Chapter 5
Worth the Weight
The sun is setting to the far west and the Girls bare witness to the fruits of their training.
Blossom: Phew! One thing about training for a whole day, It certainly makes you feel a lot stronger than before.
Butterfly: I'll say! I'm so pumped, I feel like I'm on fire! (she suddenly unleashed her energy when an orange aura is surrounding her)
The Girls are shocked when they saw Butterfly in a fiery orange aura.
Buttercup: WHOA! She really IS on fire!
Bubbles: What's happening!?
Bouquet: Hang on... You don't think this could mean…
Blossom: Of course! She's unlocked her Ki powers!
Butterfly's orange aura settles down. She looked around wondering what happened.
Butterfly: Did I just bursted into flames? And that felt so incredible! What's going on!?
Goku: (he approaches to Butterfly) Well done, Butterfly. You've just learned how to harness your spirit energy.
Butterfly: I... have?
Goku: (nodded) Mmm-hmm.
Bouquet: Gee... Wonder if I've unlocked mine too?
Bubbles: Oooh! I wanna have a go!
Blossom: Let's give it a try then.
Buttercup: Eh... Worth a shot.
The other Girls concentrated and dug deep into their Ki, and then they released fiery auras of their respective colors, much to Goku's surprise.
Buttercup: Whoa! Check me out, guys!
Bouquet: We're glowing!
Bubbles: Wow! I didn't know we could do this!
Blossom: Whatever this new power is, it feels incredible!
Buttercup: I bet we're looking totally awesome right now!
Butterfly: (smugly) And you thought training was a redundancy, right, Buttercup?
Buttercup: (sighed) Okay, I admit it. It really pays off.
Goku: (amazed) Wow, you Girls are really something else!
Buttercup: You know it, baby!
Blossom: I've got to say, Goku. These new Ki powers are very fascinating.
Goku: (chuckled) I know, right? Now that you've awakened your latent spirit energy, you can do incredible feats with it.
Krillin: Yeah! For example... (he raises his hand to the sky)
A disc of light appeared over Krillin, leaving the Girls amazed.
Girls: (amazed) Whoa!
Bouquet: (amazed) That's new.
Goku: (he turned to Mr. Popo) Mr. Popo?
Mr. Popo: I'm all over it, Goku.
Mr. Popo raises his hand and makes a giant brick appear in a puff of smoke. This leaves the Girls stunned and confused.
Buttercup: Whoa! Would you look at the size of that block!
Bubbles: It looks so heavy! I've gotta be seeing things!
Bouquet: He must be very strong to hold up something that size with just one hand!
Mr. Popo: It's also made of a material that's harder than diamonds.
Blossom: Wow, that sounds REALLY solid.
Goku: (he turned to the Z-Fighters) You ready, guys?
Z-Fighters: (they nodded for yes)
Butterfly: Ooooh, goodie! (she clapped her hands, excitedly) They're gonna use that thing for target practice!
Blossom: Makes sense. This should be interesting to watch.
Goku: Wait for it…
An eerie silence befalls the lookout until Goku gives the command.
Goku: PULL!
Mr. Popo: Hm! (he throws the brick)
The brick flies at remarkable speed, prompting Krillin to spring into action.
Krillin: Here goes! DESTRUCTO DISC! (he throws it)
Krillin's Destructo Disc gains on the brick and slices it in half.
Bouquet: Did you see that!?
Butterfly: It just got sliced in half like cheese!
Tien: (he turned to Goku) Hey! Mind if we chime in!?
Goku: Go for it, guys!
Tien and Chiaotzu leaped forward and uses their techniques as well.
Tien/Chiaotzu: DODON RAY!
Tien and Chiaotzu's attacks blew several holes in one half of the brick.
Buttercup: More like SWISS cheese!
Gohan: Alright! Check this out!
Gohan uses his technique to blow the brick half to dust.
Gohan: MASENKO, HAAAAA!
Half the brick gets blown apart, leaving the Girls greatly amazed.
Bouquet: (amazed) WHOA!
Blossom: (amazed) He just completely annihilated half that brick!
Bubbles: But the other half's going over!
The Girls looked at the other half going over the edge, worried it would hit the ground until Piccolo is seen charging his signature move.
Piccolo: I've got it! SPECIAL BEAM CANNON! (fires)
With pin-point accuracy, Piccolo's attack tears right through the other half and instantly reduces it to powder in a massive explosion.
Buttercup: Whoa…
As the blast settles, the Girls are left stunned by the Z-Fighters' Ki attacks.
Blossom: (stunned) That all happened so fast…
Butterfly: (stunned) What in the name of goldenrod just happened!?
Goku: That, Girls was the result of years of devoted training and hard work, fashioning your spirit energy into a weapon against anyone who would dare to harm the Earth. And that's only the tip of the iceberg.
Bubbles: (amazed) Incredible…
Bouquet: (she turned to Bubbles) Uh... Bubbles?
Bubbles: That was incredible! Did you see how those two guys made swiss cheese out of that brick!? They were all like... (she imitates Tien and Chiaotzu's Dodon Ray) ...DODON RAY!
When all of the sudden, Bubbles accidentally fires an actual Dodon Ray that shocks everyone around her. Bouquet dodges out of the ray's path as it lights up the entire Lookout and flies off the edge.
Bubbles got shocked for what she did just now.
Bubbles: (shocked) Uh…
Chiaotzu: (shocked) Did... Did you see that, Tien!?
Tien: (shocked) She just... executed the Dodon Ray technique perfectly!
Trunks: But wasn't it supposed to be yellow?
Goten: Yeah, that one was blue.
Krillin: (terrified) Just what kind of Girls... ARE they!?
The other Girls came up to Bubbles with stunned looks on their faces.
Blossom: Bubbles…?
Butterfly: What was that…?
Bouquet: You just did…?
Buttercup: Way to go, Bubbles. We're REALLY in for it now.
Bubbles: (remorsefully whined) Eeep…
Goku: Huh? What for?
Bubbles: Wait... Y-You're... not mad?
Goku: Of course not. I mean, how can I be mad at all? You're quite a fast learner when you watched Tien and Chiaotzu's Dodon Ray in action. Heck, you might be an even faster learner than me!
Bubbles: Really…?
Goku: Absolutely! Although... you really ought to be a bit more careful there, Bubbles. You really could've blown Bouquet's head off.
Bubbles: (she cries comically) I'M SORRY!
Goku: Hey, it's okay, Bubbles. You were only pretending you could do that technique. You didn't know you could actually pull it off.
Blossom: (she came closer to Bubbles) He's right. You don't have to be so hard on yourself.
As Blossom and Goku comforts Bubbles, Buttercup has a surprising revelation about her power boost.
Buttercup: Hang on a sec…
Blossom: What is it, Buttercup?
Buttercup: If Bubbles can fire that ray, maybe I can...
Everyone started watching as Buttercup looks off the edge of the Lookout concentrates by standing in a pose.
Buttercup: Okay, let's see if I can do this one!
Buttercup started glowing in a strange green aura and takes aim over the horizon.
Buttercup: (she controls her breathing)
Buttercup tries to duplicate Roshi's signature move once more as everyone continues watching in suspense.
Buttercup: Ka... me... ha... me…
An orb of green energy appeared in Buttercup's hands as she prepares to fire.
Butterfly: Look at that!
Bouquet: She's actually doing it!
Buttercup: HAAAAA!
Buttercup fired a green Kamehameha Wave that flies off the edge of the Lookout and dazzles everyone around her.
Girls (except Buttercup): (amazed) Whoa…!
After the light fades, everyone is left stunned silent and Buttercup feels confident over finally mustering her first Kamehameha Wave.
Buttercup: Phew... Nailed it. (she collapses with relief and exhaustion)
Gohan: Wow. Those little girls really ARE fast learners.
Krillin: Tell me about it, Gohan.
Trunks: And that green kinda adds a nice touch to it.
Goten: It sure does!
Goku: (he turned to Buttercup) Congrats, Buttercup! You actually managed to pull off the Kamehameha Wave!
Buttercup: (weakly) And it really does take a lot out of you.
Goku: Buuuut it can still do with a bit of work though.
Buttercup: (shocked) What!? (she stands up on her feet)
Goku: Although you did make a real doozy there, it still lacked control, had no focus, kind of as wild and unpredictable as a shaved tiger. You could've accidentally blown up a whole city with that blast.
Buttercup: (gulped)
Goku: Hey, it's okay, Buttercup. We can do some more target practice, so you can learn to control your technique in no time flat.
Buttercup: (sighed of relief) That's good to hear.
Goku: (he turned to the other Girls) Well, how about it, Girls? Are you up for it?
Blossom: We're with you, Goku.
Butterfly: Ooooh! This is gonna be fun!
Bubbles: And how!
Bouquet: Me too. So, where to next?
Goku: Glad to hear it! Just follow me and I'll-
Just then, they heard panic shouting through a loudspeaker from higher above.
?: DANGER! DANGER! EARTH'S IN TROUBLE! EARTH'S IN TROUBLE!
Buttercup: What's going on!?
Krillin: (he looks and points up) UP THERE!
Everyone looks up and sees a fiery object coming in from above, which turns out to be Jaco's ship as he descends at a dangerous speed.
Bubbles: (delightfully gasped) A shooting star!
Butterfly: (jumped eagerly) Ooooh! Ooooh! I wanna make a wish!
Goku: Hang on... Isn't that Jaco's ship?
Bubbles/Butterfly: (confused) Jaco?
Krillin: What's he doing here?
Gohan: Whatever the case, he looks like he's coming in too fast!
Piccolo: He'd better not leave a scratch on the Lookout!
Blossom looks up at Jaco's incoming ship with determination.
Blossom: (determined) I got him! (she flies up)
In his spaceship, Jaco sees the Lookout directly below him and tries to slow down, but then realizes the brakes are out.
Jaco: (panicked) DANGER! DANGER! I'M IN TROUBLE! I CAN'T PUT ON THE BRAAAAAAAKES!
He prepares for the worst until he feels a loud bump from beneath his ship and finds himself slowing down. Jaco looked out through the window and saw Blossom slowing his ship down a bit with her strength.
Blossom: Are you okay?
Jaco: O-OH! I'm just fine. Thanks, good citizen!
Blossom flies back down to the Lookout while carrying Jaco's ship as the others watched in suspense.
Blossom: Easy... Easy…
Blossom sets Jaco's ship down softly and wipes her head with relief.
Blossom: Whew. That was lucky.
Piccolo angrily runs up to Jaco and shouts at him for almost damaging the Lookout with his reckless driving.
Piccolo: (angrily) ARE YOU INSANE!? You could've ruined the Lookout, flying recklessly like that! Where'd you learn to drive!?
Jaco: (he opens the cockpit and sighs bashfully) You're right. Sorry about that. I really need to check the brakes more often.
Piccolo: Tch! (he crosses his arms) That old excuse.
Jaco: But that's not why I'm here!
Jaco climbs out of his ship and warns everyone of an impending crisis.
Jaco: I came to warn you that a new threat is coming to Earth!
The Girls and Z-Fighters are shocked and imperiled over hearing this.
Krillin: (shocked) WH-WHAT!?
Jaco: And in case you're wondering, it's not Frieza. In fact, this new threat kinda makes him look like a chump.
Gohan: (he turned to Piccolo) You were right all along, Mr. Piccolo!
Piccolo: (he turned to Gohan, nodded) Hmph.
Goku: Wait a minute... THAT'S why you guys came up here!? Why didn't anyone tell me about this!?
Buttercup: Tell you what, Goku? (she shook her head) I don't get it. What's going on?
Goku: (shrugged) Beats me.
Jaco: It's true I tell you! When I was out patrolling Pluto, I saw this gigantic space castle appearing out of nowhere and is right now, on a course to this planet!
Girls: A space castle!?
Goku: Well, why didn't you tell Beerus about it?
Jaco: Well, I was going to but when I got there, Whis told me that Lord Beerus was unavailable. Besides, (whispered) he scares me.
The Girls looked at each other in confusion.
Jaco: Good thing Whis knew exactly what that thing was and he told me everything about it.
Goku: Really? What did he tell you?
Jaco: That thing is called Brimstrom, the dark fortress of the 8th Universe.
Bubbles: It sounds scary…
Jaco: If you think that's scary, wait 'til I tell you that place is ruled by a very eeeeevil person.
Jaco turned away from our heroes and cleared his throat.
Jaco: The monster in question is none other than... (he turned back to the Girls, Goku and the Z-Fighters) ...Zulfer, also known as...The Collector.
Goku: Zulfer...
Girls: (they cling to each other, terrified) Th-The Collector…?
Jaco: He flies around the cosmos, challenging the strongest warriors from each universe to battle him, then he mops the floor with them and adds them to his horrible collection. That's how he conquers their respective universes. Or... at least that's what Whis told me.
Piccolo: He's already done that to seven of the twelve universes, and we're next, right?
Jaco: That's exactly what I meant! He even beat some guy named Jiren!
Hearing that Zulfer defeated Jiren in battle mortifies the Z-Fighters.
Z-Fighters: (horrified) NO WAY!
Blossom: Who's Jiren?
Piccolo: (shocked) The strongest warrior in the 11th Universe and the entire known cosmos! His power alone makes a God of Destruction look tame!
Blossom: Yikes…
Gohan: But that's insane! My Dad could barely even touch that guy!
Tien: So if this Zulfer's even stronger than Jiren…
Krillin: (gulps in horror) We're really in for it now…
Buttercup: Wait a minute... (she flies up to Jaco) How do we know you're not making all this up?
This makes everyone else except Piccolo think the same way too about Jaco, as they gave him unimpressed looks.
Jaco: WHAT!? H-How can you say that!? You're talking to Super Elite Galactic Patrolman Jaco here! (he does his trademark pose) It would be a permanent stain on my record to make up an impending crisis! (nervously giggled)
Buttercup: Okay, okay! No need to get all hyper!
Krillin: Riiiight.
Trunks: Yeah, as far as Galactic Patrolmen go, Jaco isn't exactly reliable.
Jaco: Well, if you people still aren't convinced, LOOK AT THIS!
Jaco shows our heroes a big holographic video shot of Brimstrom tearing through Saturn's rings, much to their surprise and horror.
Girls: (horrified gasped)
Tien: Huh!? What is that thing!?
Chiaotzu: It looks so creepy…
Krillin: And HUMONGOUS!
Gohan: And it's messing up Saturn's rings!
Jaco: That is Zulfer's fortress, Brimstrom! I took a quick video of it passing Saturn while I was on my way here.
Goku: Well, you don't see Frieza cruising around in something like that.
Trunks: Wow, that thing must be pretty fast to get from Pluto to Saturn in such short time.
Goten: Very fast.
Buttercup: Okay, space cop! Everyone believes you now! You happy?
Jaco: (pridefully snickered) Leave it to a Galactic Patrolman's evidence to put all your doubts to-
Jaco notices something strange about Buttercup and takes a closer look at her.
Jaco: Wait just a minute... (he walked around Buttercup, examining her)
Buttercup: Uh, what do you think you're doing?
Jaco: (gasped in shock) AH! You look just like that girl who's with Zulfer! No doubts here!
Buttercup: (confused) Uhhh... What?
Jaco then looks at the other Girls and is thrown into a panic, holding them at gunpoint.
Jaco: (he shrieks in horror and points his raygun at them) YOU'RE THEM! YOU'RE ALL ZULFER'S CHILDREN OF DOOM! (sternly) I'll have to arrest all of you for universal vandalism!
Bubbles: (panicked whined)
Blossom: Universal vandalism!?
Butterfly: What are you talking about!?
Bouquet: And who are these Children of Doom?
Goku got in front of the Girls as he defends them from Jaco.
Goku: No, Jaco, wait! They have nothing to do with that Collector guy!
Jaco: Oh no? I saw everything through Whis' staff! That Zulfer has five little girls working under him and they look exactly like them! Except they're not dressed in black for some weird reason.
Blossom: Wait... Five little girls... dressed in black... who look just like us... Hmm... (she thinks for a minute, then she gasped in realization) The Black Puff Girls!
Buttercup: What!? I thought we wouldn't have to deal with those creeps!
Bubbles: And now they've followed us here!
Goku: The Black Puff Girls? Who are they?
Blossom: (she turned to Goku) It's a long story, Goku.
Butterfly: But to put it simply…
Buttercup: They're a bunch of no good imposters!
Bouquet: And they clobbered us in our world.
Bubbles: They were AWFUL!
Goku clenches his fists in anger while Jaco gets confused about the Black Puff Girls' team name.
Jaco: (confused) Okay, I'm really confused. I thought they were called the 'Children of Doom'.
Blossom: And now we know they're working for this Zulfer guy!
Butterfly: That guy must REALLY mean business!
Jaco: And if I'm not mistaken, these Children of Doom or as you call them, the Black Puff Girls are from this universe.
Blossom: Huh!?
Bubbles: Wait... I thought they were from ours!
Jaco: Well, as far back as the Galactic Records can tell, they've been commuting acts of vandalism in this universe before they disappeared to who knows where. Now we know they've been terrorizing other universes. As for where they came from, that's errr... on a need to know basis.
Buttercup: (she crosses her arms) Still doesn't make any sense to me.
Krillin: (nervously) Gulp... This day just keeps getting better and better…
Gohan: How long until this Zulfer gets here?
Jaco: At the rate he's traveling through your Solar System, I'd say about... six hours from now.
Everyone becomes imperiled and frustrated over not having enough time to prepare for Zulfer's arrival.
Krillin: (shocked) WHAT!? Six short hours!?
Tien: AAAARRGH! (he pounds the Lookout in frustration) There won't be enough time to prepare for that guy!
Chiaotzu: (concerned) Tien…
Piccolo: Hmmm... There is one solution though.
Gohan: Right. The Hyperbolic Time Chamber.
Blossom: (she turned to Gohan) Hyperbolic Time Chamber?
Bouquet: What's that?
Gohan: It's a pocket dimension where time flows differently from outside. Six hours out here is equal to three whole months in there.
Buttercup: (baffled) What?
Blossom: Oh, I get it! A temporal differential!
Gohan: That's pretty much the gist of it.
Hearing about this brightens everyone's spirits.
Tien: (he cheered up) Huh. Guess we DO have time on our hands after all.
Chiaotzu: (giggled)
Trunks: Yeah! Three months sounds like plenty of time!
Goten: I'll say!
Krillin: Well, what are we waiting for?
Buttercup: Yeah! Where is this chamber?
Goku: (he pointed at the Hyperbolic Time Chamber door) It's right over there.
The Girls and the Z-Fighters followed Goku to the door to the Hyperbolic Time Chamber.
Goku: Well, here it is!
Bubbles: Through that door?
Goku: Yep. While you guys were training, Dende and Mr. Popo made some arrangements inside.
Butterfly: What kind of arrangements?
Goku: We'll just have to step in to find out.
Goku is just about to open the door, but then remembers to warn the Girls about the living conditions inside.
Goku: Oh, and Girls, there's something you need to know while entering the Hyperbolic Time Chamber.
Girls: What is it?
Goku: The gravity inside is ten times stronger than that out here. You'll start feeling like lead once you go inside.
Girls: (gulped)
Goku: Also, the air is very dense in there, kind of like being in an easy bake oven. You may have trouble breathing at first, but you'll learn to get use to it.
Bubbles: That doesn't sound very safe…
Bouquet: I'm starting to think the same thing, Bubbles.
Butterfly: Um... You sure there isn't another way we can extend time?
Blossom: What choice do we have, Girls? The longer we linger out here, the closer that Collector will get to Earth.
Buttercup: Then let's roll with it!
Mr. Popo: Now just a minute.
The Girls turned to Mr. Popo with a confused look on their faces.
Girls: (confused) Huh?
Mr. Popo: You'll be needing these.
Mr. Popo presents the Girls with five new training outfits that they recognized from back home.
Blossom: Training outfits?
Bubbles: Hey, they kinda look like our training suits back home.
Butterfly: Yeah, but they seem a little different from ours.
Mr. Popo: I hope you like them. I had them made right after your arrival.
Bubbles: I wanna try 'em on! Where are the dressing rooms?
Mr. Popo points down to the far left of the Time Chamber door.
Mr. Popo: Down there, on your right.
Bubbles: Thank you, Mr. Popo! (she flies ahead to the dressing rooms)
Buttercup: Hey, wait for us, Bubbles! (she flies after Bubbles)
In a few seconds, the Girls flew in and out of the dressing room and presented themselves in their new training outfits.
Blossom: Well, how do we look?
Goku: To be honest with you, Girls, they do look good on you.
Krillin: No kidding! You guys look sharp!
Mr. Popo: There's also a little something at the back too.
Bubbles looked at her back and her sisters noticed a circle symbol on her Gi.
Bubbles: Huh? What's this mark on my suit?
Buttercup: Hey! I've got one on mine too!
Bubbles: (she sees Buttercup's symbol to be a star) Oooooh, pretty!
Butterfly: Hey, check out mine! (she shows the Girls her Gi outfit that has a butterfly symbol in the back) It has a butterfly on it! Isn't it cute?
Bouquet: If you think that's cute, mine has a flower on it! (she shows the flower symbol on her Gi outfit)
Blossom: (she looks at her heart symbol, gladly) Hmmm... Guess I must have a pretty big heart to earn this one.
Mr. Popo: That's right.
Girls: (they turned to Mr. Popo) Huh?
Mr. Popo: Those marks are a clear reflection of the personalities that you have demonstrated today.
Buttercup: Our personalities?
Mr. Popo: Correct. For example, Buttercup, yours reflected on your stoic nature and eagerness for battle.
Buttercup: (chuckled) Heh, heh, heh. You said it.
Mr. Popo: Bubbles, yours showed that you are always looking for the simple and joyful things in life.
Bubbles: (giggled) You know, I can almost picture a smiley face on this thing.
Bouquet: I can imagine that.
Mr. Popo: Bouquet, yours showed that you are tender, kind and compassionate.
Bouquet: (blushes) Aw, shucks.
Butterfly: (eagerly) What about me!?
Mr. Popo: (laughed fondly) Why, Butterfly! Yours showed carefree fondness for all things fun of course!
Butterfly: (delightfully gasped, loops joyfully) Whee! WHEEEEE!
Blossom: (giggled) Hey, don't get too excited, Butterfly.
Mr. Popo: Which brings us to Blossom.
Blossom: (she turned to Mr. Popo) Hmm?
Mr. Popo: You've proven today that you care so much for your sisters and their well being, and that takes a lot of heart, devotion and loyalty, the very qualities that make a great leader.
Blossom: Wow, Mr. Popo, I'm so touched.
Mr. Popo: (smiled) I thought so too.
Goku: (he came up to the Girls) So what do you Girls think of your new training outfits?
Buttercup: They're awesome, Goku!
Bouquet: They fit us like a glove!
Bubbles: And they're quite comfy too.
Butterfly: Not to mention these marks suit us so well!
Blossom: Thanks, Goku! We really love them!
Goku: Great! Now, you Girls ready to head on in?
Bubbles: We sure are!
Buttercup: Yeah! Time to get this show on the road!
Goku: (determined) Then let's do this!
Goku opened the door and everyone bravely enters the Hyperbolic Time Chamber, while Jaco stays outside.
Jaco: Okay! Knock yourselves out in there, guys! I'll just stay out her and uh... watch the skies! (he opens the hood of his ship, and talks to himself) And see if I can work out the brakes on this thing.
While inside the Hyperbolic Time Chamber, the Girls started feeling the intense gravity and their movements begin to slow down. They grew heavier and heavier until they fell to the floor like pancakes.
Bouquet: Yikes... I feel so heavy…
Buttercup: Me too... I can barely... move... a muscle...!
Bubbles: (coughed) I can barely... breathe…
Butterfly: (deeply gasped) No oxygen... Air... too dense…
Blossom: Wow... You weren't kidding about this place, Goku…
Goku: Well, I warned you, didn't I? But don't worry. You'll get used to it.
Buttercup: (she tries to stand up) Easy... for you to say…
Blossom: (she tries to get back up) Come on... Girls... We've gotta get back up... and take this one... step at a time…
The other Girls nodded their heads and mustered all their strength to get back on their feet.
Butterfly: (she tries to get back up and groaned) Almost... got it…
The Girls continued struggling against the extreme gravity until they finally managed to stand up straight.
Buttercup: THERE!
Blossom: Now... let's take this... one step at a time... On my command...! 1...! 2...! 3…!
Girls (except Blossom): 1...! 2...! 3…!
Through Blossom's command, the Girls slowly walked towards the opening in the room while the boys are left curious over what they are doing.
Blossom: Right... Left... Right... Left... Right... Left... Right…
Goten: Uhhh... Trunks? What kind of game are they playing?
Trunks: Isn't it obvious? They're not used to the insane gravity in here.
Goten: (eagerly) It still looks pretty fun!
Goten started walking like the Girls towards the opening, as Trunks watches in exasperation.
Trunks: Come on, Goten. Seriously?
The Girls managed to walk out into the open, but when they start looking around the Hyperbolic Time Chamber, their minds are utterly blown.
Girls: (gasped)
Bubbles: Wh-Wh... What IS this place?
Buttercup: It just goes on forever and ever!
Butterfly: Are we lost or something?
Blossom: It's like we're... floating in a sea of nothingness!
Bouquet: This is giving me a headache…
Goten: (giggled) Mind-blowing, isn't it?
Blossom: Yep.
Butterfly: You can say that again.
Bubbles: And this is our first time here.
Buttercup: This is nuts!
Bouquet: Somebody catch me... I'm being overwhelmed here…
Butterfly: Come on, Bouquet. Don't start now.
Goku catches Bouquet when she passes out and tells them what they are going to do in the Time Chamber.
Goku: Believe it or not, we're gonna be spending a lot of time in this place, training non-stop for the next three months.
Buttercup: (shocked) Three months!?
Butterfly: You can't be serious, Goku!
Bubbles: I don't think we're gonna last that long in here!
Goku: Can't get anymore serious than this, Girls. We've got a big fight ahead of us and the least we can do is get you all trained up for then.
Blossom: But you're asking too much! (she loses her balance) Whoa... (she falls back down on her butt) OOOF!
Goku: Hmmm... But you Girls don't look like you're quite used to these conditions, which may be a bit of a problem.
Tien: Well, for starters, you can train them to adapt to these conditions, just like on King Kai's planet.
Goku: (brightened) HEY! Great idea, Tien!
Piccolo: But for that to work, we're gonna need substitutes for Gregory and Bubbles.
Bubbles: What was that?!
Goku: (frantically) Oh, no, no no! I didn't mean you, Bubbles!
Bubbles: Then who?
Goku: King Kai has a pet monkey who's also named Bubbles. He's used to the immense gravity on his planet and when I was training under King Kai himself, I had a hard time catching him.
Bubbles: Wow. That's a pretty strong monkey.
Goku: The problem is we're gonna need someone who can run just as fast in this chamber, but who? (he scratches his chin in thought) Hmmm…
Goten: Trunks and I can do it, Dad!
Trunks: Yeah! It'll be a piece of cake!
Goku: You boys?
Trunks: Yeah, we were once in this chamber for 15 days straight. That's about an hour outside, right?
Goten: (nodded) Yup!
Goku: Oh, yeah! That's when you were trying to master Fusion in our fight against Majin Buu!
Buttercup: (she tilts her head to the left) Fusion?
Butterfly: (she tilts her head to the right) Majin Buu?
Goku: But how fast can you boys actually run in here?
Trunks: Just watch this! (he dashes off)
Goten: Wait for me, Trunks! (he chases after Trunks)
The boys started running around the Hyperbolic Time Chamber, unfazed by the extreme gravity.
Blossom: Wow, that's fast!
Goku: (excited) Perfect!
Buttercup: Okay, now what?
Goku: (he cleared his throat) To help you get use to the intense gravity here, your first training exercise will be to tag Goten and Trunks.
Butterfly: (she jumped with joy) Oh boy! This should be fun! (she loses her balance) Whoa... (she falls on her butt) UMPF!
Goku: Well, sure, if you like a little challenge. But I should warn you, they tend to go a little overboard with this sort of thing.
Buttercup: No way! I can handle it! Just watch me!
Goku: Dunno. You sure about that?
Buttercup: Of course I'm sure. I know all about it when it comes to chasing down bad guys.
Goku: If you say so. (he turned to Goten and Trunks) Hey, boys!
Goten/Trunks: (stopped) Yeah!?
Goku: The Girls are gonna tag you! You'd better run like crazy!
Goten/Trunks: Okay!
The boys started running around the chamber again, while the Girls tried to tag them.
Goten: Catch us if you can!
Trunks: (mockingly) If you can even keep up!
The Girls have a hard time trying to catch them in the extreme gravity, but the boys still remain unfazed.
Blossom: Try to keep up with them, Girls!
Bubbles: I'm trying my best here!
Buttercup: Easier said than done! My body still feels like lead!
Bouquet: Mine too!
Goten: What's wrong, Girls? Too stubby to keep up!?
Trunks: (mockingly) Nah. They're probably just too fat and lazy to even move a muscle!
The Z-Fighters are greatly shocked by Trunks' insult and the Girls are greatly offended, much to Butterfly's anger.
Krillin: (shocked by Trunks' sass) OOOOOOOOH!
Goku: (shocked) Did he really have to go and say that!? (growled) WHAT A PUNK!
Butterfly: (angrily) Fat and lazy, huh!? Why that little…
Butterfly's face turns bright red, then she lets out a scream and becomes more determined than ever to tag the boys.
Butterfly: (angrily) I'LL SHOW YOU WHO'S FAT AND LAZY!
The other Girls started running faster at the boys, but still have a hard time trying to tag them both.
Gohan: Look at them go! Guess a little motivation goes a long way, huh?
Piccolo: (blushing in embarrassment) But did Trunks really have to go and say that!?
Krillin: You said it, Piccolo. Bad karma right there.
As Goku watches the Girls chasing the boys, he started having fond memories of when he was chasing the monkey Bubbles around on King Kai's planet.
Goku: (sighed) Still, watching the Girls chasing the boys around like this, it kinda brings back memories of when I was with King Kai.
Eventually, the Girls ran out of steam and collapsed in exhaustion as the boys smugly tower over them in triumph.
Bubbles: (panting) I can't take it anymore…
Butterfly: (panting) This isn't fun at all…
Trunks: C'mon, Girls. Don't tell me you're out of steam already.
Goten: But we were just getting warmed up!
Trunks: In fact, we were just about to bust out the big moves!
Buttercup: Wh... What!?
Trunks: Watch and learn, Girls! You're about to be dazzled! (he turned to Goten) Ready, Goten?
Goten: Ready, Trunks!
The boys jumped further apart and prepared to perform their Fusion dance until Goku intervenes.
Goten/Trunks: Fuuuuuu... sion…
Goku: BREAK TIME!
Goten: (disappointed) Aww... Dad.
Trunks: Why'd you have to go and stop us!?
Goku: Hey, you don't have to overwork them like that! They need some time to get their strength back.
Goten/Trunks: (they looked back at the Girls, disappointedly sighed) Okay…
Goku came up to the Girls who were feeling exhausted during their first time in the Hyperbolic Time Chamber.
Goku: Come on, Girls. You deserve a tour of your new living space. (he hears his stomach rumbling) And some dinner.
Butterfly: (weakly) Good call.
Bouquet: That would be nice.
Buttercup: No kidding. I sure could go for a snack right about now.
Blossom: Me too. I wonder what's on the menu.
Goku: Trust me. You're gonna love it.
Goku takes the Girls back to the building in the middle of the chamber and gives them a tour of the newly arranged living room.
Girls: (amazed) Wow…!
Goku: I know, right? Cozy, isn't it?
Buttercup threw herself on top of the sofa and starts to relax.
Buttercup: Aw, yeah! This is living!
Goku: I knew you'd like it! You should probably thank Dende and Mr. Popo for all this.
Blossom: They made all this?
Goku: Of course! When you Girls were training outside, I asked them put in an extra large bed for you and an extra bathroom too.
Bubbles: (amazed, starry eyed) They know everything.
Goku: Well, they'll have to with this whole Guardian gig.
Butterfly: (she turned to the rest of the Z-Fighters) But what about you guys? Aren't you sleeping in this Time Chamber with us too?
Goku: Of course! Dende and Mr. Popo also put in some bunk beds for us!
Bouquet: Umm... (she scratched her head) Those don't look very comfy.
Goku: Yeah, but at least they don't take up too much room and hey, at least you Girls get the five-star treatment.
They heard a bell ringing and Piccolo calling out to them from the kitchen.
Piccolo: Dinner's ready, everyone. Fried rice by the metric ton.
Butterfly started drooling as she sees a delicious platter of fried rice.
Goku: OH BOY! DINNER TIME!
Goku bolts to the dining table and the Girls flew after him.
Buttercup: Hey! Leave some for us!
At the dinner table the Girls enjoyed their meal, but are left perplexed by Goku's questionable table manners as he scoffs down several bowls within seconds. Bubbles started imitating Goku's gorging, much to the other Girls' disgust.
Buttercup: Wow. And I thought I had bad table manners.
Blossom: I didn't know that Goku loves to eat so much food.
Butterfly: But does he have to eat THAT much?
Krillin: Well, that's the thing with Goku. He's pretty much a bottomless pit. (whispered) It's probably best he's kept as far away from the buffet as possible.
Bouquet: I see.
Goku: (he talked with his mouth full) Hey, don't let it put you off. You gotta eat to keep your strength up!
Piccolo: DON'T TALK WITH YOUR MOUTH FULL!
Piccolo's shouting frightens Goku and causes him to choke on his food as he tries beating on his chest to work it down.
Goku: Argh! Gasp... ARGH!
Piccolo: Great. Does anyone know the Heimlich maneuver?
Bouquet: I'll try and help.
Bouquet tries to give Goku the Heimlich, but her arms cannot reach around his belly.
Bouquet: Umm... A little help, Girls?
Blossom: Okay, Girls, Heimlich Belt Formation!
The Girls leaped from their seats and formed a chain around Goku's belly, then squeezes him tight until he coughs out the fried rice trapped in his throat.
Bubbles: Feeling okay, Goku?
Goku: Yeah... (coughed) Thanks.
Blossom: You really shouldn't talk with your mouth full! (she puts her hands on her hips) It's rude and it's a choking hazard!
Goku: Aw, come on, Blossom! You're starting to sound like King Kai there! Besides, I'm used to it.
Buttercup: Yeah, but we're not.
Goku: (embarrassedly giggled) Sorry about that.
Trunks: Hey, can we get back to that game of tag already? I'm totally stuffed.
Goten: Yeah! Me too!
Goku: Sure! What about you, Girls?
The Girls stared at Goten and Trunks with determined looks on their faces.
Blossom: I'm done.
Buttercup: I'm done.
Bubbles: I'm done
Bouquet: I'm done.
Butterfly: I'm done. Wait a minute... (she has another mouthful of fried rice) Okay, now I'm done.
Goku: Great! Now let's get back to training.
Back outside, the Girls stared down at Goten and Trunks intensely.
Trunks: You Girls ready to feel the burn?
Goten: Yeah. You ready for this?
Buttercup: (determined) Yeah, I sure am!
Blossom: If I remember correctly, you were gonna bust out the big moves. Weren't you?
Goten: You got it!
Trunks: Alright! Watch and learn, Girls! You're about to be dazzled! For real this time! (he turned to Goten) Ready, Goten?
Goten: Ready, Trunks!
The boys jumped further apart and prepared to perform their Fusion dance once more.
Goten/Trunks: Fuuuuuu... sion... HAAA!
They go up in a blinding burst of light, leaving the Girls dazzled.
Butterfly: (she covered her eyes from the light) Oh! That's bright! What's going on!?
Eventually, the light settles and the Girls are mind-blown when they see what the boys have fused into.
Gotenks: (singsong) Da da-da-DAAAAA! (he speaks normally) Gotenks in da house!
Butterfly: (eyes widen and twin-tails stand on end) WHAAAAAAAT!?
Bubbles: Holy moly! They've mixed together!
Bouquet: Wait... Isn't that the boy from the village?
Buttercup: They're both the same kid!? I thought that name sounds familiar when it comes with Goten and Trunks.
Gotenks: (smugly) Surprised?
Blossom: Hold on... The boy that beat up those criminals in that village had blond hair, didn't he?
Gotenks: Oh, you mean... (he turned into Super Saiyan) …THIS!?
Bubbles: (she pointed at Gotenks) THAT'S THE ONE!
Butterfly: (stunned) Holy ladybugs, it's him…
Gotenks: That's right! The one and only Gotenks, baby! And in case you're wondering, since I'm the fusion of Goten and Trunks, I can run way faster now!
Buttercup: Hey, that's not fair! We could barely even get close to you when you were apart!
Gotenks walked up to Buttercup and looks down on her smugly.
Gotenks: (smugly) Aw yeah? Well, what are you gonna do about it, cupcake?
Buttercup: (eyes widen, insulted) What...? Did you just call me 'cupcake'?
Gotenks: (baby talk) D'awww, did I hurt your feewings?
Buttercup lunges at Gotenks, but the fused boy dodged out of the way in an instant.
Butterfly: Did you see that!?
Blossom: He just dodged in the blink of an eye!
Bubbles: That's insane! We'll never keep up with THAT!
Gotenks: (singsong) Missed me! Missed me! Now you gotta kiss me... (shouted) …CUPCAKE!
This makes Buttercup even more angry at Gotenks as she tries lunging at him again and again, but Gotenks dodges every single attempt.
Buttercup: (lunges) Don't…
Gotenks: (dodges) Whoops!
Buttercup: (lunges) ...call me…
Gotenks: (dodges) Nuh-uh!
Buttercup: (lunges) …CUPCAKE!
Gotenks: (dodges) Nice try!
The Z-Fighters continued watching from the entrance and started to become a little concerned about Gotenks' childish methods of motivating the Girls.
Krillin: (nervously) Whoa... Who'd have thought a game of tag would turn ugly so fast!?
Gohan: Looks like he's taking this whole motivation thing a little too far.
Tien: (concerned) Come on, Goku! You've got to call them off!
Goku: I don't think so, Tien. I wanna see what happens next.
Chiaotzu: But, Goku…
Goku: Stay with me on this, guys. I wanna see what those Girls can REALLY do.
Eventually, the Girls ran out of steam again and Gotenks mocks them for being too sluggish.
Gotenks: What's the matter, losers!? Too crazy fast for ya!? (mocking laughter)
Buttercup: (panting, enraged) NOBODY... CALLS ME... CUPCAAAAAKE!
In her rage, Buttercup releases a powerful burst of energy that sends a howling blast of wind throughout the chamber that blows the other girls back and buffets the Z-Fighters.
Girls (except Buttercup): (they got blown back) WHOA!
The wind is so strong that it blows Chiaotzu away, but Tien saves him.
Chiaotzu: (he gets blown away) UWAH! Help me!
Tien: CHIAOTZU! (he grabs Chiaotzu by the arm)
Chiaotzu: Thanks, Tien!
Eventually, Buttercup finishes powering up and the other Girls see their chance to restrain her.
Blossom: Hold her down!
Buttercup is just about to lash out against Gotenks until the other Girls try to restrain her until she settles down.
Buttercup: (she's being hold by Bubbles and Butterfly) Hey! Let go of me! (her mouth is covered by Bubbles and Butterfly)
Blossom convinced the other Girls to work together in order to tag Gotenks.
Blossom: Girls, if we really want to tag Gotenks, we'll have to work together!
Buttercup: (muffled) And just how are we supposed to do that, boss!? We can barely even move around in this dump, remember!?
Butterfly: Actually, I'm starting to feel a lot lighter since we came in here.
Buttercup: (muffled) Huh?
Bubbles: Me too! Guess chasing those boys around must've been good exercise after all!
Bouquet: You're right, Bubbles! I'm not heavy anymore! I'm feeling light as a feather!
Butterfly: And all that yummy fried rice must've helped too!
Blossom: That's great, Girls, but if we're gonna tag that little punk, we're gonna have to try a more coordinated approach.
Buttercup: (she gets back up, sarcastically) Oooh, this oughta be good.
Blossom: Okay, here's what we've gotta do...
The Girls huddled together and whispered a new strategy as Gotenks watches, trying to figure out what they are saying.
Gotenks: Umm... What are you guys talking about? (smugly) Don't tell me you're thinking of calling it quits already! We're just getting started!
Buttercup: (she turned to Gotenks and grinned) Actually, so are we!
Blossom: Okay, Girls. Go for it!
The Girls started zipping all around Gotenks at tremendous speed. When one lunges at him, he dodges out of the way, but then another stands where he dodges. This new strategy started to make Gotenks nervous.
Gotenks: (he looks left and right) Okay, what are those Girls up to this time?
Bubbles: (she lunges to the right of Gotenks) Peek-a-boo!
Gotenks: (dodges to the rear) Yikes!
Butterfly: (she appeared behind Gotenks) Behind you!
Gotenks: (he looks back in shock) UWAH!
Butterfly finally managed to tag Gotenks from behind, executing Blossom's plan flawlessly.
Butterfly: I got him! I got him!
Bubbles: Way to go, Butterfly!
Gotenks: Tch! It's not over yet! The rest of you still have to tag me too!
Gotenks started running around the chamber at lightning speed and the Girls keep an even pace until they all become blurs in the eyes of the spectators. They keep zooming around the chamber until Gotenks eventually starts running out of steam himself and gets tagged by the other Girls, one by one.
Bouquet: Tag!
Gotenks: Gah!
Bubbles: You're it!
Gotenks: Agggh! No good!
Blossom: Gotcha!
Gotenks: ACK! (growled) Now I'm REALLY mad!
Buttercup: (from above) Heads up!
Gotenks: (he looks up) Huh?
Buttercup pins Gotenks with such extreme force that it creates a shockwave that resonates throughout the chamber. In the aftermath, Gotenks lies stunned in a crater, while Buttercup towers over him triumphantly.
Buttercup: (chuckled) NOW who's the cupcake?
Gotenks: (humiliated grumble) You win...
The Girls started celebrating and jumping for joy after finally tagging Gotenks and completing the first training exercise.
Butterfly: (she jumped with joy) We did it! We did it!
Blossom: We really DID do it!
Bubbles: Guess that was pretty fun after all!
Bouquet: (she does some backflips) And it really paid off!
Buttercup: (she joins them) Are we awesome or what?
Goku walked towards the Girls and Gotenks as he clapped his hands.
Goku: (chuckled) Heh, heh, heh. Well done, Girls! You've passed that training exercise with flying colors!
Buttercup: (proudly) Tell me about it! Did you see how I tagged that boy from above!?
Goku: I sure did! Although, I did also see a little drawback there.
Buttercup: Huh? A drawback? What kind?
Piccolo: (he walked up to Buttercup) You lost your cool in the middle of that exercise. You need to keep your emotions under control, or they'll just slow you down.
Buttercup: Hey, I couldn't help it! That little punk was mocking us! He kept calling me 'cupcake' and I really hate that!
Piccolo: All the more reason to keep your temper on a leash, regardless of how obnoxious or malicious your opponent is. If you don't, you'll be left wide open for your opponent to finish you off.
Buttercup: (stunned) That part I missed.
Bubbles: (she raises her hand) Um... Does complacency count as an emotion too?
Goku: U-Umm... Tell you what Girls, Piccolo, here will give the boys an earful if it makes you feel any better. They did after all, go a little overboard with all that taunting.
Piccolo: (chuckled) Thought you'd never ask. They were starting get on my nerves too.
Goku: Girls, me and the others are going to see if we can figure out the next training exercise, while you do some meditation. That usually helps to keep my composure.
So the Girls meditate in the open chamber for the next half hour, undisturbed by Piccolo punishing the boys in the distance until Goku and the others come up to them again. This time, Goku is carrying a mallet in his hand.
Goku: Hey, Girls! It's time for the next training exercise!
The Girls come out of their meditative trance and feel more relaxed than before.
Butterfly: Gee, doing some meditation really soothes your mind, doesn't it?
Bubbles: Yeah. Makes you more focused too.
Goku: Glad to hear it, because this next exercise is gonna be even more fun! (he presents the mallet) Tada!
Bubbles: Whoa!
Blossom: A mallet?
Buttercup: A BIG one!
Bouquet: What's it for?
Butterfly: Oooh! I know! I know! Is it a game of Whack-a-Mole!?
Goku: No, not a mole. (he points to Chiaotzu) Chiaotzu.
Chiaotzu: (nervously whined) Why me…?
Tien: Come on, Chiaotzu. You've got the hardest head out of everyone in this dimension.
Krillin: Take it for me. I learned that the hard way.
Krillin has a brief flashback of the 22nd World Martial Arts Tournament, when he tried to butt heads with Chiaotzu's but the latter's head proves too hard for him.
Blossom interrupts the flashback, asking what the next training exercise is.
Blossom: Um... Are we missing something here? What IS this next exercise?
Goku: Oh! Right! All you have to do for this one is use this mallet here to give Chiaotzu a little tap on the head.
Chiaotzu: Yep. (he takes off his hat revealing his scalp and pats it) Right here.
Bubbles is grossed out by Chiaotzu's scalp and the single hair on his head.
Bubbles: (disgusted) Ewww…
Butterfly: Huh. Sounds easy enough. I'm game!
Goku: Okay! Here you go!
Goku throws the mallet over to Butterfly and she catches it, but she instantly realizes how heavy it is as she drops to the ground with it.
Butterfly: Ooooh... This thing's really... heavy.
Bouquet: Whoa…
Blossom: You sure you're not overdoing it, Goku?
Buttercup: Yeah! You can give that poor boy a concussion with something that heavy.
Goku: Oh, don't worry. Chiaotzu's head is as hard as a cannonball. You can hit him as hard as you like and he won't get so much as a headache.
Krillin: (nervously) But uh... please try to go easy on him, okay?
Tien: (chuckled) Because he sure won't make it easy on you.
Hearing all that helps to build up Chiaotzu's confidence and he accepts the challenge with a smile on his face.
Chiaotzu: (to the Girls) Ready when you are!
Bubbles: Yay! Let's do it! (she turned to Butterfly) What about you, Butterfly?
Butterfly: (she struggles to pick up the mallet) Urgh! Yeah, I'm ready to go…!
Butterfly mustered all of her strength to get a good hold on the mallet.
Butterfly: Arrrrgh! Game on!
Chiaotzu: Okay! Here goes!
Chiaotzu charged at Butterfly in a rapid speed and she tries to whack him, but has a hard time trying to swing the mallet.
Butterfly: Urgh...! How do you use this mallet…!?
Chiaotzu charged at Butterfly again and she swings the mallet once more, but misses again.
Butterfly: (panting)
As Butterfly feels the pangs of exhaustion, Chiaotzu comes at her one last time. Butterfly is just about to hit him until Chiaotzu pushes her away with a blast of his telekinesis.
Butterfly: (being pushed by Chiaotzu's telekinesis) WHOA! (she gets up, feeling stunned) Y-Y-You have telekinetic powers too!?
Chiaotzu replies with a grimace and flies off.
Chiaotzu: BYE!
Buttercup: Why that little... Go swat him, Butterfly!
Butterfly: (exhausted) I'm trying... But... I don't think I can... I'm all swung out...
Goku: Come on, Girls! You can do it!
Blossom: We may have to take turns if we are to tap that boy.
Butterfly: Whew... That's a little weight off my shoulders.
The Girls take turns in wielding the mallet and trying to hit Chiaotzu with it time and time again, but the small warrior proves too fast and tricky for them and they grow more and more exhausted with every attempt.
Buttercup: Man, he's fast. There's no way we can catch him.
Chiaotzu: (he pointed to the Girls) Slowpokes!
Bubbles: Wh... What was that!?
Chiaotzu: SLOWPOKES!
Bubbles: Ohhh, NOW you're asking for it! (she takes the mallet)
Goku: BREAK TIME!
Bubbles: Awww! Do we have to?
Goku: Well, look at it this way, Bubbles. The last thing we want is for you Girls to overwork yourselves.
Bubbles: (growled) Scratch that! I'm gonna give that little pipsqueak one more shot!
Goku: Hmmm... If you say so. Just one more swing, okay?
Bubbles started backing away from Chiaotzu with the mallet in her hands, as she gets ready to deliver one last swing.
Bubbles: Come at me, you little... EGGHEAD!
Chiaotzu: Okay... HERE I GOOOOOOO!
In slow motion, Chiaotzu charged at Bubbles in a break neck speed while she predicts his movements, swings the mallet with all her might and whacks him with extreme force, sending him flying back into the building.
Bubbles: (swings) HYAAAAAAAAH!
Chiaotzu: (he noticed the mallet too late) Aaaaaah! (he gets clobbered) AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGGGGGGHHH!
Goten/Trunks: Uwah! (they dodged out of the way)
Chiaotzu crashes into the wall and falls to the floor all grazed and disoriented, leaving the Z-Fighters shocked and Tien horrified.
Chiaotzu: (he hits the wall) GUUUUH! (dropped to the floor) Ooof…
Tien: CHIAOTZU! (he runs up to Chiaotzu to make sure he's alright) Chiaotzu... (he kneeled down) Are you okay? Speak to me!
Chiaotzu: (groaned) I'm okay, Tien... (he shook his head) Owie...
Bubbles: Oops…
Blossom: Bubbles! You hit him too hard!
Goku: I'll say! You really clobbered him!
Bubbles: (cries) S-S-SORRY!
Goku: Hey, it was only a little accident. You weren't really gonna give him a skull fracture, but he may be out of commission for a bit, so now might be a good time to take a break.
Blossom: Good idea.
Butterfly: Awww...
Buttercup: Way to go, Bubbs. No more fried rice for you today.
Bouquet: (she flew besides Buttercup) Hey, Buttercup. Like Goku said, it was just an accident.
Bubbles: (sighed and flies after the others)
The Girls have their break from swinging the mallet and Chiaotzu has time to recover from his headache.
When break time ends, the Girls stepped back out into the open chamber, while Butterfly has the mallet in her hands and Chiaotzu joins them as he cleans his scalp with a towel after making a full recovery.
Blossom: (she noticed Chiaotzu) Oh! Looks like Chiaotzu's made a full recovery.
Chiaotzu finishes cleaning his scalp and it makes a dazzling gleam.
Chiaotzu: Yes, I have.
Blossom: Okay, Girls. Let's get back to training, but this time, we'll have to give him just a little controlled tap with the mallet.
Buttercup: Yeah and not an out-of-control wallop... (she looked at Bubbles) ...like last time.
Bubbles: (she looked back at Buttercup, grumbled)
Bouquet: (nodded) Yeah, we'll go easy on him.
Butterfly: But not so easy that he outflies us.
Bubbles: And for the record, that whack I gave you only counts as a practice one. This time, we're doing it for real!
Chiaotzu: (he waved at the Girls) Okay! Are you Girls ready for round two?
Butterfly: (determined) You bet we are!
Chiaotzu: Okay! Catch me if you can! (he takes off)
Goku and the rest of the Z-Fighters watched as the Girls are going for round two with Chiaotzu.
Krillin: There they go again.
The Girls chased Chiaotzu at an even greater speed and try out a new strategy in which they pass the mallet between each other in order to confuse him.
Chiaotzu: Wuh-oh…
Tien: Hang in there, Chiaotzu!
Eventually, the Girls' strategy started to take its tole on Chiaotzu as he becomes disoriented and dizzy after watching the mallet getting passed between the Girls so rapidly.
Chiaotzu: (swirly eyed) I'm getting dizzy...
Blossom: Now, Butterfly! (she passes the mallet to Butterfly)
Butterfly: Got it, Blossom! (she catches the mallet)
Butterfly gives Chiaotzu a small tap on the head with the mallet.
Butterfly: Tap!
Chiaotzu: (shrieked) Uwaaaaaaa!
Butterfly: I got him!
Blossom: Great! Don't get cocky, Girls!
Chiaotzu: N-No! STAY AWAY! (he flies off)
Butterfly: Go long, Buttercup! (she throws the mallet forward)
The mallet flies forwards, only just missing Chiaotzu until Buttercup appeared in front of him and catches it.
Buttercup: GOTCHA!
Chiaotzu lets out a scream and brakes to a halt, but he does not stop in time as Buttercup taps him.
Buttercup: Who's slow NOW?
Chiaotzu started flying upward and Buttercup tosses the mallet high into the air.
Buttercup: Goin' up! (she throws the mallet upwards)
In his ascent, Chiaotzu sees the mallet coming at him from below and he pushes it away with his telekinesis.
Bouquet: I got it! (she catches the mallet with her hand)
Bouquet immediately rises up to Chiaotzu's altitude and taps him.
Bouquet: Got him!
Chiaotzu: Stay away from me! (he pushes Bouquet away with his telekinesis)
Bouquet: (being pushed by Chiaotzu's telekinesis) WHOA! (she turned to Blossom) Blossom! (she throws the mallet to Blossom)
Blossom: (she catches the mallet) Got it!
Chiaotzu attempts to outmaneuver Blossom, but she managed to draw level and tap him as well.
Blossom: (she taps Chiaotzu) There!
Chiaotzu: (imperiled whine)
Blossom: Alright, Bubbles! It's all you! (she passes the mallet to Bubbles)
Bubbles catches the mallet but before she can give Chiaotzu a tap, the small warrior uses a telekinetic trick to paralyze Bubbles by making her experience chronic indigestion.
Bubbles: Argh... My stomach... Why did... I eat all that fried rice...!?
Chiaotzu: (snickered)
In her state of agony, Bubbles becomes too weak to hold the mallet as she drops it and it falls to the ground with a boom. The Z-Fighters watched in suspense as Chiaotzu continues to choke Bubbles.
Krillin: This is bad... Looks like Chiaotzu's really laying it on thick this time!
Tien: (he called out to Chiaotzu) Chiaotzu, don't get carried away!
Chiaotzu: No, Tien! There's no way I'm letting her clobber me again!
As Goku watches with a determined look on his face, the other Girls started to panic until Butterfly comes up with a crazy idea.
Butterfly: Hey, Chiaotzu! How about I show you some of my telekinesis? (she pushes Chiaotzu back with a burst of her telekinetic powers)
Chiaotzu: (being pushed by Butterfly's telekinesis) AAAAHHH!
Butterfly: (she appeared from behind) Want some more!?
Butterfly uses her telekinesis again to put Chiaotzu in a bind, making him completely unable to move.
Chiaotzu: (he got restrained) Agh! This is bad!
Bubbles: (recovers, coughed) Thanks... Butterfly.
While Butterfly restrains Chiaotzu with her telekineses, Buttercup flies down and retrieves the mallet for Bubbles.
Buttercup: (she flies up to Bubbles) Go give him a good one, Bubbles! (she gives Bubbles the mallet)
Bubbles flies up to Chiaotzu while Butterfly is keeping him restrained and gets ready to tap him.
Bubbles: Here goes!
Bubbles raises the mallet high, making Chiaotzu think she's going to clobber him again.
Chiaotzu: (terrified screamed)
Chiaotzu soon realizes that Bubbles was only pretending when she gives him a gentle tap on the head instead.
Bubbles: Ding!
Chiaotzu: Huh?
Bubbles: Now that wasn't so bad, was it?
Chiaotzu: Uh... No.
Bubbles: (she turned to the other Girls) We did it, Girls!
Butterfly: (she jumped with joy) YAY!
Buttercup: YEAH! We totally nailed this one! (giggled) See what I did there? Hammer? Nailed?
The Girls giggled at Buttercup's wit until they heard Goku laughing as well from below.
Goku: (laughing hysterically from below) GOOD ONE, BUTTERCUP!
The Girls looked down and saw Goku walking up to them with a proud smile on his face.
Buttercup: Thanks, Goku! Somebody stop me!
The Girls flew down to Goku and he congratulates them.
Goku: Way to go, Girls! Hope you had some fun with those exercises.
Buttercup: Are you kidding? It was a blast!
Butterfly: And WOW! I'm starting to feel so much lighter now!
Bubbles: Yeah! I'm not bothered by this place in one bit!
Goku: AWESOME! I gotta hand it to you girls, you really ARE amazing! You managed to pass those exercises a lot faster than I did. Heck, you even managed to tag a Fusion! And that's no mean feat I can tell you.
Blossom: You really think so?
Goku: Totally!
Bouquet: Wow. That's high praise.
Piccolo: (he walked up to the Girls) Yeah, but try not to let it go to your heads.
Goku: (determined) Piccolo's right. We still have three whole months of training in this dimension and by the time we're finished, we'll be more than ready for when this Collector guy shows up. Are you Girls up for it?
Blossom: (determined) We sure are, Goku.
Girls (except Blossom): (determined) YEAH!
Goku: (he looked back at the Z-Fighters) What about you guys?
Krillin: I'm with you all the way, Goku!
Gohan: Yeah, Dad! Me too!
Tien: You can count me in!
Chiaotzu: Me too!
Trunks: Hey, let me in on it!
Goten: This is gonna be fun!
Goku: Great! (he turned to Piccolo) What about you, Piccolo?
Piccolo: (chuckled) How can I say no to that? As long as we teach that Collector not to mess with Earth.
Goku: Then let's get started.
And so, for the next three months in the Hyperbolic Time Chamber, the Powerpuff Girls trained vigorously with the Z-Fighters as they grew stronger and stronger with every match.
Meanwhile, Jaco spends his six hours on the Lookout playing a handheld game console, while Dende and Mr. Popo are looking up at the night sky for any sign of Zulfer's fortress.
As time passes, Brimstrom looms closer and closer to Earth until the blue planet comes into view and the fortress started closing in.
Zulfer: There it is, the planet Earth, where Goku dwells... (smirked as he chuckled evilly)
