Everyone was conversing with Ash, happy to reunite with him after all these years.
He shared the story of his adventures alongside the original Digidestined to the second generation.
"That's a great story, Ash." Yolei told him.
"That's great. It's amazing you come from a world where humans and Pokemon coexist. Hopefully I can visit your world someday." Cody said.
Tai then spoke.
"We we're the ones that was transported there after Etemon was defeated." Tai recalled.
"That's right, I was Koromon at the time." Agumon added.
"You're right, and it's great to see you guys again." Ash said.
"Pika." Pikachu said.
"Say, would you hang out with us for old times sake." Ash smiled.
"Absolutely, what are friends for? As for the next generation, I would like to know what you guys have been up to." T.K and Kari told him the story about their confrontations with Ken while he was the Digimon Emperor. After numerous battles, Ken was finally redeemed.
"It would seem I missed out on a lot." Ash said.
"Yeah, we really missed you." Kari told him.
"Well, I'm here aren't I."
"Pika." Pikachu said.
"Say Ash, could we use your master digivice?" Ken asked. Ash presented the master digivice for them to look at, leaving the second generation amazed.
"That's one awesome digivice." Yolei said.
"You said you were able to master digivolve." Ken noted.
"That's right, Pikachu was the first one to do that. Right, buddy?" Ash asked the mouse Pokemon.
"Pika." Pikachu nodded as Davis looked at Veemon.
"Veemon, you and I should master digivolve." He said.
"What, I don't think I would be able to do that." Veemon told him.
"We have to, it's the only way for me to impress Kari." Davis replied.
"You have no idea how it works, do you?" Ryu questioned Davis.
"He's right Davis, the only way for you to do that is with the master digivice. But all you have is a D3, so you're out of luck." Ash explained causing the other Digidestined to agree with him. Davis on the other hand didn't believe him.
"Oh yeah Ash, I'll prove I can master digivolve. I'll face you and Pikachu." He declared.
"This won't take long. You won't last five minutes against their combined form." ShineGreymon muttered.
"Oh really. Hey Ash, I want to..." Davis noticed he had disappeared, before spotting him walking towards Sora.
"Say Sora, I was wondering if you would like to go on a date with me?" Ash asked her causing the young woman to blush.
"Sure Ash, I'd love to." Sora accepted his offer.
"Just like old times, huh Matt?" Tai asked his friend.
"Yeah." Matt nodded.
"Wait, you're saying that Ash and Sora are a couple?" Yolei asked as the pair nodded.
"That's interesting. Perhaps you should wait until their date is over, Davis." Cody advised, infuriating him.
"Oh no. I'm going to fight him and prove I'm capable of master digivolving." Davis remarked as he ran over to them.
As for Ash and Sora, they were at a cafe. They order hot chocolate as they sat at a table conversing. Ash then caught sight of the Earth Badge.
"I see you're still wearing it." Sora nodded.
"Yeah, it's a way for me to remember you. I thought we would never see each other again." A tear rolled down her eye. Ash brushed it away with his hand.
"You're not alone anymore Sora. I'm here now." Ash calmed her down. "And there's another reason I came back."
"Why is that, Ash?" Sora asked.
"I want you to come to my world." He answered. Sora was surprised to say the least.
"You mean it. You want me to come with you." Sora questioned.
"Yes you and me, I can show you around my world. Perhaps you could get a Pokemon and maybe when we're grown up we could get married and have children. Maybe they could learn about Pokemon and Digimon."
Sora thought about what he was saying and then decided.
"My answer is yes, Ash." Sora said. He was happy to hear this. The two then finished their hot chocolate. After that, they stand on the ocean staring at the water and sun.
"I love watching the sunset." Ash said.
"Me too." Sora added. What they failed to realize was that Davis had been following them.
"There they are. This time I'm going to battle you, Ash." Davis said.
"Ash, I'm happy that you're taking me to your world." Sora told him.
"And it's perfect that you're going with me." Ash replied. Sora moved closer to him. The two were about to kiss when...
"V-Headbutt!" Pikachu noticed the incoming attack and struck Veemon with Iron Tail, sending him flying.
"Hey no fair, that's cheating." Davis complained.
"Geez, you're persistent." Ash sighed as he approached.
"Look, I want to challenge you to a battle Ash Ketchum." Davis said. Ash realized he wasn't going to stop anytime soon.
"Fine, we'll battle. But not here, we don't need to be seen." Ash replied.
"Pika." Pikachu said.
"Ash, are you sure about battling him?" Sora asked.
"He won't leave us alone if I don't." Ash answered as he and Davis find a spot for their battle.
"Now this is a spot to fight." Davis said.
"You said it Davis, now we're going to kick your butt Ash." Veemon added.
"That's what you think. We only have access to one form during this battle. Any other forms will be disqualified." Ash explained. Davis was disappointed that Veemon was restricted to one form.
"Aw, come on Ash." Davis complained.
"I agree with this rule." Tai said.
"Fine, I'm going first." Davis said.
"Fine with me." Ash nodded.
"Pika." Pikachu said.
"Ready Veemon?" Davis asked.
"Ready when you are." Veemon said.
"Digi-Armor Energize."
"Digimon."
"Veemon Armor Digivolve to..."
"Digimon digital monsters, Digimon are the champions."
"Armor Digivolve."
"Flamedramon, the Fire of Courage."
"That's armor digivolution, interesting." Ash muttered.
"That's right Ash. Which Pokemon are you going to choose to master digivolve?" Davis asked.
"You're looking at him." Izzy said, pointing at Pikachu.
"You're kidding me, Pikachu. You're going to assume a small form." Davis laughed.
"Don't mess with him, Davis." Matt advised.
"True, you haven't seen what he'll turn into yet." Izzy added.
"And we're about to see what they'll change into." Joe said.
"Right about now." Sora added.
"Ready Pikachu!" Ash yelled.
"Pika." Pikachu said.
"It's time to master digivolve!" Ash exclaimed.
"Digimon."
"Ash, master digivolve to!"
"Digimon digital monsters, Digimon are the champions."
"Master digivolve!"
"Voltachu!"
"Whoa!" Yolei said, stunned.
"Small form, huh?" ShineGreymon asked with a raised eyebrow.
"A human and Pokemon fusion, amazing." Cody said.
"That's Voltachu?" Davis asked.
"That's one powerful digivice." Flamedramon sweat dropped.
"So, will you fight or surrender?" Voltachu asked. Davis snapped out of his shock.
"Keep dreaming, Flamedramon attack."
"Fire Rocket!" Flamedramon charged at Voltachu.
"Yes, I took him down." Davis cheered.
"Yeah, he did." Cody added. The group notice the original digidestined were smiling.
"Guess again." ShineGreymon corrected them. When the smoke faded Voltachu didn't have a scratch on him.
"No way, there's not even a scratch." Davis said in disbelief.
"My turn." Voltachu slammed his hands together. "Volt Blast!"
Flamedramon struggled to stand after being injured by the attack. Davis was about to order Flamedramon.
"Flamedramon, don't give up." He instructed.
Flamedramon was about to retaliate, but he had been paralyzed.
"No, he's paralyzed." Davis said, dismayed.
"This fight is over." Voltachu said before leaping into the air. "Faith of Zeus."
When the smoke faded, Veemon was on the ground with swirls in his eyes.
"Flamedramon is unable to battle. Voltachu is the winner." Matt announced as Voltachu reverted back into Ash and Pikachu.
"I'm exhausted." Ash said.
"Pika." Pikachu said. Davis ran over to Veemon.
"Veemon are you okay?" He asked, concerned.
"Yeah, I've never seen anything that strong." Veemon answered.
"Ash, that was some battle." Yolei said.
"Thanks." Ash remarked.
"You should get some rest." Gatomon advised.
"That's right, he has nowhere to go." Patamon added.
"Ash, if you want you could stay with me." Sora offered.
"Sure, I'd like that." Ash accepted.
"Ash, get back here. I want a rematch." Davis shouted.
"Not now Davis, he's exhausted from his trip." T.K said.
"I agree with T.K." Armadillomon added.
"I have to say, I'm starting to like him." Hawkmon stated.
"Me too, no wonder the others are friends with him." Wormmon said.
"That's true. Ash has a motto." Agumon commented.
"What's that?" Yolei asked.
"Don't give up till it's over!" Most of the Digimon shouted.
The gang returned to Sora's apartment. Sora's mother took notice and Sora asked her if he could stay with them. She accepted the offer.
"This is the best Christmas I've ever had." Sora said.
"It seems mine came true." Ash told her. The two then noticed they were standing under mistletoe before they kissed.
