Chapter 2 Exodus
Sam and Miko vs Bandits and Fautai Skirmisher
*I am My Own Master Now-MGR cue*
Sam just casually walks halfway between Miko and the armed bandits then stops. He draws his katana that was cracking with an electrical current then rests it on his shoulder. Miko noticed the strange katana and that it look like no ordinary one. A couple of armed men open fire on Sam. He simply deflected them and charged towards them with insane speed. Sam leaps in the air towards the shooter. *Deflected SFX*
The shooter fires but Sam deflects the shots then cuts the shooter in half from head to toe, then cuts him again from the torso. Sam turns towards the group and grins at them. The group was a little shocked.
"Guess he is only half the man he was." Sam smiled.
"It's just one man with a sword, take him down!"
A couple of armed bandits with swords and daggers sprint towards them. Sam moving faster than them does a vertical slash on one man and horizontal slash on another, their bodies fell( Cross Cut, Slide Swipe). He followed up by kicking another guy hard in the face then turned to another and did a downward slash followed by an upper slash, (Front kick, Tailwind)then rested his katana on his shoulder and took a few steps backwards. Miko was watching from a distance and was a little impressed. A couple of bandits tried to ambush her while she was watching Sam but she gracefully dodge their attacks and struck them with a barrage of lightning. A few more guys came at her. Miko's eyes glowed pink and she blitzed past them and left a stronger charge of lightning and the bandits fell to the floor. Miko turned her attention back to Sam as she crossed her arms and rested her face in her palm with an amused smile.
The Vanguard, getting irritated with his men, made an appearance with his electro infused war hammer.
"I'll end this quickly." He commented and charged in.
Sam took a stance, holding his katana in one hand up to his face. The Vanguard goes strike but Sam parried it followed by a hard kick to the face that left the Vanguard stunned for a bit. Sam delivered multiple strikes from different angle then finished with a quick draw strike that knocked the Vanguard off his feet spinning to the ground.
"Ha, walked into that one!" Sam shouts.
The Vanguard gets back up looking a little dazed. He goes on the offense again, this time Sam just dodge the attack. The Vanguard goes for a few more swings but they don't connect. After the third swing missed, Sam was glowing while charging his sword and dashed forward delivery multiple slashes at blinding speed. (Charging Slash).
"Amateur!"
Sam was about to deliver a final blow when he was stopped by Miko.
"Wait! I have questions for this one." Miko shouts.
Sam stopped and looked at Miko and then back at the downed Vanguard. He wipes the blood off his sword in a samurai fashion and sheaths it.
"You're the boss." Sam says nonchalantly and takes a seat off to the side and lets Miko begin her questioning.
A few minutes go by and the Vanguard has not answered any of Miko's questions.
"Who do you work for?" Miko electrocutes him.
*Electrocute SFX*
"How many operatives do you have?" Miko electrocutes him again.
*Electrocute SFX*
"Alright! Alright! I'll talk, just stop!" The Vanguard cried.
"Good boy." Miko slightly smiled
Miko electrocuted enough to not kill but enough to make him talk. Sam was watching and waiting patiently. While sitting down he felt a familiar presence moving quickly towards Miko while she was not looking. It was the other adventurer but he was dressed very differently from before. (Fatui Ameno boxer attire). Sam, wasting no time, moves in to intercept him.
Sam's attack barely missed the other adventurer and he regained his footing and grabbed his downed comrade.
"Mind if I cut in?" Sam chuckled
"So you finally reveal yourself and come out of your hole." Miko commented.
"My men were taking too long with the capture and now I see why." The Boxer replied.
"Your friend wasn't very helpful in answering my questions but perhaps you can." Miko glared at him
"Ha! If you couldn't get him to answer, what makes you think you will get answers from me?"
"Is that so? Then I'll just have to change my approach." Miko replied and fired a lighting bolt at the Vanguard. The Boxer with amazing speed blocks Miko's attack with an Ameno shield. The same time after the attack was blocked, a strong wind pulled Sam and Miko in. The Boxer delivered a powerful counter punch that sent them both flying but Sam covered Miko and took most of the hit.
"Ara, you dare lay a hand on a shrine maiden?" Miko teasing Sam
"It would be very bad if something happened to you under my care. Do try to play nicely now." Sam lightly laughs.
They were sent flying back into a tree with Sam regaining his footing off the tree while still carrying Miko. Sam shakes off the attack and is back on his feet.
"This fight is just getting started!" Sam chuckled.
Miko dusted herself off then noticed that the Electro Vanguard was back on his feet.
"Minuano, the Vanguard has recovered already!"
"That so? He is back on his feet and ready for round two."
"Looks like he recovered while we were blown away." Miko points out.
"Is that vision energy they are using?" Sam asked Miko
"He does not have a Vision, but he is able to manipulate Anemo energy with those gloves. Be careful."
"Interesting." Sam replied with a smile.
"There won't be anyone getting in the way this time Minuano!" Ameno Boxer shouts.
Sam taunts his opponents to come at him. The Vanguard and Boxer powered up and charged towards Sam. The Vanguard goes for a powerful smash attack with electro infused in his attack. Sam however, moved and delivered a strong slash attack that pushed the Vanguard back in several meters. The Boxer looked to ambush Sam from behind but he parried the Boxer strike and delivered a powerful kick to the head.
"Ha! Wide open!" Sam shouts.
The Boxer dazed for a bit after receiving the attack. Sam powered up and delivered a powerful slash attack destroying the Boxer's armor. Sam turned his attention to the Vanguard. The Vanguard comes in swinging his war hammer but Sam dodge and blocks the attack. Miko delivered a barrage of lighting attacks at the Electro Vanguard, however due to him powering up his armor the attack was not as effective. The Vanguard moves in to attack Miko this time but she gracefully dodges leaving behind a lighting attack. Miko then fires another barrage of lighting but the boxer intercepts again and prepares to counter attack. Miko moves out of range this time and Sam jumps in looking for this opportunity. The Boxer delivered his powerful strike that sent Sam flying back but this time Sam was ready and blocked the attack. Sam regains his balance as he lands on the trunk of a tree and jumps towards the Boxer. While flying through the air Sam was glowing and had his katana in a modified quick draw stance. When he was within range he delivered two quick and powerful strikes sending the Boxer flying backwards. Sam spins his katana back into his sheath.
Miko has just taken care of the Electro Vanguard and retrieved the information needed from him.
"I see you have finished. Shall we be on our way?" Miko is ready to go.
"Hmm? Taking a detour?" Sam asked.
"Of course. There is one spot I would stop by before heading back to the shrine. It's not everyday I get to go out."
"Lead the way."
"You're not opposed to the detour?"
"Who knows, something interesting could happen."
"You know for a samurai you're pretty carefree." Miko finds Sam's behavior unusual for a samurai. Sam smiles and strokes his chin while smiling.
"Well if you say it like that." Sam just chuckled and stroked his chin while smiling.
Sam and Miko headed to the northside of the island. The area that they came to had a few tall hills around the area. Sam looks around the area as Miko was leading them. Sam was expecting some type of resistance while entering the area. They came to an area that had some ruins. They walked up the stairs and found a barrier and a group of people in the opening behind the barrier. Miko went to the barrier while Sam kept a lookout.
"Lady Yae!" Nana and Maki shout.
"Nana! Maki! It's good to see you both are well."
"Lady Yae, how did you find us?" Maki asked.
"I happened to come across someone who knew your whereabouts. We will talk more after we get you all out of here"
"Lady Yae, it's not safe here." Nana points out.
"Oh don't worry, I hired a very capable adventurer." Miko smiled.
"I don't recall there being such an adventurer." Nana ponders.
A group of four strange looking machines roam around spotted Sam and Miko attempting to free the abducted people. One of the machines changed its positions and began to power up and fired a small but powerful laser beam. Sam was able to dodge.
"Hmm, no talking robot dog this time." Sam smirks.
He wasn't expecting to see this kind of firepower in Inazuma. Miko heads over to Sam to see what fire the laser beam.
"Lady Yae, we have company, I suggest you take your girl-talk somewhere else." As he drew his sword.
"How dare you talk to Lady Yae like that!" Nana shouts at Sam.
"It's alright. He is right about the setting. First thing is to get everyone out of here."
Sam kept the strange machines distracted while Miko worked on the barrier. A short time later the sound of machines went silent and the barrier went down. Sam meets up with Miko and the others.
"I see you had no issues on your end." Miko commented.
"All in a day's work. Shall we wrap this party up." Sam chuckled and walked past Miko.
Miko looked at the scene of the destroyed machines and then at Sam who was walking in front of the group of people. Miko has not seen something like this before and she doubts anyone else has seen something like this. Unless you're one of the gods or something else that has been around for awhile. Miko made her way to Sam giving a small smirk. Miko had several questions for Sam and she will find a way to acquire those answers. Everyone headed toward the exit of the area when suddenly a large machine (Ruin Guards) dropped in front of them blocking off there exit. Everyone panicked and got behind Miko who was standing tall and unafraid.
"It's alright this will be over shortly." Sam reassured them while looking back.
Soon after he said that, four more robots dropped in.
"Will this still be over shortly?" Miko smirked at Sam.
Sam just smirks at Miko's comment. The people behind Miko were chattering and wondered if this samurai was seriously going to fight the machines and that he had no hope against them.
Sam vs Ruin Guards
*Stains of Time- MGR cue*
The Ruin Guards were slowly walking towards him. Sam was analyzing and forming his plan of attack. The Ruin Guards were in a line formation, four in the front and one in the back. Sam drew his sword and blitzed his way in. The robots assume a strange stance and began to target Sam. They fired their missiles however Sam dodged them and jumped over the front line. After he jumped over them, Sam was glowing briefly then explosively spins down cutting open the robot in front of him(Avalanche), exposing its core. The Guardians behind Sam attempted to punch Sam but they missed. After Sam dodge one, he powers up (Charge Slash) and slices open and exposes another core. One robot attempts to crush Sam by jumping on him while he wasn't looking but Sam rolls out the way and cut the robot's ankles causing it to fall on its back. Sam wasted no time and stabbed its core, then ripped it out and destroyed it.
The people were shocked at how Sam defeated one of the robots with no trouble. Miko continues to observe Sam as he battles the remaining robots. One robot began to rotate its upper body 360 degrees and walked towards it. Sam just lightly laughs and leaps in on the offense. He timed his attack so perfectly that he pierced its core and pulled it out and destroyed it. Sam turns arounds and finds another robot charging in throwing punches. Sam dodged the first punch and the robot followed up with another punch but Sam parried the attack and delivered a powerful kick to its core. The robot falls backwards trying to reboot itself. *Zandatsu Mode SFX* Sam cut up the robot enough to expose its core and used his sword to stab and grab it. Sam leaps towards the other two and stabs and grabs their core and then destroys them. Sam spin sheaths his swords and then begins to walk back towards Miko and the others. Sam continued to head back to Miko and the others when he heard a loud noise behind him. When Sam turned around and a large boulder was sent flying his way.
*Zandatsu Mode SFX* Sam, wasting no time, cuts the boulder up and another one appears behind it. Sam cuts the second one up and shortly after he cut it up a larger robot (Ruin Grader) appears with its fists already cock back. Sam blocked the punch however he was flying back. Miko watches Sam get sent flying back and then directs her attention back at this strange and larger machine. It fired off strange spheres of energy. Miko created a barrier to protect the defenseless people. The energy sphere exploded but the barrier was holding. The robot continues shooting the spheres followed by energy beams.
"Tsk, what a pain. The barrier will hold however, we are sitting ducks here." Miko thought to herself while maintaining the barrier.
The Ruin Grader switched tactics and began punching the barrier. This is exactly what Miko was concerned about happening. The robot prepared its next attack when suddenly a colorful flash came from behind Miko and a flash of lightning flew past her and cut the arm off. Sam appeared in front of Miko with his sword already drawn. Miko was still maintaining the barrier, was curious as to what exactly she was seeing.
"Has he awakened a Vision despite not wanting one." Miko thought to herself.
Sam taunted the machine to come at him. The machine came charging in and at the same time Sam sheathed his sword. The large machine was closing in on Sam and the group. A small Electro and Ameno aura appear around Sam and he unleashes an attack. There was a silence for a moment and Sam spin sheath sword. After he sheathed his sword, the machine split in half and then blew up. Sam casually walks back to Miko and the group.
"All finish here, shall we be on our way." Sam commented.
"Looks like you got the crowd all hyped up." Miko replied.
"Hmm?"
Sam looked behind Miko and saw the group engage in chatter. The reason being is that a new Electro Vision wielder has awakened. Sam, not paying too much attention to the crowd, walks off with Miko. They got to Kondo village and made arrangements for the missing group to be escorted back by the guards and from there Miko, Sam and the two missing shrine maidens returned to the shrine on top of the mountain.
Grand Narukami Shrine
The group made it back to the shrine without any further issues. Nana and Maki are greeted by their fellow shrine maidens for their safe return. Sam and Miko were by the entrance watching the happy reunion.
"Looks like my work here is done. Lady Yae, it's been fun. I'll see you around." Sam said his farewells and began to walk off.
"Wait just a moment Minuano."
"Hmm?"
"Those things out there, have you fought them before?"
"No I haven't. This was my first time seeing something like that."
"Compared to where I'm from, those machines would be similar to the Gekko, but much older. The other ones look really weird but have firepower close to where I'm from. Has this place always had these kinds of machines? This place is full of mysteries." Sam thought to himself.
"Oh, your first time seeing them? You didn't fight like it was your first time. Hmm."
"Perhaps he has encountered something similar to the ones we ran into today. That would make him the better choice to battle against them if we were to encounter them again. It would be wise not to let this man go and keep a close eye on him. Not to mention he somehow used elemental energy without a vision."
"Lady Yae?"
"Hmm? Your services are still needed."
"If you have another request, just send it to the guild." Sam continues to walk off but Miko gracefully appears in front of Sam. Sam is curious at how she moves so quickly.
"You see, when you took this job you also signed a contract stating you would help handle some of the Shrine affairs."
"Sorry, I don't recall seeing that in the letter I received from you."
"Oh this one that has your thumb print right here. It is also in the terms." Miko smiled.
The terms were indeed there, however very small, in addition Miko did use a little magic to conceal that section. Sam looks at the letter and the terms.
"Well I'll be damned. What happens if I refuse?"
"Life in Inazuma would become more difficult for you."
"Is that so? Why me? You could have picked anyone else?"
"That's just it, there isn't anyone as capable as you around. Not to mention, someone who manipulates elemental energy without a vision and one being electro."
"This Electro, is it rare to see an electro wielder.
"There hasn't been one in 500 years here in Inazuma."
"Guess I got lucky."
"I wouldn't say lucky. After recent events, I feel there will be a great change in Inazuma and maybe the rest of Teyvat. A change that you may play a part in."
"Is that so. Sorry but I'm not much for higher calling."
"Minuano, are you a threat to Eternity?"
"What if I am?"
"Then you must be dealt with appropriately."
"Do you have orders to kill me?"
"I mentioned deal with."
"I can assure you Lady Yae, I'm no threat to this Eternity you speak of. I know nothing of this Eternity you speak about. I'm not here for the world, I'm here for myself."
"Well, in that case, I don't see you as a threat to Eternity then, however I still require your services."
"*Lightly chuckles* After all that, you still want me to help you?"
"Like I mentioned before, strange events recently taking place and no explanation. You being an adventurer and backed by me, no one can question what you're doing other than the Shogun."
"What's in it for you? Why go through such lengths?"
"I'm a servant and envoy for Eternity and our archon. I'm also helping a friend."
"Friend? That's a word I've not heard in a long time. Well it's not like I got anything else going one. I wonder what kind of opponents I'll come across?" Crossing his arms and holding his chin.
"Have you come to a decision?" Miko asked.
"I'll take you up on that offer." Sam replied.
"Oh, I'm glad we could reach an understanding. I'm looking forward to working with you. I'll prepare something for you in the meantime, come back in a few days."
"Perfect. I have a few things to take care of during those days."
The two parted ways and during that time Sam would try to get more familiar with his use of the elemental energy and find some use for it in combat. During the time away, Sam was honing his use for the two elemental energies he has now, the Ameno and Electro. The Ameno worked very well with movements and a few attacks while the Electro worked very well with attacking. After a few days, Sam would meet up with Miko. She gave him a Sakura -looking badge that indicates he represents the Gujju and people must cooperate when conducting business related to the shrine. She also gave him a talisman that will allow him to communicate with her from a long distance. Miko also gave him a demonic looking mask in the event he needed to conceal himself.
"The first thing I need you to do is investigate the people who came back and see what they have in common with the kidnappings. The second task is to find more of the missing people. We'll start there. Are you ready, my little helper?"
"Lady Yae?"
"That's a nice expression. Report anything useful. I expect great things from you Minuano." Miko smiled at Sam.
Sam took off and began his investigation.
A few months later..
Over the next few months, Sam tracked down two more groups of missing people and took out many Nobushi that helped the mysterious group kidnap them. The thing the kidnappings had in common is that a few of the missing people had just recently awakened a vision. The ones who had a vision were still missing while the others who didn't have a vision were returned. The mysterious machine came from ancient civilizations that no longer exist. Sam was also becoming more in sync with elemental energy use and found meditation and physical training help as well.
Grand Narukami Shrine, a few days before the invasion.
Sam and Miko were walking around the shrine and Sam gave his report on his findings.
"That concludes the findings." Sam informed Miko.
"The kidnapping continues, but only the one with visions have not been found. The hideouts are becoming harder to find. They know someone is on to them and they still continue with the kidnappings."
"Could the kidnapping have another purpose?" Sam asked.
"It's hard to say without anything concrete, however it's still a possibility nonetheless." Miko replied.
"Perhaps we can find some clues at some of the places we have already visited."
"It wouldn't hurt, given that we have nothing to search for around here."
"I will take my leave and see what I can find."
"There have been diplomatic talks with a group called the Fauti lately, something about them doesn't feel right."
"Shall I look into them as well?"
"No need, I have someone else looking into them. I will be meeting them later on."
"Alright then."
"How are you adjusting to your new abilities?"
"It's coming along."
"Glad to hear. I hope to see something interesting later. I have high hopes for you Sam."
"Lady Yae, you're too kind."
"Your work is praise worthy, it was the right call to hire you."
"That seems to be the case. If nothing else, I'll take my leave."
Sam headed north to the ruins area where everything started. Miko would meet up with her informant. The diplomatic talks with the Shogun continue. The approaching danger draws near from outside and within.
Sam Dreaming
Later that night while Sam was resting, he would encounter the woman with long violet hair again. The dream took him to the center of the Shogun's castle. The Sakura tree leaves were falling and there was no one else around. The clouds began to darken and rain began to fall. *Girei-Naruto Shippuden theme cue* Sam was checking out the scenery when suddenly he felt the gaze of someone looking down on him from afar. He looked around and saw no one around. There was a flash of lighting coming from behind the castle. Sam slowly turned around and looked to the roof and saw someone with violet eyes glowing staring at him. There was another flash of lighting and now the person was standing several feet in front of him. The mighty Shogan stood in front of him. She had no expression on her face and she just stared at him as if she was ready to kill him. Sam was not fazed by her gaze and was looking at her from the side.
"Are you an enemy to Eternity?" The Shogan asked him. A question Miko asked him not too long ago.
"No." Sam replied.
Afterwards Sam briefly woke up.
"Maybe I should cut back on the Sake before bed." Sam joked and went back to sleep.
The Ruins
Sam heads to the ruins at the northern end of the island. Just like when he came here before there wasn't much of anything there. He proceeds to head further in the area. He came across a few Sacred Sakura trees fragments scattered around. Miko mentions the Sacred Sakura blossom contains fragments of divine power and if he comes across them, to pick them up. Sam came across a man-hole that leads underground somewhere. He enters the hole and proceeds down into the tunnels. The area had low visibility but enough to see ahead a couple of feet. After traveling down the tunnels he came to a large opening and it was occupied by an unknown party. Sam makes his way down to search for any information that will be useful. While searching he came across an area that was used for briefing. The wall contains notes, photos, along with a list of names, and a map of the island, locations of other areas and operations. The southern end had a circle and a drawing on it. The picture was of the woman he saw in his dreams previously. Sam also recognizes a few of the areas, the one that he has previously attacked.
"They really did have other hideouts within the island. In addition to the list of names, they have been planning for some time right under everyone's nose." Sam observing the map.
Sam takes the map and continues to look around. He came across a couple of large cages that contained something. Sam hears some voices approaching and takes cover behind some boxes. Two Fauti henchmen that were on guard, walked by.
"Man this sucks! Just because we are new recruits we can't take part in the big operation today."
"Stop complaining, there will be other opportunities. Once we are done here we will move on to other places."
"You're right, by that time someone else will be stuck on watch."
The two henchmen continue their conversation down the hall. Sam checked the area to see if anyone was nearby. He pulls out the talisman to contact Miko.
"Lady Yae, this is Sam."
There was no answer and Sam attempted one more time and there was still no answer.
"Something is not right, best to head back and see what's going one."
After Sam puts away the talisman and heads to the surface. Once he was at the surface, he made his way out of the area. Once he exited the area, he saw the Inazuma city under attack and a large barrier surrounding the castle. Sam puts on his demonic mask given to him by Miko. Channeling his Ameno energy and the natural energy around him, the Sakura leaves swirled around him. The next moment takes off like the wind and heads towards the castle. Moments before reaching the city Sam received a message from his talisman.
"Rescue the Shogun and head to the docks in Ritou.'' The voice came from someone Sam didn't recognize.
Sam didn't have time to think too much on the matter. He simply hurried in to complete his task.
Throne room Present day
Sam had made it just in time, however they had company. Sam took a quick glance at the Shogun and then turned his attention to the enemy in front of them. There was no time to mess around like he usually does. The remaining Nobushi didn't know who he was but they were gonna kill him for aligning with the Shogun. Sam took a few steps in front of Shogan and prepared for battle. The first Nobushi charged in and Sam quickly draws his sword *HFB slash SFX* and cuts him at an upper angle from waist to shoulder. The next Nobushi comes in and Sam slashes*HFB slash SFX* at a downward angle. The last one comes charging in and Sam cuts his *HFB slash SFX* throat open. They were all dead and the only ones left were Shogan and Sam. Sam slashes the blood off his swords and spin sheaths his sword *Gshin*. Sam partially turns and faces Shogun, who has her sword pointed at him and holding her wound.
"The prince finally reaches the castle. Time to escort you out of here." Sam informed Shogan.
"No. I must stay and take Inazuma back." Shogun replied while still pointing her sword.
"You and what army?"
"I don't need an army."
"Okay, but you won't be taking anything back with those kinds of injuries."
"I just need time to recover."
"Unfortunately, your enemies won't wait for you to recover and they are still some outside."
"I am the…" Before she could finish she remembered that Sara and the people no longer needed her protection and she had been betrayed. So how does she know that Sam won't do the same. Shogun gave Sam a cold stare.
"Why should you be trusted? Will you betray the Shogan as well?" Shogun glared at Sam.
Sam looked at her and had a feeling something else had happened that he was not aware of. Whatever that is, he needs to get her out of here and figure out the next move.
"Look, I don't know what happened before I got here but if I have been sent here to get you out of here. Whatever happened before, won't be solved if you're dead, so escape to fight another day."
Shogun did not sense any lies in his words, lowered her sword and decided to follow him. She still doesn't know who he is and he doesn't seem to know who she is. Shogan was about to say something but she stopped for a moment as she was receiving a message from someone.
"You make a valid point. We shall depart this place at once but before that tell me one thing."
"Oh, what is it?"
"Who are you?"
"Minoauno, local adventurer and samurai." He took his mask off.
"...You?"
"And you are?"
"I've heard about you. I'll pardon your rudeness this time. I am the one who protects this land, the Narukami Ogosho, Raiden Shogan." she replied.
"Lady Shogan, it's about time we leave this place."
"I can't move quickly with these wounds and the enemy will surely target me."
"I'm counting on that." Sam slightly smiled.
"There are only two of us and many of them. How do you plan to get us out of here?"
"That's simple, we will head out the front."
"Are you insane, we are outnumbered." Shogun points out.
"Now now, I AM quite good at this, you know."
Sam and Shogan exit the throne room and head for the exit. While making their way down the stairs, they came across Nobushi charging up the stairs and another group came from the top.
"Looks like we have to take the quick way down." Sam proceeded to pick up Shogan.
"You fool! Unhand me at once!"
"No time!"
Sam made a few leaps and they were at the bottom near the exit. Once there Sam set Shogan down. She responds by hitting his chest after he sets her down. They proceeded to head for the exit until a large block of ice blocked their path. Sam reached for his sword until a couple of arrows were shot at the Shogun and himself. A group of Nobushi were making their way towards them. A pair of Nobushi armed with crossbows fired from the back and another group would confront him head on. Sam parried the incoming arrows heading his way. After successfully deflecting the arrows he engaged Nobushi. The first one goes for a vertical slash however Sam parried it and countered with a kick that knocked Nobushi to the ground. Sam engaged another with a quick parry followed with a cross cut. He turns to another to perform a lightning fast upper slash (quick draw). Multiple opponents were charging in from all sides Sam engaged oneand once the other were close enough he began to glow and spun 360 degrees (Blender). Sam kicks up one of the down Nobushi and kicks him towards his comrade with the crossbows. He continue slice through the opponents coming his Shogun watching near the exit still holding her wounds.
"This Minuano is quite skilled with the is like a different person when he fights." Shogun observed him closely.
The Nobushi were disoriented and this would have been the best time to flee, however someone else appeared.
"It looks like they are no match for you. I will have to ask you to hand over the Shogun." Aether makes an appearance walking towards Sam slowly. Sam looks at the wounded Shogan then back at Aether .
"Unfortunately I can't comply with your request." Sam replied.
"That's too bad, I was hoping we could settle this peacefully. Guess I will just take her." Draws a basic sword and runs towards Sam. Aether makes the first move to strike but Sam blocks and delivers a hard strike. Aether blocks the attack but was sent back several feet from Sam's attack. Aether takes his stance and Sam does the same
"Let's go." Sam smiled.
Aether vs Sam
*The Only Thing I Know For Real- MGR cue*
The two warriors stared each other down while in their stance.
"Now now, don't be shy." Sam smiled
Aether with his amazing speed blitz towards Sam in an attempt to confuse and catch him off guard. Aether goes for a strike but Sam blocks it. Sam returns with his own strike but Aether blocks it using two hands on his sword. They both jump backwards to distance themselves briefly then they charge in to engage each other. Aether fires off Ameno energy from his sword. Sam jumps over it and follows up with his attack spinning to the ground (Avalanche). Aether dodge the attack and leaps backwards and fire more shots from his sword. Sam uses his own Ameno energy to close the distance between the two of them.
*Cling*Clash*Cling*Clash*Cling*Clash*Cling*Clash*
The two circled around each other while exchanging strikes and then their swords locked up.
"Hmm, you're pretty good." Sam compliments him.
"You're not half bad yourself." Aether replied.
Aether jumps over Sam but halfway through Sam lands hits, sending Aether flying back. Sam chases Aether then smacks to the ground from the air. Aether was able to block both attack but was overwhelmed by Sam's strength and skill. Aether gets back on his feet and continues the fight. *Cling*Clash*Cling*Clash*Cling*Clash*Cling*Clash* Aether was able to land a few hits on Sam and the two jumped back again to distance themselves. Aether pulled out a strange dagger glowing with electro(Raiden stolen power).
"Time to end this." Aether smirked.
"Hmm?" Sam is not sure what he is up to. Shogun had a bad feeling about that dagger and realized what it was.
"Minuano stop him!" Shogun shouted to Sam. He proceeds to charge forward.
Aether, wasting no time, stabs himself with the stolen Electro infused dagger. A flash of electro elemental energy fills Aether.
"Such power and to think this is not all of it." Aether looks at Raiden.
Once again Aether charges at the Shogan with his sword embedded with a large amount of electro. Sam intercepts him and stops his attack. Sam pushes Aether back and the two continue their fight. Aether began to speed up his attacks and hit Sam from different sides and then appear in front of him when he was done.
"You're a tough one, I'll give you that."
"Heh." Sam just smirks.
Sam slowly paces back and forth while twirling his sword around and nods with a small grin. He didn't want to drag this out much longer as he was slowly losing his advantage. Sam stops but continues to twirl his sword around again and this time he sticks it in the ground and dashes forward with his sword trailing behind creating sparks(Assault rush). Sam's sword is now ignited on fire and he starts with an upper slash that Aether dodge, then he twirls his swords and continues his assault. Aether started to gain the upper hand by blitzing around and hitting Sam in his blind spots and during that time Sam was observing Aether's movements and reaction. After receiving a few strikes from Aether, he moves in to strike at Sam. The same time Sam sheaths his sword.(Slow motions) Sam timing his next move, hits the trigger from his sheath and his sword shoots out. He catches it and lands a clean slash on Aether upper body. Aether spins backwards and lands on one knee to the ground while catching his breath. Sam tapped his sword on his shoulder a few times.

"Tsk. How is this possible? I should be stronger than you?" Aether curious now.
"Trade secret, can't talk about it with you." Sam replied with a smile. Sam turned to Shogan and told her one thing.
"Get ready to fly."
"Huh?" Shogan is not sure what he means by that.
Aether coming in with his Electro embedded sword. Sam concentrated and shot several large Ameno elemental energy projectiles from his sword. Aether looked to redirect the energy away however when the two opposing elemental energies collided they caused a massive swirl knocking everyone off their feet and flying.
Inazuma City
Sam and Shogan were flying towards the town down below. Sam uses some Ameno energy to shift Shogun and himself to one of the buildings. They crash through the roof and into some water to break their fall. Sam wakes up from the crash landing. It was early in the evening and the moon was not out yet.
"Well, I did suggest to the bathhouse to try an open roof." Sam lightly chuckled.
Sam attempts to get up but felt something on top of him. He looks down and sees the Shogan on top of him. Sam gets up and moves her off of him and checks the surroundings. He caught a quick glance of the wet Shogun who is currently unconscious. He rubbed his chin and gave a small smile.
"It doesn't hurt to stop and enjoy the view once in a while." Sam thought to himself.
Sam attempts to wake her up but is not able to. After a few more attempts, he picks her up and carries her out. Sam came across some clothes that would help Shogan not stand out.
Outside the bathhouse
Sam checks the streets and no sign of the Nobushi or Shogun soldiers yet. Sam decided it would be best to take the back roads and roofs. He made his way to the edge of town. Two guards were walking on the road heading into town. There were two horses tied to a pole that belonged to the guards. Sam cuts the rope and mounts the horse with the Shogun and takes off to the docks in Ritou.
Plane of Euthymia
While Sam was heading to Ritou, the Shogan was pondering what to do from here. Deep inside in a place her called the Plane of Euthymia, the true ruler Ei ponders over the recent events with the Shogun. Ei is currently pacing back and forth.
"How did this happen? Where did I go wrong?" Ei wondering.
"There is not enough evidence." Shogan replied.
"That strange man who doesn't use a vision."
"There is not enough information."
"The people of Inzuma, what has happened to them. Why have they turned against us? "
"..."
"What about the Samurai adventure?"
"He is a mystery but he is quite skilled. I sense similar energy in him just like Aether."
"What do you mean?"
"He is not from here."
"Interesting. Can he be trusted?" Ei crosses her arms.
"The one named Miko holds him in high regard as well as other adventurers based on the reports we have received."
"Miko holds him in high regard? Hmm, perhaps I should meet him and see for myself."
"I have a suggestion about the Samurai."
"What is it?"
"Let's make use of him."
"How so?"
"First we investigate our attacker and what his goal is. Second we recover our power and take back Inazuma."
"I like the idea but how can we convince him to help? He is an adventurer and I doubt he would do this for free."
"If he refuses then we will dispose of him."
"Let's not do that. He is an adventurer and he does have the right to refuse."
"What do you suggest?"
"I could just ask him myself."
"No. We will demand he help us. You are the Narukami Ogosho."
"True, however I've lost most of my power and the people I swore to protect. What exactly am I at this point?"
"!" Shogun grits at the current reality for them.
"Our best chance is to ask for his help but I'm not sure how to do that."
"Then, I will request his assistance."
"I think it would be better if I asked him."
"As you wish."
"Wish me luck."
Unknown Room and Location
Ei wakes up and finds herself in a room she is not familiar with.
"I see you have finally woken up. Hmm? Ei it's been a long time."
"Hello Miko, it's been awhile."
"It's been too long but I'm very happy to see you nonetheless."
"By the way, why are you wrapped up like that ?"
"Oh this? Well a certain samurai got rowdy while helping a certain caption."
"A certain captain?" Ei not quite following.
"In order to leave Inazuma, Minuano helped this captain get her boat, through the blockage that was preventing sailors from leaving. As Luck would have it, I was captured on one of those boats until he rescued me. He blew them up which allowed us to escape."
"How did you get captured?"
"Our enemy is well informed and prepared for things. It would be wise not to underestimate them. They are aware of beings like me."
"They are well informed?"
"Speaking of being wet, what happened to you?"
"What do you mean?" Ei is a bit confused and notices she is wearing a different attire as well.
"How did I get wet? And where are my clothes?"
"Haha. Don't worry, ours are drying as we speak."
"Well that's good to hear." Ei changes the conversations to more important matters.
"Miko, about the recent events that have happened."
"Yes, there are some questions that need answers. We will need to investigate and see who is behind the attack and who is that man with those machines." Miko replied.
"Agreed. Where is the samurai known as Minuano." Ei asked.
"He is in the next room resting. Do you need him?"
"Yes, I wish to speak with him. I've heard many things about him."
"You wish to have him help you reclaim Inazuma and investigate our enemy."
"Correct. You know me so well Miko." Ei smiled.
"If I was in your position, I would do the same."
Miko takes off to retrieve Sam who was resting in the other room. She comes back shortly with Sam to meet Ei.
"Greetings Samurai. Pleasure to meet you finally. I'm Ei." Ei greets him with a smile.
Sam is not sure what's going on since he had already met Raiden Shogan, however he could sense a different air about the one in front of him.
"Pleasure to meet you Lady Ei. I'm a local Samurai adventurer known as Minuano a.k.a. Jetstream Sam."
"Pleasure to you Sam. You can just call me Ei. I'm not much for formality and titles."
"Very well Ei, what can I do for you."
"Well I'll cut to the chase. I need your help Sam. I must take back Inazuma and find out who is responsible behind the attack and recover my lost power. Will you help me Sam?" Ei with serious expression.
There was a brief moment of silence.
"Ei, I wouldn't mind, I have a score to settle with that guy. It's just that I'm currently employed with Lady Yae." Sam replied.
"I see. You are an adventurer and it would look bad to quit in the middle of a job." Ei replied.
"If I may interject about that. Sam, I mentioned that I'm a servant and envoy for Eternity and our Archon. That Archon being Ei. So you're already working for her by hiring you." Miko commented with a smile.
Sam looks at Miko and can't help but admire how well she planned things out.
"Clever girl." Sam lightly chuckles.
"Everything I do, is for Eternity and well being of Inazuma." Miko replied.
"Sam, I ask of you again. Will you help me?" Ei ask with a smile.
"*Lightly chuckles* Well if you say it like that. Yes. I have a score to settle with that guy."
"Thank you Sam. I look forward to working with you. Oh and the Shogan as well." Ei said cheerfully.
"Just to clarify, there are two of you in one body?"
"Yes, I can give you an explanation another time. There is one thing I want to confirm with you."
"What's that?"
"You're not originally from our world, are you Sam?" Ei asked.
Sam just smiles seeing how perceptive Ei is.
"It does not matter if you're from another world. The other one known as Aether is also not from here as well. I wonder if there is a connection?"
"So my speculation were right about him." Miko commented.
"About me not being from here." Sam asked.
"The fact that you had no knowledge of vision was my first speculation. Most have some knowledge about Visions." Miko replied.
"Well, it's not like I was trying to hide it. Not like anyone would believe me if I told them I'm not from this world." Sam casually explained.
The group meeting continued on for a bit more.
"That's enough for tonight. I'll see everyone later." Ei saying her good night.
"Tomorrow we will discuss taking back Inazuma." Shogan informed Sam.
Sam is surprised at the sudden switch between Ei and the Shogan.
"Samurai, on this journey my status will not be disclosed to anyone."
"I'm not that careless to casually reveal your status."
"Good, as long as you understand that. I look forward to traveling with you."
"Same here Lady Shogan." Sam replied
"Shogan will suffice."
Miko was a bit surprised that the puppet Shogun would allow Sam to call her Shogan.
"Perhaps it's because of the situation we're in that she is allowing him to address her like that. I wonder." Miko thought to herself.
Sam left and everyone retired for the night.

Chapter 3 Preview
Sam had just taken out all the Hilichurls in the area. High above on top of the tower a Fauti Sniper zooms in on Sam. He takes a shot at him but Sam reflects the shot. He takes a couple more shots and the results were the same. Sam was preparing to engage the sniper when suddenly someone ran past him. The sniper begins to target the other person but she dodges the bullets with ease and runs up the tower. The sniper leaps backwards to get a clear shot of his target but she is nowhere in sight. He turns around and notices she is right behind him. The mysterious woman wasted no time and struck the sniper down to the ground. The mysterious woman lands on the ground and slowly walks towards Sam and stops at a certain distance with her hand on her hip.
"Sheesh, your lucky I was in the area. Its just unfortunate that you struck first. Mark my word, Vengeance will be mine." Eula points at Sam.
