 'What are we going to do? Cardio?' At the same time, I was thinking a cacophony of voices fell on us like a blanket and drowned Mizuki's voice. He tried to make himself heard but he failed spectacularly.

Luckily for Mizuki, Iruka came and used big head Jutsu and yelled the voice into submission. Then Iruka walked beside Mizuki and said, "Today we are going to do a tournament. And the winner will get to skip Taijutsu Classes for the rest of the year." He finished looking at me. I just shook my head. He frowned and continued, "Winner will automatically get full marks on taijutsu at the end of the year. So if you don't want to do the same thing for a whole year, do your best."

Quest Alert!

Win the tournament.

Iruka announced that there will be a tournament. Win the tournament and gain the privilege to skip the taijutsu class.

Success

o 150 Experience.

o 10 Rep with Class 101.

o 1 Stat Point.

Failure

o 15 Experience

'Free stat point is good but not good enough for me to forgo gaining 50 more max CP. I am pretty sure I can do better.' While kids were talking amongst themselves, I made my way to Iruka. "Iruka-sensei." He turned to me and raised an eyebrow, "I don't want to fight in this tournament."

Iruka sighed, "Why? I thought you would want to be exempt from the class since you keep forfeiting matches."

I shook my head, "I don't hate the lesson sensei, it's just that I don't see the point." Iruka nodded thoughtfully. I continued, "I have another idea."

Iruka frowned. "What it is?"

"I think it would be great if you thought me the rest of the katas today," I said smiling.

"You don't need to learn them yet. You are good enough already." Iruka said, looking at Mizuki writing names on papers. He then turned back to me. "Why are you so intent on mastering Academy Style early?"

I shrugged, "You know I have a knack for precision and I don't forget katas once I do them. So, why not do it slowly when you can do it fast." I got closer and whispered conspiratorially, "I can even help you out by teaching other kids to reach the same level as me."

Iruka sighed, "You know I don't need your help and I like my job. So you teaching other kids more bad than good." He said while shaking his head.

I nodded, "Maybe, but you can't deny the effectiveness of my teaching. If you help me master the katas, I guarantee that the kids will master the Academy Style Taijutsu before this month ends. Except for Kiba, Hinata, and Sasuke that is. They don't want my help."

Iruka shook his head, "Mastering the katas is different than mastering taijutsu. I agree you are good at teaching forms but as much as I know, you don't teach much else."

I chuckled. "You are wrong Iruka-sensei. I teach them all kinds of things. You just never stayed enough to see me doing it." I looked around. Some of the kids were listening to our talk intently. I turned back to Iruka and continued, "If you want proof then we can use this tournament so you can see yourself if my teaching method is good or not."

"Fine. What do you have in mind?" Iruka said while rubbing his temples.

"We can pick a champion each and whose champion reaches higher, that one wins." I noticed Mizuki walking towards me but didn't say anything.

Mizuki reached us and said, "How about we pick Sasuke and the kid picks Naruto. I heard Arata teaching him from the beginning." He looked at Naruto and scowled. He then noticed what he did and added, "I heard he was being a nuisance lately. When he loses, I am pretty sure he will learn his place."

I frowned and looked at Iruka, who was looking at Mizuki with a frown of his own. Iruka cleared his throat and said, "Naruto is a diligent kid. His place isn't far from where he stands." Mizuki just raised his hand, gesturing he didn't mean anything. Iruka then turned to me. "I agree. If you win, I will help you master katas but if I win, you will stop forfeiting matches."

I nodded, "Fine but it's effective tomorrow. I don't intend to fight in the tournament." I looked at Naruto and Sara then said, "Ah and my champion will be Naruto like Mizuki-san said."

Iruka nodded back, "Then I pick Sasuke."

Quest Alert!

Make Sure Naruto Wins the Tournament

You and Iruka made a bet on who would reach higher in the tournament. Naruto or Sasuke. Make sure to win the bet and learn the rest of the katas for Academy Style Taijutsu.

Success

o 5 Rep with Class 101.

o 1 Stat Point.

o 2 Level for Mentoring Skill.

o -5 Rep with Mizuki.

I smiled and started waiting for pairing. After counting everyone, Iruka told the kids to take a piece of paper from a box. I skipped every pairing except Naruto and Sasuke. Sasuke got paired with a short girl named Hara and Naruto got paired with a boy named Himaru.

I walked beside Hara and said, "Hara, how are you?"

Hara sighed, "Of course I am bad. I picked Sasuke after all."

"Don't be too pessimistic. You know your taijutsu. If you work hard enough, I think you can take him down. Just work on his legs and keep the range short, so he can't use his superior speed too much."

Hara nodded, fire in her eyes, "If you say I can, then I can. I know it." She said then she left to get in the taijutsu ring.

"What?" I was left standing there like an idiot. "Why did she said that now?" I sighed and shook my head. Then started watching.

I followed Hara to the edge of the ring. There Sasuke and she stood facing each other. As soon as Iruka gave the start, Hara dashed towards Sasuke. Sasuke on the other hand seemed to be surprised by the ferociousness of her.

Sasuke's surprise lived short though. Hara threw a fist at Sasuke who caught it easily and threw her to the edge of the ring by using it, increasing the distance between them. Hara stood fast and ran at him again but this time, she fainted another fist and struck Sasuke just above the knee. Sasuke groaned but still managed to catch the next kick with his shin.

Then Sasuke went on offense. He threw fist after fist. Hara managed to defend herself skillfully but it was obvious her body was giving up more and more after every single block. Sasuke on the other hand didn't even seem winded.

After a few dozen blocks, Hara's body gave up on her and she took a powerful fist on her face. There was a subtle cracking voice and Hara flew out of the ring.

"Win by ring-out Sasuke Uchiha." Iruka stated.

I made my way to the crying and a little bloody Hara. When she saw me, she took a deep breath and wiped her nose with her hand. I, on the other hand, took out a handkerchief from the storage seal Itachi gave to me and passed it to Hara. She took it gingerly. Having stopped crying, she wiped her eyes first, then her nose, then her hands. She then looked down and said, "I am sorry."

I tilted my head. "Why are you sorry?"

Hara balled the now bloody handkerchief and answered, "You believed in me but I still lost."

I sighed. "You don't need to be sorry. You did well. You just need to work on strengthening your body more."

Hara looked at me hopefully, "Really?" I nodded. Then she excitedly said, "I will work on my body and next time, I will beat Sasuke teme!"

"Naruto?" Hara looked around, probably to find Naruto around then looked at me oddly. I sighed. "Sorry, you talked like Naruto there. And before you ask, it's not a bad thing." Hara nodded again, seeming to fare much better than before I talked to her. I reached her with my hand and helped her stand. "Now, let's go and clear your nose."

Hara took a deep breath. I looked at her disbelieving face. "Will you get in the girls toilet?"

I chuckled. "You are right. Let's find someone else." I looked around and found Sara, Ino, Sakura trio. After depositing Hara to them, I returned to the taijutsu ring. Sasuke was sitting at the side and scowling. "Hey, Sasuke."

He looked at me angrily. "What did you say to Hara?"

I tilted my head, "When? Before or after the fight?"

Sasuke sighed, "After. You know before she screamed 'I will beat Sasuke.'" He then turned to me and started waiting for an answer.

"I told her she has a chance against you if she works on her body." I said while smiling then added, "Don't worry. I didn't provoke her against you. I would never do that." Sasuke nodded and moved his legs. He winced noticeably. I pointed at his knee and asked, "Can you continue fighting?"

Sasuke looked at me like I said the stupidest thing I could. "Of course I can. An Uchiha would never give up because of a wound like this." He sighed and continued, "It is your fault by the way." I looked at him innocently, he chuckled. "I heard what you said to her before the fight." I moved to tell him about the bet with Iruka but he interrupted me. "I heard what you talked with Iruka-sensei too. Nearly everybody else did too, even. You weren't exactly trying to be subtle. Or if you did…" He chuckled again.

I chuckled too and got closer to him, "You know, if you forfeit now, I will give you half of what I gained."

"ARATA-KUN ARE YOU CHEATING ALREADY!" I jumped, much to the amusement of others. Iruka continued, "You need to work on your subtlety some more, Arata-kun." He then turned to the other kids and said, "Next match is between Naruto and Himaru."

I stood up quickly and went to Naruto. "Naruto, pace yourself. Don't rush things and make a mistake. Make sure to…" I stopped talking when I saw Naruto's apologetic face. "What did you do?" Then it dawned on me. "I don't know how many Iruka said he would give you but I will buy you the double."

Naruto looked at me, then Iruka with wide eyes. "How? You are an orphan too. Orphans don't have money for ramen."

I chuckled. "Naruto, I can make explosive fuins. I am basically set to be rich. So, what do you say, deal?" Naruto nodded and quickly moved to the taijutsu ring without giving Iruka any chance to make a second offer. I rubbed my hands looking at Iruka and gave him the best evil laugh I can. He just stood and took it, clearly amused. Then we turned to the ring.

Naruto and Himaru waited for Mizuki's signal and as soon as he did, Naruto rushed at Himaru who was taken by surprise and only understood what happened when he reached outside the ring. I moved to smug Naruto and gave him a hug. "You were great Naruto but you know you can't use the same tactic again right? He nodded, still smug. "So, tell me. How many bowls of ramen Iruka was supposed to treat you?"

He looked down. I turned to see Iruka looking at Naruto seriously. Naruto sighed, "Four bowls."

I nodded. "How about this? Tomorrow I will sell some fuin and we will go eat ramen." Naruto nodded excitedly. "But Naruto. You shouldn't do things like this. You know why?" He nodded. "Well, then I won't say it again. Hey look, it's Sara versus Ino. Who do you think will win?"

Naruto didn't answer me. Instead, he yelled, "Sara, kick her ass!"

His answer was three angry, """Baka!"""

Chapter

Sara and Ino faced each other, waiting for Mizuki's signal. As soon as Mizuki gave the signal, Sara rushed forward, not even close to Naruto's speed but still fast. Ino took a defensive stance and started waiting. When she noticed Ino's stance, Sara took an offensive one. Then they started exchanging blows.

Sara had better technique while Ino had a better body. But neither of their advantages seemed to be enough to win. At the five-minute mark, Sara and Ino were still equally matched. Then I noticed Ino subtly changing her stance to a stance that meant to increase the ability to counterattack. That made all the difference. Sara threw a punch some hundredth time, but this time, instead of blocking, Ino parried and countered like lightning with a kick. The kick caught Sara on her belly and destroyed her stance. Ino capitalized on her advantage and after a few exchanges, Ino was left victorious.

I made my way to Sara and took her out of the ring. She came to herself in a few seconds and sat down, "I lost." She said.

She seemed down, so I said, "Your match was great. You fought well, don't worry."

Sara sighed. "I know I did well, dummy. I am just sad because I lost. And I trained with you more too."

I nodded. "Ino used a great tactic there. It's not easy to shift your stance mid-fight, even hiding the shift from your opponent… That was some genius at work."

"Thanks." Ino beamed. "I got the idea from Sasuke-kun."

I tilted my head. "What do you mean? When?"

"He did it in his fight with Hara. He kept changing his stance while attacking. That's why Hara couldn't attack back." Ino said smirking. Clearly feeling extra smart since she noticed it while I didn't.

"Well, congratulations on your win. Though since you saw it from Sasuke, your performance lowered from genius to just… meh." I said while smiling.

Ino chuckled and punched my shoulder. Then I felt someone hugging me. I turned to look at the offender and saw it was Sara. She looked at Ino from behind me and said, "Mine."

I sighed, "Sara. Don't do things like that, or I will just keep pinching your cheeks." Sara ehhed and separated from me. Then I turned to Ino and raised my arms invitingly. "Come on Ino-chan, won't you hug me?" Sara pouted while Ino grinned and hugged me. I stopped the hug after a while and asked, "Well then. What is the next match?"

"It's Sakura and Hinata." Sasuke supplied from the side.

"Well, rip Hinata. She is too… Wait a minute." I made my way to Naruto who was boasting to some kid and said, "Naruto, do you know Hinata?"

"The silent girl?" He asked frowning.

I nodded. "Can you encourage her, she seems to need it."

"Why don't you do it?" He said, "You are better at it." He added softly but I still heard. Before I could interject he said, "Since you asked it, I will try." I nodded and let him go.

I returned to others and sat down. Sasuke raised an eyebrow at me. "I told Naruto to encourage Hinata. I thought he could do a better job with her."

"It's because she has a crush on him right?"

I looked at smirking Ino, surprised. "She has?"

Ino's smirk faltered. "If you didn't know, why did you toldhimto do it?" I just shrugged. Ino sighed, "Boys."

"It's easy to see she has a crush on him. Why? Because she always watches him." I turned to Shino he was with Shikamaru, Choji, and Kiba.

I looked at them smiling. "Heya, guys. What's up?"

Shikamaru sat on the ground beside Sasuke and Choji beside him. Kiba stayed standing and said "After this match, I will fight against Choji. You may think your lessons are great but they are nothing to me, I will show you." With that, he left and moved to other side of the ring.

I sighed. "Anyone that thinks he won't take it well if he loses, raise your hands." I raised both of my hands but nobody else did. I sighed. 'Now kids think I am too kiddy.'

"I don't think he will. And from what I saw, he will lose." We all turned to Shikamaru. He continued, "He is fast and strong but fights like a brawler so he is at a big disadvantage since Academy Taijutsu Style is great for fighting against brawlers."

I nodded, "I hope he comes around to learn from me or even Iruka-sensei after this fight instead of stubbornly focusing on fighting like a brawler."

Others too conveyed their agreement. Then, "Hinata and Sakura are up." Sasuke said from the side. So we all turned to the ring to watch.

Inside the ring, Sakura took a defensive stance while Hinata took a juuken stance. "Hinata seems resolute. Whatever Naruto said looks like worked very well."

Ino observed then someone yelled, "Come on Hinata, you can do it!" Hinata seemed resolute before but after Naruto said that, she looked ready to pounce at Sakura.

I chuckled, "I knew he would do well."

Before anyone could say anything, Mizuki called the start and Hinata pounced on Sakura, who was too shocked to defend herself. Hinata then palmed Sakura's chest which made her eyes comically enlarged.

Sakura took a step back and covered her chest with her arms, "Hinata!" She yelled to deaf ears. Hinata pounced again and this time, managed to threw Sakura out of the ring.

"Yes! Hinata, you are great!" Naruto yelled from the side.

That made her red. "Naruto-kun." She mouthed so softly that I could only understand reading her lips.

Leaving Naruto and Hinata on their love life I said, "Now I hope Sasuke goes against Hinata. That would be great."

Sasuke snorted. "She can't beat me." He said and added humbly, "No one here can beat me."

I chuckled. "I may not be subtle but I have a large cannon if you know what I mean."

After Hinata and Sakura's one-sided match, Kiba and Choji step up to the ring. While waiting for the signal, Choji took a defensive stance and Kiba lowered his body. As soon as Mizuki gave the start, Kiba dashed forward, high speed. Just before Kiba reached Choji, Choji did something unexpected. He attacked.

Before Kiba could understand what's happening, he pressed his cheek on Choji's fist. Then, he flew out of the ring.

"Well, that was unexpected," I said to no one in particular.

"He attacked while he was on a defensive stance. Isn't it wrong to do that?" Ino asked, looking at me curiously.

I sighed, "You don't have to fight defensively while holding a defensive stance. As Choji did, you can do whatever you want. Kata's are guides after all. You don't have to follow them to win a fight."

"But you said to use the best stances for our plans. If we don't have to follow them, why did you said that?" This was Sara. She was looking at me with as much curiosity as Ino.

"It's best to follow the katas. Why? Because they give you the best chance against opposition and improve your moves according to their focus."

"Thanks, Shino. I couldn't have explained better." Shino nodded to me. Then I looked at the others. They seemed thoughtful. Then Choji reached our group, carrying Kiba. He put Kiba on the ground beside Sara and sat beside Shikamaru. We congratulated Choji for his win and turned to the next match.

It was between Shikamaru and Ami.

"Who do you think is going to win?" Ino asked.

I waited for someone to answer but it seemed like everyone was waiting for me to say something. "I will tell you… after the fight." I grinned. Some groaned -in Ino's case- and some chuckled with me.

Shikamaru and Ami came face to face and after the start, Ami started attacking Shikamaru. She threw a punch at his head. Shikamaru leaned back and retaliated with a kick. Ami dodged that and tried her luck with a kick of her own. Shikamaru dodged that too. Then Ami jumped back and said, "Isn't this troublesome? This will take longer if you don't forfeit."

Shikamaru sighed. "It's troublesome but not fighting for the rest of the year worth it." He then rushed forward with a speed greater than Ami's and threw a punch even faster. Ami caught by surprise and took the punch to her nose.

There was a crack and Ami fell then started crying. "Shikamaru, you bastard. I will beat you if my nose gets ugly."

Shikamaru sighed. "Troublesome." He was about to forfeit the match when we heard Iruka's voice. "Winner is Shikamaru." Iruka made his way to the center of the ring where Ami was sitting and lifted her off. He then took her towards the infirmary.

Shikamaru came beside our group and laid down on the ground. No one said anything and we started waiting for Mizuki to tell us about the next matches.

After a few minutes of waiting, Mizuki called us to the center of the field and told us about the next matches.

Choji Vs Ino

Sasuke Vs Hinata

Naruto Vs Shikamaru

'Three matches. Meaning one of the kids will jump to the final."

While I was thinking Ino and Choji walked to the ring. Choji seemed neutral but Ino seemed stressed. Probably because of Choji's girth. The fact that he managed to make Kiba fly must have contributed to it.

Mizuki gave the signal and the match started. But neither Ino nor Choji made a move to attack. After a few seconds, Choji made the first move. He started inching towards Ino while keeping his defensive stance. 'Why does he keep fighting with that stance? He knows lots of stances either for attack or defense. Does he perhaps…' I turned to Shikamaru who flinched when I turned to him. "Shika, why is Choji limiting himself to a single stance?"

Shikamaru frowned for a second, then said, "I know the reason but I can't say. Try asking him."

"Okay, I will do that." I turned to the match. Still, Choji was trying to get closer to Ino who, for some reason, keeping her distance. "What is she planning?" I asked to no one in particular. Then Sasuke said, "She is trying to tire him out. Since Choji always keeping the same stance, he always works and tires the same muscles. It doesn't matter anyway. Choji doesn't seem to be tiring."

"A-Ano. He does." We all turned to the voice to see a red Hinata looking down at us where she stood. She then continued, "His legs are trembling. If he continues to stay in t-this stance, h-he will…" She finished by muttering. None of us heard what she said but all of us understood what she was trying to say all the same.

While we were listening to Hinata, the match went on and when I turned back to the match, I saw a sweaty Choji sitting on the ground. Ino on the other hand seemed to prevent Choji from resting by using long-reaching and fast attacks. It proved to be a good tactic since, after a few minutes, Choji seemed to find it hard to even sit on the ground without much effort on his part.

"Cho, forfeit."

Both Ino and Choji stopped and looked at Shikamaru. Choji nodded at him and forfeited the match, which meant Ino won.

After celebrating her victory, Ino helped Choji stand and they made their way to us. As soon as Choji laid down on the ground I asked, "Choji, why didn't you used other stances?"

Choji sighed. "My father. He said when I could keep that particular stance for hours, he is going to teach me our clan's taijutsu."

"Hah." I reflexively put my hand on my chin. 'What is so special about that stance? It defensive and requires strong legs for prolonged usage.' "So it's like that…"

"So you figured it out," Shikamaru said without looking at me. He then continued, "Don't tell others, it's a secret of Akamichi, even if they don't exactly hide it well."

I nodded. "Fine." I turned to Shika. "Now, Shikamaru. Is there any way you think of forfeiting the match?"

"Shika, what do you think about forfeiting the match?" I said while smiling at Shikamaru, who was standing up.

Shika stood up and answered, "I might, but I want to win, so I won't forfeit the match that easily." He sighed and continued, "Even if I am to come face to face with monsters."

"Hey! That's mean! I am no monster." Naruto said with folded arms with a pout on his face. We just chuckled at his antics and started waiting for their match.

"Hey," Sara whispered. She was sitting beside me and Ino was beside her. Ino and Sara were looking at me expectantly.

"What is it?"

"Can Naruto win against Shikamaru? He fought well against Ami." Sara asked silently.

I nodded. "He did really fought well but Naruto has too big of an advantage. You already know what it is.

"I don't know." Ino said and continued, "I know he is better at katas since you started on him and Sara first but that's it."

I chuckled, Ino looked at me quizzically. "Ino, are you trying to get information about Naruto from me?" Ino looked at me innocently. I smiled at her. "God, you are as adorable as Sara." I pinched her cheek. I noticed Sara pouting so I pinched her cheek too. She did protest but her heart wasn't in it. I sighed. "I will tell you after the tournament. If he doesn't show it to you first." Ino nodded. "Ino." She looked at me and raised a brow. "If you and Naruto are paired…"

Ino interjected. "I won't give up the match. Like Shikamaru, I want to be exempt from taijutsu class too. So no matter what you offer me, I won't give up."

I grinned widely. "Are you sure?" She nodded sagely. "If you give up the match, I will give you my body." I finished with a wink.

Ino looked at me oddly. "Your body? I can't do Mind Transfer Jutsu yet. So your body is useless." I felt my eye twitch.

"What did you expect? She is a kid." Sasuke said from the side.

I sighed, "I don't know. I thought she would get flustered or something." Someone chuckled. I turned to see Iruka sensei holding his belly with one hand. He came to me and patted my head and headed to the ring.

There, on the ring, Shikamaru and Naruto stood on opposite sides. As soon as Mizuki called the start, Naruto dashed and opened the match with a kick aimed at Shikamaru's knee. Shikamaru dodged it nimbly and waited. Naruto attacked again, but this time, he feinted with another kick and when Shikamaru dodged it, Naruto continued with a fast punch that hit Shikamaru's chin.

Shikamaru grunted but Naruto's attack didn't seem to take much out of him. He then threw a kick at Naruto who got the attack head-on with his chest and retaliated with a powerful kick to Shikamaru's chest. Shikamaru quickly halted his attack and tried to get into a defensive stance but Naruto's attack landed before he could do that.

Shikamaru flew to the edge of the ring but not outside. He quickly stood up and looked at already attacking Naruto. Naruto dashed at him, fast and jumped towards Shikamaru. Shikamaru waited until the last second and threw himself to the side. He quickly stood up and reflexively looked at Mizuki but before he could, everything went dark for him.

Naruto jumped beside unconscious Shikamaru and yelled, "Yatta!"

"Win by knock-out Naruto." Iruka said then continued, "Naruto, take Shikamaru out of the ring." Naruto nodded and lifted Shikamaru to his shoulder and walked towards us with him, skipping.

Iruka came in front of us and said, "Other group's tournament finished, and the winner decided. Whoever wins this group's tournament will fight with him." We nodded. "Then, Sasuke and Hinata, please come to the ring." I stood up to move but Iruka stopped me. "I know we have a bet but if you tell Hinata to attack Sasuke's leg, he might get injured. You don't want that right, Arata-kun?"

I sighed. "Of course. I was going to tell her to tire him out if she can't win. Not… legs."

Iruka nodded and smirked. "It's a smart decision. Too bad you couldn't say to her right?"

I felt my eyes widen. "Iruka-sensei, you are devious." I kowtowed him, "Place make me your apprentice." He just chuckled and turned to the match.

"Come on Hinata, kick his ass!"

Hinata went red momentarily then her eyes shifted and what's there was a demon from hell. Well… She seemed badass, at least for a six-year-old.

"Hey." I turned to the Voice. It was Kotoba. "I won the tournament."

I nodded and smiled. "Congratulations. How did it go?"

"It was great. I won thanks to your lessons. Though I don't know if I am going to fare against this group's winner the same. So, Naruto or Sasuke. Who do you think will be the winner?"

I grinned. "It would be good if it was Naruto but if Hinata can take Sasuke easily enough… Let's say she is tough enough to win this. Though I don't know what this means for Academy Taijutsu Style." I sighed and continued, "I need a better style."

Kotoba hummed. "I thought you said we could be great taijutsu fighters by mastering Academy Taijutsu Style. Did something change?"

I shook my head. "No, it's not that. It's just that… Academy taijutsu style is a beginner's style. You can indeed become a good taijutsu fighter by mastering it and working on your body but a practitioner of Jyuuken style with the same mastery as you will mostly -if not always- win against you."

Kotoba sighed. "So, what do you think of doing? Do you think Iruka-sensei knows a better style?"

I shook my head. "Probably not. Though I don't think there is harm in asking."

Kotoba nodded and sat beside Ino. Then I turned to the match.

Sasuke and Hinata were looking at each other with excitement each with different reasons, waiting for the unseen barrier to be lifted.

"Start."

Sasuke rushed at Hinata who was waiting for him. Sasuke threw Hinata a fist. Hinata dodged slightly and countered. Sasuke's hit missed but Hinata's hit connected with Sasuke's shoulder with so much force that Sasuke's body turned. He tried to jump back but he flinched as soon as he put his weight on his hurt leg. 'Damn. How did Hara kick Sasuke to hurt his leg like this?' Before Sasuke could jump back, another hit connected with him, on his chest. Sasuke grunted and took a step back to find his balance. But Hinata didn't seem like she had the intention of giving him any time. She attacked Sasuke with another palm strike but Sasuke threw himself to the side at the last second.

Now Sasuke had some room for himself but he was on the ground. Hinata acted fast at attacking him, preventing him from getting up. Sasuke for his part seemed like doing well on protecting himself with an odd stance. Though he was not having an easy time if the sweat that's coating on his forehead is anything to go by.

Hinata attacked and Sasuke defended for a whole minute. Then Sasuke made a mistake. He tried to attack but Hinata's answer came like a lightning and he fell on his back. He tried to get up quickly but he was pushed out of the taijutsu ring for his troubles.

"Yes! Hinata, you are great!" Naruto yelled enthusiastically.

Hinata for her part touched the tip of her index fingers and stuttered. "T-thanks N-naruto-kun."

I smiled at the exchange and walked to downed Uchiha. When he looked my way, I reached with my hand and asked, "Someone said no one can beat him here. Who was it?"

Sasuke took my hand and shook his head. "It was your fault. And Naruto's too. First, you made Hara hurt my leg then had Naruto create a monster out of Hinata." He stood up and dusted his shorts and shirt, then continued, "I saw her fighting before. She was never this aggressive."

I nodded, "How was she?"

He sighed, "As I said, she was like a monster." He said, respect apparent in his eyes.

I chuckled. "Now, now. You know Hinata likes Naruto right?"

Sasuke smirked. "Well, we are young. Who knows what will happen in the future." I shook my head and we walked to the others. There Naruto was talking animatedly to a red Hinata and others were listening to them.

"Eavesdropping to others is not a good thing you know."

Everyone turned to me. Sakura snorted, "We are going to be ninja you know. It's what ninja do." We chuckled.

I looked around to find Iruka-sensei and found him talking with Mizuki. They turned to me when they noticed me walking to them and stopped talking. When I was close to them Iruka talked, "You won our bet. Thanks to Hinata. As I promised you, I will teach you the rest of the katas but I can't teach you another taijutsu style, because I don't know myself." I just tilted my head and he continued, "Generally, it takes years to master katas to perfection. So when someone needs another taijutsu style, they either have enough experience to create their own style or has access to the ninja library's necessary level to learn taijutsu from scrolls. But I have none."

I nodded. "I understand sensei. My current focus is on mastering Academy Taijutsu Style anyway. I can worry about learning a better, or more specialized taijutsu style later." He nodded, "So, when are you going to teach me? Today, after the class?"

"That's okay with me. Though I doubt you will be able to learn the rest of the katas as easily." I looked at him quizzically. He chuckled, "You didn't think Academy Taijutsu Style doesn't have any complex katas right?" I nodded. He continued, "You were wrong. The reason I didn't teach you these katas was because of my fear that you might feel bad when you fail to master them as fast. But a promise is a promise."

I nodded. "I am excited to see these complex katas sensei. If you don't have anything to say to me, I will return to my friends." Iruka nodded, so I made my way to my friends. They were talking about something when I arrived there. "Hey, what's happening?"

"We are talking about Hinata's stance. We think Academy Taijutsu Style has a kata that looks like the one Hinata used while attacking down." Ino explained.

I tilted my head. "It could be but I don't see anything important about it."

"It's important. Why? Because if Academy Taijutsu Style has something from Jyuuken, it might have something from other taijutsu styles as well." Shino said, and after lifting his eyeglasses he continued, "So if we can understand Academy Taijutsu Style well enough, we can create other styles making it as a base."

I sighed, "Iruka-sensei said something like that too." Everyone started listening to me intently. I coughed awkwardly and continued, "He said when someone with experience mastered Academy Taijutsu Style, then they might create their own style. If as you say we can use it as a base, that means our only limit is our imagination which was always the case. I shook my head. "I think I still don't see this as important as you see."

Shikamaru sighed, "We don't talk about imagination or something like that. We can put other moves from other taijutsu styles and seamlessly integrate it to Academy Taijutsu Style, without forgoing everything we learned about it."

I hummed. "Well, you can do that but I intend to create a taijutsu style from the ground up. 'A style with monstrous stat bonuses.' Though I believe mastering Academy Taijutsu Style will help me with it. Why?" I turned to Shino and smiled then continued, "Understanding the logic of a style will help me know what kind of stances my style needs."

Ino shook her head. "Well, if you do that, then who are we to create a new style, right guys?"

"Troublesome."

"Hn."

"Y-yes."

"Hm?"

"Sigh. Lazy bastards."

We talked about the taijutsu style I intend to make while waiting. After a few minutes, Iruka told Ino and Hinata to go to the ring so we started watching. Ino and Hinata reached the arena and with Mizuki's signal, the fight started.

Hinata attacked Ino, who was holding a defensive stance fast, and threw a palm towards Ino's chest, as she did to Sakura. Ino blocked the attack and counter with a short kick. Hinata dodged and turned around herself, then attacked Ino's shoulder with extended fingers. Ino blocked that too but Hinata's attack must have hurt if Ino's wince is anything to go by. Ino didn't counter but waited while slowly inching towards the edge of the ring.

While Ino tried to reach the edge, Hinata kept attacking relentlessly and since she had to keep defending, Ino couldn't move fast. But Ino didn't give up. She took the attacks and moved back every single chance.

Hinata must have been lost her patience because she started to actually throw punches. Not normal punches meant to be powerful but fast ones. With one of those punches, she caught Ino's chin. Ino staggered where she stood, still holding guard. But for Hinata, that much was enough.

Hinata held one of Ino's arms up, and with her other hand pushed Ino out of the ring and left alone inside the ring sweaty and tired.

"Win by ring-out Hinata."

We clapped Hinata and Ino. They came towards us. Hinata ready to fall and Ino, even worse. Ino plopped down beside Kiba and opened her arms. There were lots of purple marks on them. Hinata saw them and walked beside Ino. "Ano Ino-chan. Sorry about your arms."

Ino shook her head, tired. She looked up at Hinata and said, "It's not important. We were fighting after all. You fought well by the way."

Hinata nodded. "Y-you fought well too." They smiled at each other and Hinata plopped down on the ground before Ino. Not giving any heed to where she was sitting.

I was about to congratulate Hinata when I felt a hand on my shoulder. It was Naruto. I raised a brow at him. He came closer and whispered, "Hinata-chan is too strong. How am I going to win against her?"

I shook my head, grinning. I stood up and whispered in Naruto's ear. As soon as he heard what I had in mind, he went red and started stuttering much like Hinata. "B-but I… can't. That's wrong."

I smiled, "If you want to win, that is the only way. If you feel bad, then take responsibility after."

"What? What responsibility? Don't talk with big words." Was his answer.

"It means you should do what needs to be done and…" I whispered again.

Naruto looked at me with wide eyes but didn't protest. He looked at resting Hinata and flushed. He then turned back to me and said, "It's not wrong right?" I shook my head. "Okay." He said and made his way to the taijutsu ring.

"You are evil you know that right?" I turned to the voice. Sara was smiling. I just shrugged. "What do you think will happen between them?"

I shook my head. "I don't think anything will happen. They are still six after all, as we are." That made me thinking. 'Why are these kids so smart? Is it chakra?'

"I will beat you, bastard." Came a groggy voice. We all turned to Kiba who, trying and failing to sit up. "I am not done yet." He stood up and looked at us, then to the ring. "What happened to the fight?"

We all chuckled.

A few minutes after Hinata and Ino's match ended, it was time for Hinata and Naruto's match. Hinata stood meekly at one side, touching her index fingers on each other and looking at Naruto nervously.

Naruto too looked nervous. But he was looking at me, looking for approval. So I nodded at him and danced my brows. He went red again which made me chuckle. Then Mizuki gave the signal to start.

Naruto rushed forward, full speed. Hinata just stood there, intent on taking whatever Naruto throws on her way without protecting herself. She might be even thinking of forfeiting the match but she never got the chance. Naruto caught her on a hug and whispered something to her ear. Poor girl's eyes turned back and she passed out.

"Sigh. Winner by knock-out, Naruto."

We cheered for Naruto, who was carrying Hinata. He put Hinata to the ground gently and sat beside her. I grinned at Naruto. "So, Naruto. What did you say to her?"

Naruto went red and said, "N-none of your business. Teme! She passed out because of you. I never thought this would happen!" He stood up and walked towards me. "And she doesn't wake up."

I smiled at him "Don't worry. She will wake up soon enough. In that time, maybe you should focus on your match with Kotoba." His eyes opened wide and looked at Kotoba.

Kotoba waved at him and said, "Next is our match Naruto-san. Please don't hug me."

Naruto's eye twitched. "What did you say, teme! I will show you hugging. No one gets to make fun of future Hokage, believe it!"

"Naruto, Kotoba, to the ring." They turned to Iruka and nodded.

Naruto walked to the ring while glancing at Hinata worriedly. I sighed and yelled, "Naruto, she will be okay. Just make sure to say you won when she wakes up." Naruto balled his fists and nodded. 'Damn, so much motivation. I wish I could be like that. Then maybe training would be more fun.'

"Start."

Naruto and Kotoba took their stances. Naruto's stance leaned towards strength while Kotoba's stance leaned toward speed. They looked at each other, then Kotoba moved in a blur and hit Naruto's chest with a punch. Naruto grunted and held his stance. Kotoba managed to hit him two more times but Naruto didn't seem to show any sign of faltering. Kotoba must have thought he needed more power because the next time he attacked, he was slower. Naruto got hit by the attack but this time caught Kotoba's fist then hugged him. Which made me laugh. Naruto then started squeezing. After a few seconds, Kotoba forfeited, trying to take a breath.

Naruto raised her nose and walked towards Hinata, who was waking up.

"Winner by forfeit. Naruto."

Naruto came beside Hinata and helped her get up. Hinata looked down and asked, "W-were you serious." Naruto nodded seriously. Then Hinata hugged him. We all started clapping.

After a while, Iruka loudly cleared his throat. "Okay, that's enough. Naruto, Hinata listen to me. The duo nodded and after others in the class came too, Iruka started talking, "The winner is Naruto. As I promised, he won't be joining for taijutsu classes." Naruto cheered at the side, Iruka continued, "Regardless of how many matches you have won, you all did well. Congratulations."

After the tournament, I took my bag and started walking towards home while thinking about kids, especially Naruto's way of fighting. 'Academy fighting style isn't as good as Interceptor Style but where Interceptor Style is all about counters, it seems like academy fighting style has an answer for everything. And their mastery…' It seemed like all of them were at home with the style. Easily changing their stance when needed and knowing exactly what stance to use. 'Maybe Arata's way of teaching is really better than the academy's or even my brother's.' I shook my head. "No, my brother is the best."

"Yes, Itachi-san is a prodigy and an Uchiha with active Sharingan. Of course, he is the best, after Fugaku-san that is."

I turned to the voice and noticed that I was already at the gate to the Uchiha compound. I smiled at the Saba and answered, "Hn." He nodded at me, and I nodded back. Then I continued my walk. I thought about learning Academy Taijutsu Style too. They seemed to learn it fast enough after all.

After walking a few minutes, I was in front of the door to my home. I knocked on the door and after a while, a fairly tall woman with dark hair and onyx eyes opened it. She smiled at me. "Sasuke-chan, you are home." She yelled then took me in a hug. My protests about the suffix she used ignored but my embarrassment still came to an end. I took a deep breath and got inside. I closed the door and dropped my bag on the ground.

Mother took the bag and looked at me oddly. "Your father wants to talk to you. Your brother is with him too."

I nodded. "Where are they, police building?" My mother shook her head and pointed at the door to my father's study. I sighed and knocked on the door before sliding it open. What greeted me was two men with dark hair and onyx eyes, much like my mother. But not as welcoming in my father's case. He pointed to the ground in front of him, so I bend my knee and sat down on my legs.

Father nodded and said, "I heard there was a tournament today. You won, isn't that right, Sasuke?" He asked, but what I heard is 'you better won.' So I started sweating. I sighed reflexively and shook my head. Father continued then. "Who won?"

"Naruto… Uzumaki."

"Hn." I looked up surprised. I was expecting him to berate me, asking me how I managed to lose against an orphan, but he didn't seem to mind. "Who did you lost against?"

"H-Hyuuga Hinata."

That won me a stare. "You lost to a Hyuuga." I nodded reluctantly. "I heard Hinata Hyuuga was too… kind. Maybe your previous match took a toll on you."

He looked at me expectantly, to give him a reason not to get angry or worse, disappointed. So I nodded. "In my first match, I acted carelessly and took a kick to my knee. While I was fighting with Hinata… Hinata wasn't kind father. She fought like she wanted me dead."

My father and brother looked at each other, then father said, "Perhaps we were wrong about her."

I shook my head. "She was normally kind but Arata and Naruto did something to make her fight like that."

"Why?" Father asked.

I wiped the sweat dripping from my eyebrows with my sleeve and answered, "Arata and Iruka-sensei made a bet." I quickly relayed what was bet about and Arata's attempts to cheat. I told him about how Arata said Hara to kick my leg too.

Father took it all and turned to my brother. "Are you sure he is a friend to Uchiha?" My brother nodded. Father then turned to me. "I heard he was teaching kids taijutsu. How are his… students?"

I gulped rather loudly. "They are good. The one I thought had a weak body but I still felt her kick. It was enough to injure me temporarily. Other kids too were good. I even…" I sighed and caught my father looking at me expectantly. "Father, should I learn Academy Taijutsu Style? It seems to has an answer for everything."

Father nodded. I felt some air escape my lungs in relief. Then my brother said, "Nidaime wanted Academy Taijutsu Style to be the main taijutsu style for Konoha Shinobi. To facilitate that, he made it an encompassing style with stances against every problem that can arise on the field. It's also used as a springboard to learn other, more specialized styles. We don't learn it because of what we have.

'Sharingan.' I squeezed my fists and nodded.

Father nodded again and gave me a piercing gaze. "Your brother told me about other kids' improvements in the style. Since it won't take long to learn enough, I permit you to learn from Arata. But while doing that, I want you to observe him closely; I want you to learn how he teaches that good and if he has another trick we don't know about."

I nodded. "Yes, father."

Father cleared his throat, "Did you say Arata what I told you?"

"Yes, father." I took the paper Arata written and said while giving it to my father. "I told him and he wanted me to write my name. He said he will teach me when my calligraphy is good enough."

"I saw your calligraphy. It's good." He then looked at the paper and hummed, "It seems it isn't." After thinking for a while, father asked, "Is there anything else?"

I nodded. "Arata is going to teach Naruto too."

Father looked at me seriously. "Did he say why?"

I shook my head. "No, but he is like that. I wouldn't be surprised he starts teaching the rest of the class too."

"I understand." He then turned to my brother. "Itachi. I want you to go Arata and tell him Uchiha doesn't wish him to teach fuinjutsu rest of the class for now. But he… can teach Uzumaki. I don't mind."

"I can tell him too," I told them.

"No, Itachi will." My brother nodded and disappeared from the room. 'So cool.' I thought inside but didn't let my face show it.

"Let's talk about this tournament some more." I suddenly felt the temperature drop. 'Brother, come back.'

As soon as Iruka declared the winner of the tournament, a screen popped up.

Quest Completed: Make Sure Naruto Wins the Tournament

o 5 Rep with Class 101.

o 1 Stat Point.

o 2 Level for Mentoring Skill.

o -5 Rep with Mizuki.

I smiled and dismissed the window. Iruka said, "Everyone except Arata can go." Some hesitated like Sara but eventually, they all went as Iruka said. After we left standing alone, he got closer to me. "Are you ready?" I nodded. "Good. Just remember what I said about the difficulty of these moves." I nodded again. "Well then. Do as I say."

With that, our training started. At first, Iruka seemed apprehensive. It was obvious for all my confidence, he thought I would fail to do what I said. I sighed and threw myself at the katas with extra motivation. Who knows how long it would take to persuade Iruka again. I managed to master the thirtieth kata and a notification popped up saying my Academy Style Taijutsu is now 30 of 80. 'I still have a long way to go.'

"Good. You really learn fast, but it most certainly doesn't seem fast enough." I frowned, he continued, "No matter. I will teach you until midnight, until then, learn as much as you can." I nodded and he changed his kata to what I guessed to be the thirty-first one.

It was still bright when I reached level 35 in Academy Style Taijutsu but its level was at 62 when it was midnight. Iruka sensei wiped the perspiration from his forehead with his sleeve then said, "As I thought, you couldn't learn fast enough but you still learned at a prodigious speed."

I nodded smiling with some effort. Normally I am very resistant to tiredness but working on katas for hours tired even me out. "Thanks, Iruka-sensei. I am pretty sure I can put your lesson to good use."

Iruka chuckled. "See that you do. Let me get you to the orphanage." He said and took a bag he dropped before the tournament then started waiting for me. So I got my bag too and followed him.

"So, Arata-kun. What are you plan on doing when you are out of the academy?" He said looking at me from the corner of his eye.

I shrugged, "You already know about my goal with fuinjutsu. I didn't think of any other goal yet since there is still time until I graduate so I don't need a goal."

Iruka raised a brow, "You don't need a goal?" I nodded. He sighed, "Arata, you always need a goal. If you don't have a goal, you won't be able to reach your potential."

"I guess I forgot about that," I murmured.

"About what?" Iruka asked.

"My very first goal sensei." He gestured me to go on, so I nodded and continued, "Reaching my potential is my first goal." 'I even used 20 points for Talent.' "I don't really need any other goals since this one goal shadows every other, similar goal."

Iruka nodded. "Well that's not what I wanted to hear but it's still good enough I guess." We walked like that in silence for a few minutes. When we were in front of the orphanage, Iruka waved without stopping, so I waved back and passed the guard.

When I made my way inside the orphanage building, I saw Rena waiting for me. She looked at me pointedly and asked, "How did your lesson go?"

"It was good. I managed to learn about thirty katas."

Rena tilted her head. "First thirty kata?" I shook my head. Rena sighed and pointed towards the corridor where the rooms are, "Go back to your room. You won't be able to eat anything since there aren't any leftovers today."

I sighed and nodded, "Good night Rena-san." I said and started walking towards my room. When I was inside, I opened my notifications and took a look at my gains.

You gained 3 CHA.

You gained 2 Strength.

You gained 4 Endurance.

Leaf Sticking Exercise is Leveled by 4.

Academy Style Taijutsuis Leveled by 33.

'Great improvements overall. What should I do tonight? I have only one glaring weakness and that is my Speed. It would be good to work on fuinjutsu since it's both fun and something I get good returns on, but I really need to work on my Speed. So how should I go about it? I can get to the backyard and sprint there but it would both make noise and would let others see my improvements in an obvious way. I already show too much of my talent, I don't want them to think or infer something about my ability. So, how?'

'Let's start from the beginning. What is speed? It's how fast one moves, so if I want to get faster, maybe I should move faster. That means it's not only sprints that would increase my Speed but other motions would too. So, what can I do? Yes! I can do my katas but make the transition as fast as I can manage. If I do that, I should both increase my Academy Style Taijutsu and Speed at the same time.'

Giddy with expectation for an increase in stats, I started doing katas. At first, fast transitions felt odd, but after the first set of 62 katas, the next set got easier and easier. Like that, I managed to hone my transitions in a way that I could do them reflexively and more importantly, fast.

I work on this for what felt like an hour then stopped, feeling tired again. I sat on the ground and looked at my gains.

You gained 3 Speed.

"Taijutsu didn't gain a level. Well, it's not very surprising since it's sitting at level 62. I gained lots of speed relative to the time I work on it so that's good." I stretched and yawned a little. 'I didn't sleep for a while now. I can't sleep though, I promised Naruto I would treat him ramen. That means I have to write some Special Explosion Fuin.' "Well, time to work."
