Kagami hears someone knock on the front door of his apartment. That must be Kuroko. It seems he finally brought over the salmon, now he can actually get started on the sushi the two of them had been looking forward to all day.
Opening the door, he sees that he thought wrong, it isn't Kuroko.
"What are you doing here, Ahomine?" Kagami asks, scrunching up his eyebrows.
"What?! Is that anyway to greet your guest?" The man at his doorway responds.
"To be my guest means you would have been invited," Kagami retorts. "I don't remember inviting you over here."
"What do you mean?" Aomine says. "Kuroko said you were making sushi tonight."
"That's correct," Kagami says. "I'm making sushi for Kuroko and myself. Nowhere were you included in these plans. And I know for a fact that Kuroko wouldn't invite you over without telling me."
"Oh relax," Aomine says as he pushes himself into Kagami's apartment. "Or what, are you scared I'll interrupt your little 'date'?"
Kagami's eyebrow twitches. "We're not dating!"
"Right~ you keep telling yourself that." After Aomine takes his shoes off by the door, he proceeds to walk over to Kagami's kitchen. "So what are you making exactly? I only see rice and veggies here."
Kagami grumbles as he crosses his arms. "I'm making salmon sushi," he explains. "Once Tetsu gets here with the salmon."
"Ah Tetsu," Aomine says, noticing what Kagami called Kuroko.
"Don't look any deeper into it! Idiot!" Kagami yells as he pushes Aomine out of his kitchen.
The two then hear a knock sound on Kagami's front door, followed by soft footsteps. "Oh look, Kuroko's here," Aomine says as he greets the teal haired boy. "What did you bring, Kuroko?"
"It's just salmon," Kuroko answers. "Kagami already has everything else. Anyways, what are you doing here, Aomine?"
"That's the same thing I asked," Kagami grunts out.
"I heard Kagami was going to be making sushi," Aomine explains. "I wanted some."
"Oh," Kuroko says, confused still on why Aomine came over. Kuroko looks over at Kagami. "Would we have enough food for three people?" He asks.
Kagami looks grumpy about it, but reluctantly answers, "I guess so."
"Whats that look, Bakagami?" Aomine asks as he sees Kagami's expression.
"You know what it means, Ahomine," Kagami says as he turns back to preparing the food. This sucks, he really just wanted to spend the evening with Kuroko, without any interruptions from unexpected third parties.
About half an hour later, Kagami pushes the plate of sushi forward on the table. Aomine looks at it suspiciously. "You didn't do anything funny to it? Did you?" he asks.
"What is that supposed to mean?!" Kagami exclaims.
"Relax Aomine," Kuroko says as he grabs a piece and starts to eat. "It's fine."
Aomine slowly reaches over to grab a piece, while giving Kagami a look. Chewing slowly, his eyes grow wide before he says, "Wow, this is pretty good. Who knew you knew how to cook?"
"Everybody knew!"

It's been a long day. A long day of classes, tests, and an extra long practice for the start of the tournament next week.
All Kagami wanted was a hamburger from Maji Burger. It's what was pushing him all day. Imagine his disappointment when he arrived at the location down the street from his place to find it closed with a sign on the door that read:
We are sorry for the inconvenience. Due to an unscheduled power outage we will be closed until this Friday.
One could only imagine his disappointment.
"What should we do now, Kagami-kin?" He hears Kuroko ask from his right.
Surprised, he jumps back. "I thought I told you not to scare me like that, Kuroko!" The taller teen yells. Composing himself, he glared down at the sign. "I was really looking forward to those burgers though."
"That's why I asked, what should we do now? You especially can't just not eat," Kuroko points out.
Kagami hums to himself. "I guess I can just go home and cook for myself."
Kuroko looks away from the closed business and towards his friend. "What are you going to cook?"
"Burgers, obviously," Kagami answers. "It's what I've been waiting for all day."
The two begin walking down the street in the direction of Kagami's place. "You know how to cook burgers?"
"Yeah, a friend of mine taught me how to in America," Kagami says simply. The then arrive at Kagami's place and walk inside. Ging to the kitchen, Kagami begins pulling out the necessary ingredients and tools.
"You really do know what you're doing," Kuroko comments as he watches Kagami work in the kitchen.
"Of course I do," Kagami says. "You always act like I don't know how to cook."
"I know that you how to cook," Kuroko says. "I'm just surprised by how many things you know how to cook."
Kagami blushes at the compliment. Then asks, "Do you want a burger? How many should I make?"
"I'll be fine with one," Kuroko says. "I'm not that hungry anyways."
"Just one?" Kagami asks, just to make sure. He's always amazed at how little Kuroko eats.
"Yes, Kagami," Kuroko says. "Honestly, the amount of food you eat in a day can feed me for a week."
"Fine," Kagami says. "I'll just make you one."
A short while later, Kagami finishes grilling the burgers on the stove. One for Kuroko, and seven for him.
"You're only going to eat seven?" Kuroko asks.
"Well, yeah," Kagami answers. "Buns only come in packages of eight."

Kagami cracks two eggs and drops the yolks into a bowl. After beating them, he pours them into the pan sitting above the small flame on the stove. He watches it as it slowly starts to cook.
When it is nearly done, he reaches over for the other pan he was using, the one holding the cooked rice and veggies and piles it on top of the thin omelet. Then he folds it over and places the omelet onto a plate. The first omurice is finished.
He plans on getting another one made before Kuroko comes out of the guest bedroom. The other teen had spent the night over last night, after a long night of playing video games with the team. The rest had left, but Kuroko had stayed behind. And no matter what anyone else has to say… nothing happened between them.
So now he's making breakfast for both of them, like any good host will do. There's nothing deeper to look at here.
In the quiet apartment, he hears the bedroom door open, and Kuroko's quiet footsteps leading to the bathroom. So it looks like the teal haired teen is finally awake.
Just as Kagami is finishing cooking and plating the rest of the food, Kuroko walks into the kitchen.
"You've already cooked breakfast?" the blue haired boy asks when he looks at the table.
"Yeah, I made some omurice," Kagami nods as he brings two cups of water to place next to the food. "You said you liked it, right?"
"Yes," Kuroko nods. "But I haven't had it in years. And I don't think you've ever cooked it for me."
"Well, now you can say I have," Kagami says as he goes behind Kuroko to push him towards a chair. "And you'll be able to say I cook delicious omurice."
When Kagami eventually sits down in the chair across from him, Kuroko slowly starts to eat the food Kagami had put on the plate. "You're right," Kuroko says after a couple seconds of chewing the food. "You do cook this pretty good."

It's the day before Christmas Eve. So would that make it Christmas Eve Eve? Probably, Kagami concludes.
If it wasn't for Kuroko, Kagami would probably be spending the holiday alone this year. His parents were on another business trip. Which is kind of weird since it's a business trip to America, and didn't the entire country basically shut down around Christmas? Oh well, it's too much thinking for Kagami to really care, all he knows is that his parents wouldn;t be in Tokyo.
And when he told Kuroko about this, the blue haired teen invited Kagami over to spend Christmas with his family. And of course, Kagami said he would be there.
After the invitation, Kagami asked Kuroko if there was anything he should bring. Should he make and bring the yakitori that Kuroko said he liked so much? Didn't Kuroko also say his mom enjoyed the leftovers he gave him.
However, Kuroko said that she would be taking care of all the food and dinner. He told Kagami not to worry. Kagami of course did worry though. This is the first dinner he is going to at his not-boyfriend's place and said not-boyfriend's parents would be there.
Kuroko, sensing Kagami's thoughts, eventually told him that if he really wanted to bring over a dish, he could always make a Christmas cake.
Kagami of course accepted the opportunity and said he would make one.
And now… Kagami realizes he has never made a Christmas cake before. And when he thinks about it, Kagami's past attempts at baking haven't always been successful, especially on his first attempts.
Kagami was able to find a recipe online to bake the cake and gathered all the ingredients last night. It seems simple enough, mix the ingredients, pour them in the baking pans and put them in the oven. The difficult part is when he starts to decorate it right? Kagami might not be the most artistic person, but he's sure the taste of the cake will more than make up for what it looks like.
Kagami quickly follows the recipe and is able to put the cakes into the oven. Checking to make sure it's at the right temperature, he sets the alarm for thirty minutes and sits back in for the long wait.
At the thirty minute mark, Kagami opens the door to the oven and a cloud of smoke crafts straight into his face. Oh no, this doesn't look good. It's not supposed to do that.
Carefully, he pulls the cake pans out using the oven mitts and sets them on the stove. He swats at the air to dispel the smoke and looks at the cakes.
Oh… that does not look good at all. What is supposed to be a nice yellow cake with a slight rise in the middle is a dark brown blob on the bottom of the pans. They don't even look risen at all. More like what happens when you melt and burn sugar. Shit, there's no way he can use these.
He looks at the kitchen counter behind him where he left the remaining baking ingredients. And shit. It doesn't look like he has enough to go for a second attempt at making a cake.
This isn't good. He told Kuroko that he would bake a cake for the Christmas dinner. SO far he hasn't let the blue haired teen down. At least not when it came to his culinary exploits. He couldn't fail now.
But looking back at his… attempt sitting on the stove that still had a thin stream of smoke coming out of it… he might have to think of another excuse to tell Kuroko.
But this doesn't change the fact that he still has to somehow bring a cake to the dinner. He hopes he is able to find one at a bakery somewhere, they shouldn't be all out at this time right?
When Kagami arrives at Kuroko's house, he tentatively knocks on the front door. At first he might have been worried about the other teen's reaction to seeing that Kagami had to resort to bringing STORE BOUGHT cake, but on the way over Kagami realized this will be the first time he is meeting Kuroko's parents. This is an important step, right?
No, he shakes his head to dispel the thought. They weren't dating. This is just meeting a friend's parents. Something he is surprised took so long to happen really. He has nothing to be nervous for.
Kuroko's front door opens and a blue head pops into Kagami's field of vision.
Kagami can tell from the other's widened eyes he can see the cake Kagami is holding in his arms.
"Kagami," Kuroko starts to say. "Is that a store bought cake? I thought you said you were going to bake one?"
A blush forms across Kagami's cheeks. He breaks eye contact with Kuroko and looks at the ground. "It's a long story, you wouldn't understand," he mumbles.
