Chapter 2: Land of Boxes
Barney then saw that Franklin, Snoopy, Woodstock, Mario, Lucy, and Whitney built a ship. "Ahoy Barney! How do you like our ship?" Mario smiled.
"I think it's great!" Barney smiled. "Just look at those puffy clouds. And those blue waves."
"We all worked together to make them." Lucy smiled before her friends glared at her. "I helped too!"
"How?" asked Barney.
"I made the clouds. aren't they beautiful? They look like big balls of cotton." Lucy said.
"Well, now it's time to set sail!" Franklin smiled. "Whitney, you wanna come with us?"
"Sure!" Whitney smiled.
"Then yo ho ho! You're ready to go!" Barney smiled.
Barney:
I'd love to sail on a sailing ship
And sail away to sea.
Sailing, sailing. The sailing life for me.
Sailing, sailing. The sailing life for me.
Mario, Franklin, Whitney, and Lucy:
We'll feel the waves go up and down.
The wind will blow us round and round.
We'll wave hello to the ships we know
As we go out to sea.
Barney:
I'd love to sail on a sailing ship
And sail away to sea.
Barney, Barney's Friends, and Peanuts Gang:
Sailing, sailing. The sailing life for me.
Sailing, sailing. The sailing life for me.
Mario, Franklin, Whitney, and Lucy:
We'll watch the whales and dolphins play
Splashing in the salty spray.
As we float on our beautiful boat
When we go out to sea.
Barney, Barney's Friends, and Peanuts Gang:
I'd love to sail on a sailing ship
And sail away to sea.
Sailing, sailing. The sailing life for me.
Sailing, sailing. The sailing life for me.
A few moments later, the kids were organizing more boxes. "Wow. Being with Barney is more fun than the stuff I did with my last boyfriend." Peggy Jean smiled.
"What did you do?" asked Mario.
"Watched him play soccer, go see horror movies...preteen boy stuff." Peggy Jean sighed.
"Forget him!" Lucy grinned. "Enjoy childhood for once! He was a gold digger anyway!"
"Lucy's got a good point." Heather smiled. "You also got new friends."
"Yeah." Peggy Jean smiled. "And one's a dinosaur...and not one from Jurassic Park."
"Just be lucky he eats peanut butter and jelly. And vegetables." Lila smiled and giggled with Peggy Jean.
"We got so many boxes. I don't know what we can do with them all." Scott smiled.
"I'm making a bookshelf." Marcie smiled, happily.
"Do something out of your comfort zone." Lucy suggested.
"Like what?"
"I made a cardboard piano." Schroeder smiled.
"Not you too." Lucy groaned.
"I think what Lucille is trying to suggest is something different and fun." Peppermint Patty smiled.
"There are lots of different ways to use boxes. That's why there are many different kinds in almost every home." Barney smiled as the kids handed him more boxes. "There are big boxes, small boxes, cereal boxes, shoe boxes, juice boxes, toy boxes."
"Yes, that's a lot of boxes." Peggy Jean giggled.
"I would love to have a box so big that there would a car that would fit inside." Whitney smiled.
"I think you're just a little too young to drive a car." Barney chuckled.
"But we do have some really big boxes outside." Schroeder smiled.
"Are you thinking what I'm thinking?" Sally grinned.
"No." Peggy Jean said.
Sally eyes went wide at that. "It just so happens that I built some cars out of cardboard boxes the same day I met Barney." Sally smiled.
"I sure do remember that!" Barney smiled.
"Come on guys! I'll show you!" Sally smiled, leading the others outside.
"Snoopy, would you please take these boxes?" Barney asked. Snoopy nodded and did just that. "Thank you. Wait for me everybody!"
"How did you make cars?" Peggy Jean asked.
"First, we took cardboard boxes..." Sally said. "And cut holes in the top, with safety scissors."
Both girls did just that. "That was easy." Peggy Jean smiled.
"Next we put on the wheels, head lights, and tail lights." Sally said as they did just that.
"You seem like a mechanic genius." Peggy Jean smiled.
"She's hardly a genius." Lucy quipped. "In fact, one time she and Jill thought that some cookies came from elves in trees."
"Who's Jill?" Peggy asked.
"A friend from school." Sally grinned
"Oh. Can I meet her?"
"Good idea. Maybe some day, we can introduce you to her. She goes to the school with the treehouse."
"Nice. So, now what do we do for the car?"
"We add a belt for the seatbelt and a steering wheel to drive with."
The girls did just that. After awhile, they were done and admired their new cars. "This was fun!" Peggy Jean smiled.
"Glad you liked doing it!" Sally smiled as they were joined by Kami, Whitney, Peppermint Patty, Heather, Scott, Mario, and Snoopy in their own pretend cars.
"Vroom! Vroom!" Patty giggled. "Check out my racecar!"
"HA!" Snoopy laughed.
"So is everyone ready for a drive?" Mario smiled.
"Yeah!" The kids smiled before hearing a whistle. Barney, now in his safety officer's uniform, approached them.
"Wow. He must dresses up in more costumes than Lady Gaga." Peggy Jean smiled to Heather.
"Your words, not ours." Heather said, as Lucy laughed.
"He's just very imaginative." Sally smiled. "Much like Snoopy."
"What great cars!" Barney smiled. "But before you drive anywhere, there's something important you have to do."
"Check our mirrors?" Peggy Jean asked.
"No. Buckle up." Sally said.
"Oh. Duh!" Peggy Jean realized with a giggle.
"That's right, Sally!" Barney praised. "If you're riding in a car, you always have to buckle your seat belt so you'll be safe." The kids did just that and began to drive around.
Barney, Barney's Friends, and Peanuts Gang:
Driving to my school, I buckle my belt.
Driving to my school, I buckle my belt.
Driving to my school, I buckle my belt.
Buckle up my seatbelt.
Driving to the store, I buckle my belt.
Driving to the store, I buckle my belt.
Driving to the store, I buckle my belt.
Buckle up my seatbelt.
"This is way more fun than school!" Peggy Jean squealed.
Barney, Barney's Friends, and Peanuts Gang:
Driving to my house, I buckle my belt.
Driving to my house, I buckle my belt.
Driving to my house, I buckle my belt.
Buckle up my seatbelt.
Driving everywhere, I buckle my belt.
Driving everywhere, I buckle my belt.
Driving everywhere, I buckle my belt.
Buckle up my seatbelt.
Buckle up my seatbelt.
"Nice driving everyone!" Barney praised.
"Thanks!" Peggy Jean smiled.
"We're glad you're having fun today, Peggy." Charlie Brown smiled.
"Why thank you, Brownie." Peggy Jean smiled.
"When are you gonna get his name right?" Lucy asked.
"I think it's a cute nickname." Heather smiled before kissing her boyfriend on the cheek.
"Ooh! I got an idea on what to make with the boxes!" Lucy smiled.
"Your psychiatric booth?" Schroeder teased, making Lucy turn red.
"I have other interests!" Lucy snapped.
"Well, what is it?" Kami asked.
"You'll see." Lucy giggled. "Schroeder, Snoopy, Woodstock, Kami, Mario, Marcie, Franklin, help me out!" She then realized her mistake. "Please?"
"Sure!" they smiled as they went to work with the fussbudget.
"Is she always this crabby?" Peggy Jean couldn't help but giggle.
"Yes." Franklin answered. "What're we making, Lucy?"
"A surprise." Lucy said. "But a better one than what BJ tried doing a few years ago."
"Well while we're waiting for Lucy to somehow blow us away..." Lila giggled. "...do you want to explore the park with us some more?"
"Sure!" Peggy Jean smiled as she, Barney, and their friends walked away for a bit.
A few moments later, they were lying on the grass, watching the clouds roll by. "I've never seen the sky as blue as it is today." Charlie Brown smiled.
"I have, back at summer camp, last year. The sky was real blue." Peggy Jean said.
"Aren't the clouds beautiful? They look like big balls of cotton." Heather smiled.
"Oh yes! I could just lay here all day and watch them drift by." Peppermint Patty smiled.
"Me too." Barney chuckled. "You know, if you use your imaginations, you can see all sorts of things in the clouds."
"What do you see, Peggy Jean?" Charlie asked.
Peggy Jean:

"I was gonna say that I see a pretty butterfly, but I changed my mind." Peggy Jean shrugged.
"BARNEY, GUYS, IT'S READY!" Lucy bellowed out.
"Okay, here we come!" Barney smiled as they walked to what appeared to be a castle. "Oh boy! A castle!"
"A queendom." Marcie sighed. "Seriously, who saw that one coming?"
Lucy glared at Marcie, making Peggy Jean blink. "Uh...queendom?"
"Don't ask." Linus simply said.
"Barney, will you please do a castle story?" Lucy sweetly asked.
"A castle story?" Barney smiled. "I'd love to! Okay everybody, find your places."
"Our what?" Peggy Jean asked.
"We're gonna act out the story." Charlie Brown smiled.
"Oh. Does this happen often?" Peggy Jean asked, to which Marcie's eyes went wide.
"Of course it does." Peppermint Patty smiled.
"What story are we acting out?" Peggy Jean asked.
"I wonder. Can't wait to find out, though!" Marcie squealed.
"Once upon a time, they say, there lived a princess fair, who lived in a castle, night and day, and had to stay up there." Barney narrated, with Kami playing the princess.
"This is fun." Peggy Jean smiled to Sally.
"The castle was up to high for any horse or wagon, and worse, the door was guarded by a very scary dragon!"
"Why am I the dragon?" Lucy whined at what Mario whispered to her.
"Do you really wanna know?" Mario giggled.
"Can someone else do it?" Lucy whined.
Just then, they heard a 'Roar, roar, roar!' "I think your replacement is coming." Schroeder quipped as BJ came running towards the castle.
"BJ!" The kids smiled.
"Who?" Peggy Jean asked.
"That's me." BJ smiled, before noticing Peggy Jean. "Hey Heather, I thought you said you're an only child."
Heather giggled. "I am. That's Peggy Jean, Charlie's ex girlfriend."
"Really? You're not twins?" BJ asked with wide eyes.
"Not related." Heather giggled.
Peggy Jean could only stand there, with a surprised look on her face.
"Please tell me it's just you, today. Cause I don't think she can handle one more dinosaur." Lucy joked.
"What does that mean?" Peggy finally spoke up.
"Well...never mind." Lucy said.
"You look exactly alike." BJ said with wonder.
"You think so?" Peggy Jean asked.
"I think you might need glasses." Marcie joked.
"Oh well. Nice to meet you." BJ smiled. "Now, where was I? Oh yeah. ROAR!"
"Wow! Nice roar." Lucy praised.
"Thanks, Lucille." BJ giggled.
"The dragon would not step aside, for man, beats, nor birds. The only way to get inside is to say the magic words." Barney continued.
"ROAR!" BJ said before realizing something. "Uh, Barney? What are the magic words?"
"Oh, please and thank you."
"Oh, I knew that!" BJ smiled.
"Sure." Sally rolled her eyes.
Peggy giggled. "Is he always like this?"
"Yep." Lucy said.
"ROAR! ROAR!"
"Help! Help!" the princess (Kami) called out before Schroeder came, pretending to ride a horse.
"Don't worry princess! I will save you!" the knight (Schroeder) smiled.
"Oh yeah?" the dragon (BJ) asked. "What are the magic words?"
"Please!" the knight (Schroeder) said before being stopped by BJ.
"Please and..." the dragon (BJ) asked.
"Please and thank you!"
The dragon (BJ) stepped aside as Schroeder rescued the princess (Kami) "Brave sir Schroeder saved the day, and the town was happy! Our story now ends in the nicest way." Barney finished.
"Happily ever after!" the kids smiled.
"Well, you've went through your first story, and you met BJ!" Charlie Brown smiled to Peggy Jean.
"Awesome!" Peggy Jean grinned, giggling happily.
"You giggle like my sister...in a good way." BJ smiled.
"Really? Wow! Can I meet her? Is she older or younger? What's she like? Is she a social butterfly?"
"Whoa, whoa, whoa. Calm down, Peggy." BJ chuckled.
"Sorry. Forget I even said anything." Peggy Jean blushed.
"It's cool." BJ smiled. "You'll meet her soon."
"Thanks!" Peggy smiled before kissing BJ on the cheek.
"In the meantime, enjoy my queendom." Lucy smiled.
Barney:
Fairy tale castles with beautiful flags,
Flying higher than you've ever seen
Just imagine all of the things you can see
Maybe even a king or a queen
Barney, BJ Barney's friends and Peanuts Gang (except Peggy Jean):

Wouldn't you love to go, too?
"I sure would!" Peggy said.

An adventure like never before
