Chapter 12: what do we do now?
After what went down at the Museum, everyone decided to head to their own homes. Yugi, Atem, Aknamkanon, and grandpa went to the game shop. Grandpa made them tea, and they were sitting in the living room. Yugi and Atem were on the couch cuddling while Grandpa and Aknamkanon were in the recliners. Each one seemed to be emotionally exhausted. Grandpa and Aknamkanon had readily fallen asleep.
"What did you mean when you said she asked you?" Yugi asked, laying with her back on Atem's chest, his arms around his waist. "What?" Atem said, not fully understanding the question. "You and Yuki were talking, and you said she asked you about the betrothment," Yugi said. Atem sighed, resting his chin on her shoulder. "It was when we were both 16. I already planned on asking for her hand in marriage, and one day she came to me with a contract, asking if I would be interested in entering a betrothal contract with her. We would marry on our 18th birthday. I didn't think anything then, but now it seems convenient." Atem said, rubbing her shoulder. Yugi nodded.
"I think she did truly love you. She just wasn't one for you," she said. "Atem, are you sure you are the former Pharaoh Atem?" Yugi asked. Atem was shocked. "What are you talking about?" he asked. Yugi tilted her head to look up at him. "why would the Gods allow you, your father, Seth, Isis, Mahad, and Mana to return to the land of the living? I think they might have split you in two. The part of you, Pharaoh Atem, is still in the afterlife, waiting for Yuki to join him. You are here with me as Yami Senna. It's like they were saying. They were trying to fix a wrong. Maybe to give you a second chance as well," She said, causing Atem to rethink things. "And what about you? The power thing." Atem asked. Yugi sighed. "you did lie to her. I am scared. Whatever this power is. What if I can't control it." she held her hand up and looked at it. "what if I get corrupted by it. What if I turn evil and want to take over the world. We have seen it before those with power lose themselves with it." she said sadly. Atem placed his hand in her and brought it to his lips. "I'll be there to help. I am not leaving you alone. You are my light, my future, and nothing will stop me from being with you." He said, wrapping his arms around her waist again and squeezing her tightly, making Yugi smile.
They sat there for the longest time, slowly falling asleep together, when the doorbell rang. To answer it, Yugi unwantedly pulled herself away from Atem because she was comfy. it was Mia, Marik, Ryo, and Bakura. "Hi, can we come in?" Mia said. Yugi nodded; she moved to the side and let them come in. They went into the kitchen to not disturb Grandpa or Aknamkanon. "What's up?" Yugi asked, giving them some tea. "We, the four of us, been talking about everything, and we think you have already used the power she was talking about," Mia said. Yugi and Atem look at her, confused. "your hugs, Yugi. Whenever you hug someone, you make them feel better. You give out love, and that's your power." Bakura said. "What are you saying? I need to hug Zorc to destroy him?" Yugi asked. They all shrugged. "We also realize something else." Bakura said. "what?" she asked. "I am not the same Mia from back then," Mia said, grabbing Marik's hand. "I am not the same Bakura who released Zorc the first time." He said, holding Ryo's hand. "Sadness, grief, and Anger. Father Ari called them traps." Yugi said, pointing to each one of them and herself. "I was sad about Atem thinking I'll never see him again." She added. "I was mad at myself for thinking I had failed to protect the Ishtar family," Mia said. "I was full of grief for losing my family twice and for losing Ryo." Bakura said. "our loved ones have freed us. I don't know what you will have to do to destroy Zorc. I'll stand with you." Mia held out her hand, which Yugi took. "I'll stand with you as well," Bakura said, covering the girls' hands with his own. A warm glow came from their joined hands. Color light came into the room, dancing along the walls making everyone feel safe and loved. "the prophecy didn't mean Yuki and her siblings. It meant us." Yugi said.
Suddenly there was a flash of lightning and a boom of thunder that came out of nowhere. It woke grandpa and Aknamkanon. "what on earth?" grandpa said. They walked outside and saw the sky darkening. The wind had picked up, and a black hole formed over the city. "He's here. Zorc as returned." Yugi said. A Large dark figure came out of the black hole. He was large with sharp horns, large black wings on his back, and a snake head from his stomach. "It feels so good to be back." He said in a loud, dark demon-like voice. He started to destroy Domino city. People screamed and ran for cover. "There is no point in running. Soon darkness will spread, and this world will be gone." Zorc said as he sent his dark minions to attack the people of Domino city.
Yugi heard all the screams and knew they had to do something. "Grandpa, Aknamkanon, stay inside," Yugi said as she closed her eyes and focused. With a pop, Dark Magician and Dark Magician Girl. "you summon us, mistress." They said. "Do anything you can to protect Grandpa and Aknamkanon." She said. They nodded and stood in front of the game shop, ready to fight. Yugi ran toward the city center. "Yugi, what are you doing?" Grandpa asked in worry. "We have to do something." She said. "Yugi," Atem said. Yugi looked at him. he held up a dual disk and a deck. He stapped them to his wrist. Mia, Marik, Ryo and Bakura did the same. "Let's do this," he said. The wall went to the city center. 'be safe, my granddaughter,' grandpa thought.
They arrive at the city center just in time to see one of the shadow creatures about to attack a little girl. "Oh no, you don't," Mia yell as she summons Helios, the Pegasus rider and winged Pegasus of dreams. "Attack!" Mia order. Wind Pegasus attacked the Shadow creature while Helios the Pegasus got the girl to safety. "good work," Yugi said as she summoned a slight magician and Marshmallow to help other people. Atem Summon swift Gaia, the fierce knight, and obnoxious Celtic guard. Marik summons legendary fiend and Egyptian god slime. Ryo calls Dark witch and a man-eater bug. Bakura summons Dark Necrofear and Goblin Zombie. They ordered their monster to help and protect the people of Domino City.
Three orbs of light came down to Zorc. It was Lady Yuki, Lady Mia, and Lord Bakura. "Zorc, we won't let you destroy this world," Yuki said. Zorc just laughed evilly. "you three are weak. You can't hurt me." He said. "that doesn't mean we won't try, now THUNDER FORCE" Yuki screamed as she fired lighting at him. "BLAZE CANNON" Lady Mia yelled, firing a fire cannon at him. "FIST OF FATE" Lord Bakura yelled as he punched an energy blast at him. It was direct him. Explosions went off all over him. When the dust settled, he was still there. "I told you. YOU THREE ARE WEAK" he yelled as he threw fireballs of dark energy at them, hitting them straight on. They fall to the ground in three loud thuds.
Yugi and Atem ran to Yuki, Ryo and Bakura ran to Lord Bakura, and Mia and Marik Ran to Lady Mia. "Yuki, are you alright?" Yugi said, help her set up. Yuki was shocked to see Yugi. "What are you doing here?" Yuki asked, wincing in pain. "this is still my city, and ill do what I can to help." She said. "you are too sweet. But untrained, and I refuse to see you hurt or killed. Please, Atem, Take Yugi and run." Yuki said, looking at Atem with pleading eyes. "And go where? soon my darkness will be everywhere." Zorc chuckled, looking down at them. "Even now, my evil is affecting everyone in this world, and soon it will all be mine." He said, smiling look at Yugi, Mia, and Bakura. "You know I could use a pick-me-up." He said as he waved his hand, and three black spheres wrapped around Yugi, Mia, and Bakura, bringing them up to him. "YUGI, give her back!" Yuki yelled, trying to get up and chase after the spheres only to fall to her knee in pain. "Yuki," Atem said, helping her back up. "we have to get her back. We can't let Zorc kill her," she cried.
Atem was shocked. "you care about her that much." He asked. "Atem, the Gods sent me to her. I was there when she was born. I was there when she got diagnosed with Dwarfism. I was there when they messed with her body. I was with her as the two of you went on your adventures to recover your lost memories. I was also there during your dual. I scream at you not to leave her. You couldn't see, sense, or hear me, but I was there. By watching her grow up, I have fallen for her. She is my little sister, and I will do anything to keep her safe." Yuki said with tears flowing down her face as she spoke. "then trust in her." he said. Yuki looked at him, confused. "I don't know why or how. I know everything will be okay. Trust in Yugi." he said, looking up at the spheres which held Yugi.
Inside the Spheres, Yugi, Mia, and Bakura were fighting off the voices of demons and monsters. "You lost your family and Ryo, Bakura, and you will never get them back," the whispers said to Bakura, who was holding his head in his hands, trying to block out the voice. "you failed to protect the Ishtar family, they are dead because of you. You hurt so many people. You should be locked away, away from everyone," they said to Mia, shaking violently. "Atem never loved you. You were just a plaything, Just a host for his soul to use at his command. Yuki was supposed to be his queen." Yugi heard them say. She put her hands on her ears and shut her eyes. "how could you compare to her anyway? You are weak and ugly. You always need someone to save you." Tears were forming in her eyes.
Atem could sense Yugi getting weaker. "YUGI, Don't give up. Think of your friends, your family, and those who love you. We are all here with you." He yelled up to the sphere. Inside Yugi did hear his voice but barely. She was trying to fight the other agents. "Yugi," she looked to see Slifer in his human form, standing before her. "Remember, you are not Lady Yuki. You are not meant to be. You are Yugi Moto. You make everyone else smile and laugh. You make them feel better. You are the light—one that shines brighter than the sun, moon, and the stars above. I love you, my daughter, and you are loved by everyone. Don't forget that," he said. As he spoke, the voices decreased. "listen to your heart. Feel their love." He added as Yugi force inwere. She could feel it all. Joey, tea, Tristen, Grandpa, Seto, seth, Mokuba, Ishizu, Isis, Mahad, Mana, Mia, mairk, Odion, Ryo, Bakura, Aknamkanon, Lady Yuki and her siblings. And Atem. They made her feel warm inside. She looked up and smiled at Slifer. "that's right. I am stronger because of the people around me. My enemies have become my dearest friends. They all give me strength to shine even in complete darkness." she said, feeling more and more power of love flowing through her.
Yugi look over at Mia and Bakura. She focuses on them. "Mia, Bakura, you are stronger than the voices. You are not the past. Embrace the future. Remember your loved ones. They give you strength during your weakness times." She said. Both Mia and Bakura force on the ones they love. Mia had Marik and Bakura had Ryo. They also had each other and Yugi. All three of them started glowing, brighter and brighter.
Outside, cracks of light started to poke through the spheres. Suddenly each one exploded to show Yugi, Mia, and Bakura. Mia and Yugi were wearing dresses made of pure white silk. MIa was a two-piece with a halter top and flowing skirt with a slit on one side. Yugi was in an off-the-shoulder bell sleeve dress with a silver belt around the waist. They were both wearing white ballerina slippers. Bakura was in a white three-piece suit with gold and silver cuff, matching cape, and dress shoes. Each of them had large gorgeous wings on their back radiating with good emotional energy. "How is this possible? I had your sadness, anger, and grief." Zorc yelled. "You thought you could are fears and our pain against us, but we learn to move on from them. We conquered our fears," they spoke as one. "you know, after everything you have done, Zorc. I want you to know what one thing." Yugi said. She looks at Mia and Bakura, who both smile at her with a nod. "what is that, you little brat?" Zorc asked. "I don't hate you, and I forgive you." She said. Zorc froze in one spot. "just lost your way, gave in to your anger, but that's okay" she floated to his forehead, placing her hand on him. "I'll help you." She said, closing her eyes with a smile. Purifying light energy wrapped itself around Zorc. Slowly he got smaller and smaller as they floated down to the ground. Suddenly Zorc was gone, and a little crying baby was in Yugi's arms. Mia and Bakura came over to her, smiling as Yugi rocked the baby. "shh, shh, you're alright," she said. The baby opened his silver eyes and cood at Yugi with a smile before falling asleep, feeling safe in Yugi's arms. "that's it, everything is okay now." She said
Everyone came running over to them. "Yugi, are you three okay?" Atem said. "yes, Atem, everything is fine now." Yugi said, smiling at him. She looked over his shoulder to see Yuki standing back away from them. She smiled and walked over to her. "I understand now what you and gods were doing. Just righting a wrong. You just went about it the wrong way." She said, chuckling. Yuki smiled. "the babe, is he?" Yuki asked. "getting a second chance." Yugi said. "What are we going to do with him?" Mia ask. They all hear a cough. They turn to see the Egyptian gods in their human form. "We will take him to the future and make sure he has a good loving home," Slifer said. Yugi gently gave the now sleeping babe to Slifer. "Yugi have done more than we have ever thought possible. Don't ever let that light in you go out, okay." He said. Yugi just gave him a smile which he returned as the three disappeared.
"So the city is destroyed. People got hurt and possibly lost their lives. What do we do now." Lord Bakura said, being a smart aleck. Yugi, Mia, and Bakura look at each with a smile. They brought their hands together and released a wave of positive energy, which rebuilt the city and healed the people. It seems like what just happened was just a bad dream. Lord Bakura places his hands on his hips. "Okay, I am impressed." He said. They all laughed. "we need to explain what happened to everyone." Yugi said. They all agreed.
