Chapter 5: uh guys, where's Yugi
Yugi Kidnapped.
Forty-five minutes later, they arrive at the mall. The mall had four floors and had a bit of everything, from toys and electronics to home goods, as well as a large food court. Since they all want to check out different things, they split into groups of 2-3. Tea and Yugi went to the clothing store to check out the swimsuit since they planned to go swimming in a few weeks. Atem, Seth, Seto, and Mokuba went to the electronics to see if there was a new game or movie they wanted. The Ishtars went to the jewelry store Marik had mentioned. Mana and Mahad went to the toy store. Joey and Tristen met up with Mai and Serenity at the food court. Aknamkanon and Solomon chose to attend a seminar on different excavation techniques at the local college instead of the mall.
"Come on, Yugi. we need to find you a cute bikini for the beach." Tea said as she pulled Yugi toward the swimsuit section. Yugi knew Tea was excited. Tea would always say she needed Female friends, and now she had them.
Yugi didn't want to get a bikini since she was still getting used to her growing body. Two days ago, she noticed her breast increase to a small to a medium B cup. Her hips have widened a bit, while her waist has shrunken to show more of an hourglass figure. Her hair had grown out a bit, going to almost mid-back. She had to pull in a low or high pony, sometimes two. It caused her to be self-conscious regarding her looks. She kept getting committed to how cute and beautiful she was, even those closest to her, but she wasn't sure.
Tea grabbed a couple of suits and forced Yugi into a fitting room to try them on. Yugi wanted to tell her to stop, but she didn't have the heart. Tea was happy, so Yugi let her continue. Each swimsuit she tried didn't look right, and she was getting discouraged. "We have tried almost every suit in this store, Tea. Maybe the one for me doesn't exist. Maybe ill just wear a t-shirt and shorts." Yugi said, placing the last suit back on the hanger. "There is a swimsuit for you, and we will find it." Tea said confidently.
"Besides, I know you are still growing in the chest area. We should look at bras while we are here, maybe some lingerie. Something will make Atem want to ravish you when he sees you." She said, giggling. Yugi looked at her with a red face. "Tea!" she said. Tea just looked at her innocently. "I am going next door to look at their paintings," Yugi said as she walked out of the store. Tea Shrugged. 'I was just joking,' she thought as she looked back at the swimsuit.
Yugi ended up walking down three stores until she came to a store of mirrors. She stopped and looked at one, seeing her reflection. She looked over her body. Her breasts were slowly trying to pop out of her corset top. Yugi sighed as she redid her top. 'Maybe Tea was right about getting new bras. My current ones are too tight.' She thought. Atem popped into her mind. 'I wonder what he thought about my body. I shared a body with him for almost four years. He must have some thoughts' Yugi thought. The more she thought about it, the more self-conscious she got.
What Yugi didn't notice as she was being watched. Three men in black suits and dark sunglasses walked up behind her, surrounding her. Yugi looked up to see the men. She turns to look at them. The next thing she knew was darkness.
Tea felt something was wrong and went to look for Yugi. She went next door only to be told that Yugi never came in. The same with the next store and the next. She immediately got scared. "Uh-oh." She said.
Meanwhile, Atem and the Kaiba brothers left the electronics and headed for the food court. They passed a jewelry store that was having a sale. In one of the cases, they had several necklaces that looked like millennium items. "You have wonderful taste; these just came in. they are based on the mythical Millennium items of Egypt." The sales lady said when she saw Atem look at them. Seto walked over to see what Atem was looking at.
Each one was about 2 inches by 1-2 inches in size. "They are made with pure gold. Due to the gold, they are not cheap." She said. The sales lady didn't want to lose a good sale but didn't want to break her clients' banks. "Money would not be a problem. How much is this one?" he asked, pointing to the necklace that looked like a puzzle. "$2500 plus tax. For an additional $500, we can add a birthstone of your choice in the eye." She answers. 'Yugi is worth every penny,' he thought, pulling out his debit card. "Can you please add the birthstone for June?" Atem asked.
The sales lady went to the right to pull a case of gems. "June has three different stones. Which one would you like? We have Alexandrite, pearl, and Moonstone." She asked while pointing to each stone. Atem noticed how the moonstone reminded him of the light in Yugi's eyes. He smiled as he told her. "The moonstone, please." He said. The sales lady went to check him out. "with tax, that comes to $3,195 even," she said as Atem handed her his card. A minute later, she gave him back the card and her receipt. "it will take around 5-10 minutes to set the stone. Please feel free to browse while you wait." She said as she took the necklace and stone to the back.
Atem continued to look around and noticed Seto look at the other necklaces in the millennium case. The sales lady came and walked over to Seto. "Can I help you, Sir?" she said friendly. Seto pointed to the one that looked like the millennium necklace. "This one, please, and can you put the birthstone for April in it." He asked. "of course, however, because of the hardness of April birthstone, diamond, it does cost more. $3500 before tax." She said. Seto nodded as he pulled out his debit card. The sales lady took his card and checked him out. "With tax comes to $3,727," she said as she charged the card and gave it back to him with his receipt. "I'll be back in 5-10 with your purchases, Gentleman." She said to take the second necklace and stone to the back.
Seto nodded and noticed Atem watching him. "You won't say anything?" he asked. Atem held his hands up in a defensive manner. "I saw nothing. Let me ask. Ishizu is the only one I know who has a birthday in April." He asked, raising an eyebrow—Seto looked over to the food court where the Ishtars were setting with Mahad and Mana. "I found myself caring about her very much. I am not sure if I love her because, except for Mokuba, I have never really cared for anyone. Let alone love. It was after you left, and I started talking more with Yugi. I have opened myself up more." Seto said, not looking at Atem. "I was the same way. When I first met Yugi, I was bitter from being in the puzzle for so long with no memory of who I was. So, I get it. Fair warning. Suppose you hurt Ishizu in any way. Not only will you have to contend with me. You must deal with her brothers and a sister who has no problem using your body for ancient ritual ingredients." Atem said.
Seto nodded, only slightly concerned. "Understood; however, I still don't believe in the shadow realm or the magic stuff. But it seems that if you hurt Yugi, you must deal with more than just her friends and family. You must deal with the dual monsters as well." Seto said as he held his hand out. Atem nodded and took Seto's offer hand, shaking it. A few moments later and sales lady came back with their purchases. "Thank you for shopping with us today. Have a good day," she said as she waved them off. Either one of the notice Marik also purchases one of the necklaces for some reason.
They left the store and continued to the food court, only to be stopped by Tea, who looked worried. "Hey, would guys haven't seen Yugi since a spilt up earlier, did you?" she asked. Both men shook their heads. "Are you sure she is not in one of the other stores," Atem asked, knowing it's not like Yugi to walk off without saying anything. "Yes, I asked almost every store, and each one said no one matched her description enter their store." Tea said, getting more worried. "Let's check the mall security office," Seto said, heading to the offices.
At first, the security team wouldn't let them see the camera, stating that Yugi could be in one of the stores. Seto had to threaten to sue them for negligence and claim they were not real police, so they didn't have to listen to them. Once, they were allowed to look at their camera. They found Yugi in front of the mirror shop with a sad look on her face. Atem looked at Tea in confusion. "Yugi is still struggling with her body. I've been trying to help her with shopping, but I know she still has self-esteem issues." She explains, thinking back to the hospital bathroom.
Atem nodded as he continued to watch the camera. 'Once we find Yugi, I need to show her how beautiful I think she is.' He thought. What he saw next scared the daylight out of him. The three prominent men surround Yugi, and it looks like they hit her with something that made her pass out. "They must have drugged her. Yugi would have summoned her monster to help if she was in danger." Tea said. "let's regroup with the other and figure out who took her." Seto said, walking out of the office. The three of them headed for the food court.
Joey was the first one to notice them. He saw they were looking worried. "what's wrong, guys, and where Yugi?" he asked as he stood up. "Joey, Yugi has been kidnapped by three large thugs." Tea said. Everyone jumped up and surrounded them. "Atem, Are you sure?" Mahad asked, knowing the only thing Atem would not joke about was Yugi. "We saw her being what we think is drugged and carried out of the mall using the mall security cameras," Atem said.
Suddenly his phone went off. Atem looked down and saw Yugi's face. Tea helped him to add a photo to his caller id. "Yugi, where are…." He answered it only to be cut off. "Put me on speaker." it wasn't Yugi. Atem looked at his phone and hit the speaker button. "Listen carefully. Yugi is on her way to me. If you want her back, come to Kaibacorp island, where we last dueled. I swear on my soul, Yugi will be completely safe. No harm will befall her at my hand. See you soon." It said before ending the call. Everyone knew that voice. Dark Marik.
Meanwhile, Yugi woke up on an airplane over the ocean. 'What on earth?' she thought. She looked down and saw she was handcuffed to the chair. She started to look around and saw the three men who had abducted her. "What do you want with me?" she asked, trying not to sound scared. She faced real monsters before she could deal with a couple of thugs. They look at her. "Look, chief, it looks like the little princess is awake." One of the men was the smallest of the three.
The largest got up from his seat and walked over to her. He roughly took her chin in his fingers, hard enough to leave a bruise. "If you remain quiet and be a good girl, no harm will come to you. Our boss wants a word with you." He said as Yugi just stared at him defiantly. "We will be landing soon." He said as he took his hand off her and walked back to his seat. Yugi rubbed her chin with her free hand. 'I'll play along for now. Atem, I know you will find me,' she thought as she stared out the window.
Ten minutes later, that plan started to land. Once on land, the petite guy uncuffed Yugi from the chair, roughly yanked her out of her seat, and pushed her off the plane, causing her to sprain her ankle. "ow," she said as she tried to stand only to fall in pain. "I told you, morons, not to hurt her." Someone said. She looked up and saw the last person she expected to see, Dark Marik. Yugi noticed he looked different from before. His hair was sandier blonde, and he had golden eyes. The eye of Horus wasn't on his forehead. "well, you see, boss…" one of the men tried to say only to be silenced but Dark Marik with a wave of his hand. "Your services are no longer required. The money will be in your account shortly with a small deduction for harm Yugi," he said. The men somehow knew not to question him and quickly left.
Dark Marik kneeled in front of Yugi, and she tried to hurry away. She didn't trust him. "Your ankle needs to be treated before it gets worst," he said. Something told Yugi to charge him for some reason, so she held her foot out. He gently ran his fingers over the ankle, causing Yugi to wince, looking for broken bones. "You are lucky. It doesn't seem to be broken. I can wrap it in a brace at my place a little farer in." he said. Yugi nodded as Dark Marik gently picked her up not to aggravate her ankle more.
Slowly they walk inward to a small cave-like dwelling. There was a fire pit in front and freshly caught fish waiting to be cooked. Dark Marik sat Yugi down on a makeshift couch from the old plane they used to get here for the battle city finals. He walked over to a large chest and opened it to pull out a first aid kit. Dark Marik came back to Yugi and extended the equipment. He pulled out a wrap brace along with some ibuprofen. Dark Marik gently lifted Yugi's foot and started to wrap her ankle gently. Once he was done, he found a pillow and lowered her foot on top of it. "Keep it elevated for now." He said as he went to the fire and started cooking the fish.
Yugi watched Dark Marik close. He was acting so differently from the last time she saw him.
Last time he was a psycho maniac, hell-bent on destroying the pharaoh for his power; now, it's like being with a friend. "What do you want? How long have you been here?" she asked softly. Dark Marik looked back at her with sane eyes. "To your second question, a couple of days, maybe a week. All I know is that I woke up here." He answered, turning the fish to get an even cook on the stick. Yugi cocked her head to one side.
"What is that last thing you remember?" she asked. She felt that what she said earlier to her friends was exemplary. He wasn't evil, just lost. "The dual. I remember telling Marik that he needed me, which wasn't true. Maybe it was in the beginning, but by the time we had the dual. I was too lost in my anger to think straight." He said, taking the fish off the fire and placing one on a plate. He handed it to Yugi, who took it. "You asked what I want. A second chance. I want to know if I wasn't deranged, would I have still lost." Dark Marik said, sitting down next to her with his cook fish. "if I still lose, maybe the pharaoh could help me with my memories." He said, taking a bit of his fish. Yugi also started eating. 'This is good. He is a good cook.' She thought before speaking. "what do you mean, your memories." She asked.
"After being sealed in the shadow realm, I started calming down. As my mind started to clear, I saw more memories than Marik would have. I know they are mine but not mine at the same time. I know it doesn't make sense." Dark Marik dropped her head into one of his hands. Yugi placed a hand on his shoulder. He looked up at her. "you are talking to a girl who shared her body with a 5k spirit for four years. Strange memories are right up my alley." She said with a smile. "I guess you're right, " Dark Marik said, looking up at the sky. "why kidnap me, though?" Yugi asked. "You are his weakness. The pharaoh will do just about anything to get you back. I was hoping he will at least hear me out just by having you here." He said, closing his eyes. Yugi understood where Dark Marik was coming from. Atem would walk through the valley of shadows just for her. "I might regret this, but when he gets here, ill talk to him. Most of the time, he listens to me." She said, finishing her fish. "Most?" Dark Marik asked with a raise eyes brow. "There have been times when I think Atem's anger got the better of him." She looked up at the sky, thinking about the dual with both Seto and Raphael.
"Anger makes people do and say things they would never say or do. Sometimes they need to take a deep breath or step back to get a clearer picture." She said with a smile. Dark Marik agreed with what she said. "In my other memories, they call me something else besides Marik." He said, looking to Yugi, who gave him an encouraging smile. "They call me Mia." He said. "Mia, I don't know why but it seems right," Yugi said as she held out a hand. "Hello, Mia. I am Yugi," she said. Mia looked at her cautiously before taking her hand. They both started to giggle.
