"Wait, the trenchcoat's snug which is weird, Ducky is this normie." Shocket had asked Linda one night when it was just her and Shocket on the couch watching movies and eating Hersey's candy making Linda grin, knowing what was happening to her sweet soulmate.
"Maybe you should ask your pops about this, he's cute and squishy like a furry squishmallow but Gamora loves him all the same like me with you." Linda told her confusing Shocket deciding to go talk to her dad like Linda suggested, going with her for support knowing this was an unique twist to their date-night.
"Awww yeah somebody's starting her squishy journey, which Ducky's gonna love." Rocket said making Shocket really confused but hungry, really hungry seeing donuts eating impressing Linda as Rocket told her that their species were naturally aquishy and kits started slowly getting cute and squishy making Shocket smirk instead of freaking hearing him say it would be slow.
"I can still be the leader of the New Warriors as well as getting cute and squishy." she asked.
"Of course sweetie as I'm a squishball but lead the Guardians, and proud of you along with your mom." he reassured her seeing Linda agreeing hugging her but returning to their penthouse-apartment seeing Shocket drinkijg Dr Pepper getting dxcited about what was happening deciding not to tell their new friends yet.
"Don't worry they'll understand when you explain." Linda told her.
"I hope so Ducky, but yes, you can cuddle me when I het as squishy as my pops, like my mom does with him." she replied giving Rocketvan idea, scampering off making them wonder what he was up to.
Later that morning, Linda and Shocket were in the kitchen making pancakes and making extra for Firestar and Gravity as they'd be hungry coming back from being out patrolling guessing they'd ran ijto Raccoon Girl who happened to be Shocket's cousin seeing Shocket scampering to the fridge, grabbing the condiments you needed for pancakes seeing Linda giggle, seeing her drowning her huge stack in chocolate-syrup, whipped cream and lots of sprinkles making her happy alomg with her growing-belly hearing Firestar and Gravity back, impressed that they'd made pancakes seeing Shocket grin shyly in reply along with Linda, asking how they were seeing the morning-news and Shocket hissing at Jameson slamming not just Firestar and Gravity but Casey too which Firestar and Gravity were confused by, until Shocket explained making them understand finding it cool, Raccoon Girl was her sister.
"Yeah, dad's probably yelling at that jerk too." Shocket said in-between bites seeing Linda look at her phone, she had to go to classes kissing Shocket reassuring her she'd be back and do something to distract herself hearing her yawning remembering what her dad had told her that food-comas happened with them after feeding their furry bellies remembering to update the lair's security so would do that, then take an nap.
"Thanks as it needed updated, you okay Shockie." Gravity told her.
"You're welcome as I used to do this stuff for Tivon, and I guess so." she said.
After that, she went to her and Linda's room, climbing onto their bed which Linda had made this morning after getting a Reece's cup from the fridge she'd installed snuggling Helen telling her beloved bazooka in it's cosy what was happening, lying down falling asleep hoping Linda might be back by the time she awoke.
Linda was relieved hearing the final bell meaning she could go home and see how Shocket was doinguntil ghe teacherhanded out permission-slips making the female-duckling excited Ashfield-trips were always fun wishing Shocket couldgo with her intil she read it was to Washington DC, knowing there was no way in heck she could go that far and Shocket being okay with that, taking deep-breaths going to talk to Rocket seeing him understand, knowing that field-trip was a senior-year tradition plus Shocket would understand but got why Linda was concerned.
"Talk to her and get it signed, I'll distract her while you're gone, or encourage your new friends to." he replied seeing her nod, aybe that would be okay as the trip sounded fun.
