Ash, Tai and Sora planned on going to Matt's concert with Ryu. He had no idea Matt was a music icon. T.K shared with him that a lot had changed with the original Digidestined. Mimi had moved to New York when they finally arrived at the concert.
"It's great that you're attending the concert with us, Ash." Tai told him.
"You bet Tai." Ash agreed with this.
"Pika." Pikachu said. Matt and his band appeared on the stage and began to sing. Sora was holding Ash's arm as he noticed what was going on. A blush formed on his face then went back to listening to Matt.
(Ken's apartment)
"It's great that you invited us to your party." Yolei said as she, Davis, Cody, T.K and Kari arrived at the apartment for a Christmas party.
"Thanks Yolei." Ken said as he looked at Kari.
"Kari, I want you to know that Ash is a good person."
"He is. He helped us when we were traveling across the Digital World. When we fought Myotismon, we experienced for the first time the pain he felt when Digimon died." Kari explained, shocking the rest of the second generation.
"I remember that day all too well. It was the first time we saw a mega level Digimon." T.K recalled.
"It's terrible to hear he suffered like that." Cody said sadly.
"It was." T.K nodded.
(Flashback)
"Wizardmon!" Kari shouted as tears ran down her face. Wizardmon then disappeared causing Ash to glare at Myotismon. Ryu, who was kneeling over Wizardmon slowly stood up straight and faced the ultimate level Digimon, a gold aura flaring up and covering his body.
"Unacceptable." He growled in anger over what just transpired.
"It ends here Myotismon. No more Digimon will be lost to your insane ambition."
"I've had enough of you, trainer. You've helped the Digidestined for long enough. I'm going to get rid of you once and for all." Myotismon declared.
"Not if I stop you for good." Ash said as his master digivice and Greninja started to glow.
"Master, he's master digivolving with his Greninja." DemiDevimon said.
"Impossible?!" Myotismon exclaimed.
(Ash's master digivolution)
"Digimon."
"Digimon digital monsters, Digimon are the champions."
"Digimon digital monsters, Digimon are the champions."
"Ash master digivolve to!" Ash yelled. Soon he and Greninja were turned into a humanoid Greninja.
"ShogunGreninja!"
"Is that Ash?" Sora asked.
"No way, he master digivolved again. This time it was with Greninja." Tai answered.
"Whoa, he's gone ninja." Matt said.
"It's just like the painting back in the cave." Joe recalled.
Then, a slightly larger Agumon got to his feet.
"Ready Agumon?" Ryu asked his partner.
"Yeah. Payback time for Wizardmon." Agumon nodded.
"I couldn't agree more. D.N.A Charge, Overdrive!" Ryu slammed the golden aura down on his Digivice Burst.
"Agumon warp digivolve to...ShineGreymon!" In the dinosaur's place was a large, humanoid dragon Digimon adorned in red and white armor.
"ShineGreymon, ShogunGreninja we must team up to destroy Myotismon." Angewomon told the two.
"Yeah." ShineGreymon nodded in agreement.
"I agree." ShogunGreninja added.
"Master digivolution or not, I'll destroy you and the Digidestined." Myotismon declared as he prepared to unleash a attack. The ultimate level Digimon was frozen in place as the others felt themselves powering up. MetalGreymon, Garudamon, WereGarurumon, Zudomon, MegaKabuterimon, Lilymon and Angemon transfer their power to Angewomon.
"Celestial Arrow!" Angewomon shoots a holy arrow that was made of thunder.
"Glorious Burst!" ShineGreymon spread his gigantic wings and fired concentrated light energy.
"Get him Ash!" Sora yelled.
"Pika." Pikachu said.
"Shogun Judgment!" ShogunGreninja brought out a katana as a blue aura formed around it.
The three attacks struck Myotismon at the same time.
"Defeated! No!" Myotismon screamed.
"Good riddance." ShineGreymon muttered as Myotismon disappeared.
(End Flashback)
"After that, we trusted Ash more." T.K explained.
"That's a great story, guys." Yolei replied.
"I agree with Yolei." Hawkmon nodded.
"So do I." Cody added.
"Yeah right." Davis scoffed.
"Davis, are you still mad about your defeat?" Kari asked.
"Yeah, I could've held the power wielded by the master digivice." Davis answered.
"Davis you heard what Ash said. 'Only those with a strong heart can control the power'." Sora explained.
"Is everyone against me?" He questioned.
(Concert)
"Matt's a good singer." Ash admitted.
"Pika." Pikachu said.
"He sure is Ash." Sora agreed with him.
"And it's perfect with you here." Tai added. Then the three heard a noise.
"I love you, Matt! I'm your number one fan!" Jun, Davis' older sister yelled.
"Talk about a huge fan." Ash sweat dropped as the audience cheered. Far away from the stage, a bright light materialized.
"I love a good concert." Arukenimon said. The light turned out to be a control spire.
"Mummymon we're going to give new meaning to the phrase "monsters of rock"." Arukenimon looked at Mummymon.
Back at the concert...
Ash noticed his legendary crest was acting up, a indicator of danger.
'My crest is acting up. Something's not right.' Ash thought.
The concertgoers then heard a roar.
"What's wrong? Is something happening?" Sora asked.
"I hope this is part of the show." Tai commented.
"Doubt it." Ryu muttered. "Agumon, realize!"
Sure enough DarkTyrannomon and a group of Bakemon entered the scene.
"What are they doing here?" Tai asked.
"Maybe they're music lovers." Joe informed him.
Everyone screamed in fear and ran away.
"Agumon digivolve!" Tai ordered.
"Right (grunts) I can't, Tai." Agumon said.
"What do you mean? Did you forget how?" Tai asked his partner.
"Never mind! Let's get out of here!" Izzy shouted. As they left the concert, Digimon were spotted all across the city.
"How's that possible? Digimon in the real world?" Ash then noticed Tai staring at a control spire.
"Huh? A control spire?" Tai gasped.
"Those are the things you told me about?" Ash questioned his friend.
"That's right, these can prevent Digimon from digivolving." Tai explained.
"Tai, go get help." Ash instructed.
"The two of us are the right people for this job." Ryu proclaimed. "D.N.A. Charge!"
"Agumon digivolve to...GeoGreymon!"
"Pikachu, let's help GeoGreymon knock that tower down."
"Pika." Pikachu nodded.
"Here they are." Kari said. Ash and Pikachu spot her, T.K, Davis, Yolei, Cody and Ken coming their way. Their partners had armor digivolved.
"That's interesting." Ash noted.
"Pikachu, Thunderbolt!" Ash ordered.
"Horn Impulse!" GeoGreymon charged forward with his head aimed low, smashing the control spire.
"Pika chuu!" Pikachu released a bolt of lightning as the four attacks destroyed the control spire.
"Time for us to clean up this mess." Ken said.
"Digimon."
"Digimon."
"Digimon digital monsters, Digimon are the champions."
"Digimon digital monsters, Digimon are the champions."
"Wormmon digivolve to Stingmon."
"Let's do it old school style." Tai said as Agumon nodded.
"Agumon digivolve to...Greymon!"
"Alright everyone." Matt said.
"Digivolve." Sora added.
"Right now hurry!" Izzy exclaimed.
"Gabumon digivolve to Garurumon!"
"Biyomon digivolve to Birdramon!"
"Tentomon digivolve to Kabuterimon!"
"Gomamon digivolve to Ikkakumon!" As the Digimon prepared for battle, people all over the city watched including Matt and T.K's father.
"Can it be?" He asked in shock.
During the battle, Ash noticed a piece of concrete heading towards Sora.
"Sora hang on!" He shouted, taking out a Poke Ball.
"Greninja, come out." When Greninja emerged from the Poke Ball, both immediately knew what to do.
"It's time to master digivolve!" Ash declared.
"Digimon."
"Ash master digivolve to!"
"Digimon digital monsters, Digimon are the champions."
"Master digivolve."
"ShogunGreninja!"
After subduing DarkTyrannomon alongside Greymon, GeoGreymon turned around and spotted the piece of concrete about to fall on Sora.
"Mega Burst!" GeoGreymon ejected a powerful blast of energy from his mouth as ShogunGreninja covered Sora with his body.
"Thanks, guys." Sora cheered.
"No problem. Now, let's return these guys to the Digital World." ShogunGreninja said. The three men remember ShogunGreninja.
"Was that the boy with those creatures who stopped them four years ago." The cameraman said. The rest of the original Digidestined then saw ShogunGreninja.
"Good to see you again." Tai said.
"ShogunGreninja?!" Davis exclaimed, shocked.
"Guys, I have a idea. We have to return them to the Digital World." ShogunGreninja explained.
"He's right, this will work." Tai nodded.
"We'll get the digi-port set up." Izzy informed him. ShogunGreninja nodded, charging towards the enemy Digimon who saw him coming.
"Shogun Judgment!" ShogunGreninja's attack struck them. Meanwhile, the other Digimon had their hands full. Yolei managed to open the digi-port.
"The digi-port is open!" Yolei shouted.
"Have a nice trip." ShogunGreninja smirked as he threw the Digimon into the digi-port alongside the second generation. Afterward, the Digimon return to their In-Training forms and ShogunGreninja turned back into Ash and Greninja who stared out towards the city trying to figure out what's going on.
"So that witch and her ally were the ones who transported the Digimon here." Ash said.
"You're right. Since she can move them between worlds, we're in trouble." Tai admitted.
Sora wanted to ask him something.
"Ash, how did you know something was going to happen?"
"My crest of will started acting up." The second generation Digidestined became confused.
"What crest?" Yolei asked. Ash presented his legendary crest.
"I thought the crests were destroyed." Davis remarked.
"His is the exception. This particular crest is indestructible." Ryu explained.
"Yes, and it allows him to legendary digivolve." Izzy added.
"Legendary digivolve."
"You mean Ash can digivolve further?" Cody asked.
"That's right." Kari smiled.
"Ash, what are we going to do?" T.K questioned. Ash had a smile on his face.
"We're going to stop them. After all, we did it once before." The others nod in agreement. Everyone then returns to their respective homes. Ash and Sora went to her apartment.
"Is something troubling you?" Sora asked.
"I was just thinking. What if someone ordered those two to bring the Digimon here." Sora realized he could be on to something before she walked over to him.
"Come on in Ash, it's getting late." Ash smiled before heading inside.
"I know what the problem is. You're afraid of never returning to your own world. But there's nothing to worry about. You'll always find a way home." Gennai said reassuringly.
Ash thought about what Gennai told him and realized he was right.
He then laid down and whispered. "I'm not letting any of my friends down, especially Sora."
(Summer camp)
Arukenimon and Mummymon watched Ash and Greninja master digivolve into ShogunGreninja.
"The legend is true. There is a trainer from another world that possesses the ability to master digivolve." Mummymon said. This made Arukenimon angry.
"I know. He's the one who ruined phase one of the plan." Arukenimon told him.
"Patience Arukenimon. I know he's troublesome, but don't forget the other plan." A pale man in a purple coat instructed.
"Yes, it's proceeding as planned." Mummymon nodded.
"Now that more Digimon are appearing in the real world, the plan can continue." Arukenimon commented.
"Yes, time to get everything back on schedule." The man said.
"What if Ash Ketchum ruins everything?" Mummymon asked.
"It's real simple, we kill him." The man said. Arukenimon and Mummymon liked this idea.
"I've been waiting for this moment and once I become stronger, I'll get my revenge." The man shut the TV off. The question remains, why do they want revenge on Ash.
