Chapter 1
When it comes to stories about bugs, i feel that termites, especially termite Kings get underappreciated as an idea of a hive society. So why not do a bug's life fanfiction that centers Termites and the concept of hive Kings. Enjoy.
King Tagon the magnificent of the Termite colony has finally passed away after years of his benevolent rule. His consort, Queen Tala the merciful, who was supposed to announce the new king as part of the tradition was suddenly assassinated before she even had a chance. Even with the killers captured, no termite knows who orchastred the Queen's murder. Many begin rumors that the murder of the queen means the murder of the King. Such rumors lead to mistrust and war.
Four hive princes, three with chosen consorts, rage war to become the new king. Termites of the colony forced to pic sides. Brothers kill brothers, sisters kill sisters, brothers kill sisters.
One month has passed, yet no winner. The Termite King's throne remains empty. The Termite colony is in disarray. The fourth prince remains missing.
A little bug wearing a pile of leaves as a cloak and hood runs along a wide space barren dirt under the shining sun. The bug seems to be running in a hurry as if the bug is running for its life.
From a nearby large rock resembling a cliffside from a bug's view is a large termite armored in rocks. His long antennas pick up the little bug's movement. When the antennas tilt to the right, his head follows. He motions his arm to command a female armored termite to his side.
The female huddles up like a soldier waiting for an order. The male points for the female to see the little running bug at a distance.
"Get em, and bring em to the camp" the male orders with a deep voice of one in his late thirties.
"As you command love," the female speaks with a voice in her mid-thirties nods and orders a squad of four armored soldier termites to follow. She and the squad leap over the commanding male, riding on wooden wheeled mechanism like motorcycles.
The squad land on the ground and give chase.
The little bug turns his or her around behind to see a squadron of Termites riding wood cycles towards them. At the sight of two soldiers with threads, preparing them like a rope lasso the bug freaks out.
"GASP! I have been spotted!" The bug, who turns out to be female due to her high pitch girl voice. She tries to speed up her pace hoping to outrun the chasing termites.
The female termite leading her soldiers' smirk and turns her head to the nearest rider with the thread lasso. She nods for him to catch the running bug. As ordered, he did.
The Termite soldier with the lasso begins to speed. The little bug continues to keep running. Her heart beats ever fast in her thorax. The termite pursuer throws his lasso and catches the bug by the leg making her trip. The termites surround the bug, capturing her.

With the bug captured and tied up, the termite squad ride back into the tall grass forest. They follow the commanding female all the way to a dying tree with a big hollow opening. A pair of Termites keeping watch signal the squad clear to enter the hollow.
The termite squad with the captured bug ride in to be greeted by a massive military Termite encampment with bulging dirt mounds as tents.
The little leaf cloaked bug lifts up her head to see swarms of termites in armor training for an upcoming battle. The soldiers who were training stop to see the riders pass by with a terrified captive. They kneel as the riders pass on as if they are royalty.
The riders ride up all the way to the biggest mound with the entrance guarded by to Termites dressed heavily in stone.
The leading female hops off her cycle followed by others, dragging the bug along with them.
"Is my prince in there?" the female demands.
The guards simply nod and opens up the wood carved door to allow their superior entry. The female grabs the bug by the collar and drags her into a huge dark space with small flicking flames.
From the shadows, stomping sounds is heard. The little bug sees a large male termite approaching her with fear written on her face.
Without his helmet, the big termite has a pair of large mandibles between his frowning mouth with a fang sticking out. He looks at the bug with two large orange eyes. His left one is faded with a scar across. The big termite growls at the little trespassing bug with an angry face. The little bug keeps her big purple eyes as she shakes, afraid what he is going to.
"Who are you? Why do you trespass in my territory? Are you working with one of my brothers? ANSWER ME!" the male termite demands and spreads his long wings to intimidate her.
The female termite behind the bug grabs the bug's hood and forcibly rips off the cloak to reveal a very scared ant pleading for mercy.
"An Ant?" The big male termite questions. "What is an Ant doing here in Termite territory?"
"I…I…was just going by," the ant further pleas crying for her life.
"Doing what?" The female termite barks. "Is your queen planning on an invasion while we termites are in civil?"
"What?" the ant perks up speechless.
"My chosen consort has asked if your little queen is planning on taking advantage of us while we are at war?" The male termite glares making the ant flinch.
"I swear to all my siblings! My queen is not planning anything?"
"THAN WHY DO WE SEE YOU SCOUTING AROUND?!" the male termite shouts once again, demanding an answer he wants to hear. He grabs the ant by the neck.
The female termite rushes to the male's side and barks, "maybe her queen is working with one of your brothers!"
"I doubt that. Tune would never work with a rival colony. Maybe Timber but he is too stupid for diplomacy." The male argues keeping his glare at the ant being choked by his grasp.
"I-beg of you. Yes my queen sent me here but (Gah)"
"But what?" the old termite prince demands softly before throwing the to a wall.
The ant coughs a few breathes before continuing, "My colony did hear about the war going on, but my scouting is just keep an eye on you. I beg of you! The ant colony is not plotting anything. Just making sure your war does not reach home!"
The ant begins to cry for her siblings. The large termite prince turns around in thinking position. He puts an arm on his chosen consorts shoulder and guides her away from the scared ant.
"What do you think?" the prince whispers. "Usually ants scouts to other lands to find new territory."
The consort Termite thinks and whispers back, "did you not have a third brother?"
"Yeaaaah," the prince mutters, "Tamlen, the weakest of my brothers. He believes we should be making this unrealistic peace with the other bug colonies. Total fool he is. He ran away like a coward after my mother's assassination a week after my father's."
The Old prince pauses with a speechless face. He looks at his consort's brown eyes with long eye lashes. "Are you saying…?"
The consort nods and whispers, "Yes my dear rightfull king Thagon, I believe Tamlen did not just run like a coward."
The pair turn their bug eye gazes to the scared ant. The scene goes dark.
