It turned out, that leaving the matters to Kenny was a great choice by Frieda. It took him little under a week to find out everything about her family's killer.

The man had been an excellent physician, known to many nobles. His name was Grisha Yeager and he lived in Shiganshina before the attack on wall Maria.

According to members of the military, namely the former commander of the survey corps Keith Shadis, the first time anyone heard of him was the time when he was found outside the walls. That in itself would usually be enough to bring the attention of the military police first squad, yet for some reason the matter was simply brushed off.

Sometime later, an epidemic had broken out in Shiganshina. At that time, Grisha had shown his great prowess in the medical arts, by saving the whole district from the disease. Thanks to this, many important people heard about him and soon he would serve to the noblemen of the interior.

He had married and settled down. He even had a son, Eren and took care of a girl named Mikasa. Unfortunately, his wife Carla had died in the attack.

That was all the information Frieda got from Kenny's investigation. She had to give credit when it was due, and the old Ackerman did a pretty good job, considering the turmoil that started after wall Maria fell.

And here she was, standing in front of the hall that was turned into a makeshift refugee camp for the people of Shiganshina.

Frieda wasn't sure why exactly she had chosen to do it personally. Maybe it was according to what she had said earlier to Kenny, or maybe it was in defiance of the notion that Karl Fritz's will was controlling her actions. Nevertheless, she needed to do this herself.

She walked around the sleeping civilians. The very first people who faced the world's wrath. Frieda could feel deep compassion for them. They've just lost their closest ones, their homes, their belongings… And they would never get to know why.

But right now, it wasn't that important to Frieda. She was on her way to take revenge.

And so, she finally stood above her designated target. Grisha's son, Eren Yaeger.

There was no mistaking it. Next to him, slept his adoptive sister, Mikasa. A young, dark-haired girl with oriental features.

He was sleeping so peacefully. But soon, it was about to change. Frieda needed this confrontation.

Images of the boy's father murdering her dearest family in cold blood filled her mind. The rage that has been building up ever since that night roared within the young woman. She could finally do it and no one could stop her.

She crouched over the boy, with her heart filled with vicious intent.

All of a sudden, something unexpected happened.

The young Eren yawned.

Frieda was frozen in her place. What was she supposed to do now?

The boy slowly opened his eyes and once he noticed that someone was watching him, he turned to face the dark-haired woman.

For some weird reason, the young female couldn't shake off the feeling that they looked very much alike. It even wasn't because they had the same features. The look in his eyes was the very same look that she had. These were the eyes of someone who had lost everything.

"Who are you?" The boy asked with curiosity.

Frieda was feeling like a little kid who had just been caught red-handed. For a few solid seconds, she couldn't utter a single word. But she needed to act naturally.

"I'm Frieda" the woman said, introducing herself "what's your name?"

"Eren" he responded with a little dose of caution "what are you doing here?"

What exactly was she doing here, again? Sure, at first, she was convinced that she wanted to take revenge, but now she was beginning to question her judgement.

"I came to visit this place" the young woman responded, averting his gaze "to watch over the people…"

The boy gave her a look of doubt.

"You don't look like a guard, miss…"

She had to fight off the urge to smile. Suddenly, this kid was making her reconsider her choice of action.

'Remember the rage you were feeling.'

"I'm stronger than I look" Frieda exclaimed.

When Eren heard that, something had changed in his attitude.

"I wasn't strong enough…" the boy whispered as he looked in the distance.

The young female was conflicted inside. Her feelings were fighting a fierce war over what to do with this boy.

"What happened to you?"

She didn't know where her question came from. Maybe she was feeling compassionate towards this kid…

"My mom is dead" Eren sobbed quietly "all because I wasn't strong enough…"

This was just too much for Frieda. At first, she wanted retribution, but now, this little boy was making her feel sorry.

"I know what it's like" the young woman responded, to the boy's surprise.

"Almost all of my family had died. All because I wasn't strong enough…"

Eren looked at her with wide eyes.

"You said you were strong…"

"Sometimes, there are things in life that you cannot just overcome with strength alone…" Frieda explained.

The young boy gritted his teeth.

"You're wrong…" he uttered "I'll prove you wrong… I'll become strong enough… I'll destroy these titans…"

"You'd be better off if you just accepted that you're no match for them" the dark-haired female interjected.

"And live like cattle?"

The boy was radiating a strange impression. Something about him seemed really unusual, like he was exceptionally determined.

Either way, she knew where he was coming from. After all, she had been guided here by her emotions, to do the exact same thing that he was talking about.

But she couldn't do it. Eren needed help. He was troubled, just like she had been.

So, the female got closer to him and before he could do anything, Frieda embraced the surprised boy.

"I know this feeling" the young woman exclaimed "but emotions are clouding your vision. So please…"

"Let me take care of that…"

In that instance, Frieda kissed Eren's forehead.

His eyelids became heavy and slowly, his consciousness was slipping away from him. The only thing he could do, was to stare into this stranger woman's eyes.

As the boy fell limp in her arms, Frieda looked over the sleeping population of Shiganshina.

"No one will remember that you ever existed" she spoke, focusing on using her almighty power "I will make sure that the rest of your life will be happy and peaceful…"

The young woman wasn't sure why she brought herself to use the coordinate. It wasn't that Frieda never used it before, as she had done that to Historia in the past, but this time felt different.

She has never used her power on such a large number of people before.

The young woman took sleeping Eren into her arms and stood up.

As she was walking away, there was only one precise thought in her mind.

'Little sister, it looks like I found a companion for you…'
