Location - Harvest, USA

This was one of many locations within the Mann's Land territory owned by Saxton Hale's company Mann. Co.

But the last 4 years had brought a change to the area. The kind brought on by animals that last roamed these lands millions of years ago.

Today, a Nigerasurus carcass brought a foul stench to the grounds. Only a few miles off its herd could still be heard calling in vain to the fallen sauropod, a victim of old age and now equivalent to road kill for any passing meat eater, be it from the past or present.

Today that role was filled by Utahraptor, one of the most terrifying cretaceous era carnivores. Resurrected through manipulation and exploration of genetic power and scientific genius now stalked North America's lands once again. The two bear-sized dromeosaurs skulked in a surprisingly casual manner, very akin to cassowary. Slowly approaching this dead body.

One of them sported black spot and stripe patterns through its feathery plumage, broken up by the main coating of dull orange while contrasted by a greyish white underside, The second dromeosaur was a more tame colouring of greyish black, evened up by white on the brow of its skull, running down the back. Its stomach is far more blackish grey broken up by faded white on its throat. Thus highlighting a case of sexual dimorphism in these dinosaurs, bright colouring in the male plumage while the female wore a less flamboyant pattern

The darker-coloured Utahraptor sniffed the Nigersaurus's body first, no signs of life visible apart from flies buzzing over its decaying sauropod. Fortunately, this herbivore had only died two days ago so freshness remained in the stench. She took the first nibble before the male joined in, razorblade teeth ripping through eroding skin and letting them get to the juicy meat. Taking turns to feast, one keeping watch while the other buried its head into the dead dinosaur's flesh. Much like northern giant petrels would when feasting on a dead elephant seal.

A meal this size would feed both raptors for a while, given that they'd been scouting these grounds as potential territory over the past few days.

But the pair was about to have their free meal interrupted by an even bigger, heavier and angrier beast. One that like the Utahraptors had been drawn by the smell of death, in the form of a bull Acrocanthosaurus. The great theropod's body matched the dessert sand of Harvest contrasted by red stripes all over its body's high neural spine with white spots on his head.

To a beast of his size and power, anything smaller than him was an easy meal.

Bellowing to announce his arrival, accompanied by heavy footsteps that made the Utahraptors swiftly bat their heads up from their feast to see this approaching monster. Vocalising a mix of squawks and screeches in an attempt to hold their ground. This effort remained futile as the larger predator growled back at them, tone deep like a grizzly bear and undeterred by the feathered thieves, especially when it came to food.

With the risk of injury not being a wise option, the Raptors decided to back away from the corpse while the larger theropod loomed over it and them. Once they were gone, it took no time for the Acro to begin gorging itself on the small Sauropod's body. One foot planted on the corpse to assist with tearing away flesh in a brutal yet beautifully powerful manner. Satisfied that the Acro make a low growl resembling that of lions, in response a second Acrocanthosaurs and its juvenile offspring came from behind one of the buildings to partake in feasting.

The young theropod resembles its parents but without the spots and stripes, while the second adult lacked the white facial marks. Allowing for identification in their family unit, the female provides some meat chunks for the chick. After all, it'd need all the right nutrition, guidance and care to reach adulthood.

Above the feeding carnivores, a Blu drone strapped and bolted together using a blend of crude welding and metal filmed and observed the animals. Before swiftly darting off, not seeming to want to linger any longer than needed.

From within her office, an elderly lady was watching the animals and this drone from one of many security cameras set up around Harvest. Creatures like these had brought, complications to say the least. Various species popping up around the territories her men ran combat drills on, she'd enacted protocols to ensure minimal risk of encounters between dinos and mercenaries…after all those men were her assets just as these dinos were once to the likes of InGen, Biosyn and other corporations.

Despite this, merc and dinosaurs did cross paths if not often, sometimes incidents occurred. Good thing they had a skilled medic to rely on.

Not much could be done to stop dinosaurs moving through the area, some even making themselves right at home within Mann's Land. Which didn't help Mann. Co's business out at all.

Something about today's visitors was different though, notably how both raptors seemed to have radio collars on their necks…which could only mean one thing. Their movements were either being tracked by the fish and wildlife department, or they weren't completely wild.

Her train of thought then received an abrupt interruption with the ringing of that ancient telephone to her left. Which was a dinosaur in a way.

"Yes?" She asked the voice at the other end.

"So as we know things aren't exactly gonna go back to normal…business is hit and miss. Those oversized lizards seem to be right at home on our turf and doubt they'll be leaving anytime soon. However, I just got off a rather interesting talk on the phone. Turns out somebody's looking to hire a couple of guys for dealing with nuisance dinosaurs…so if you could let the boys know there's a business proposition I might have for em. Let em think about it and we'll see where it goes." A heavy sounding, Australian man told her.

Extinguishing her cigarette with the phone still in hand after he hung up, the administrator spun the number dial and decided to make a call.

"Hello?" A softer female voice answered on the other end.

"Gather the team, there is…a job opportunity I would like them to be informed of" She spoke with a tone slow as a burning candle yet with enough immediacy to warrant that her time was not for wasting.
